Prologue: The Beginning

...

From the moment she was born, she was left alone. Abandoned by her so-called father, after her mother passed away during childbirth. Losing the only person who loved her more than life itself, so much so that she gave her very soul to ensure her daughter survived the ordeal.

Having been found outside alone on a cold Atlesian winter evening close to death's death. Taken in and place into the ICU for several days, the doctors were ordered to do everything they could to once again, ensure her survival. Even with the most advanced, technology, her condition was exceedingly critical, only a miracle would save her life.

From the very day she was born she fought, to survive her birth, to withstand the harsh winter nights, and now she needed a miracle to live. Oh, how cruel the deities must be, for permitting such a travesty to transpire.

Like mother, like daughter, she was a fighter through and through with an indomitable will to survive.

After a miraculous recovery, she was taken in by the one who had found her. James Ironwood, General of the Kingdom of Atlas, and the one who provided her the opportunity to live, ensuring her mother's sacrifice to not be in vain. James supplied her with everything she needed to grow into the fighter she was meant to be.

Ruby Rose.

From the day she began to speak, she called her savior, daddy, in respect for everything he had done for her and continued to do. She was always acutely aware of certain things even from a very young age. She would occasionally receive flashes of when she was just born, lying in her dying mother's arms, or flashes of being abandoned by the man who helped create her.

She could never forget her mother's last words just before the light departed her glassy unfocused eyes.

"Thus kindly I scatter,"

Her cries could be heard throughout the hospital.

At first, Ruby couldn't understand why James made her undergo such a strict exhaustive training regimen, she would later learn that her daddy had also raised her mother as well.

Ohh, how cruel the gods are!

Her training would continue day in day out, every week, of every month, of every year, for multiple years. Her next most notable memory was when she was with her daddy, having come along with him to the Atlas Academy for business. That day he was expecting a visit from a good friend of his, who was bringing his youngest daughter with him, giving her someone to play with while her daddy was doing business with his friend, Jacques Schnee.

Weiss Schnee.

From the moment Ruby saw her, she knew they would forever be the greatest of friends, that nothing would ever get in between them, not Fate, not Destiny, nor the Deities. Ruby would never allow another loved one to leave her alone again.

She didn't want to be left alone.

Ruby and Weiss would visit each other countless times over the years, their friendship would only continue to grow until it hit a climax and began to blossom into romance, which started as modest crushes. Both of them would then attend the same training school, a prerequisite for one to become a Huntress. Ruby was glad for the grueling training regimen her daddy had put her through, allowing her to attend the same year as her crush, even though she was two years younger.

Weiss and Ruby would excel in their academics, as well as their combat capabilities, they had exceptional teamwork together, knowing what the other would do before they did it. Their apparent compatibility was speculated to be a connection via their souls by numerous scientists. Once, their connection was referred to as a Soul-Bond which caused both of them to turn scarlet. A Soul-bond was a mythical connection between two people that was considered to be the zenith of true love.

When it came it time for them to graduate from the Combat School, they were inseparable, one would never leave the other's side, opting to just go and do everything together. Their already perfect teamwork was a great boon for them to be able to take on significantly more powerful adversaries, they were also able to use their Semblances in tandem after years of training to learn their limits and the other's limits.

They had talked about what Academy they wanted to attend, in the end, they decided to stay in Atlas where their families were, their home. Their first of three years began slowing, luckily the upcoming Vytal Tournament would add some excitement to their first year. Ruby and Weiss upped their training to have the best chances of winning the Tournament. One caveat to joining an Academy was that they had been assigned two more teammates.

That's year's Vytal Tournament was set to take place in the Kingdom of Vale, hosted by the Beacon Academy, and it's headmaster Ozpin. The same school that her mother decided to attend after Atlas, and from what her daddy had explained, her stepsister, Yang was attending Beacon. Her daddy had also explained that her mother, while she was still alive, cared greatly for Yang.

From an early age, she never felt the need to know her stepsister. It didn't matter to her if Summer had loved Yang like her own child. None of that mattered to her. That did not stop her daddy or lover from encouraging her to get to know her sister. Ruby wouldn't force it to happen, not wanting to half-heart it and destroying any chance of a relationship they could establish in the future.

But, Ruby, in the end, couldn't care less about Yang, she had her Savior and she found her Salvation.

The students from Atlas, Vacuo, and Mistral would arrive at Vale at different times, though Atlas and its students would be the first to arrive. Ruby, Weiss, and their teammates would be taken to Vale earlier than their peers would. They were escorted by Weiss' sister, someone that Ruby saw as an older sister figure, and hopefully one day they would be real sisters.

From the very moment they landed in Vale, their stay was plagued with trouble. The White Fang, a brutal terrorist organization consisting of nothing more than a bunch of genocidal rabid animals, with the goal of eradicating the entire human populous. The group seems hell-bent on causing the most trouble for both the Kingdom of Atlas and the Schnee Dust Company. Weiss, being the Heiress of the SDC, after Winter decided to devote her life to Atlas' Military, will one day inherit the family company.

Ruby and Co. stumbled upon the White Fang robbing the Vale docks, cargo crates full of Dust from the SDC. The small detachment of the WF was led by a notorious criminal by the name of Roman Torchwood. Only to be interrupted by a man with a monkey tail, and a woman with cat ears, their Faunus, they confronted the WF about their alliance with the Human criminal scum.

A fight soon broke out, leading Ruby and her team to intervene, surprising the WF, Roman, and the duo. They ended it as swiftly as they could, Ruby and Weiss working in tandem slaughtering as their teammates, Penny and Ciel destroyed any ships leaving or arriving with reinforcements. Both duos had their own names, WhiteRose and ClockWork, respectively of course. After destroying most of the ships, Penny and Ciel assisted with the remaining ground troops(Read: Cannon Fodder). By the end, the majority of the WF was either laying in their blood missing multiple limbs, frozen to death with multiple punctures in their bodies, having their bodies and souls de-atomized by several ionized energy pulses, and finally, torn apart by the primordial force of time itself.

They allowed the more high profile of the WF to live but made they couldn't do anything foolish, such as escaping. They cut their feet and hands off, then cauterized them to ensure they survived the ordeal. Speaking of escaping, the monkey and cat were defeated by the notorious, Roman Torchwood, which allowed him the chance to escape.

Both Ruby and Weiss had half a mind to kill the two Faunus for their failure and the cat Faunus' previous affiliation with the WF, not at all worried about getting caught if they did so. After all, accidents happen all the time which often result in fatal casualties. Neither were they worried about their teammates betraying them.

Before they had decided to act or not, the Vale police arrived, long after the fight was done and over with, they were severely incompetent, and useless if there were ever truly needed. Ruby asked Penny to contact James and tell him they had some voluntary informants that were dying to talk. At one point, the worthless police attempted to take their guests but were rebuffed by both Weiss and Penny, citing their guests were criminals of the Kingdom of Atlas and were known to be in affiliation with the Terrorist organization; The White Fang.

Ruby always thought Weiss became more attractive when she became all serious and begin to rant like she was currently doing now at the incompetent Vale police force.

A few minutes pass and several people arrived, Beacon students by the look of it. Only two of them caught her attention though, one was her stepsister, the other was a girl named Pyrrha Nikos, the rest of the group was insignificant and irrelevant to her. Though one of the boys were getting on her nerves by the way he was staring at her lover, who didn't seem to notice his existence. Yang and the cat Faunus seemed to know each other by the way they greeted each other. It was only later when Ruby and her team were being retrieved by a group of Atlas Soldiers, that Yang noticed Ruby and her striking resemblance to the woman she considered her mother.

While James himself was not in Vale, he had sent numerous companies of soldiers to Vale in preparation for the Vytal Tournament. James would be arriving shortly with the students, bringing along a few contingents of airships with him for security.

Ruby, Weiss, Penny, and Ciel would then travel to the upper-class area of Vale, where a Manor that Ruby and Weiss had bought for themselves was located. Ruby and Weiss would share the Master Bedroom, while Penny and Ciel received their own rooms in the Manor. When Ruby and Weiss were first introduced to their new teammates upon joining the Academy, they were a little skeptical of them, but Weiss got on well with Ciel, while Ruby got along with Penny exceptionally well. There were no secrets between them, such as Penny being an android or the relationship Weiss and Ruby had. They trusted each other unconditionally.

Ruby's small family grew with the addition of Ciel and Penny, and they official become Team Wrcw.

When James arrived, it was time for the second semester to began, team Wrcw joined their peers on the shuttles to Beacon. While the architecture was beautiful, the classes were dreadful, having learned most, if not all of the material in Atlas' Combat School. At one point, James had requested their assistance, something about a stolen Prototype Atlas Mecha going berserk in the middle of Vale, a short shuttle thanks to Atlas, they didn't even need to be dropped off; Weiss, Ciel, and Penny worked together to destroy it in one shot from their ship.

Sparring with the different teams from all across the world, more than made up for Beacon's lackluster school material. Even when they were going easy, none but a couple could compete, though, from the ones that could, most of them were from Atlas, which spoke volumes of the other Kingdoms' Academies.

Ruby was disappointed in her stepsister's combat abilities and anger problems. And from what she read from the Atlesian database, Yang was also a registered sex offender, among other things. Why Headmaster Ozpin would allow Yang's admission into Beacon was beyond her comprehension.

Pyrrha Nikos, on the other hand, was as great as she was proclaimed to be. Four-time winner of the Mistral Regional tournament; graduated top of her class in Argus. Ruby knew Weiss was a fan of the Mistralian maiden, maybe they could work something out. The only problem is Pyrrha seems interested in that obnoxious blond boy, that doesn't seem to know when to quit or how to fight it seems, another blight on Beacon's reputation. Also knowing Headmaster Ozpin was interested in Pyrrha for a different reason.

Speaking of the irritating Blond boy, John or other was persisted on escorting Weiss to the Gala, to the point of serenading her one evening. Ruby escorted Weiss, while Penny escorted Ciel to the dance. Ruby and Penny switched partners, dancing with each other also. Ruby saw that Pyrrha was all alone, not having a date for the evening, so she volunteered/recommended Weiss. The Blond boy oddly never arrived at the dance. By the end of the night, Ruby and Weiss got more than a few dances with Pyrrha, Weiss was over the moon for the rest of the night, Ruby liked Pyrrha's company as well. Pyrrha must have appreciated their time together by the way she continued to associate with them after the dance.

The next morning, James informed Ruby and Co. about a security breach last night, also informing them that he suspected that the thief was masquerading as a student, and be careful of who they associate with.

Having been exempted from participating in the Student-Teacher school event, Team Wrcw along with Pyrrha and her friend and teammate Nora, found themselves shopping in the Upper-Class region of Vale. After shopping a few hours, they decided to take a rest at a restaurant Weiss' family owns. They were allowed to order anything they wanted, and so, Nora surprised them by requesting her body weight in pancakes, she then consumed said pancakes.

Team Wrcw lost their appetites at the spectacle they just witnessed, Pyrrha sent them an apologetic look in response. They were interrupted by an emergency siren, quick to react, Ruby came up with a plan, with the help of Penny, Ceil, Weiss, and Pyrrha they were able to arrive there is less than a minute.

The upcoming battle would go down as the most notable world event for quite some time. Inner Vale was completely overrun by thousands of Grimm, the incompetent Police force had actually formed a perimeter around Inner Vale and was holding all of the Grimm back, or so they were led to believe. The Grimm were waiting for more of them to arrive into the already cramped district. This was the sight that greeted Ruby and the others.

Luckily that area of Vale was deemed as a lost cause by the Vale Council, sanctioning its destruction by any means necessary. Which made Ruby's job a lot simpler, it allowed her and her team to go all out, not having to worry about collateral damage for once. James had informed Penny, that he was allowing, no commanding Team WRCW to resolve this incursion before it got any more out of control.

All limiters were released in light of this battle, commencing the beginning of the end.

Less than four minutes later, there were no Grimm left, hell there wasn't anything left to be seen in what used to be Inner Vale. Their entire crusade was recorded by the Vale Council and Atlas Military.

They were warriors.

The Vytal tournament would pit four-man teams against each other in the beginning. Both, Pyrrha's team and Yang's team would advance to the next stage of the tournament. Duo vs Duo, Pyrrha's team nominated Pyrrha and the blond boy for the next stage. Yang's team would nominate, herself and some girl, Ruby didn't care enough to remember her name.

Winter would arrive shortly after their first battle. Ruby and Weiss went to greet her, after some formalities, Winter congratulated them on both the Incursion and their flawless battles, which filled them with satisfaction, before hitting them on their heads, causing them to hold their heads in pain as large bumps formed.

Winter then began to escort, Ruby and Weiss, to the Headmasters office, where James and their missing teammates were waiting for them at.

They were interrupted by a man, having destroyed Atlas' new androids, causing them to turn around and look at said man, they noticed that he was severely intoxicated, just by the way his awful stench wafted through the air.

He went on some ramble about how Atlas, or more specifically how James somehow turned his back on Ozpin and then began insulting Winter and other Atlas Specialists.

When he was finished with his rant, Winter instructed the two of them to apprehend the man, knowing she wasn't powerful enough to do so.

The two of them walked towards the man known as Qrow, the man never once spared them a glance not considering them a threat. Rather than man continued to insult Winter.

"Too scared to arrest me yourself, huh?" Qrow taunted Winter as he stumbled for a moment.

"No, not scared. Just tactical." Winter said with a smirk, confusing the man.

Qrow finally acknowledged their existence just as they got close enough to act. Qrow looked stunned when he laid his eyes on Ruby, affording them the perfect opportunity to seize him.

From the moment Qrow destroyed the two androids, a crowd began to form around them to watch the spectacle, consisting of students from each of the Four Kingdoms, including Atlas. When the Headmaster's daughter and the Schnee Heiress moved to apprehend the obviously intoxicated man, the Atlas students moved closer in case they were needed, having heard what the man said about their Headmaster, soldiers, and Specialists.

Winter had the man escorted to one of their ships, to be held until James decided what to do him with. Arriving at the base of Beacon's tower, they entered an elevator that would take them to their destination. As the elevator opened, Ruby recalled seeing her daddy with Ciel and Penny standing behind him. In front of James were Headmaster Ozpin and a blond woman she knew to be Glynda. Neither of them had pleasant looks on their faces.

After discussing any new information they had, like the breach that occurred during the dance or the Incursion and possible WF connections. Ruby held Weiss back when Ozpin explained his plan for Pyrrha to bear the curse of being host to the Maiden's power. Ozpin called Pyrrha to his office to explain his plan to her.

No Maiden has ever died of old age, not even the originals.

The semi-finals begin, Yang and her teammate, battle a team from Atlas; Neon and Flynt. Yang achieves a narrow victory over the Atlas team, qualifying for the finals. Pyrrha makes it to the finals, having to figuratively and literally carry the blond boy to the finals.

The day before her solo match, Pyrrha decides to accept Ozpin's plan, making her half a Maiden. Both Ruby and especially Weiss tried to persuade Pyrhha against becoming the Spring Maiden. They told Pyrrha they would always be there if she needed anything, they received a loving smile in response.

Yang started the Finals off against a boy named Mercury, having won the battle, Yang then decides to viciously attack Mercury, mortally wounding him, his aura not protecting him, it having been shattered at the end of the battle. The result was Yang being taken into custody by Atlas and disqualified from the Vytal tournament. Ozpin must have pulled some strings, as Yang was back in Beacons not soon after, though she was still disqualified.

Ruby was dissatisfied with her sister's actions.

The fall of Beacon would occur just the next day, following the end of Pyrrha's battle against Penny, oddly enough, Pyrrha forfeited during the climax of their battle. What followed the Fall, would forever be remembered in the history books, The downfall of Vale.

When the Grimm invaded they assaulted the CCT center, cutting all long-range communications, which ensured James wasn't able to contact Atlas for reinforcements. Beacon was lost before nightfall, James held Vale for several days, but the Grimm finally made a push to take Vale before reinforcements arrived. They held Vale as long as necessary, so everyone could be evacuated, but soon, t too was overrun by Tens of thousands of Grimm. This amount of Grimm has never been seen before, when the remaining three Kingdoms heard of what happened they began to move troops to their borders leading to Vale, reinforced by Atlas troops.

Patch wasn't excluded from the evacuation efforts.

Even with Atlas' assistance, there were thousands of casualties, students, civilians, and warriors alike. Most notable amongst them were Headmaster Ozpin and Adam Taurus. Ruby found Yang severely injured, last she heard Yang was evacuated with the Mistralians. While it might seem harsh, if Yang overcomes her... predicament, Ruby would reconsider establishing a relationship with her sister.

One down, three to go.

Ruby and her team were some of the last ones to be evacuated, working with the Atlesian Soldiers, Specialists, and foreign Huntsmen to hold the Grimm back from the evacuees. When it was time to flee, they traveled back to Atlas with James and Winter. While they fought like soldiers, they were still students in the end and needed to finish their education. Something that James, Winter and the rest of Weiss' family appreciated exceedingly.

Not much would transpire for the rest of their first year back in Atlas, except for Vacuo, Atlas, and Mistral attempting to reclaim Vale from the Grimm, as well as attempting to reach Menagerie, where the White Fang resided, though all attempts were thwarted by aerial Grimm and White Fang members. This resulted in the Three Kingdoms to recognize the White Fang, Menagerie and its citizens as criminals for its undeniable cooperation with Life's Greatest Enemy.

Unaware to the rest of the world, Menagerie would go through an ideological upheaval and transformation. Most saw Adam as a martyr. Depending on which side succeeds in gaining power, it would determine the destiny of all life on Remnant...

Their second-year would begin peaceably as if the year previous hadn't occurred, except for the stray Grimm being more aggressive than the years prior. After failing to retake any significant ground, Vacuo and Mistral instead began to continuously reinforce their borders with more, and more troops, Soldiers and Huntsmen alike. Atlas while not having any borders to protect, installed several bases along Vacuo's and Mistral's established borders and supplying them with state of the art Atlesian technology and logistics.

It was just before the beginning of the third semester of their second year that Mistral would be assaulted by the White Fang. The White Fang succeeded in their goals; killing Headmaster Lionheart, destroying Haven's infrastructure, and sowing animosity and anguish. The last attracted the Grimm in hoards, while also causing them to be more powerful. What remained of the Mistralian Huntsmen slowing began to retreat northwards to Argus.

Two down, two to go.

Atlas sent relief efforts to hopefully assist the Mistralians. Though James had another reason for helping them, with Headmaster Lionheart dead, Haven most likely destroyed in the ensuing chaos, and Mistral on the verge of collapse, James needed to swiftly organize a party for a mission to Haven Academy before the entire Anima continent was lost.

It was just a few hours before Ruby, her team, Winter, and a few veteran Soldiers were supposed to leave for Haven Academy, that a foreign unidentified vessel entered Atlas' restricted airspace. This caused the air fleet stationed above and around Atlas to mobilize for possible opposition. Atlas attempted to hail the vessel multiple times but never received a response. As the vessel continued to approach, Atlas began issuing warnings to the vessel, to turn around or be shot out of the air. Just as one of the airships were preparing to fire, they finally received a response containing only one word. The vessel was then allowed into Atlas, escorted by several Atlesian vessels.

Relic.

James along with Ruby was waiting at the platform where the unknown vessel was being escorted to. Winter, Ruby's team, and numerous soldiers waited behind in case something was to transpire. When the ship landed, a black-haired woman, who Ruby knew to be Raven Branwen, stepped slowing out of the ship holding the Relic Of Knowledge up in the air, following behind her were several people Ruby recognized.

Not needing to send Ruby to Haven to retrieve the Relic, Ruby, her team, plus a few new students finished up their second year without any more trouble. When they began their third year, Ruby and Weiss began discussing with James about the Maidens, or more specifically, the Summer Maiden and the Winter Maiden. They knew Cinder had half of the Fall Maiden's power, and James knew the Spring Maiden was somewhere in Anima. They also wanted to know why the remaining two Maidens were doing nothing to combat the Grimm.

By the end of the first semester of their final year, James informed them that he had the locations of the Maidens, as well as good news and bad news. The good news was that they were here in Atlas, as for the bad news, the Maidens were nothing more than little maidens themselves.

Ruby, Weiss, and James unknowingly had three and a half Maidens in Atlas.

Atlas would lose its ability to communicate with Vacuo by the time Ruby began her final semester but knew that Vacuo was still holding strong.

A few weeks before Ruby's and Weiss' graduation, not that it meant much anymore, they volunteered for their final mission. The mission called for a small team of four people; Ruby, Weiss, Raven, and Pyrrha. Their destination was Vacuo Academy, their objective was to retrieve the final Relic, as James received a message from the Headmaster of Vacuo.

Arriving at Vacuo, it could only be called chaotic. When they finally found the Headmaster, or rather Headmistress, who was fighting with her Huntsmen against the Grimm. She handed Ruby a Sword, only to be interrupted by Cinder. Raven and Vacuo's headmistress stayed to fight Cinder, allowing Ruby, Weiss, and Pyrrha to return to their transport.

The Gods never allow it to be that simple.

After battling and killing two men, the three of them finally returned to the ship. When they entered they found Raven laying of the floor on the brink of death. Ruby doesn't remember much as she looked into Raven's eyes.

Ruby awoke two weeks later in Atlas. Weiss and Pyrhha by her side when she woke up. She learned that Raven had died, Vacuo was wiped off the map, and that they had accomplished their objective. Ruby immediately realized that the Spring Maiden was with them the entire time and that she was now the Spring Maiden and the Summer Maiden. Ruby then spent the night with Weiss and Pyrrha after being released from the infirmary. If they were to die, she wanted them to die connected.

Three down, one to go.

Graduation soon arrived, Ruby knew it didn't have the same meaning it used to when the world was still whole, but she believed that it helped to believe in something, anything. It gives people a purpose, a goal to work towards, a reason not to give up. There weren't much of those around anymore. Not that it would mean much when it all ended...

The Gods must hate her so.

Graduation was supposed to be a happy occurrence, but when tens of thousands of aerial Grimm arrived with the White Fang. Ruby knew that a lot of people were going to die that day, and she was going to make sure to kill, slaughter, and murder as many as she could to avenge the ones that couldn't be saved.

Four down.

Ruby did as she said she would, she slaughtered every hostile Faunus, Animal that invaded Atlas on the day she's been expecting for ages. There were countless more causalities than Ruby anticipated, chief amongst them was her daddy and Yang. Ruby would only allow herself to mourn after she killed all of the remaining aerial Grimm, and she had more than enough raw power to do it, and enough pent up emotion to assist her in doing so.

Why must the Gods despise her so?

Recovering from the failed invasion, Winter, while young was promoted to Ruby's late father's position. Winter then called a private meeting to discuss a plan that James had thought up and prepared for if they chose to go along with it.

A boy named Oscar approached Ruby two weeks after the invasion, claiming to be Ozpin. Not wanting to listen to Ozpin, Ruby immediately sliced off Oscar's head, without a care in the world.

Ruby blamed Ozpin for everything.

Two weeks after murdering Oscar, Ruby awoke in the middle of the night, surrounded by several tantalizing bodies. Ruby gently untangled herself from Weiss' and Pyrrha's exposed bodies, she quietly began to prepare for the upcoming onslaught. She knew their odds of survival were almost nonexistent, but she was a fighter from the very moment of her birth. She would do everything in her power, so the ladies sleeping on the bed behind her could live for another day. She'd never give up in the face of opposition.

James always said she had her mother's personality.

Having suited up, Ruby stared at the four Relics laid out before her, having retrieved the Staff of Creation from Atlas' Vault. She knew that they would be needed for the upcoming fight with Salem. Salem betrayed the Faunus, knowing that they would fail, most of the warriors were with the invasion force, leaving Menagerie mostly unguarded. Salem used them, then discarded them when they lost their purpose. The Faunus was played from the beginning... No, the entire world has been following Salem's tune without realizing it. Ozpin considered himself a Chessmaster, but he was nothing more than a Marinette being tugged around by Salem.

Klaxons began to blaring throughout Atlas, causing the other occupants of the room to shift around. Ruby placed the Diadem on her head, the Sword on her left hip, the Staff in the small of her back. Ruby felt the Relics' power flow through her, enhancing her already extraordinary power. Unknown to Ruby, every time she attached another Relic unto her person, she would flash gold, when all three were on her, her body began to continuously give off a golden aura.

One more final mission.

Weiss and Pyrhha had awakened when they felt their shared lover leave their embrace, they watched Ruby prepare. The sounds of Klaxons going off tore their attention away from Ruby, only for three pulses of golden light to envelop the room, their recently awakened bedmates ceased their actions. All of them stared at Ruby's ethereal form.

Ruby stared at the Lamp, not knowing what would happen when all four Relics were reunited. She shrugged, the Lamp had no use, the wishes having long been used in search of information. Nothing, no matter what they asked or how they asked it, they were unable to ascertain a way to overcome Salem.

The End was imminent.

Ruby left, meeting up with General Winter. Neither of them spoke, there was no need to, they would either succeed or they would fall. All or Nothing. Ruby nodded to Winter before she went forward, she would be the first to fire a shot, causing more to follow in its wake.

Ruby would destroy most of the first wave, her friends would easily find her by all of the power she was outputting. They would continue to defend Atlas for several hours until sunrise, Ruby suddenly left the front lines causing her friends to follow her. Arriving at a retired military building, Penny and Ciel would stay behind to guard the entrance preventing any Grimm from following Ruby.

Ruby sent them a smile tinged with sorrow.

Ruby, Weiss, and Pyrrha would travel below ground, only to find Cinder waiting for them, Pyrrha stayed behind to deal with Cinder, to see which one deserved to be the Fall Maiden. Ruby and Weiss would continue onwards until they reach the person that started all of this. A fight would ensue once they found Salem, even if Winter was able to defeat all of the incoming Grimm, the amount of power they were casually throwing around would destroy Atlas.

Even with Ruby being the Summer and Spring Maiden, having three of the four relics, and her possessing Silver Eyes, she wasn't able to keep up with Salem casual show of power. Weiss wasn't fairing any better even when she received the Fall Maiden Powers from Pyrrha, she began slowing down which resulted in Salem sending a devastating attack at her. Ruby tried to block or deflect the attack but she was too late, it having struck Weiss.

Ohh how the Gods must hate all that's good in this world!

Ruby held Weiss in her arms as she began to fade from existence. Weiss' power flowed into Ruby upon her death. Salem and Ruby continued their fight, but she was still having trouble keeping up with Salem. Ruby didn't understand, she had all of Ozma's power and three Relics, she shouldn't be having issues fighting against Salem.

In the end, she couldn't keep her promise.

Ruby saw a flash of gold out the corner of her eye, she saw that it was the last Relic, she wondered how it how got here but she then recalled seeing it on Weiss before they had started fighting with Salem. She raced towards it, placing it on her right hip. Ruby didn't know what would happen, but she didn't have much of a choice if nothing else she had to hold Salem back for as long as she could.

Ruby didn't expect the Relics to disappear into her body, though. Not worrying about it, Ruby began fighting Salem again. She was able to finally match blow for blow with Salem. Ruby realized that her power began to further increase, far exceeding Salem's power. Ruby could feel the inside of her body begin to heat up, causing her to feel severe pain. Ruby felt her body breaking down, not being able to handle her the amount of power she had.

Ruby knew that she wasn't going to survive much longer, not that she cared, having lost everything.

Grimm began flooding the room, positioning themselves around Ruby and next to Salem. Ruby knew what that meant, but didn't want to think on it. Ruby felt the ground below her feet begin to tremble, which could only mean one thing, Atlas had been overrun by Grimm and that Winter had triggered James' plan before she died, or is dying.

They had failed to save Remnant, and what better way to have the final revenge than to destroy Remnant itself.

Macro-implementation of the Scorched Earth Policy.

Ruby pushed as much of her ever-increasing power as she could into her short legs, she jumped towards Salem with her slightly golden Scythe.

Her final act would be killing Salem.

Ruby let go of her Scythe before falling to her knees, coughing up copious amounts of blood on the ground. She felt the air around her heating up rapidly, falling to her side she rolled over onto her back.

Ruby's mind began to drift, the thought that she may be the last living soul on Remnant. She quickly realized that she was unable to move her limbs, black splodges began appearing in her fading vision. The last thing she recalls seeing before her vision vanished, was a bright white light.

'I guess none of it mattered in the end; I was born alone... and I'll die alone.'

And with that, her conscience began to fade.

Void

Opening her eyes, Ruby found herself standing, surrounded by pure white light. Looking around, she saw a decorative crimson Throne not that far away. She slowly approached it, not knowing what else to do in this void she found herself in. She sat down on the uncomfortable looking Throne.

"Ahh!" Ruby moaned, she knew looks could be deceiving, but she never expected the Throne to feel so comfortable. It reminds her of that thing Weiss does with her tongue and semblance. Ohh, how delightful! The Throne made her feel full, complete, whole; as if it was made specifically for her.

"It was." A dark-purple humanoid figure declared as he materialized before her. The figure didn't have many characteristics, besides being tall, slim, and having segmented horns that laid upon his head.

A frown appeared on the figure's face.

"I see that you do not kneel before God." The figure noted with a slight rise in his tone.

Ruby's eyes narrowed as she crossed her legs upon her Throne.

"I bow to no man; I certainly don't kneel before any God," Ruby said in disdain, she'd never bow to any God that allowed such travesties to befall her and her world.

Ruby had no doubt this figure was a God. She wouldn't delude herself, she died before arriving here. And she knew the Gods had the ability to bring someone back from death.

A larger gold figure appeared next to the other.

"Peace, Brother. She is no different than us, now." The gold figure said placatingly to his apparent brother.

Ruby internally rolled her eyes, having already grown tired of this farce. Though her ears did catch what the second figure said.

The larger figure turned his attention towards Ruby.

"Greeting, Ruby Rose-Schnee-Nikos! I am The God Of Light and next to me is my Brother, The God Of Darkness!" The God Of Light greeted grandiosely.

Ruby wasn't amused by their theatrics. Though she did raise a delicate eyebrow at her unnecessary lengthy surname, and she didn't appreciate the reminder of what she has suffered.

The Gods must have noticed her unamused facial expression by the way they shifted their bodies.

"The same being that allowed Ozma to play God on Remnant?" Ruby remarked patiently.

The God of Light slowly nodded in confirmation.

"That's correct."

"The same God that allowed Salem to play Goddess on My World ?" She asked rhetorically with a slight shift in her tone.

The God of Light didn't like was she was alluding to but nodded none the less.

"That's correct."

"And why should I listen to anything you have to say?" Ruby challenged. It was a legitimate question, everything that occurred to her world could be traced back to The ohh so Wise God Of Light.

"I admit, I've made many mistakes, but I-"

"-Only did it with the best intentions. I know, I've heard that line before, and it's just as obnoxious as I remember." Ruby interrupted. The last person she heard spew that line, she had sliced their head off, thereafter.

'I like this fiery Goddess' temperament.' The God Of Darkness thought, enjoying the scornful woman's apparent discourtesy to his Brother.

Ruby stood from her Throne, glaring hatefully at The God Of Light, contorting her beautiful visage.

"But it doesn't matter what your intentions were! For they do nothing for me now; except further increasing my outrage!" She screamed brimming with resentment.

Ruby closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Planting her modest rear back onto her Throne, recrossing her legs she gazed calmly at the Brothers in front of her once more.

"I apologize, my emotions got the better of me." The Goddess spoke sincerely.

The God Of Darkness took a step forward before kneeling to one knee.

Seeing his Brother's unexpected actions, The God Of Light quickly followed suit.

"I recognize that my Brother has made his fair share of mistakes, and the blight it caused upon your world. But, I too, had a hand in Salem's circumstance. All I can do is plead for your forgiveness, for both myself and my Brother." The God Of Darkness bowed his head.

Ruby wasn't all that stunned that the so-called Evil God was apologizing for both himself and his Brother. Knowing things weren't always so black and white.

"I know, I saw into Ozma's history. But I do not blame you for what has transpired to my world. I'll forgive the both of you, but I'll never forget what your Brother's activities caused." Ruby declared. Forgiving is the easy part, forgetting, on the other hand, wasn't so easy; nor should it be.

The two Brother stood up, the Dark Brother nodded at the Goddess in understanding, he would have done no different if he was her. One should never forget what has befallen them.

"Then allow me the opportunity to make it up to you." The God of Light boldly claimed.

"I'm listening..."

Percy Jackson Universe

A large spike of power could be felt throughout the world of Gods, throwing every Pantheon into a frenzy to find out who or what had caused it.

Ruby suddenly found herself plummeting through the Heavens. She used her Maiden powers to give her greater control over her trajectory and velocity. Breaking through the clouds, she got a glimpse of what she concluded to be a large forest.

Needing to use her Maidens' power sparingly, she instead began using her modified cloak to guide her descent into the forest, through the various trees. Just before striking the ground, she released her cloak and positioned her legs below her, embued with a slight amount of Aura.

With a resounding thud and an oddly satisfying crunch, she landed in the forest.

Not noticing the strange glowing Crystal next to her feet.

"How utterly exhilarating! I haven't done anything like that since I jumped off Beacon's Tower during the Vytal Tournament." Ruby cheered as she leaped into the air.

With a slight widening of her eyes, she twisted her tiny body mid-air and swung her Crescent Rose downwards with as much force as she could muster, slicing through something in the process. Utilizing her momentum, she flipped herself over her weapon, skillfully landing on her feet with Crescent Rose behind her back, her arms slung around it, giving her an imposing look to those spectating her.

Glancing around herself, Ruby found herself encircled by a pack of quadrupedal wolves. They reminded her of Alpha Beowolves greatly with the same glaring crimson eyes, just without the bone plating to act as protection. They were ever so slightly larger in size, Ruby idly mused.

The sound of their low growling was the only thing that could be heard throughout the meadow. They all at once charged at her, hoping to use their numerical advantage to overwhelm her.

A smirk blossomed on Ruby's face.

Crouching low to the ground, she swung her head downwards causing the hood of her cloak to obscure her face. Hopping into the air, Ruby slashed at the closest wolf at an angle, she then skillfully fired her beauty causing her to begin spinning in the air, she began slicing through the other wolfs, firing when needed to increase her velocity.

Her delicate feet touched the ground, folding her weapon she holstered it on her back. Ruby glanced around, seeing black dust in the air, on the ground were these odd glowing crystals. They had no meaning to her, as Grimm never left anything behind except grief.

Turning towards where she first fired her weapon at, where she knew her two spectators were at.

"I do hope the two of you have no ill intentions towards me," Ruby said loudly.

Two people stepped out, the first was a beautiful girl around the age of thirteen, she had long auburn colored hair pulled back into a braided ponytail, bright silver orbs that reminded Ruby of the moon. She wears a simple silver tunic with black leggings.

The second was a woman that was very easy on the eyes, she had long black hair, pulled back into a ponytail that rested over her right shoulder next to her breasts. Her eyes reminded Ruby of a terrible Atlesian storm. She wore an elegant flowing blue robe, that exposed quite a bit of skin. She had a decorative gold crown upon her head.

They were no Weiss or Pyrrha, but Ruby found them to be very attractive, remarkably so.

Slowing walking up to the auburn-haired girl, which caused the two of them to stiffen slightly, Ruby stopped a foot away.

"You remind me of my mother, not that I knew her." Ruby shrugged exhaustedly, before falling headfirst into the girl's modest chest.

Artemis wrapped her arms around the unconscious young woman in her arms. The young woman was a lot lighter than she expected her to be. Artemis grew embarrassed when she realized when the lady's head was.

"Incredible." The Athena commented referring to the scene that they just saw, causing Artemis to glance at her with a light blush on her face.

Author's Note:

This is my First Story on Fanfiction, will definitely make mistake(s). Such as being confused for over 30 minutes about the Spacing. Not having the Summary in the Story or this Author's Note, for example. Simple things like that. I originally made this as a basis of what I could write and could not write. A Foundation for what to write after this Chapter, so to speak. So, it may go between several perspectives at certain points, as I wanted to... emphasize specific events that occurred, which I would then later add to continuously as I write this story. So I wouldn't have to come up with her past without something to base it on first. Definitely not making that mistake! Nope! But in the end, I uploaded it with the Chapter. I was too lazy to summarize the... Summary/Synopsis again, so it came out as almost 8 thousands words.

...

I'll try to update this every week, around 2-3 thousand words depending on my muse. But I do have another Story on another Site that I'm currently writing, which take precedence. Though, all that depends on how well this does on here, so whatever.
