I do have something else planned for them, so this isn't the end of the Kenny/Jen saga just yet. This next story is going to be darker and a lot more dramatic than this story was. Something is going to happen to Jen and her ex is going to be making his presence known again. I hope you all get a chance to read whenever it gets posted.

TRIALS
Chapter 18: Revolution

Walking around in a black long sleeved sweater dress, black sheer tights, black stiletto knee boots, Jen explored the Wintrust arena. Tonight was the Revolution pay-per-view and she was ecstatic. The Elite Queen was looking forward to sharing the ring with Penelope in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

The last two weeks of the build up to the pay-per-view have gone without a hitch. On the February nineteenth episode of Dynamite, she had accompanied The Bucks in their tag team battle royal match, in which they won, and later on in the show, she accompanied Kenny and Adam to the ring for their match against The Lucha Brothers and Kenny and Adam retained their tag titles. Later on that night, she appeared on the Dark taping that would air February twenty-fifth. She made her presence during the Kip Sabian versus Joey Janela Falls Count Anywhere match and Penelope was there too since she accompanied her boyfriend, Kip, to the ring. Before their match got started, Jen came out and attacked Penelope after Joey attacked Kip from behind prior to the match. The referees had to break apart Jen and Penelope.

On this past Wednesday's February twenty-sixth episode of Dynamite, Jen accompanied Kenny to the ring for his Iron Man Match against PAC. The Best Bout Machine proved that he had that nickname when he defeated PAC in their thirty minute match that went overtime. Matt and Nick stood ringside and Jen assumed it was to scout out Kenny before their tag title match at the pay-per-view. Before the show started, JR conducted a sit down interview with Kenny, Adam, Nick, and Matt and Jen was there too. JR inquired about Jen's match with Penelope before he got onto the interview with the estranged members of The Elite. Things got intense with The Bucks and Hangman leaving Kenny feeling conflicted. Jen sat there, unsure of what to make of the situation.

"Jen!" She snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Kenny call out to her. She turned around to face him. "I wanted to go over last minute details with you and Penelope."

"Alright." She walked alongside her other half down the hallway. "Good idea to go ahead and knock that out before you and I become super busy."

"That's the thought I had."

"Thank you for taking the time to plan out this match thoroughly with me. I know you have your stuff to deal with, so it really means a lot to me that you have took so much of your time helping me."

"No problem whatsoever."

"I feel super confident about this match."

"That's why I took the time and effort to help you thoroughly plan out your match with Penelope," Kenny explained. "I don't want you to feel discouraged; I want you to feel like you can go out there and show everyone just how talented you are."

"Thanks for believing in my abilities."

"I know what you're capable of; do you?"

"I am starting to."

"Once you get out in the ring, everything is going to flow accordingly," Kenny assured. "Penelope thinks highly of you and she's going to ensure that you and her put on a memorable performance."

"Thanks for the pep talk. It was what I needed to hear."

"You're welcome. That's what I'm here for." Kenny and Jen made it to the women's dressing room. Jen knocked on the door and slightly opened it to maintain the women's privacy. She called out for Penelope.

The Superbad girl came out of the women's dressing room. "Hey Jen...hey Kenny."

"Hey, Penelope, I was wanting to discuss last minute details with yours and Jen's match," Kenny responded.

"Sounds good."

"Why don't we go to our dressing room to go discuss everything?" Jen looked at Kenny and he nodded his affirmation. Kenny lead the way to his and Jen's dressing room and Jen followed behind with Penelope. "I am so hyped for our match."

"Me too," Penelope smiled. "I look forward to seeing how our match comes together."

"Same."

The three arrived to Kenny and Jen's locker room. "I'm going to track down Kip because I want him to be present during this since he'll be playing a pivotal role. You two talk about whatever it is females talk about." Kenny leaned down and his mouth to Jen's ear. "I know you've ached to talk to Penelope, so I sort of arranged for you and her to have some girl time," he whispered. "I really am going to find Kip, but I'll wait awhile before bringing him by." He kissed Jen's cheek and disappeared down the hallway.

Jen watched as Kenny walked down the hallway, a look of awe on her face. He found another way to cement himself as the best Jen has ever been with. She was so grateful for him. Jen opened the dressing room door and let Penelope walk in first. She was glad she would have some girl bonding time with Penelope because she seriously lacked female friends.

"The following contest is a Falls Count Anywhere match scheduled for one fall with a twenty minute time limit!" Justin Roberts announced. "Introducing first, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Superbad girl, PENELOPE FOOORRRDDD!" With her 'Bad Girl' entrance theme blaring, Penelope came out wearing her shimmering black bodysuit with blue and green trim and a black shimmering bra attached, her black knee high boots with black shimmering vinyl knee high stockings, and her black leather jacket and sunglasses. Her blonde hair was down in curls. Her blue-green eyes brightened with the blue and green ombre eyeshadow with winged eyeliner and her lips shined with coats of shiny lipgloss. She strutted down the ring and when she entered the ring, she did her split, the crowd mesmerized with her flexibility.

Penelope stood in the ring and fiddled with her perfectly manicured white nails, disheartened that the crowd was chanting Jennifer's name. 'Bow Down' by I Prevail blared and the crowd stood on their feet, cheering for whom that entrance theme belonged to. "And her opponent, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, JJJEEENNNNIIFFFERRRR BEESSSSTTTTTT!" Jennifer raised her hands in the air and new pyrotechnics blasted. Her attire consisted of a wine colored velvet sports bra with white stripes at the hem of the bra, wine colored velvet shorts with white sidestripes, and black and white adidas wrestling shoes with wine colored sporty tube ankle socks with two white stripes at the top. Her wrists and hands were taped up with white tape. Her blonde hair was up in double dutch fishtail braids, pigtail style. Her blue eyes shimmered with maroon eyeshadow with cat-like eyeliner and gold sparkly eyeliner accenting her bottom lid and her lips were stained with wine colored matte lipstick. She walked down the ramp, waving to the fans since the ramp was too far apart from the fans to slap their hands. When she entered the ring, she and Penelope were glaring at each other with icy expressions.

The bell rang and the match was now underway. Jennifer charged at Penelope and tackles her, raining down elbows to the face. Penelope shoos Jennifer off of her and rolls to the outside. Penelope runs from Jennifer, heading inside the ring. Jennifer stalks Penelope inside the ring. Penelope tries for a lariat, but Jennifer ducks and grabs Penelope by the the back of the head, smashing Penelope's head against her knee. Jennifer goes for the quick pin, Penelope kicks out at one! Best picks up Ford and attempts to irish whip her in the corner. No luck. Ford counters Best and Best gets tossed in the corner. Penelope presses her foot against Jennifer's throat and Jennifer is struggling for air. Penelope lets go and goes to the opposite corner. She perfectly executes her springboard back elbow. Jennifer plops to the ground and Penelope runs the ropes, putting boots to Jennifer with a baseball slide and Jennifer is out of the ring.

Penelope joins Jennifer on the outside, lifts her up and repeatedly smashes her head into the apron ten times. She then tosses the wobbly Jennifer into the ring post on the outside. Penelope boasts to the crowd, receiving a plethora of boos. Penelope shoos at them, focusing back on her opponent. She grabs Jennifer, trying to toss her into the barricade, Jennifer counters and Penelope is tossed into the barricade. Jennifer takes a few steps back, charges at her opponent at full speed and nails Penelope with a jumping lariat, sending both ladies over the barricade and into the crowd.

Jennifer rains down on Penelope with stomps. Penelope eventually counters, slapping Jennifer hard in the face. Best is dazed and Ford taunts her by doing Kenny Omega's bang taunt. The audience wasn't afraid to let Penelope know how they're feeling. Ford continues her attack on Best with elbows to Best's face. Penelope tosses Jennifer into the barricade that leads the higher level of the stands. Jennifer manages to climb up the barricade, Penelope hot on her heels. The ladies trade elbows to the face back and forth and the crowd cheers when Jennifer gets in hits and boos Penelope when she gets in hits. Penelope kicks Jennifer in the abdomen and sets up for a superplex off the barricade, but Jennifer fights out and Penelope plops off the barricade. Jennifer faces the crowd, and raises her hand, embracing their adulation. She lands a Orihara Moonsault, taking a page out of Hangman Adam Page's repertoire! She pins Penelope and gets a near fall. A frustrated Jennifer picks up Penelope by her hair and drags her to the barricade, tossing her over it and onto the floor. Jennifer climbs over the barricade and now the two ladies are back outside the ring.

Penelope crawls towards the steel stairs. Jennifer stalks Penelope like prey, but Penelope grabs Jennifer by the shorts and slams her face first into the steel stairs. Some of the audience could be seen cringing at the bump Jennifer's pretty face took into the steel stairs. Penelope regains her composure, rolls Jennifer onto her back and goes for the pinfall, but gets a nearfall. It can be seen now that Jennifer has a busted lip and chin.

Penelope climbs onto the apron and Jennifer isn't too far behind her opponent. The two ladies trade blows on the apron. Penelope had something different on her mind now, so she hopped down and got underneath Jennifer, trying to powerbomb Jennifer onto the floor. After some punches, Jennifer counters with a hurricanrana and Penelope is taken down. Jennifer rolls back inside the ring to regain her composure. She feels at her lip and chin, finally taking notice that she had had bled, but it was now controlled. Ford slides into the ring, taking down Jennifer from a running crossbody from behind. Penelope straddles Jennifer, ramming her face into the mat. Jennifer blocks, rolls over Penelope, Penelope rolls over Jennifer and the process continues until both ladies are outside on the entrance ramp.

Both ladies stand up, trading blows with each other until they get on top of the stage. They brawl until they're off the stage. Penelope gains the upper hand, taking Jennifer down with a swinging neckbreaker. She goes for the cover, but Best kicks out at two. Feeling desperate, Penelope walks back up the entrance ramp and onto the far right side where Jennifer is. Waiting for Jennifer to get up, Penelope waits anxiously and when Jennifer finally gets up, Penelope dives off the stage with a crossbody! She goes for the pinfall again and Jennifer somehow kicks out. Penelope is visibly frustrated at this point.

Best and Ford have both regained their composure and they start brawling again, punching at each other at quick speed. They have the crowd in the palm of their hand. By this time, Best and Ford are back on the ramp and Best gains the upper hand, kneeing Ford in the abdomen. Wrapping her arms around Penelope, Jennifer executes a beautiful northern lights suplex on the ramp. But that's not all... Best executes two more northern lights suplexes, taking a page out of Matt Jackson's playbook.

The crowd is cheering Jennifer on. Jennifer tosses Penelope back into the ring. Jennifer tries running at Penelope, but Penelope counters with a drop toehold and Jennifer's throat is caught on the bottom rope. Penelope uses the ropes to herself fully stand up. Jennifer is up shortly after her and tries to set up Penelope for a certain move she has on her mind. Penelope tightly holds onto the rope and kicks Jennifer back. Penelope charges at Jennifer, but Jennifer counters, gets behind Penelope and executes a SNAP DRAGON SUPLEX, paying homage to Kenny Omega. That was definitely a holy shit moment!

Smartly, Ford rolls out of the ring to prevent from being covered. Jennifer runs her hands down her face and stands on the apron. Once Penelope is up, Jennifer asai moonsaults Penelope off the apron and into the barricade taking a page out of Nick Jackson's playbook. She rolls Penelope back inside the ring. Jennifer stands on the apron, trying to get back inside the ring, but is cut off by Penelope whom slams Jennifer's face into her knee. Jennifer bounces back into the ring through the first and second rope. Penelope sits up Jennifer, and lands a beautiful snap neckbreaker. Ford sits up Best again and runs the ropes, trying for a low crossbody; however, Jennifer counters rolling Penelope over on her back, Jennifer's full body weight on her. Penelope is violently kicking her legs but Jennifer gets the pinfall.

The audience automatically jump up in their seat, cheering for Jennifer, who just got the victory. She doesn't have time to celebrate because Kip Sabian comes down the ramp dressed in a Penelope Ford shirt, black distressed skinny jeans, and black vans. Jennifer is distracted by Kip's presence that she doesn't expect it when she's blindsided by Penelope from behind. Kip enters the ring and grabs a hold of Jennifer. Penelope has Jennifer's chin tightly held between her two fingers and is talking trash. She slaps Jennifer a couple of times. Kip picks Jennifer up, with the plan of taking her out with his deathly hallows finisher, but he's not able to because Kenny Omega comes to the aid of Jennifer much to the delight of the crowd. He's dressed in his terminator ring attire and his new merch shirt. Sabian tosses Jennifer to the mat like a fly and charges at Omega, but Omega ducks, runs the ropes and bam! V-TRIGGER onto Kip sending Kip out of the ring. Penelope checks on her boyfriend outside the ring. Kenny stands in front of the ropes and waits until Sabian and Ford scram backstage.

He approaches Jennifer and gingerly helps her up. He cups her face between his hands to make sure that she's alright. She affirmly nods. Kenny raises Jennifer's hand and the crowd cheers. He holds the bottom rope open for her and she exits, him not too far behind. Omega puts an arm around Best's shoulders and escorts her backstage.

Whenever Kenny and Jen walk through the tunnel, she is greeted with the proud expressions of Nick, Matt, and Adam. "You still got it!" Nick praised.

"Nice trifecta northern lights suplexes," Matt said. "It was awesome how you paid homage to the four of us in this match." Matt motioned between him, Nick, Kenny, and Adam.

"That Orihara moonsault was badass," Hangman stated. "You executed that like a pro."

"That snap dragon suplex was a thing of beauty." Kenny placed his hands on Jen's shoulders. "I am so proud of you."

Jen merely smiled. She was just going to soak in the adulation from her friends. It meant so much to her that they thought she did good in her match. She found Penelope talking with Kip and Jen had to talk to her. She walked away for a moment, the four guys observing her movements.

"Penelope, thank you." She enveloped Superbad girl in a hug. "You were an excellent opponent and I am so glad that I got share the ring with you."

Penelope tightened the hug. "I'm so grateful that I got to wrestle you. You were amazing out there."

"Thank you, but I couldn't have done it without you."

"Same here." Jen smiled in response and let go of Penelope. "I'm going to head back to the dressing room. I hope I get to hear more from you."

"You will. You're like the only female friend I have." Penelope laughed and hugged Jen again before walking away. Kip gave her a nod and smile and Jen reciprocated it before he walked with Penelope and she walked back to her Elite members. She looked at Nick, Matt, and Adam. "I just want to thank you to the three of you for all the overwhelming support. You're my family and I love you all so much." She looked up at Kenny. "I'm so honored to have you as my significant other. You're amazing. I love you."

Kenny smiled. "Right back at you, Best."

"You're an amazing friend, Jen," Matt said. "I love you like the little sister I've always wanted." He hugged her.

"You're cool to hang out with," Hangman said. "I hope we have more opportunities to hang out." The two of them slapped hands before hugging.

"You're my best friend in the whole world," Nick said. "I love you." Nick hugged Jen tightly.

She felt tears in her eyes. "I'm going to head back to the dressing room and get cleaned up and changed. I'll see you all out there during your match." She and Kenny shared a quick kiss before she walked to the dressing room she shared with him.

The Young Bucks versus Omega and Hangman tag team match for the AEW tag team titles is now underway. Nick and Kenny to start, Omega with a wristlock, wrenching it in. Jackson reverses, flying mare, double leg, off the ropes, cartwheel, pass aside, full nelson denied, knucklelock, lucha arm drag connects! Another arm drag, headscissors counter, Kenny backs off and tags out. Matt in as well, arm wringer, reversed, kip-up and a reversal right back.

Matt with a leg pick, front chancery, stalemate! Matt with a double leg, raining punches down on Page's head, referee Rick Knox barely able to get him to break momentarily and Omega tries to break it up to no avail! Finally Nick comes in and gets Matt to cool off. Adam with a palm strike, Nick with a rolling solebutt, tag back to Matt. Off the ropes, alley-oop dropkick, clear Omega from the apron with a kick right after!

Charging in, back body drop to the apron, get Page hung up, slingshot senton atomico and a slingshot dropkick to keep Kenny off balance! Running blockbuster and backbreaker combo, no good and Hangman starts coming back, working Matt's back over with knee drops. Tag to Kenny, running backbreaker, quick tags, continuing the pressure, taking Jackson to the floor.

Hard whip into the barricade, Omega pulls Hangman off him and throws Matt back in the ring. Champs laying chops in, Matt looking for a northern lights to escape, his back fails on the first try but a wave of adrenaline gets it and the tag! Nick going one-on-two with kicks, bulldog and lariat combo connects! Knuckle lock, escalera into a Frankensteiner!

Knee in the corner, to the apron for a running kick, slingshot X-Factor back inside and a moonsault off the apron as Nick Jackson is a whirlwind of motion! Sunset flip back inside, step through, Sharpshooter applied to Hangman in the middle of the ring! Omega and Matt brawling it out, a Frankensteiner puts him on the floor.

Jockeying for position, low bridge sends Nick flying, Matt gets in Adam's face and referee Rick Knox barely keeps the peace. Nick pulls Hangman off the apron, Matt has Kenny lined up and connects a jumping piledriver! Nearfall on Kenny. Nick locking Kenny down with a front chancery, he fights to his feet, throwing Nick into Page's boot and following it up with a Liger Bomb!

Tag made, Hangman lighting the Young Bucks up, whip into a boot, lariat takes Nick out, fallaway slam into a kip-up for Adam, dive on Nick, lariat sends Matt ot the floor and he's fired up! Boot up to block, back elbow, up top... Orihara moonsault! Page demands Matt tag in and he gets his wish! Slugging it out forearm for forearm, off the ropes and Page decks him with a boot!

Blind tag from Omega, working Matt over, HUGE German suplex dumps him on the back of his neck! Doctor Wily Bomb! Kenny gets the nearfall on Matt. Page is now legal, charge in, sidestep, gamengiri connects and Nick is legal. Superkick to an intervening Omega, knucklelock and a roundhouse kick, springboard, shoved off, lands on his feet on the ramp, springboard back in... flip piledriver for two!

Page gets an elbow up but Matt holds him down and Nick hits a Cheeky Nando's! Powerbomb and Blockbuster combo and Omega breaks up the pinfall! Matt throws the Best Bout Machine to the floor, Page gets a rolling elbow, low kick, fired up... crossface chickenwing! Matt fighting every inch of it, Nick up top... 450 splash! No dice! Fireman's carry, Matt's back gives out, no bang for your buck!

Kenny with the fireman's carry, Finlay Roll, running shooting star press, moonsault, Hangman up top... moonsault and then a fallaway and Nick kicks out! Powerbomb, roll through, V-Trigger... Matt breaks up the pinfall! V-Trigger blocked, standing switch, jockeying for position, V-Trigger connects! V-Trigger sends Matt to the ramp, Dragon suplex for Nick! Another one! Underhooks... Tiger driver 98 and a pinfall, but Nick manages to kick out!

Rolling northern lights suplexes on the ramp from Matt to Hangman! Calling for Nick, Matt gets Adam in position on the ramp... indytaker onto the steel ramp takes out Hangman! Back inside with Omega, wrists clutched... golden knee triggers and a pinfall, but Kenny kicks out at one! Another nearfall, Matt tags in, wristlock and stomps to the bad shoulder!

Omega helpless on the mat, Jackson tearing the kinesio tape off his shoulder before lifting his up... but Page is alive and saves his partner from the Meltzer Driver! Hangman and Nick brawl on the outside until Hangman powerbombs Nick through a table on the outside. V-TRIGGER! BUCK SHOT! V-TRIGGER! Matt Jackson somehow kicks out! Kenny fighting through the pain, V-Trigger connects, electric chair but Matt fights out and hits a superkick!

Page tags in, electric chair... Hangman hits his own One Winged Angel but Nick breaks up the pinfall, saving his brother! Throwing Nick out to the stage, Hangman drops him with Buck Shot! Another one for Matt! Hangman covers Matt and gets the pinfall.

Jennifer makes her presence known. The Bucks and Omega slap hands and Page is standing off on his own. The Bucks hug Jennifer. Matt then tries to offer Hangman a handshake, but Hangman leans on the ropes and thinks about it for a long beat. He does pat Jennifer on the shoulder before he decides to leave the ring. He sets his title down and grabs the ropes, waiting for Kenny to turn around. Jennifer looks at Hangman and Kenny, waiting for something to happen. Hangman holds the ropes open for Kenny. Kenny exits the ring and Jennifer follows behind, looking back at The Bucks and nodding at them. She and Hangman each have an arm around Kenny, side hugging him.

Adam takes a beer from a fan and heads backstage with it while Kenny and Jennifer walk up the ramp together looking at Hangman with amusement.

Jen sat behind Kenny on the bed, carefully massaging his right shoulder. It had been recently revealed that Kenny was wrestling with a torn labrum and he possibly broke his right hand during his match. Jen had mad respect for Kenny for continuing to wrestle even with an injury. "How's your shoulder feeling?"

"It feels a lot better than it has been."

"You're a badass motherfucker." She put her lips on his shoulder.

"That might be the greatest compliment I've ever received," Kenny joked.

Jen giggled. "I mean it from the bottom of my heart."

"You already know this: but, you're good with your hands. This massage to my shoulder feels amazing."

"I'm glad. You deserve it after all the wear and tear you have put on it."

"How's your mouth feeling?"

"My mouth kind of hurts, but this is petty compared to a torn labrum." There was a scene for 'Being The Elite' that was filmed after Kenny's tag match. Kenny, Jen, Matt, and Nick were all in the trainer's room. Kenny had ice taped on his right shoulder and hand. Matt had his back taped up with ice. Nick sat on a table and had his knees taped up with ice. Jen was leaned against the wall beside where Nick was sitting, observing all her injured friends.

"Okay, I'm good now." Jen stopped massaging Kenny's shoulder. She got off the bed and propped their pillows together so he could elevate his right hand and shoulder. "Thank you." He groaned slightly as he propped his arm on the pillow.

"No problem. If you need anything just let me know," Jen offered. She plopped on the bed. Both of them were pressed against the head rest of the bed. "Tonight has been a memorable night."

"Definitely." The AEW tag team champion rested his feet on Jen's feet and they started playing footsies. "You shined in your match. You haven't lost your touch."

"You and Penelope are the reasons why I got to shine tonight," Jen stated. "Between you helping us plan out the match and her being an amazing opponent...I owe everything to you two."

"The wrestler actually competing is responsible for how their match turns out. It's up to you to bring the match to life."

Jen nodded. "Would you say I did good then?"

"You did great."

"Thank you," she smiled. "Your tag match with Adam against Nick and Matt was outstanding. All the storytelling and emotions was off the charts."

"I'm glad that you appreciated the match."

"The four of you had me on the edge of my seat in production."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"So, Mox is the AEW champion..."

"...that's good for him," Jen deadpanned.

"I saw that his wife was backstage tonight."

Jen rolled her eyes. "I heard."

"She came up to me and congratulated me on retaining the tag titles."

"...that was nice of her," Jen replied. "She has a whole new world champion she can celebrate with."

"And you have a whole tag team champion retainer you can celebrate with."

Jen laughed. "I say I get the better end of the deal."

"Me too. Who else can say that they get to celebrate with beautiful and talented Jennifer Best?"

"Kenny Omega - the best wrestler in AEW, is the only one who gets to celebrate with this beautiful and talented Jennifer Best he speaks of."

The Best Bout Machine smiled. He ran his left hand down Jen's right fishtail braid that managed to stay in tact. "Sorry we can't do much because of my labrum and hand, but we can still find a way to celebrate our win."

"Honestly; we can do whatever you want," Jen decided. "Being here with you is good enough for me."

Kenny and Jen leaned over and met halfway to meet each other with a kiss. "You're the best, Best. I'm so happy that you're mine...not trying to sound possessive."

"I get what you're saying," Jen laughed. "I think that is so sweet."

"I can at least take you out, so next weekend whenever we're at home and have more time off, I'll take you out."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, you're just going to have to drive."

"I think I can do that."

"Alright, it's date then."

Jen leaned her head into Kenny's left side. "I kind of love you, Omega."

"Same here, Best, same here."
