Authors Note: Hello! Some of you may remember from the Fanfiction, Dragon's Blood. If not, that's okay. So I've come with good news and bad news. Th good news, this is a re-do of that fic. The bad news, I completely underestimated the world of Akame Ga Kill the last time. Plain and simple. And here for some more good news, O will be bringing some of the core concepts of that fanfic into this one and some of the core characters and original characters of my own design. Characters such Tatsumi and Esdeath's daughter, Elizabeth, and the character, Colonel Balta Aquila, will be making their way into this fic, along with the concepts of Tatsumi being adopted into Budo's family and trained by Budo himself from a young age and Tatsumi being married to Esdeath. As for Tatsumi leading his own legion has been scrapped, however, Tatsumi will retain the rank of Brigadier General, though he is stationed under an Imperial General of renown among the higher ups of the Empires who has a rather chilling reputation and instead lead his own personal unit of six. Tatsumi's origin and has also been changed from the original fic and his personality leans more towards his original personality while not being too out of character or too in character, though I can say he is a bit older than what he was in canon. As for the affectionately dubbed "Mama Esdeath Moments", they will pop up here and there but not too much. Esdeath was where I screwed up last time, royally so, and I plan to rectify that mistake along with the others. As for Tatsumi's Teigu, it is completely different from what I had originally planned, but I won't reveal it's true identity right away. Small elements and homages to the Assassin Creed series and Fate/Series and a few other series will pop up here and there, kind of like Easter eggs or teasers you find in other anime, shows, movies, comics and such will pop up here and there. Some will be subtle and others will be somewhat obvious, but you will have to guess what their from and look carefully at where their hidden. So without further ado, please read and enjoy.

Prologue: Kill the Battlefield

Tatsumi's Current Age: 19

Esdeath's Current Age: 22

Location/Time Period: Western Border of the Thousand Year Empire, The Snowy Plains of Death, Thirty miles away west of the The Hassan No Sabbah Mountain Range, Northwestern Battlefront, twenty miles west from the border of Drachentöter. Seven years before the start of the Revolution.

War was and always will be a bloody and gruesome thing, no matter the era in time. This war was no exception. The Slowy Plains of Death were located on inside the edge of the Imperial Boarders with the western countries. They were the sight of the first conflicts of with the western Kingdom of Drachentöter, A country that has had tense, and unfriendly at the least, relations with the Thousand Year Empire dating back 800 years from now. As the centuries passed, Relations between the two nations slowly fueled the flames of hatred, escalating the skirmishes and battles and wars between the two proud nations. While the Imperial Army and Emperor had their Teigu wielders and held a slight edge because of it, The Kingdom of Drachentöter had their Knights of the Blood Cross, A group of highly trained and skilled knights that were bathed and enfused with the blood of S-Class Dragon Type Danger Beasts through unknown methods. Leading them was the current King of Drachentöter, King Seigfried Drachentöter XVI. But this story isn't about the King Seigfried, the Kingdom of Drachentöter, or the Imperial Empireor the emperor in their entirety, they are only parts of this story. This is the story of the young man of who currently taking part of the battle today.

Upon a small hill stood a man of a height five foot six inches. He had medium length brown hair with a cowlick that falls with its weight. He had lightly tan skin and beneath his clothing, he had a slim, yet muscular body. His right eye was a jade green, while his left eye was icy blue and white with no pupil. The veins around his left eye were visible and a black color, giving off the appearance that he was blind in his left eye. He wore a thin, blue button-up shirt beneath a black combat vest with red trim. A pair of imperial-styled black military pants adored his legs along with black socks and a pair of black, military combat boots, both adored with the same red trim. He wore an Imperial white, high collar, trench coat with gray trim with the insignia of an imperial Brigadier General on his right sleeve, and his hands adorned black, fingerless gloves with red trim. Finally, A pair of brown belts, one around his torso and his waist with two sheaths attached to each belt respectively. The one on his back was empty, while the one on his waist rested an ordinary, old, black, and rusty one-handed long sword. Both sheathes were made out of black leather. In his right hand was a one-handed, short sized broadsword with a black leather grip and handle, a bronze guard and a pommel, and dark-tinted, Duel-edge, steel blade. It was kept in pristine condition. This man was Brigadier General, Tatsumi Budo, the adopted son of the Great General Budo.

He was surrounded by fallen men, allies and enemies alike as he gave a sad sigh. Small Light blue flames licked the ground around him as they slowly cling to life quietly, struggling to keep alive. He stood, facing west towards a small group of five Armed soldiers adorned in full chainmail armor and cylindrical helmet covered their faces, with a slim, cross-shape opening on the front of the helmet so they could see through it. Over the chainmail armor, they wore a white cloak emblazoned with a giant, blood Red Cross on the back and front of the cloak. They all wielded One-handed long swords with golden handles and guards and silver, duel-edged blades. They were each a member of Knights of the Blood Cross. They weren't part of the elite unit that worked directly under King Seigfried XVI, but they were still highly skilled and powerful in their own right.

Tatsumi could tell that much at least. They didn't bear the Black Dragon wrapped around the Blood Cross. But they should provide a moderate challenge for him. He was growing tired of fighting the low-leveled soldiers. He smirked as he brought his sword up and lightly rested it on his shoulders.

"To think that the Magnificent and Merciless, General Andraste would be sending you guys out this early, they must be a little worried they we Imperials are going to win this." Tatsumi's spoke loudly in a confident and excited tone of voice. "Though I'm a little disappointed that she would send only a handful of you Knights after me. After all, My father and I nearly killed her together at the Siege of Drakenguard."

"Shut your mouth, Imperial Dog!" The Leader of the five, the one who stood poised to strike. The four around him stood ready as well, itching to attack him. General Andraste was General Budo's equivalent in status and power, thanks to her being half Danger Beast herself. "Scum like you deserve the highest form of death. When we are through with you, we'll take your Imperial Arms and hand you to her ourselves so she can deliver the final judgement herself! You're father, wife, and child will be next after we bring them your mangled corpse and drop it off in front of that whelp of an Emperor!"

Tatsumi frowned at the last bit. His fellow Knights roared in agreement. Tatsumi brought his sword down to his side before taking up a stance, ready to strike as well. His sword leveled at his hip. There was no more need for words between them. Tatsumi stilled his breathing before moving in a single flash at blinding speeds. In an instant, he was behind the leader, his sword poised as if he had swung it diagonally. Before the Knights could realized what he did, They all were engulfed in a piller of the same blue flames that were once licking the ground clinging to life. In a matter of minutes, their screams of anguish died out quickly as there not even ashes of their corpses left as they disintegrated into the flames, fueling the cold, dead flames.

"The first and last mistake you made was threatening my wife and daughter." Tatsumi spoke softly as he sheathed his sword. He was about to move on before a sixth knight charged him from behind.

"Die Imperial Scum!" The Knight yelled as Tatsumi turned around ready to defend himself as he reached for the rusted sword, but stopped as the Knight was crushed by a falling pillar of ice. Tatsumi looked over his shoulder to see a Young woman, clad in a standard female officer uniform. She had long blue hair, icy blue eyes, and extremely pale skin. A blood red tattoo adorned her chest. This woman was General Esdeath Partas, The Empire's Strongest, The Ice Queen, and most of all, Tatsumi's Wife.

"Hello Beloved." Esdeath spoke confidently as she approached him. "I hope you don't mind me taking your prey. It seemed that they struck a nerve. Whatever they said, I can pay their loved ones a trillion fold for upsetting you, My Tatsumi." She reached forward and gently stroke his chin.

"That is not necessary, Esdeath." Tatsumi responded softly. "The battle is almost over, Let's regroup with Balta and the rest of our allies. We are going to enter the next stage soon. Their forces were rather small to try and take on our forces. There aren't even many Knights around too." He sighed as they begun to head back to base camp.

"Party pooper." Esdeath pouted as she walked beside him, crossing her arms. "But you are right, their forces do seem rather small. They must have something planned later tonight. I can almost sense it. Something is amiss. But for now, I will be content with your decision for now, but later we will take the fight to them."

Tatsumi smiled softly. If she was content, then all in the world was fine.
