DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER BUT I DO OWN EVELYN KATHERINE SINCLAIR KING AND OTHER CHARACTERS THAT I CREATED.
Evelyn loved having her friends around. She was glad that she had both Christina and Carter. They were funny, nice and sometimes even helpful to her and her mum. However, Evelyn wanted to hex them both at times.
Why did Evelyn want to hex them?
Well, because they wouldn't stop talking about Quidditch. It was all they seemed to know and care. They didn't like talking about films, books or even anything else. While Evelyn understood Quidditch was a big part of both of their lives, especially Christina, she couldn't help but get annoyed. Her annoyance went into irritation when they started to argue about it.
Again, the two of them were arguing. They were arguing about which European team was better. She had never heard the names of the teams and the players were even more foreign to her. The situation was even more aggravating as they had decided to argue in her room when the two of them had their rooms to use. She couldn't even concentrate on reading her statement for the debate.
"Would you two stop it?" Evelyn groaned, but Carter and Christina ignored her. She shook her head and decided to leave the room. She walked downstairs to see her mum in the kitchen preparing dinner.
"Shouldn't you be with your guests?" She questioned Evelyn who took a seat on the kitchen table.
Evelyn scoffed. "They're frustrating. They've been arguing about Quidditch for hours." She grumbled. "Hopefully, they'll end each other before they end me." Her mum rolled her eyes at her. "Don't do that! You're just as bad as them."
"Why am I as bad as them?" Her mum asked with a smile.
"Because you always join in the bloody conversations." She answered. "All I do is sit and be quiet." She breathed out. "You know I love to talk."
Rose smiled and shook her head. "If it makes you feel any better, Alphard and Sirius are joining us for Christmas dinner tomorrow."
Evelyn grinned at the mention of her godfather. Her grin fell when she remembered that Alphard had played Quidditch as well in Hogwarts. "While I'm glad that Alphard is coming, he played Quidditch too." She stated. "And Sirius is a Beater who is best friends with James who is just as obsessed with Quidditch as Chris." Rose tilted her head and Evelyn pouted. "Why can't you invite someone who doesn't play or like Quidditch?"
At that moment, her mum looked down and bit her lip. Evelyn frowned at her behaviour. "There is someone I can invite, but I don't know if it's a good idea."
"Who-who are you talking about?"
Her mum gulped down. "I thought about telling you this when you told about you and Rabastan," Rose mumbled. She had told her about Rabastan as soon as she had come home. Her mum hadn't been that excited about it, but she hadn't been upset either. According to Carter, it made sense as parents are usually uncomfortable with their kids dating. "I'm dating someone."
Without missing a beat, Evelyn spoke. "Is it Auror Gerard?"
"What? How-how do you know that?" She questioned Evelyn proving that she was right. "How did you-you know it was-was him?"
Evelyn closed her mouth. She knew that her mum had some attraction to the man as Alphard had alluded to. Alluded would be an understatement. He had told her that he had caught her mum checking the man out. From that moment, Evelyn had started to suspect that something could happen between them. Her suspicion had grown during the Quidditch World Cup and now, it was confirmed.
"I just saw you hitting it off with him during the World Cup." Evelyn lied not wanting to snitch on Alphard. Her mum turned red and Evelyn had to hold her laugh. "So, how long have you been dating?"
Her mum sighed and looked away. "Since September." She answered and Evelyn hummed. "I wanted to invite him, but with your friends here and Alphard bringing his nephew, I didn't want to make things uncomfortable."
Evelyn got up from her seat and walked close to the island. "It wouldn't be uncomfortable, mum." She pointed out as she leaned against the island. "He's your boyfriend and if you want him to come here, he should come."
"You don't mind me dating a past professor of yours?"
"No!" Evelyn exclaimed. "Of course, I don't mind, especially since he's such a good guy." Her mum hummed in agreement. "Does he make you happy?"
Her smile grew. "He does." She admitted and Evelyn had to hold herself from squealing. It was good to hear that her mum had found someone. Don had mentioned that she could be lonely and hated that thought with her whole body.
"Then invite him, mum." She insisted. "Unless he is bothered by being with his old students."
Rose shook her head. "No, he's not. I already told him that Christina and Carter are staying here." She informed Evelyn. "He says that he'll come only if we were all comfortable."
"Tell him to come then." She told her mum. "But he should expect me, Romeo, Chris and Sirius call him professor. We're only humans." Her mum snorted. "And our new professor sucks."
"Why does he suck?"
Evelyn had yet to get over what Hart did to her. He had humiliated her in front of her whole class because she didn't know how to conjure a Patronus. "He just does." She brushed it off as she didn't want to go to details. "Either way, invite him."
"I will," Rose assured her. "Just tell Carter and Christina. I don't want them to be uncomfortable or make Ezra uncomfortable."
She scoffed. "You shouldn't be worried about that. You should be worried that I'm going to stab myself if anyone talks about Quidditch during the whole dinner." Her mum snorted. "I'm not kidding, mum."
"Alright, I'll keep that in mind, sunshine."
Rose knocked on the door of his office and waited for him to respond. The lunch break was almost over and she hoped that he had returned from it. To her luck, she heard his voice telling her to come in. She opened the door and Ezra immediately smiled at her.
"Hey." He greeted her, got up from his seat and pressed a kiss square on her lips. She smiled into the kiss and they pulled away quite quickly after that. His office was a closed space, but both of them didn't feel comfortable being very affectionate in their job. "What are you doing here?"
Rose smiled and he tilted his head. "I told Evelyn about us." He took a step back and raised an eyebrow. "She didn't mind me dating her former professor and even encouraged me to ask you to come to dinner tonight." His eyebrows rose so high that they almost disappeared in his hairline. "What? You don't want to come?"
He shook his head immediately after he said that. "No, no, I would love to have dinner with all of you." He answered her and her shoulders relaxed. "I wasn't just expecting her to be so alright with it. I thought she'd be a bit uncomfortable with it."
"She wasn't at all," Rose told him. "She said that she's happy about me because you are such a good guy." She mimicked her daughter's slip of American accent making Ezra chuckle. "So, do you want to come?"
"Of course." He answered her and she smiled in relief. "It feels weird to see my old students again. I remember Ulver and Lee being very energetic."
Rose tilted her head. "They're not the only ones you'll bee seeing." He frowned. "Alphard is bringing Sirius with you."
"Oh, I see Sirius quite often." She raised an eyebrow at him. "You know that I'm neighbours with the Potters, right?" she hummed. "Well, Sirius is best friend with their son, James and he spent most of the summer there. Actua, I think he spends most of his holidays with them."
Rose frowned. She had two of her daughter's friends spending their holidays them and she was aware of their reason. They both were staying over as they both were in bad places with their parents. A part of her wondered if this was the case with Sirius as well. She wouldn't be surprised as Walburga was awful while Orion was a git.
She snapped out of her thoughts and turned to her boyfriend. "So, you're okay with it?"
He nodded. "Of course, Rose."
"Good." She leaned forward and pulled him into a short kiss. As she was kissing him, she wished that she could deepen the kiss. However, Rose was reminded that she was at work. "Be there at eight." He nodded his head and she walked out of his office.
Rose made her way to her department's floor before walking towards her office which she shared with two other people. To her luck, she was alone for the day as both of her coworkers had gone to holidays with her families. When she opened the door, she found her oldest friend sitting on one of her coworker's friends.
"Where were you?" He questioned her. "Do you know how long I've been waiting for you?"
She rolled her eyes. "I was on my lunch break and then I went to talk to Ezra." He wriggled his eyebrows at her. "Stop it."
Alphard grinned. "I can't believe you're dating a senior Auror." He shook his head and laughed. "I wonder who's the bottom and who's the top."
Rose would have turned red if she had been talking to someone else, but this was Alphard. She was used to him. "We haven't had sex yet." She informed him and he gasped. "Act a little less shocked."
"I'm just surprised that you haven't jumped him yet." She sat down on her chair. "Are you taking it slow?"
Rose gulped down. Her and Ezra had decided to take it slow, but that wasn't working with them. First of all, he was coming to dinner where he was going to spend time with her daughter. Second of all, it had become clear to Rose by now that she was falling for him.
"Something like that." She mumbled as she felt her heart flutter. "Although, he's coming to the dinner."
"Evelyn is alright with it?" Alphard questioned her and she hummed.
"Apparently, she knew for quite a while-"
"I didn't mean to tell her." Alphard cut her off and Rose furrowed her eyebrows. "I didn't even know Ezra used to be her professor."
Rose squinted her eyes as she looked at her friend. "What?" She questioned him.
"I didn't mean to tell her that I saw you checking him out, it just slipped-"
"You told my daughter that you saw me check someone out?!" She raised her voice and Alphard's face fell. "How could you do that?!"
Alphard flinched and shook his head. "Fuck, I thought she told you." He pouted. "Please, don't kill me, let my illness do it for me."
Rose scoffed at him. "Are you mad? How can you tell my daughter that? Not only is she my daughter, but she's also fourteen."
"It slipped." He told her and she glared at him. "It did. I didn't mean to tell her and I certainly didn't know he used to be her professor." She turned her head around and moved her paperwork closer to her. "You need to look at the positive side of this, Ro."
"What positive side, Al?" She said through clenched teeth.
He offered her a smile. "You didn't raise a snitch."
Rose narrowed her green eyes at him. She had yet to grasp how thick her best friend had to be for telling her daughter something like that.
"Does your mum have a thing for teachers then?" Carter asked her as the three of them as they were setting the table. "First, your dad. Now, professor Gerard."
Evelyn sighed. "First, Mr Gerard isn't even a professor anymore." She whispered to him for her mum not to hear. "Second, I think it might have something to do with personality rather than their jobs." Christina hummed in agreement. "And third, don't call him professor. It's weird."
"Eve, you just called him Mr Gerard." Christina pointed out to her.
Evelyn stopped in her tracks and bit her lip. She didn't know what to call him. She knew to call him professor was weird and to her friends, calling him Mr was no better. Should she call him by his first name?
Her attention was turned to the door. She stopped thinking about to call him as she realized that it was already eight. He was probably at the door. She took a deep breath and glanced at her friends.
"Don't act weird." She muttered.
Christina huffed. "Tell that to Carter."
He ended up gasping to her other friend. "What does that mean?"
"Shut up," Evelyn told them as she moved out of the dining room and walked to the door. Her mum was too busy finishing dinner to answer the door, so she did it.
When she looked through the peephole, Evelyn sighed in relief. It wasn't Auror Gerard at the door.
She opened the door and she was met with her godfather's huge grin. "Merlin's beard, haven't you grown up!" He beamed before pulling Evelyn into a tight hug.
Evelyn returned it immediately. She hadn't seen her godfather since early summer and she had missed him a lot. It was good to have him, especially since he knew how to bring a smile to everyone. "I missed you a lot." She murmured to him.
She heard Alphard take an inhale of breath. "Me too, Eve." He said to her before pulling away. She glanced at him before she turned her attention to the other person.
Sirius was standing close to the door, his lips were pursued and his eyes held a flare that she had never seen before. There was no doubt to Evelyn that Sirius was pissed off. "Hi." She greeted him and he glanced at her. "Come in."
He dragged his feet inside and she studied him. There was definitely something up with him. He was angry and she was wondering if he was upset about something as well. He took off his cloak and scarf before handing it to her. Like last time, he left his trunk next to the wall. Evelyn realized that he was probably heading to James.
"You can go to the living room." She told him and he hummed in response. He stalked to the living room and she saw Carter and Christina enter the living room. She heard them greet him, but Sirius's responses were short and barely audible.
Alphard who was still in the corridor was looking down and playing with the rings in his fingers. "Is everything alright with him?" She asked. Her godfather didn't even turn to her. "He seems a bit down."
Her godfather snorted. "A bit would be an understatement, Eve." He mumbled and she raised an eyebrow. "Don't fret about him. He's just coming down from being very angry." He smiled at Evelyn, but the smile did nothing to assure her. "Where is Rose?"
"She's finishing up dinner," Evelyn answered him.
He headed to the kitchen leaving Evelyn in the corridor. She inhaled, exhaled, fixed the rustles of her dress and walked in the living room. Sirius was sitting in the armchair looking around the living room while Carter and Christina were fighting for the remote control.
"Chris, you don't even know the channels." Carter moved his arm to reach the remote control, but Christina didn't let him.
"I can still pick something good." She insisted. "Maybe I can find a sport's channel."
Evelyn sat on her couch and pointed a finger at Christina. "Not a sport's channel. I don't want to see or talk about any kind of sports."
"Why?" Both Carter and Christina wondered.
She glared at them. "You know what." She snapped at them before turning to Sirius. "How about you? Do you have a preference?"
Sirius pressed his lips together. "No, I don't watch telly." He mumbled before looking down to his shoes.
Evelyn frowned and she turned her attention to her friends. Christina didn't pay much attention to Sirius, but Carter raised an eyebrow.
Sirius' usual attitude which consisted of arrogance, mischievousness and charm. He seemed to be the shadow of that. He wasn't even bothering to hide it which was something Evelyn would have done. She guessed this was the way he dealt with his emotions.
"There is nothing on the telly." Christina declared.
Carter managed to get the remote control out of her. "Because you don't know where to look, Chris." He snapped at her and started to press the buttons.
She shook her head at her friends. They were unbelievable at times. While she was glad that they stopped talking about Quidditch, but now, they were fighting about the remote control. She hoped that they wouldn't act like this when Auror Gerard showed up.
As soon as she thought that, Evelyn heard the doorbell ring. Her body tensed and her eyes widened in realization who it was. Carter and Christina immediately turned to her and gave her sheepish smiles.
Evelyn pressed her lips together and got up. She walked towards the door, looked at the peephole and saw that it was him. She exhaled and opened the door.
Mr Gerard was wearing a long grey coat, dark pants, a light blue jumper, black shiny shoes and he was holding a bottle of wine in his hand. When his eyes landed on her, he smiled. "Good evening, Evelyn."
She forced a smile as well. "Hi, Mr Gerard. Come in." She stepped away and opened the door wider. The man walked inside and Evelyn closed the door behind. "You can give me your coat."
He shrugged the coat off. and handed it to her. "Thank you." She took it from him and hanged it. "Oh, and Evelyn?" She turned her head towards him. "You can call me Ezra." He told her before walking in the living room. She bit her lip and hoped that she could do that without feeling embarrassed.
Everyone was seated in the dining room. Her mum was sitting at the head of the table while the others were around. Evelyn was sitting on her right. She was followed by Christina and Carter. While on her mum's left, Ezra was sitting followed by Alphard and Sirius.
"So, how is the fourth year going for you?" Ezra asked being the first one to make conversation.
"Good," Christina responded. "We're probably going to win the Quidditch Cup." Carter nodded while Evelyn huffed. "But I don't think you'll want us to win since you were Gryffindor."
He snorted. "I never cared about Quidditch. It was fun but never was obsessed with it. Plus, I think at my age, your Hogwarts house shouldn't matter."
"Tell that to my Slytherin themed underwear." Alphard quipped making everyone laugh, even Sirius. "Also, during your time in Hogwarts, other houses didn't have a chance with Slytherin."
Evelyn clenched her jaw knowing the Quidditch talk was coming. She had been trying to avoid this. "Now, Slytherin doesn't stand a chance," Christina stated. "Ravenclaw is the best and the only one who can approach us is Gryffindor, but even they are far off."
From the corner of her eyes, Evelyn noticed Sirius roll his eyes. She looked down as she smiled. "And Slytherin? How are they doing?"
"Regulus Black is a good Seeker, but everyone else is mediocre." Christina glanced at Evelyn as she spoke. In other words, Christina had just called Rabastan mediocre. If it wasn't for the others, Evelyn would have defended her boyfriend's skills in Quidditch. "Hufflepuff isn't that bad, they just need a better strategy. Their Seeker is the worst Seeker out of all of us."
"He's not that bad," Carter interjected. "He's just not as good as you and the others. However, the Quidditch World Cup is in the bag for us this year, captain." Christina smiled. "The chances of us winning the House Cup are good too, especially since Slytherin and Gryffindor are so behind."
Alphard glanced at Sirius. "I guess you and your friends have a part in this?"
"For Gryffindors," Sirius answered. "Slytherins lose their points all on their own."
"We used to be at the top in the Quidditch World Cup," Alphard informed them. "The House Cup was mostly stolen by Dumbledore's dearest here." Evelyn's eyes widened when he pointed to Ezra and the man gulped down.
"You were Dumbledore's favourite?" Carter questioned him. "That must have been amazing." He mused. "How did you do that?"
Ezra shook his head. "I wasn't Dumbledore's favourite." He declared and Alphard snorted. Evelyn noticed her mum shot him a look that made him shut up. "Dumbledore knew my parents because they fought alongside him in the war with Grindelwald." He explained to them and Evelyn turned her attention to him. "My parents were killed in the war and I was sent to live with my mother's parents who were muggles." She pressed her lips together as she had forgotten that the man had lost his parents at a young age. "Dumbledore came into my house and told me everything about the wizarding world. While I knew some things, my knowledge was quite limited because of my grandparents. In my first year, I struggled in Hogwarts and Dumbledore offered me some advice. He was a teacher back then, he taught us Transfiguration. One student was going in his office to ask home something, he heard Dumbledore and I talk and the news spread that I was his favourite students."
"It's truly horrifying how such a small thing could play a role in your reputation," Evelyn stated as she looked down on her food. She wondered if anything she had down or would do in the future would impact her. For her to become a Wizengamot member, Evelyn needed a spotless reputation. "Also, it proves that they won the Cup because they deserved it." She shot her godfather a pointed look and he winked at her.
"I hope we win it," Carter muttered. "Us, Ravenclaws, are not that much of troublemakers and when we are, we try our best not to be caught. The only person who can sabotage us is Hart."
She shuddered at the mention of the professor. She had yet to get over how he had humiliated her in front of the whole class.
"Hart?" Ezra furrowed his eyebrows. "As Kieran Hart?"
Evelyn turned to him and nodded her head. "Yes, he teaches us Defence this year. Do you know him?"
"Yes, he used to be an Auror in training and I used to mentor him," Ezra explained to them. "He was quite talented and good at it, but he resigned before his first year of training was even over. I found out that he left from Scrimgeour who was just as shocked."
"Who's Scrimgeour?" Christina wondered.
"He's the Deputy Head of Aurors," Evelyn responded to er before turning to Ezra. "Why did he resign? It's quite hard getting in the Auror program."
He shrugged. "I have no idea why. I haven't seen him since then." He admitted. "I'm quite taken back that Dumbledore hired him. I have to admit though that he is quite qualified."
"He is, but he's also a bit of prat." Evelyn murmured under her breath. "He's very strict, harsh and cold. You would have thought we're in the military rather than in school."
Her mum frowned. "Has he said something to you?"
Evelyn shook her head. While he had humiliated her in front of the whole class, he hadn't insulted her. He had just tried to prove his point. Also, telling her mum wouldn't be a wise decision. She could be overprotective at times. "No. It's more of his attitude and how he doesn't like mistakes."
"Seems like that hasn't changed," Ezra commented. "He was like that when I mentored him too."
"He should change that attitude with kids though," Evelyn said. "If he acts like that with everyone, I can't imagine how first years feel around him."
Sirius hummed. "Look at the positive side of this," She spared him a glance. "He will be gone at the end of the year." At least that gave Evelyn some kind of relief.
After dinner, Evelyn found herself in the bathroom. They had a great night and she had enjoyed the conversation. It had been a bit awkward and off, but she had enjoyed herself. It seemed like everyone did. Well, everyone, but Sirius.
When she got out of the bathroom and went down the stairs, she saw that Alphard was looking around. "Are you looking for something?"
"Have you seen Sirius?" He asked her as he gulped down. "He got up a few minutes ago, I thought he was going to the bathroom, but then I realized you went there
She frowned. "No, he wasn't even outside of it." She replied and he rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Is he alright? He seems off all dinner."
"Oh, he'll be alright." He tried to assure her. It wasn't working as Evelyn could see that Sirius was everything but alright. He seemed to be feeling down. "I just want to know where he is..." He trailed off. "I just don't think he wants to see me right now."
Evelyn tilted her head. "Why not?"
Alphard shifted. "It's a long story." He murmured. "Can you go look for him and when you find him, tell him that we're going to leave soon."
She nodded her head. She had no idea what was going on. She only knew that her godfather needed her help and she was going to give it to him. So, she looked around for Sirius only to find him in their backdoor terrace sitting on the stairs.
Evelyn opened the backdoor and his eyes landed on her. "Alphard is looking for you. He says that you're leaving soon, so you should probably go to the living room."
Sirius shook his head. "He can come and get me when we are leaving." He spat. "I don't want to stay there." She arched her eyebrows at his words. "I didn't want to come here at all. It was a waste of my time."
Evelyn's blood boiled, her lips curled and she narrowed her eyes at him. "Then why dod you come, huh?! To complain that it's a waste of time?! To sit there and only respond with short answers?! Bloody hell, you didn't even thank my mum for the incredible dinner that she made!"
"Merlin's beard, I'm not in the mood, Lynn." He snapped at her. "I don't have the nerve to be nice."
She closed the door and approached him. "When do you have the nerve to be nice, Sirius? Maybe once in a blue moon, you are but other times, you're an arse."
"How about you, Lynn? Where is your kindness to your guest?"
Evelyn scoffed at him as she moved next to him. "I was nice to you all night. It wasn't until now, that I snapped."
His eyes met hers. At that moment, Evelyn shivered. She had never seen such intensity in someone's eyes. It was so obvious from his dilated pupils to the darker colour that his eyes had taken.
"I'm not in the mood, Lynn," Sirius repeated, his voice harsher.
"I get that because it's so obvious. I don't get why you need to be an arse." She told him as she sat down next to him. "What does it cost to be nice to people?"
Sirius scoffed. "Why would I be nice, huh? I don't care what people think."
She huffed. "Please, everyone cares what other people think of them. It's human nature." She declared. "Especially someone who takes such good care of his hair."
"They're naturally this way."
"I know for a fact that they aren't." Evelyn quipped. "Marlene told me you have an excessive need to check yourselves in mirrors."
Sirius didn't answer her, he only turned his attention at the tree in the middle of her garden. She wrapped her arms around herself and breathed in for warmth. She averted her gaze at Sirius and breathed out.
"Why are you in such a bad mood?" She asked him the question she had been wondering all night.
He curled his lips. "I don't have to answer you."
"I didn't demand an answer, Sirius, I just asked," Evelyn informed him and he shifted. "I was trying to be nice."
"I still don't want to answer you." He insisted.
She had the urge to roll her eyes, but she didn't. She didn't know why. Sirius was irritating her with his attitude. Yet she had to remind herself that he was in a bad mood. She needed to be considerate to him.
"You know what I do when I'm upset or I'm in a bad mood?" Sirius didn't answer her. "I sing this song my mum used to sing to me when I was little. It always makes me feel better." Again, Sirius didn't say anything. "It goes like this..." She mumbled. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know, dear, how much I love. Please, don't take my sunshine away."
Silence followed her singing. Evelyn looked down as she realized that her idea was horrible. Merlin, why did she think that Sirius Black would even listen to her? He seemed to be a stubborn boy.
"The song is good." He spoke after a few minutes and she looked at him. "I just don't know how it could help me or anyone for that matter that isn't you."
"Maybe you have a song or a memory that lifts your mood," Evelyn suggested. "It could be anything that brings you joy and makes you feel better."
Sirius scoffed. "With everything going on, I doubt it." He mumbled. "I'm surprised you're not upset by it."
She scrunched her nose. "Upset about what?"
Sirius' shoulders tensed and Evelyn couldn't help but noticed what. Was he talking about the debate? Was he talking about the attacks that were growing? Or was he talking about something that Evelyn wasn't aware of? Something that could upset her just as it upset him.
"What-what are you talking about, Sirius?"
He stayed silent and she moved closer to him. If this had something to do with her, she needed to know. She would be bothered if she didn't know.
"Tell me. What is it?" She tugged on his arm.
Sirius moved his arm out of her reach. "It's not my job to tell you, Lynn."
Evelyn's eyebrows creased. She opened her mouth to say something, but the backdoor opened. Both she and Sirius turned around to see Alphard.
"Come on, Sirius. Ezra is leaving and he'll be the one to take you to the Potters." Sirius didn't waste a second to get up and Evelyn followed him behind. She saw Alphard enter the house and she waited for Sirius to do it as well.
However, he turned around and faced her.
At first, she thought he was going to tell her about what the discuss. Her second thought was that he was going to make a snide remark. Sirius, on the other hand, had a different plan.
"Good luck on the debate."
His words made Evelyn smile wide. "Thank you." She responded to him before he entered the house, leaving Evelyn standing on the terrace.
It was odd writing a Christmas chapter (although, I don't celebrate Christmas) at the beginning of July. However, I had fun writing this chapter, especially the last part. Either way, the next chapter will be the debate and with that chapter, we will end this arc of the story. We will be starting one which I have to admit is quite enjoyable. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
: I'm glad that you loved the chapter and it's good to hear that you're finding it intriguing.
Next up, The Debate
P.S. I just realized it's the fourth of July which means it's Evelyn's birthday. So, happy birthday, Evelyn. You are almost close to the age of retirement.
