It was day two of lockdown and Harvey's routine had mostly continued as normal, just from his home office instead of the firm. He was able to continue his work (minus meeting with clients, which was an added bonus in his eyes) so he had decided him and Donna were self isolating before sanctions were even put in place in New York. He had kept up to date with the latest news and it soon became clear it was a risk he wasn't willing to take.

Donna had scoffed when he first told her to pack up her work and bring it home, telling her they wouldn't be returning to the office for at least two weeks. It wasn't until she looked up from her laptop and saw his stony expression that her smile fell and she realised he was serious. His wide eyes didn't reflect her amusement and she couldn't keep the suprise off her face.

"Harvey, I really don't think that's necessary.. the firm..we can't just-"

"Donna." It was a warning. This was happening and there was nothing she could do to change his mind, she could tell that much just from his tone.

"No Harvey, you can't just expect me to drop everything because you decide that-"

"Donna, you're pregnant with our child." He raises a hand to gesture towards her very slightly rounded abdomen, the worry expressed in his furrowed brow and his fingers tapping on her desk should be enough to stop her arguing back, but her hormones won't let it rest. She has been tired and cranky for the past month and noone has felt it more than him.

"Shhh, I said I don't want to tell anyone yet and you're yelling about it where anyone could hear!" She forcefully sat back into her office chair and moved to look around him, checking nobody was around then glaring at him incredulously.

"No body is yelling, Donna. Now pack up your shit and meet me in my office so we can go home where I know you're safe, okay?" He clenched his jaw in preparation for her argument but he was met with a stubborn silence instead. He sighed and walked towards the door, pausing before he opened the door. "Oh and Donna," He paused to give her time to look up, "Don't forget to wash your hands." He ducked to miss the 4-colour pen-torpedo heading his way.

Whilst Harvey's working routine continued perfectly, Donna's routine had gone out the window. She couldn't get her laptop to connect to their wifi, there was only one desk in the apartment so she was having to work from the sofa and just couldn't organise herself on the small coffee table and her irritating colleague kept leaving his used coffee cups in the sink! The audit she was working on was nearly finished and she was annoyed she wouldn't have the opportunity to present the information at the next partners meeting like she had planned, she would be lucky if Harvey would even let her Skype in at this rate.

Yesterday she had got up at her usual time and prepared herself for work, she believed eventually she would wear Harvey down and he would let them go into the firm at least for part of the day. She was wrong. He had worked his usual hours, early til' late, occasionnally appearing in the kitchen on his phone or pacing up and down the windows overlooking the city whilst on his phone. Did he need the thing surgically removing from his ear? Donna fumed internally.

Today, however, she hadn't bothered to get dressed. She hoped it would annoy Harvey but he had made a comment about being glad she was taking it easy and she had bit his head off about the fact she could still work a full day without being dressed up for him. She had thrown something in about his being misogynistic and spent the rest of the day ignoring him and his stupid emails.

Deciding to take a toilet break, Donna stood and stretched as she unfolded from the sofa. The position hadn't agreed with her neck and it was aching from looking down at an awkward angle. Once she was done in the bathroom she sat down on their bed, deciding she would lie down for a moment as she was so bone tired.

Harvey had come to use the bathroom and found her asleep in their bedroom. He knew she was tired today, she had been particularly snappy but he was taking it all in his stride. He had read online that its perfectly normal during pregnancy due to hormone fluctuations especially during the first trimester. "Are you feeling alright?" He whispered.

She stirred and burst into tears at the sight of him, "No." He had seen her cry more times in the past couple of weeks than he had in 15 years of knowing her, so he wasn't particularly shocked at her tears.

"What's wrong, Donna?" He cups her face with one of his palms.

"I'm just so tired. And I know I'm being a bitch but I can't help it and I love you and I'm sorry but I hate being trapped inside this apartment because of a stupid virus." She sobbed, breathless by the end of her rant.

"It's only been two days?" He huffs out a laugh before he can stop it and is met by her death stare. "Sorry, sorry." He pulls her up into a hug and kisses her hair. "Donna, this isolation thing is for your own protection, to be honest I'd be insisiting on it even if you weren't pregnant. And as for work, we are cutting right back and just dealing with the cases that can't wait.. you can just work when you feel up to it." He pulls back to look at her, "I just want you to relax and stay safe, Okay?"

"Okay.." she lies back down against the pillows and closes her eyes but smiles as she feels Harvey push her t-shirt up slightly to reveal her tiny bump. This week had been the first time she had struggled to hide it with her usual wardrobe and he suspected that was another reason for her being so emotional. This was real. He ran a hand over her abdomen and rested it there for a moment letting his warmth seep into her skin, her hand joined his and just like that she was laughing again.
