AN: Hello readers! A cute Harry/Luna one shot for all those Lunarry shippers out there! Remember, I don't own HP. Don't sue me.
A Ravenclaw Rescue
Luna walked through the rows of bookshelves, her eyes finally spying he Care of Magical Creatures section. She almost glided over the Hogwarts Library floor, to reach the tomes about her favourite subject.
As the girl was riffling through he books she saw someone through the gap. Luna continued looking through the heavy volumes, albeit slightly nervously now. She hoped it wasn't a Blibbering Humdinger or a Nargle. They always teased her or stole her possessions.
The blonde spotted green eyes through the gap and sighed in relief. It was only Harry Potter. He wouldn't do anything.
Luna turned away, reading a book she had selected. Making her way through the shelves to sit at a table, her eyes on the textbook, she didn't notice Harry following her.
"Wow." Harry's voice made Luna spin around to face him. "You didn't even look up once, seems like you know this place well."
Luna smiled at him, "Well, I'm a Ravenclaw, what do you expect?"
Harry smoothed his hair down shyly, "You're right. What's your name?"
"It's Luna, though for some reason people mistake my name for Loony, even if I try to correct them." Luna smiled dreamily, thinking of Ginny being the only one to call her by her real name. "And I know you are Harry Potter," she went ahead, cutting Harry off as he tried to introduce himself. "Ginny told me about you, you're her brother's best friend."
Harry grinned. Luna was odd, but she addressed him simply as her friend's acquaintance and not a celebrity.
"Yes. Are you in Ginny's year?" She looked about Gin's age, but she might be younger.
"Of course, or we wouldn't be having this conversation." She said mystically.
"What do you mean by that, Luna?"
The afternoon stretched on, the duo having a long, comfortable chat, though they started to whisper when Madame Pince came back from her break.
Harry's best friends found him as soon as they had lunch. Ron tried to cut in with "Why are you sitting with Loony?" He failed as Hermione thoughtfully shushed him and lead him away.
Later, Harry and Luna started reading in comfortable silence. The champion finally commenced working on his clue for the second task, while Luna read her novels for pleasure.
The raven haired boy had almost given up hope of finding a solution to the egg, when he decided to ask Luna, who seemed trustworthy.
Surprisingly, Luna had identified the wail of mermaids on description and Harry could have kissed her.
That got the fourth year thinking. Maybe Luna could help him in another way.
"Luna, will you go with me to the Yule Ball, as friends?" He added.
"Sure! I've never gone to a ball or anything else with friends."
Harry smiled sadly. During their conversation, he had perceived that Luna had very few friends. He was glad to be one of them.
Harry would later come to know that he had rescued her as much as she had helped him.
