Prologue

A long time ago in a land far away, there was the kingdom of Fiore, a small peaceful nation of 17 million people, and a place filled with magic. Found in every home, bought and sold in every marketplace, for most, magic is merely a tool, a mundane part of everyday life. For some, however, magic is an art, and they have devoted their lives to its practice. These are the wizards and mages. Banded together into magical guilds, they applied their skills in search of fame and fortune. Many such guilds even dotted the landscape of Fiore. But there was a certain guild in a certain town that soared high above the rest, one from which countless legends had been born, a guide that, with no doubt, continued to create legends well into the future. Its name was simply Fairy Tail...

Beyond this humble little nations lay its fellow neighbours in Earth Land; from Bosco to Minstrel, from Iceberg to Desierto, from Bellum to the Pergrande Kingdom, and so on. Populated by a wide range of diverse species: Humans, dragons, goblins, vulcans, exceeds, etc.

However, outside this continent are the mainland, comprised of mysterious and unforeseen lands and oceans. Very few brave souls had dared to venture into the unknown, and even fewer had returned and lived to tell their tales. Tales of terrors and horrors, of beasts and goliaths, of the Lost Titans; creatures believed to be capable of feeding, absorbing, and draining magic altogether.

Even the rarest and obscurest of texts and scrolls dare to speak of and acknowledge the existence of what may be the most darkest and most dangerous of such beasts, so much so that they even say this may not be of this world at all. This alien terror was eventually sealed away for good, by a brave yet desperate alliance of humans, dragons, and titans, within a deep pit of thick ice, forever trapped in a frozen state of agony.

To this day, they've been believed by some to be banished and exiled from the lands by a powerful team of mages back in the furthest dawn of history, and even believed by most to have finally been extinct.
