I'm importing this story from Spacebattles to . This was a worm that was stuck inside my brain for years. I always thought I could just get rid of it by just reading other Fallout Justice League Crossovers, but for some reason I can't. With that said, I decided to just write this one out of curiosity and to kill the worm, if people like it, then great, if they want me to write more, then really great. If people don't like it, well, tough.

I don't own Fallout New Vegas and the DC Animated Universe, those are properties of Obsidian, Bethesda and Warner Bros. I'm just some sucker on the internet who just wanted to write something out of curiosity.

With that said, I hope you enjoy.

"I'm getting real tired of this shit" Said Christina, as she pumped another shotgun shell into the legionary, this time another Vexillarius sent from the warlord Gaius Magnus, the 'rightful' heir to Caesar. Truth be told, she didn't really give a damn in remembering, to her it just sounded a lot like the politics back home. Plus, with a NCR and Followers Garrison in Big Mountain, they were finally had some breathing room to capitalize on their victories. Maybe, within a few months, all the lands of the South West would become a part of the NCR, but that was just the wishes of a patriot.

She was an NCR gal through and through, a patriot and a ranger, like her father before her, but one thing they disagreed with was the politics. She wanted to do more for her country, while her father would have wanted her to stay put. So she got honorably discharged and began work as a courier.

"Well what did you expect? Caesar's training is so thoroughly ingrained that they don't know what to do." Arcade replied, blasting another plasma round into the charging Veteran with his plasma pistol. The good doctor had decided to continue traveling with her to explore the wasteland and help more people.

The mojave was becoming a safer place day by day, with the help of Governor Crocker. Though that was very easy, considering the fact that he was kept in check by the New Vegas Council, and that both parties had joint control over the Securitrons now. Given that Freeside was now opening the first ever designated hospital, Arcade decided that Julie could take care of things back west.

As they continued firing on the group of assassins, an Eyebot fired on the Legion assassins. ED-E was Christina's oldest companion, and while she had made many friends on her travels, ED-E was very special. A gift from Jonathan Nash, the little eyebot had been a close companion all the way to the Divide. She was quite ecstatic to find out that the robot had transferred all of its data to it's mojave counterpart, and with a bit of tweaking, she was able to restore her friend.

"Well, you'd think we'd make a dent to their numbers, but it feels like they still have reserves. Seriously, you'd think Caesar would have a plan for his death and Lanius." Christina continued, as she pulled out her upgraded hunting rifle to take out the last legionary, who was fleeing the scene. "At least that last one had enough sense to run. Not like it helped."

She then proceeded to loot everything the assassin's had, and set up camp. She used the legion armor to repair the kevlar armor Joshua Graham had gifted her. While not as strong as her other armors and suits, a lot of legionary soldiers fled in fear of her. Probably because it reminded them of the burned man.

As they proceeded to settle in for the night, she asked Arcade a key question. "What do you think we'll find at this Are 5 place? Weapons? Technology? Maybe something to end the world?"

Arcade shrugged. "Who knows? Alot of refugees and former slaves that fled the legion following Hoover Dam have seemed to talk a lot about it. They seem to have built some sort of superstition that that place is cursed. Calling it the devil's pit. Much like those old books about that old religion. If I had to guess most logically, given the presence of a number in the name, probably an Old world security system."

"A security system?" Christina asked. "Probably standard military installation. I've seen tribals before think that bear traps were a sign of god being angry for entering the caves and old world buildings. Just need to be careful."

"That may be, but Caesar was never one to train his subjects to fear robots. Normally the egotistical dictator would have his soldiers bury whatever threat in bodies. If it was robots, he probably would just send his weakest to take fire, while his strongest destroyed it." Arcade responded.

"Regardless, it's something we can handle. Just hope that it isn't another doomsday weapon like Archimedes. Maybe we should have brought Veronica with us. I know she would have definitely liked the possibility for new toys to play with." She said, reminiscing of the Brotherhood Scribe that felt like a little sister.

"You know why she didn't want to come. They did after all wanted to spend more time together. I don't blame them, that is after all what I would do." Arcade responded, reminding her of the situation back in the Mojave. Christina had finally managed to reunite Christine and Veronica after years of separation, and the two were spending much lost time together. They however said that if she was ever in trouble, the couple would come back to get her out of trouble. It was after all what Christina would do for her friends.

"Beep beeeeeep beep." ED-E responded

"Your right, ED-E, they'll be fine. I just can't help but worry for my friends." Christina responded. It was a long time since they traveled together, and while they were now swamped in new responsibilities, they still kept in touch with each other. Arcade proceeded to put his hand on Christina's shoulder.

"You're too good for this rotten Earth, you know that. Even though we have disagreed in some cases, I know your heart is in the right place. Now, let's get some rest. We have a big day tomorrow." Arcade then proceeded to hit the sack, while Christina continued staring at the fire, reminiscing of the past.

She was standing before Caesar in an opulent tent, blood splattered all over the linen, in the Sierra Power Armour that Colonel Royez had bequeathed to her after a legion assault, probably as a favor and for the fact that his crippled leg wouldn't allow him to take part in combat anymore.

She had charged in using the armor, her upgraded K9000 cyberdog gun and a shit load of Stimpacks, Med X and Implant GRX to just charge in and mow down the legion fodder, turning the once mighty war camp into a blood stained and gory mess. But even though Caesar had a tumor, he and his praetorian guard were still capable of a fight, as shown by the dents and dings in her armor.

Their ballistic fist and Caesar's displacer glove were effective, if a little hypocritical. After all, Caesar had stated that his legion where superior to the NCR because of how they never fought with technology, how they didn't cower behind a technology but revelled in honorable and bloody combat through their own efforts. But really, it was just another one of those stupid controversies, not like it mattered, with many of them lying on the ground with holes soaking the ground.

As she proceeded to finally kill Caesar, her gun clicked not with another bullet, but with a snap. Dry. As she proceeded to reload her gun, she had stepped on Lucius's head, the fanatic's skull splattering underneath the mechanical weight of her armour, it was only then Caesar finally spoke.

"You fool, do you know what you've done?! You have destroyed the only true hope for mankind! What goods your technology if the men behind it remain week, profligate?!" Caesar yelled, before coughing up more blood.

"Big talk for a man coughing up blood. You know, I would offer to fix your Autodoc, but you did say you have an aversion to technology. Plus, it looks like it's been shot to hell, so looks like I just took care of that problem." Christina said, banging the side of her jammed gun.

"I would have saved you all, culled your weakness so that only the strong would rule. But now, you are truly lost profligate. You will spend your days walking forever in the wastes, wandering the dusty road until there is-" He didn't get to finish his sentence, Christina having capped the man with Maria. One of the only good things that bastard Benny gave her.

She then proceeded to loot the entire place to bedrock, grabbing everything that wasn't nailed to the floor. She stopped however, when she felt a few dings on her armor as she approached the training camp.

Quickly almost on instinct, she pressed the trigger and a hail of bullets came flying out. As she did, she received a haunting feeling, it was the same feeling she had when she killed Tomas. It was a gut instinct that she learned was always right. She walked to the corpse and was greeted by the glassy eyes of the legion instructor. And next to him was a crying 8 year old.

The boy looked up to her and began backing away fiercely, grabbing a training knife and trying to be brave in the face of the cold looking power armor. She tried reaching her hand out, to maybe comfort the kid or something. The kid just kept a grip on the knife, although his hands were shaking with fear.

"Stay b-back. I am a l-legion soldier, you profligate, and you-l die as the profligate you are." The kid said, though probably trying to convince himself than to convince her. Then she heard a trickling, followed by an acrid smell. The boy had pissed himself scared.

She didn't know what to do. She hated the legion, but she had just killed a child's father figure. She had done so in self defense, but she knew that nothing would make this right. All she said was two words.

"Let go." And with that, the kid just dropped the knife and started sobbing uncontrollably. His only witness the NCR soldier in imposing power armor, like the reaper who held little mercy.

With a heavy sigh, she struggled to fall asleep. Those kids had lost everything they knew to be family, and where now stuck in a foreign land being taught that their kind where scum. She just hoped that the kid would be ok.

With that unpleasant memory, she finally fell asleep on the sleeping roll she had.

It was now dawn, and the group had walked all day when they finally saw a sign.

Welcome to Are#5#

Behind the sign was a slew of buildings, with military grade robots, but not like anything she had ever seen. The green coloring of their armor put Christina at unease. Unlike many other robots that were either rusted or paint leaching off, these robots looked like they were fresh off the assembly line. The only place she seen robots that clean was Fortification Hill. And unlike Securitrons, Protectrons, Mister Handies and even Sentry Bots, these robots were humanoid.

Pulling up her VATS HUD, she discovered that these robots were called Assaultrons. That itself was going to be a problem. It was fortunate she had with her a pulse gun. Before she and her companions could do anything, one of the Robots came up.

"Hello, I am Omniscient Model N1, code named OMN1, I am the main caretaker of this facility. I'm sorry, but due to the declaration of national emergency, by regulation 47-DX I must ask if you have clearance and ID before you enter. If you are unable to provide both clearance and ID at this time, please come back when you have the proper credentials. Any unauthorized entry to this facility will be considered an act of treason, and you will be shot." So far, so good, but if this was the devil's pit, she wanted to ask a few questions.

"Quick question, why was it that we've heard of legion members being slaughtered in droves." Arcade asked.

"Assailants known collectively as Caesar's legion have repeatedly shown signs of aggression. Because of this, I have calculated that these assailants where enemy combatants, possibly allies of Communist China, thereby active threats. If you wish to learn more, please provide clearance and ID." It was clear this robot, or whatever it was would not let them in without clearance and ID, and the likelihood of finding someone with that type of clearance was slim. Still, didn't hurt to ask. But before she could ask, she saw the Robco logo on the robot's chassis.

It was a gamble, considering that this robot was not the same type of model as the ones in the Mojave. But this type of robot was still produced by the same company, so even if it was still a different model, it should still use the same override codes as that Securitron did. And considering her luck, she was fairly certain she could wing it.

"7C 0C I72 D" And sure enough, it worked, with the automatic whirring noise within the robot. After a few seconds, the robot responded. "Your clearance and ID check has been confirmed. Please follow me to the testing site." And with that, she was now free to ask the robot any questions.

"What was place?" She first asked. "This is the Homey Airport, also known as Area 51. Situated within the Nevada Test and Training Range, it is responsible for research and development of the latest military technology. These include the latest in laser weaponry, fusion energy, stealth systems, aircraft, and most recently experimental portal technology. With the arrival of human personnel, we can finally proceed with final testing of portal technology.

That was very interesting, even if at the same time it was a little scary. She needed to know more about this portal technology. "What exactly is the progress in portal technology?"

"Beginning in the year 1937, this technology was first theorized when Dr. Sneider first theorized the existence of alternate worlds and the ability to travel between worlds. While Nazi Germany was first to begin researching this, the US military began investing in research into portal technology following Dr. Sneider's conscription underneath Operation Paperclip. His contributions had allowed for the successful research of teleportation and in multiple areas regarding nuclear fusion, but it wasn't until the year 2075 had the American Government made a major breakthrough by successfully sending an object to another world, code named DC Earth. Following this breakthrough, the US military began sending multiple supplies through this portal to begin an expedition on the other side."

That was… Really big. Like really big. An alternate Earth, that sounded too good to be true.

"What's the catch?" She asked, because she learned for a while already that nothing was ever what it seemed, but also because she found herself hoping. An alternate earth would mean a second chance, an ability to begin again. An earth filled with resources, no radiation, no mutant monsters, it was something she hoped for.

"All necessary equipment was already sent to this alternate earth, but the pilot scheduled for the expedition was reported missing following the nuclear exchange in October 23 2077. Following your clearance and ID check, you have been deemed a suitable volunteer replacement. However, under legal concerns, I'm required to inform you of potential dangers on the other side of the gate. Also, I must inform you that given safety regulations, you are allowed to refuse testing at any time." The assaultron declared.

"Typical, something is always dangerous out there. Why can't we go to some place that has nothing but Brahmin, Arcade?" Christina asked, petty like. Arcade simply rolled his eyes at his companion's immaturity. "I like to think that maybe this is how it is. I mean the likelihood of an Earth having no dangers is, while ideal, also highly unlikely. But if what this robot says is true, this could mean a new beginning. We could help a lot more people, but only if we do this."

And that was something she agreed with. If this worked, a whole lot of people could find new lives. And maybe, they could even heal the earth. But that was overthinking things, for now she needed to figure out just what she was charging into. With that, she was determined.

"What will I be expecting?" She asked. OMN1 proceeded to a holographic projector, and activated it. On it a video began playing. "Initial scans have reported low radiation levels. Soil analysis has indicated that, while dry, should be suitable for agriculture if given sufficient water. However, the main danger, according to intelligence gathering, is the presence of metahumans." The assaultron then showed a clip of extraordinary beings. A land of superheroes, aliens and other amazing things. Not knowing of the future that it was helping create. Not knowing the beginning of the hero Courier 6, and how she would change her poisoned earth one more time.
