"You can't go back to her now. Just like I can't." Kylo Ren spoke these words to Rey upon the

fallen second Death Star that was in shambles around them, much like Ren's life at this point.

Those words didn't have that much of an effect on Rey but far away on Ajan Kloss, it had a

profound effect on his mother. She felt his words immediately. She wasn't even trying to reach

out to him through the force but, she felt his words like he was standing beside her even now.

She reached out far enough to see him but just enough that he couldn't sense her presence. She

felt Rey's presence there but, there was only one presence she needed to focus on. She saw her son.

He was much taller than her at this point. She remembered when he used to climb on Chewy's

back when he was younger to try and be taller than his father. She could see it now. A small boy

with hair blacker than the ash that covered Mustafar, calling like a wookie, chasing his father

down to

show him how tall he was. She felt a surge of anger from Rey in that moment and sensed the two

start to duel with their lightsabers. She couldn't seem to pull away from the words that had come

from her son's mouth. She remembered the first time Ben had found Luke's lightsaber. She knew

her son was strong with the force. She had felt his power, both light and dark even before he was

born. She saw him sitting by his uncle's things on the falcon, where Luke had left his lightsaber

after he was tinkering with it. She watched as her young son walked over, picked it up and just

held it in his hands. She was out of the way so that he couldn't see her but she could see him just

enough to make sure he was safe. His little hands turned the lightsaber to where he looked like a

small jedi ready for battle and without igniting it, he pretended to defeat his enemies with small

strokes of the blade. Leia smiled to herself seeing the smile on her young son's face but, then

everything turned cold. She didn't see her son anymore. She saw a masked, cloaked man with a

lightsaber in the shape of a sword as crimson as blood. She looked at the masked man and felt it.

She felt the same presence she'd carried for nine months, the same presence she felt when she

looked into the face of her newborn son, the same presence that had taken those few steps

towards his father and the same presence that was holding his uncle's lightsaber even now. No, it

couldn't be. This wasn't her Ben. It couldn't be!

She was brought out of her vision by the small voice of her son. She had fallen to the ground and

Ben had seen her fall. He had rushed right over and used his small hands to shake his mother out

her vision. She looked into his face and sobbed. Ben looked up at her asking if he could help but

she waved him off, saying she was ok and went off to find her brother. Leia was brought back to

the present as she sensed her son and Rey's fight was almost over. She knew what she needed to

do. And she knew she had the strength to do it. She couldn't change the past. She couldn't

change her and Han's mistakes. She couldn't change the path her son had chosen. But, she could

let him know one thing that could change his future. She needed to let him know that he could

always come back. She wasn't going to deny her son coming home. This was the hope she had

held onto all these years. The hope that there was still light in her son and that he could come

back to the light. The same light that Rey saw in him. That was what he had just said. He felt too

far gone to return to his home. But, no one's ever really gone. Her son was alive! It was only a

matter of time before Kylo Ren was dead. Leia knew what she had to do. She reached out to her

son with all that she had. "Ben…" She saw him turn to face her and drop his lightsaber. Her son

was coming home.
