Putzie Jacobs and Jan Barrows were walking home from Rydell high and they saw a gang walking towards them. "Putzie," Jan said hiding behind Putzie tugging onto his T-Bird jacket.
"Stay behind me Jan." Putzie warned her, protecting her.
Then the gang stop in front of them.
"What do ya want creeps?" Putzie asked.
"The chick." One of the guys smirked.
"Lay a finger on my girl, I'll chop your head off ya freak!" Putzie threatens.
"You wanna fight loser?" The same guy asked.
"Yeah!" Putzie yelled.
"Putzie no," Jan whispers.
"Right here, right now, lets go!" The guy yelled.
"Your on bucko!" Putzie yelled angrily.
"And then I'll get this hottie tramp." The guys smirked.
Then Putzie angrily pushes the guy up against the light pole.
"You don't have the rights to call my girl a tramp you creep, and you'll never ever have her! She is my girl!" Putzie threatens him.
Then the guy punched Putzie hard in the face making him fall backward.
"Putzie!" Jan yelled running to Putzie's side.
"HEY!" They looked over to see Danny there.
"Awww look who is it, it's a wimpy Greaser bodyguard and boyfriend." The guy teased as his friends snickers.
Putzie looks up at the gang upset and hurt, he didn't want to be known as a wimp. He loves Danny, but he wanted to take the fight for himself.
"Danny, Putzie has a black eye." Jan told her worrying about Putzie, kissing his cheek.
Then Danny ran over to the guy and harshly pushed the guy up against the light pole.
"Ever mess with my boy again, I will make sure I'll make your lives a living hell and you'll never see the next morning." Danny threatens.
The guy started to get afraid of Danny.
"Ok, we're sorry...we shouldn't mess with Putzie ever again!" The guy yelled.
"Good and now I suggest you leave before I call my other boy Kenickie who is very protective of Putzie..." Danny smirked evilly.
"Ok, we get it! We won't bother him or the girl ever again!" The guy said once again.
"Good! Now get outta here will ya!" Danny yelled as he lets go of the guy.
Then the gang ran off, scared of Danny and then Danny helped Putzie up, grabbing his chine taking a good look at his black eye.
"Shit." Danny cursed. "Those idiots are dead men."
"Danny stop." Putzie begged.
"I gotta take ya home." Danny said.
"No!" Putzie snapped. "Danny, I take my own battle myself!"
"Putzie..." Danny started.
"Look, I know your just looking out for me and protecting me...but I gotta stand up for myself!" Putzie yelled.
"Putzie, stop!" Jan warned.
"When every time I get hurt or something, I become a wimpy one who need protection every damn second!" Putzie yelled.
"It's my job to protect you Putzie!" Danny snapped.
"I know that man! But you gotta stop it man!" Putzie yelled. "Just...let me handle it on my own! I don't need you to stand up for me all the time!"
"Putzie!" Jan scolded.
Danny huffs and let out a sigh.
"Fine Putzie...if you don't need me anymore..." Danny started. "You don't have to worry, I won't ever protect you ever again."
Putzie looks down feeling bad.
"Danny," Putzie started.
"No, it's fine." Danny said. "Your on your own Roger."
Then Danny walks away.
"Danny!" Putzie yelled.
But Danny just kept walking.
"What have I done?" Putzie asked.
"Putzie, you do realize that he did it because he loves you like a brother and do anything to protect you, if something happen to you." Jan said.
Putzie lets out a sigh.
"I'll go talk to him after our date." Putzie says.
"That's a good idea Putzie." Jan agreed.
With Danny and Sandy at Sandy's house, Danny was walking back and forth with Sandy sitting on the couch. "I can't believe I said that to him...but what he said had me in shock and made feel like I just lost my brother!" Danny yelled.
"Danny, sweetie." Sandy started as she stood up. "Do you ever tell him why you are so overly protective of him?"
"Sandy," Danny shockingly says.
"Danny," Sandy stared up at him.
Then he lets out a sigh and sat down with Sandy next to him on the table.
"When we were only 2 years old, Putzie was a lot smaller than us and we were at the park, I was in charge of watching Putzie on the playground and when he was pushed off the slide..." Danny started. "He was screaming and crying his head off, his knee was bleeding a lot...he fell on a hard cement...I...ever since then, I promise myself that I'll make sure he is safe and protected...I can never let anything bad happen to him..." Then Danny looks down. "That is my number one worst nightmare, is Putzie, the guys, my baby sister Daisy, my folks or you getting hurt badly...I just...I can't live like that." Danny told her.
Then Sandy hugs her boyfriend and kissed his cheek gently.
"Oh Danny," Sandy says. "I'm sorry about that."
"Yeah, he probably hates me now." Danny said.
"No he does not." Sandy tells him. "Your his role model, his big brother figure...he looks up to you Danny."
Danny smiled down at his girlfriend.
"Yeah, I guess your right." Danny says.
"Of course I am." Sandy gently says.
Then Danny hugs her in his arms and kissed her head. That night after dinner, Danny was resting on his bed, smoking, until he heard a knock on his bedroom door.
"Who is it?" Danny asked.
"It's me, Putzie." Danny looks up and sat up, walking over over to his door and opens it.
"Putzie, your here?" Danny asked. "I mean, what's up?"
"Look Zuko, I came to apologize." Putzie said walking in the room. "I'm sorry for getting mad at you being so over protective, I know your just looking out for me."
"Putzie," Danny said stopping him. "I think I should tell you why I'm so overly protective of you is because...you're my youngest best friend and your more of like my baby brother...and I have the need to protect you...and what happened when we were 2." Danny explained as he sat down.
Putzie slowly sat down next to Danny.
"Oh," Putzie quietly says. "But...you should know that I am a brave and a tough kid."
"I know you are, but...I just...can't let anything or anyone hurt you...if I don't protect you...I blame on myself for failing." Danny admits.
Putzie lets out a sigh.
"You could never fail me or anyone..." Putzie told him. "Everyone loves it when you protect the ones you love."
Danny smiled a little.
"Yeah..." Danny started. "But if you want to take the battle on your own for now on...you can." Danny smiled.
"About that..." Putzie started.
"Nevermind, I'm still gonna protect ya." Danny smiled and they laughed.
"Thanks for having my back Danny." Putzie smiled.
"Anytime buddy." Danny replied as they stood up.
Then Putzie pulls Danny for a hug and Danny hugs him back.
"Love you, big brother." Putzie said.
"You too little brother." Danny replied.
Then they let go and Danny pats Putzie's head.
"Come on, lets go meet up the guys?" Danny suggested.
"Hey Danny, is it ok if we just have a guys' night, you know, brotherly bonding just the two of us?" Putzie asked.
"Of course kiddo," Danny smiled. "Come on, lets go watch some late night football."
"Yeah!" Putzie cheered happily making Danny chuckle at him.
Danny puts his arm around Putzie, he didn't care if they were greasers, all he cared about was his youngest best friend Putzie and he would do ANYTHING to protect him and of course Putzie always feels safe in Danny's arms. They weren't just best friends or T-Birds members...they were brothers.
