A/N
Usually I try to avoid author's notes like this, but in this case I feel it might be required - basically this is set in the context of between episodes 5 and 6.
Drowning
I stand upon the edge of stream,
Waters shining in the moonlight's gleam.
Along its shore we ever go,
The waters lapping ever fro.
...
Come to a halt within the dark,
A fire started through some sparks.
All three of us sit down in gloom,
While water whispers words of doom.
...
Ever tightening is the band,
Around my not yet bloodied hand.
Truths not yet told, lies not yet found,
Water lapping on the ground.
...
Muted are the night birds' cries.
Mournful under starry skies.
Moon in wane, can't disappear,
Left alone with thoughts and fears.
...
We all turn in, they fall asleep.
Enter dark of night so deep.
Cannot let go, keep open eyes,
Ever hearing water rise.
...
But once they close, the dreams begin,
Replaying memories, thoughts and sins.
And in my mind, a rising tide,
Water, urging to confide.
...
Body, soul, sought by its depths,
Reminding me I'll never rest.
I wake, I start, alone I stand.
Murder's mark still on my hand.
...
And all the while, water flows,
From west to east, where we must go.
See the others, asleep on ground,
Not knowing how I'm being drowned.
