Kakariko Village, World of Trophies

This small rural town hidden in a split mountain was home to the Sheikah Tribe, a secretive and formidable creed established in ancient Hylian times. They expressed their own eastern-like culture, as well as their own unique style of farming and architecture.

Like other places of residence though, this village was far from immune to the effects caused by the Great Light Convergence.

The villagers had to adjust to the unfamiliar and intermittent travelers that came their way and also deal with the grief of others whose loved ones mysteriously vanished before their eyes.

Despite these circumstances, the tribe still held firm. Not only in their economy and cooperation, but also in their beliefs and resolve.

Kakariko Village Entryway

Ever since the Great Light Convergence, unfamiliar travelers were nothing new to the Sheikah Tribe. However, this next one had a spirit interpreted by the locals as similar to a certain hero they revered.

This traveler had a muscular build and wore a red fighting uniform, complete with a genuine black belt and brown fingerless fighting gloves. He also had long blond hair that went just past his neck.

To the average eye, this man looked like a martial arts warrior no one would want to fight against.

This man's name was Ken Masters, and ever since the Great Light Convergence, he had seized the opportunity to find something familiar about this new world he had been thrust into. Unfortunately for him, this village was the last thing he expected when trying to find familiarity.

He proceeded along the main path when a local guard approached him. "You there!"

Ken stopped his stroll and turned his head. He was first expecting a fight, but also a peace gesture as well.

"What do you want?" Asked the fighter.

"You must be a new traveler around these parts." Surmised the guard. "Most likely a result of that light."

Ken couldn't help but know what he was referring to. "So you saw it too?"

"Indeed." Responded the local. "We've received reports from neighboring towns about their struggles while we have our own."

"I see. What is this place anyway?" Asked Ken.

The guard almost forgot to present the village's own hospitality. "Young man, welcome to Kakariko Village. Follow me. I would like to introduce you to our elder. She will be of some help to you."

Ken followed the guard into the elder's building once he opened the sliding doors. The first thing he saw was a small and elderly female sitting on a pillow tower in deep thought. She was tended to by a young woman in her late teens who shared the elder's silver hair.

"Ah… A new traveler has arrived." Said the elder. "Tell me, young man, what is your name?"

"I'm Ken Masters. Martial Artist and US Martial Arts Tournament Champion." Responded the fighter.

The elder was amused with his response. "I see. You hold the heart of a proud warrior with a lot to prove. Despite the recklessness and tenacity I sense in your tone, you are still pure of heart and wish to do good above all else."

Ken was surprised at her response. "How…?"

"I have known the kinds of personalities and attitudes of countless individuals over the decades." Explained the elder. "You hold the spirit of someone who wishes to become the best warrior above all else."

The street fighter decided to go along with the answer. "You're right on that account, lady. But right now, I wish to find my way around this new world and become familiar with it."

"Indeed." Said the woman as she drank a cup of tea the younger woman handed her. "But are you looking to adapt? Or find something that is familiar to you?"

Ken knew she had him backed into a corner, so he decided to answer truthfully. "I have a few people that are waiting for me. More specifically, my best friend, my master, and my wife."

The woman knew the street fighter had some feelings hidden deep down for his loved ones. "I understand. Your true greatest concern is the people whom you trust the most." '

"Yeah…" Responded Ken. "I just don't know what to do. I've been lost for over a week and until now I haven't found any sort of civilization. I've just been wandering around and training. That's all I've done."

The elder saw the frustration building up inside the fighter. "You have hopes of reuniting with your loved ones once more. Fortunately, I have a feeling that time will come very soon. In the years that I've lived, I never once lost faith in something that I believed."

Ken believed the woman's statement, feeling a sense of comfort from her. Soon, the younger woman came to the room once more and offered a cup of tea.

Seeing the kindness and hospitality given, Ken accepted the offer, sipping the tea to ease his spirits.

"Thank you for this." Said the fighter. "By the way, you never told me your name."

The woman realized she hadn't introduced herself or her associates. "My apologies. My name is Impa, and I am the elder of Kakariko Village. This young maiden here is my granddaughter Paya."

Ken reached out his hand to the elder, indicating a handshake. Unfortunately, Impa was confused by this. The fighter could sense the confusion on the elder's face so he decided to bow instead.

Impa understood the error he made and reciprocated the courtesy.

The elder then sipped another cup of tea her granddaughter gave her before saying something else. "We have an empty house situated down the hillside road. We have a few refugees taking shelter there until they find their own home. I will have Paya lead you there."

Paya, almost on command, responded right away. "Understood, grandmother. I will make sure he gets familiar with this village."

When the younger woman and blonde warrior exited out of the main building, Ken could really see just how bad some of the villagers had it.

Some families were missing, and the remaining members were putting up headstones and shrines. Either to mourn for them, or hope for their safe return.

On the other side, farmers were still growing their food, but since there had been more people, there had been some mild shortages for days.

Paya could see the sense of worry on Ken's face. "It's not normally like this. Kakariko Village is a quiet town during this time of trouble and despite the harrowing challenges we face, we still have enough people to help our community."

Ken felt a little at ease, but still had some trouble adjusting to the setting.

Once they were ascending the hill that led them to the house, an unlikely guest greeted them with sounds of excitement.

"Why do I hear barking and quacking?" Asked Ken.

"Oh don't mind them. They're just one of the handful of refugees we have here." Responded Paya.

A few seconds later, something came running toward Paya at a breakneck speed. Once it was within a close enough distance, it started to nuzzle on her leg and almost knocked her down. Ken got in a fighting stance, but soon realized it was unnecessary after he got a good look at the animals greeting her.

There was a dog that was licking Paya out of love as she started to kneel down and pet him. Meanwhile, the duck that was with the canine was flapping its wings in an attempt to land on the young woman's shoulder, but didn't find anywhere after she stood back up.

"So who's their owner?" Asked Ken out of curiosity.

Paya decided to explain their story. "I want to say myself, but they're an independent two of a kind. They're out for each other. They were lost like the few other refugees, so we took them in. It turns out they have a great affinity for catching balls and discs. However, they also have some rumored odd powers hidden in them too, like kicking a flammable can or summoning a man shooting a type of weapon I've never even seen before. They're just rumors though. Nothing to be worried over."

"I've seen a lot of crazy things in my time, but if those rumors are true, that might take the cake." Said Ken as he was entering the building.

Once Ken entered the building, he knew he walked in on a bad time. Inside the building were two female individuals who were undergoing an exercise session.

One of them had unusually pale skin and was wearing yoga style workout clothes.

The other female had on a set of silver and black armor with long white hair.

They were both doing an exercise routine that had them go into all sorts of positions that would improve the body in the long run. They were about to finish their workout when they were interrupted by the front door opening with a new visitor.

This caused the white haired woman to lose her balance and fall over.

The other pale-skinned woman merely went back to standing position, indicating her immense experience with exercise training.

"Can you knock next time, Paya?" Said the white haired woman as she was getting back up.

"We have a new visitor." Said the younger woman as she led Ken into the room.

The white haired woman was confused, but decided to introduce herself. "My name's Corrin. What's yours?"

"Ken Masters. It's a pleasure to meet you." Responded the street fighter.

The other woman then proceeded to the two talking individuals and decided to greet herself to the blonde warrior as well.

"It's nice to meet you, Ken." Said the woman as she was shaking the fighter's hand. "My name is Emma. I was a fitness trainer before I ended up here."

"I see." Said Ken. "I can tell you've got a lot of experience with yoga and aerobics. I respect that."

Emma was flattered by the compliment before taking a rest on a nearby crate. "I appreciate it, Ken."

She then proceeded to check out the street fighter's muscle build. "I can see you've built up quite the physique. Judging from your uniform, you must be exceptionally experienced in some form of martial arts."

"Your intuition is correct." Answered Ken. "I've trained my body ever since I was 12 to reach this level of strength."

As Ken and Emma were getting along, Corrin was skeptical about Ken and how he acted. Paya, noticing the look of doubt on the hero's face, approached her. "Don't feel so concerned about him, Corrin. My grandmother believes he's a good spirit much like you, Emma, and the duck and dog outside."

The draconic hero realized the reassurance Paya gave her, alleviating much of the worry that was present before. "I see. If Impa's right, I don't see much potential mistrust. However, if he causes harm to any of us, I'll use the Yato to protect my friends until the last breath."

"Understood, Corrin." Replied Paya. "I must report back to my grandmother now. She must be wanting another tea right about now."

A moment later, Paya left, leaving the three refugees in the building, with the dog and duck keeping watch outside.

Over the next few hours, Corrin decided to warm up to the street fighter, as well as telling both him and Emma her lineage and how she can shapeshift into a dragon through the use of special stones she acquired from her adventures.

Emma then explained how she has been experienced in martial arts, piquing Ken's interest. The street fighter then offered to train the fitness trainer on her martial arts abilities, leading to a friendship between the two.

Despite Corrin's doubts, she was beginning to warm up to the street fighter herself.

When the draconic hero decided to approach Ken to converse once more, the group was suddenly interrupted by barking and quacking from outside.

"What is it?" Asked Emma.

"I think they're saying that someone must be here." Responded Corrin.

The trio got out of their house and saw a few Sheikah guards at their door. The leader then stepped out from the rest of the group and looked like he was about to say something. "The elder Impa requires your presence. Do not worry. You all did nothing wrong."

With some worry gone, the group made their way down to the main village building from their hillside house.

When they saw the main village building, they saw that it had at least three dozen Sheikah warriors in stealth gear. They looked like they were ready for some sort of battle.

Once they entered, they all saw Impa and Paya there, but there were also a few scouts that looked vastly different from the Sheikah warriors they saw earlier.

"Please take a seat." Asked Impa.

The group did as she requested and all sat down on the carpeted floor.

The village elder then decided to explain the situation. "I have some news from our neighboring kingdom of Hyrule. According to our scouts here, the new princess of the kingdom has formed an unprecedented alliance with several other powerful forces to combat an enemy known as Galeem. Furthermore, this report states that this powerful being is the one responsible for the Great Light Convergence in the first place."

As soon as the group heard this, murmuring and concern broke out among them. Fortunately, this only lasted them a mere minute, giving enough time for Impa to explain things further. "I realize I cannot force you to take part in this, but the princess has requested our aid against a world ending threat in this trying time. Even if she is not the princess Zelda I know, I am still loyal to the kingdom itself. My remaining warriors are all going to help, but the choice to go with them is up to each of you."

Each of the people in the group realized they all had to make a choice.

Ken, realizing that he can help prevent a world ending threat, undoubtedly made his choice. "I will go with them, Impa. I realize I can help others during this time, but also, I have a feeling I may meet someone I know again."

"I see." Said Impa. "You shall go with them, Ken Masters."

"I'll go with them too." Said Corrin. "Much like Ken here, I've developed a sense of duty in helping others in danger. I won't know what to expect, but that's the life of a hero."

Impa nodded at the warrior, indicating her agreement.

Emma, on the other hand, was thinking of her choices. Part of her wanted to go, but another part of her wanted to stay behind. After a few moments of thinking though, she made her choice. "I realize by doing this, I would be completely out of my element and also putting myself in danger for the foreseeable future. I know I would be risking my life. However, I also feel a sense of ease whenever I'm with Corrin and Ken. They've been a few of the friends I've had the honor of calling ever since the light happened, so I will go with them, and help them end this threat for good."

The dog and duck realized they were the only ones left that hadn't made their choice. Since all of their friends made their choice, it only felt right for them to go along with them. With an excited heart, they went with the trio and took one last look at Impa and Paya, indicating gratitude for taking them in.

Impa and Paya were overseeing preparations before the fighters and Sheikah warriors all got on their horse-drawn wagons to Hyrule.

After enough preparations, the wagons were all situated to head on over to Hyrule to lend the kingdom their aid.

The group realized that if they all didn't live through the next battle, then they may not see the Sheikah citizens that cared so much for them in the time that were there.

With heavy hearts, they all decided to give Impa and Paya goodbye hugs as a profound expression of gratitude.

The elder and her granddaughter were more than happy to receive these hugs.

As they all got on their wagons, the citizens all said their goodbyes with Impa and Paya among them.

As they went farther, Impa decided to say one last thing before returning to her home. "Good luck. May you all be victorious."
