AN: Continuing with my plans to write a oneshot for every character, I present to you a story for Lê Chiến Kim (Known generally as Kim in the series.)

"On your marks."

Kim slipped his feet into position. Time slowed as his heartbeat increased and adrenaline flooded his body.

"Get set."

His muscles tensed, ready to spring into action the moment the race began. His companions, the other seven racers from across the globe did the same, their actions almost as one. He resisted the urge to smile as he thought about what his friend Max would say about the probability of this happening.

He gritted his teeth and glared at the track ahead. Now was not the time.

The starting gun fired and he exploded into action.

The crowd was loud, shouting encouragement for their preferred racer. It was deafening, impossible to tell what was said. But as he powered on, the world seemed to go quiet.

Well quiet except for a handful of familiar voices.

"Go on Kim!"

"You can do it Kim!"

"Move it Lê Chiến Kim, you lazy arse!"

"Your times say you can do it Kim. You have the speed and the skills!"

Kim resisted the urge to smile. With the support of his friends and family, how could he fail?

And so he ran on. Not for the glory of an Olympic win, nor the money, nor the admiration of those around him. (Although those would be nice as well, thank you very much)

No he ran for them. And when he passed the finish line with a milimetre lead in the front he allowed himself a smile as he heard their cheers.
