'Glitter' - Tyler, The Creator

"Luce...can we go outside?"

Silence.

Natsu slumped further into Lucy's couch, brows furrowed. For the past week or so, he was cooped up at Lucy's apartment with Happy. The four walls that trapped the trio seemed to rise upward forever, encasing them in nothing more than a hollow cube of concrete. The times in which Natsu would go on missions, kick some ass, start some shit at the guild were reduced to merely watching the days pass by. Heck, he even missed fighting Gray.

Not long ago a new virus that was capable of destroying magic power had emerged, forcing the Kingdom of Fiore into lockdown…at least not completely. Queen Hisui was not too draconian in her approach; in fact she still encouraged people to go for a run a day as long as there was some form of distance from others. And Natsu, itching to go outside, was more than willing to take advantage of that.

Unfortunately, his partner beside him thought otherwise. She ignored Natsu's several attempts to convince her, even the seemingly irresistible puppy eyes that he would make. Lucy was content; quarantine gave her the time to distance herself from the chaotic, bustling guild life and finally work on the drafts of her fantasy novels. Even Shakespeare wrote King Lear whilst in isolation. In fact, she would rather indulge in a good old film or two than to be stripped of her dignity fighting a monster. Okay, alright, maybe she did miss fighting a tad bit.

In pursuit of curing his boredom, Natsu found himself staring at the blonde before him. Lucy lay on the bed, duvet sinking under her weight as she snuggled deeper into the silken pillows that surrounded her. She closed her eyes and sighed, rolling over to grab her journal. Her golden locks gently caressed its way down her neck, falling into soft layers around her bare shoulders. Natsu could not help but bask in her radiant glow; for she was truly at peace. Lucy was certainly easy on the eye, even if she was just in a simple tank top and jeans. He never really dwelled on it though. After all, most of the time spent with her was on missions; there was little time to admire her delicate features or her ample bosom…Mavis, no!

On the other hand, Happy was on the carpet snoring rather obnoxiously, cuddling a blue blanket beside him. Natsu was growing increasingly annoyed. With nothing to do, he had only Lucy to focus his thoughts on. He didn't like it. Looking at Lucy gave him a warm, tingling feeling that made his chest rattle and heartbeat quicken. He couldn't quite put his finger on it; it was different from the time he would finally defeat an enemy, protect his friends, or even finish a damn good meal of spicy chicken wings. But, the longer he looked at her, the more that feeling would surface, like a small humble flame begging for more fuel. This was unsettling. Lucy could not be lying on the bed like that. Otherwise that unusual feeling will grow and he will end up exploding in an act of spontaneous combustion. That was certainly one way to go, but he'd rather not.

He glanced at the clock for what seemed to be the thousandth time, sighing. It ticked on the wall, extending even the seconds, marking the time of his confinement. A minute had passed since he last checked an hour ago, or so it seemed. Natsu had enough. "Dammit!" He yelled, causing the blonde to jerk up from her bed.

"What's gotten into you?" She asked, bewildered.

"Luce…I can't do this anymore. I have to get some fresh air."

"If you go outside for any reason that is considered non-essential, you could get fined!"

"I know. And that's exactly why we're going jogging." Natsu muttered matter-of-factly.

"Who is we?" Lucy rolled her eyes, returning to writing in her journal. "You could always go by yourself."

"No. Happy's sleeping. And it's always better with you." It was true. Even if he was with Happy, he just didn't quite feel the same without Lucy. Her presence felt like the last jigsaw piece of a large puzzle. When he left her once, the guilt ate at him, and to see the dejected expression on her face it had tortured him even more. Indeed, she completed him, and he only came to accept this until now.

Natsu just couldn't believe that his feelings towards Lucy simply arose from his desire to escape from her room. If it was valentine's day it would be fitting, but quarantine? How ridiculous!

Quarantine was driving him insane.

Little did he know that what he also made Lucy spiral; his words sinking into her heart, setting it firmly in place. Maybe going outside would be a good idea. "Fine." Lucy huffed, pushing him out of her bedroom door. "I'll go and change first."

Natsu did not care how long she took. He was finally free, and could distract himself from the thoughts that plagued him with that odd feeling.

Once bustling streets of Magnolia were now completely desolate. At a complete standstill. Silence hung in the air, suspended. It was like a void, desperate to be filled with market chants, conversations, anything that would remind them of the frenetic rush of the day. Flecks of sunshine mingled excitedly with the few wispy clouds in the sky. Buildings reared their heads toward the pair, glaring, in attempts to get them back inside. But they still sauntered to the meadows nearby. It called to them; a winsome expanse of green lay before enticingly before them, daffodils rustling gently in the soft breeze.

Lucy was not too bothered with going outside now, and began to stretch before transitioning to a squat. Natsu's eyes trailed down to the tight black yoga pants complemented her pert derrière as she bent down. He could not help but notice how it emphasised every curve on her body. They looked soft, almost like two pillows, he thought. How he would like to ravish them, indulging in their—

Natsu could feel himself tense as the very thought. He gulped. That odd feeling had now gathered in his pants, and it was uncomfortable. Even if he went outside, his thoughts would trail back to Lucy. Fuck. His mind was fumbling, completely erratic. That little flame now roared with desire, begging to be noticed. He had to put out that flame, quick. And with that in mind, he took off running.

The grass blurred below him as a surge of adrenaline coursed through his veins. The steady thump of footsteps echoed in his ears. His tousled salmon coloured locks whipped back and forth as Natsu flung himself over large rocks and swung from fragile tree branches. The delicious rush of wind past his face thrilled him and his muscles stretched and pushed harder.

With a cocky smirk plastered on his face, Natsu turned back to her and stuck his tongue out teasingly. "Catch me if ya can, Luce!"

Lucy broke out of her squat and chased after Natsu. She couldn't keep up. But the sight of him looking so carefree gave her a sense of happy satisfaction. Her heart pounded against her chest and she lengthened her strides. She was definitely not going down with a fight.

Like cat and mouse, Lucy chased after him until he was within her reach, pulling him into her. They toppled over each other, trying to catch their breath, and burst into cacophony of giggles at their own clumsiness. Natsu found himself staring at her once again: the sunlight painted her pretty lips a soft rose; her skin and eyes glimmered with glee. Something about that hue, perhaps the reflection of the brown of her eyes, made Natsu's heart leap in a way it never had before. The semblance of a smile flowed free around her face. She had the appearance of someone completely at peace, without a care in the world at that moment.

The flame Lucy ignited no longer went unsung; the glowing embers danced around his heart and melted its' cage away. Natsu leaned in, inhaling her floral scent. Why did she have to look so enticing? His lips hovered her jaw, tracing the lines of her ears to her collarbone. Lucy's heart pounded, even more so than running. Blood flowed rapidly to her cheeks, turning her face as red as ever. His tongue slid into her mouth, massaging her tongue ever so slightly. "N-Natsu…." She whispered and let out small, quick moans as he relished her lips.

The rest of the world soon engulfed in their lustful burning flames as their kisses grew more urgent.

As their lips pulled apart, a gentle breeze fluttered over the flame extinguishing the desperate heat. Their breathing came out in short, desperate gasps. The intensity washed away and the rest of the world slowly came back into focus.

They did not utter a single word to each other. They just knew.

So much for social distancing. Problem was that they were no longer doing some form of exercise, and their reason for frolicking outside was considered non-essential so they could risk being fined, and being a threat to others.

Unbeknownst to them, Happy had witnessed the entire thing in the distance, and had used Lucy's Lacrima phone to call the Fiore royal guards. He could use some jewels to buy some fish. Natsu and Lucy wouldn't mind...would they? "Hello...Yes. I see two young lovers near Magnolia Meadows, pretending to be doing their exercise for the day just so they could steal a moment together...Hundred jewels? Yessir!"

I do not want to undermine the severity of the current situation. This was based off a tweet I saw, and I thought I would take a little break from Wonderwall (check it out lmao!) and think a little more positively. However, my main message is to please stay safe. Practise social distancing. It is crucial.

I hope you enjoyed reading, and a review would be very much appreciated!
