Amity Park was in ruin. Ghosts were attacking, and Vlad was just observing from outside the door of the mayor's office. People were screaming, running, covering their heads with their purses. It was as if they didn't see these blasted things everyday.

Now, it wasn't Vlad's plan this time to unleash havoc onto Amity Park. No devious plans, no petty pranks. He was simply just being today.

No matter, that didn't stop Daniel from breaking into his home, yet again, to accuse him of some conspiracy. The boy really was high strung, blaming the easiest target.

Soon though, Vlad heard a boisterous laugh coming from down the road along with a "Maddie! Check out the insides of this one!"

Vlad sighed, closing his eyes and rubbing the bridge of his nose with his fingers. The oaf simply didn't understand how much of an oaf he was. Constantly causing his family embarrassment and causing quite a bit of property damage himself.

He still didn't understand why Maddie chose Jack of all people.

Suddenly, Vlad heard a yell coming from that direction down the street, sending a jolt of electricity down his spine. Looking up he could see Jack facing off a ghost, who had it's mouth fastened around the gun in Jack's hands.

The ghost pulled harder on the gun, pulling Jack up off the ground with it. It shook its head vigorously, much like a mutt, and sent Jack flying, crashing into some garbage cans.

He was huffing, likely having the air knocked out of him due to that fall.

As Vlad watched Jack, he heard the crunch of metal. He turned to see the ghost with a car in it's clawed fist, getting ready to hurl it at Jack.

In that moment, time slowed down for Vlad. He watched as the ghost flung the car, as it sailed through the air.

Vlad began running, before leaping off the ground, defying gravity. He made it to Jack and grabbed him, turning intangible, just as the car hit the ground where they were lying. Vlad stood and dragged Jack out of the spot where the car landed, dropping him along with the intangibility. Letting out a fierce, inhuman growl, Vlad picked the car up and threw it back at the ghost. It finally fled, leaving the street in an eerie silence.

But only for a moment.

"Vladdie?"

Vlad froze at the hoarse whisper. He slowly turned around to see Jack staring at him in shock. A chill filled his body.

Vlad started backing away, but before he could go anywhere, Jack was up on his feet grabbing onto his wrist.

A man that size should have no right to move that fast.

While injured no less.

"Vlad." Jack said. "What happened?"

Vlad looked up to see Jack looking at him, eyebrows furrowed in concern. His grip wasn't so tight on his wrist anymore and was more tender than restraining.

Could he possibly tell Jack what happened? Vlad knew that he hated ghosts. Sure, he could probably get over his own son being a halfa, but Vlad? The Wisconsin Ghost? Who attempted to kill him?

He couldn't tell Jack. He had to keep it a secret.

Vlad turned intangible, saw Jack's expression change as he realized what was happening, and pulled away.

"Vlad!" Jack yelled.

He backed away from Jack, turning around, pace picking up speed.

"Vlad, no- Vlad what happened? Did a ghost get you? Are you okay?"

Vlad turned invisible and leapt into the air, flying away from Jack's shouts.

Jack didn't need to know that this was his doing anyways.
