A/N — Written for Assignment 6, Divination, Task 3: Write about someone dealing with chaos/disorder, and some other stuff

Mostly just a little story I wrote to entertain myself (:

"The fact that you're both still alive is a miracle," Lily says wryly, staring down at the heap James and Sirius make on her living room floor. She picks up baby Harry from his chair, propping him on her hip. "I'm surprised you haven't accidentally killed yourselves a long time ago."

"I take offence at that, wife," James says. His glasses only cover one eye, the hinge broken on one side so that it hangs down past his nose, and he's still stuck partially on top of and partially underneath Sirius.

"Fully in agreement with you, Lils," Sirius says. "Honest to Merlin miracle, it is."

"And I also take offence at that, former best friend."

"Sorry, mate," Sirius says. "But Lils is gonna be much more helpful in an emergency." He pauses for a moment, either for dramatic effect or because a thought has suddenly occurred to him, it's never clear with Sirius. "An emergency such as the one we find ourselves in currently."

Lily is instantly worried, given the state the world is currently in, and she asks, "Did something happen?" her voice filled with urgency.

James points at Harry, and wails, "He called Sirius Dad!" at the same time Sirius says, "I am the father now!"

Lily shakes her head, and turns towards the kitchen to feed Harry, but not before throwing a wink over her shoulder at Sirius.

She is followed out by a dramatic wail of "Why? Why would you do this to me? Betrayed by the love of my life and my own son!" from James, and the sounds of more scuffling on the floor.

Kissing Harry on the forehead, breathing in the baby scent of him, Lily whispers conspiratorially, "Let's make your dad's some lunch, shall we?"

Harry just waves a tiny fist in response.
