The Bane of Artemis

I do not take ownership

Prologue:

"Orion that's not fair. You are supposed to be the bane of Apollo you're supposed to be even better than he is at archery." Perseus complained as he witnessed his brother hunt and snipe any animal within his radius with ease.

Unlike their other brothers, Orion and Perseus turned out to fundamentally and physically different than their Gigantes counterparts. Perseus and Orion looked similar and most like their mother Gaea more god like and more humanoid. Their elder brothers, most notably Porphyrion, was more or less the favorite out of the siblings born to oppose the Olympians on the throne.

"My young Perseus less complaining and more training my youngest spawn." His mother Gaea rarely physically manifested into a body and mostly spoke to them as a presence.

This time however, Gaea was more involved with their upbringing considering her other failed offspring did not last in ruling over her domain. She had convinced her Titan sons to mutilate and disfigure their father Uranus or Ouranos whichever system was in place during their time whether that be the Greek or Roman Rule.

"Perseus you were born to oppose Artemis if you continue to complain I will be the one to erase your essence into our father's domain. Artemis is merely a goddess nothing our kind could not handle. If it is an issue, I will be her bane alongside her blasted father Zeus." Porphyrion continued as he reunited with his young brothers hidden in the mountains alongside their siblings the Ourea who protected them.

"Your time will come, for all of you. I am expecting great things." Gaea told her sons in a soothing voice. Perseus attached to one of her legs as his mother ruffled and massaged his hair in a caring tone. The rest of his brothers gathers in circle listening to their mother. Oddly enough their urge to satisfy their mother's wishes was more of a driving force to destroy the Olympians rather than their own desires.

Unbeknownst to Porphyrion, Perseus was her favorite. He received the most physical traits from his mother. From the most natural green eyes that could camouflage with the illustrious green plains. His skin tone, the color of lakeshore sand. Lastly, his demeanor the blend of the harshest and roughest rock but also the mysteriousness of a jungle.

However, she resented what ruined a perfect image of her favorite son, his hair. The color of the void, something inherited from his father. Unlike Porphyrion, Tartarus did not see Perseus as one of his favorite offspring. Quite the contrary, he was his least favorite. An outcast in his opinion, he looked eerily too similar like the godlings ruling Olympus and like the other disgraced children of Gaea, her once beloved titans.

"Perseus help me tend to my farm would you. Our other brothers are a bit proud in helping me tend to our mothers land." Damasen signaled Percy to help him to till the land that fed his brothers.

Damasen was the most sentimental with his youngest brother. Orion was too proud to help his younger brother with his archery. Polybotes and the rest of his eldest brothers too worried about dividing territories for when they ruled the universe. Typhon the second youngest more involved with his elder brothers in vengeance in the name of their mother.

The youngest son of the Primordial's Tartarus and Gaea proved to be a formidable spawn. As he aged his wisdom and experiences grew further, his powers grew alongside. Perseus adapted the ability to manipulate his mother's domain by sprouting life from the earth or even causing mass destruction with the destruction of earthquakes. His inane and least used power of controlling monsters to do his bidding was also in his repertoire courtesy of his father Tartarus.

The first Gigantomachy proved to be a failure. Like Damasen, Perseus did not believe in the little coup d'état Porphyrion had planned alongside his mother Gaea and his very much hated father Tartarus. Damasen was sentenced to the pit where his father resided to spend the remaining eternity, damned to fight his nemesis the drakon.

As for the rest of his brothers, Orion was more inclined in impressing his nemesis' twin sister Artemis in the art of hunting. Polybotes' battle against the Lord of Horses within the sea proved to be futile as he was tossed aside proving to be nothing compared to the Earthshaker. Zeus although proud, proved his power being able to eliminate his nemesis Porphyrion and trapped Typhon under a mountain.

When it was all set and done, most of his brothers were reforming in his father's domain whilst he was the only one that remained. The gods hunted him knowing that he remained, created and bred to oppose them. But his mother wouldn't have it. Although he had disobeyed her wishes, Gaea very much still favored Perseus as her favorite son.

As Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, and the rest of the gods descended towards Perseus he was instantly swallowed by his mother and put into a very deep slumber. For the gods it was a victory, however they wouldn't know that it would start a second uprising by the Gigantes later in the future. Perseus' resentment grew, he hadn't planned on defying the Olympians and yet he was nearly sent back to his father, where he would stay for eternity punished by his father.

When he awoke, he would make sure his bane would be punished not only because she had descended from the heavens to aid her fellow gods but because it was his duty. His mother's wishes proved to be true that they would not want anyone powerful threatening them. Perseus would not let his eldest brother lead the charge, he had failed once and with the blessing of his mother he would go on the very next assault on Olympus.

Whether his brothers liked it or not he would decide if everyone was guilty of his downfall. Whether that be the eldest gods down to the cup bearers on Olympus. He would deal judgement when he would awake again. That even meant judgement for his brothers who treated him wrongly and detested him for being his mother's favorite. For that is what the prophecy foretold. Whether he would go through with it was the question. Everyone was at the end of his crosshairs, the Olympians, and his brothers.
