Tremors

Chapter 1: Snap, Crackle, Pop

Class 1-A had settled into the routine of classes after the provisional license exam. Some students were working hard to prepare for their upcoming internships while others devoted themselves to improving in their studies. Hero trainings were frequent and difficult, with the teachers looking to sharpen the young heroes' skills before they began making waves in the real world.

Amidst this busyness, the class of comrades still found some time to relax together in the dorms. They cooked together, played games, and watched movies to relieve the stresses of long days of training. One such quiet moment found Izuku, Uraraka, Todoroki and Yaoyorozu trying something that Yaoyorozu had suggested – yoga.

"Ugh!" came a frustrated groan from Uraraka as she failed yet again to properly balance her body on her forearms. Izuku snickered softly beside her, while Todoroki wobbled slightly in his own pose.

"Don't worry Uraraka," Yaoyorozu called, "it took me ages to get it right. Keep in mind that even the failures are helping to build your strength and flexibility."

Izuku smiled brightly at the idea of improving and went back to his own pose, reaching between his legs to grasp at his ankles. With some deep breathing, his hands finally reached his ankles. As he wrapped what he could of his fingers around his own lower legs his fingers emitted a sharp series of pops and cracks.

"What was that Deku?!" Uraraka asked, raising her head from a bowed position "Did you shift too far?"

Izuku straightened slowly before sheepishly rubbing the back of his head.

"Ha n-no, don't worry Uraraka! I'm fine! I even reached my ankles!" The falsely cheery tone of his voice gave away his embarrassment.

Uraraka raised an eyebrow.

"What was with all that noise though? Was that your back?"

Izuku settled into a simple lotus pose. "No, it's just my hands," he said, splaying said appendages in front of him. He flexed his fingers and they gave another few pops.

"Ever since the training camp they've been a little noisy," Izuku explained, giving a hesitant chuckle. "I'm certainly not very stealthy anymore."

Yaoyorozu walked up behind the stretching pair. "That sounds painful, Midoriya," she remarked, "did the doctors say anything about it?"

"Ah, no," Izuku responded, "I never really bothered to ask the doctors, I figured they were a bit too busy. Besides, it doesn't hurt too much, it isn't a big deal."

He stretched into what was almost a full split as Uraraka and Yaoyorozu shared a glance.

"They shouldn't hurt at all though Deku," Uraraka said, "maybe you could ask Recovery Girl about it."

Izuku hummed. "Maybe I will. Thanks for worrying about me guys, but I'm okay." He seemed to be trying to end any further conversation on the topic. The girls decided to let it go. Uraraka began wrapping up her yoga mat, sighing softly to herself. Todoroki walked over to the group with his mat tucked under his arm.

"That was good flexibility training," he announced to the group as a whole before turning to Izuku.

"Your hands sound like a rice krispie treat"

Izuku sputtered and tumbled over as Yaoyorozu snorted from her position. Uraraka giggled at Izuku's pink face. The green-haired boy started frantically waving in a very Iida-esque fashion, comically protesting the truth of Todoroki's statement.

The familiar bickering comforted Uraraka, but she still stored her faint source of worry in the back of her mind. Maybe she would ask her father, who had arthritis, for some advice. Hopefully her stubborn friend would go to Recovery Girl for some help, although she really doubted he would.

'You're turning me into a mother hen silly Deku,' she thought, before walking over to her squabbling friends and loudly proposing that they all heat up some food before doing their homework.

Thanks for reading, any advice is very much appreciated. Peace!
