Summary: What if Ben wanted the Core Four to have family present for Family Day?

AU! Core Four have been raised to be good along with other kids! Some villains not evil! Good Chad! Audrey is good as well but hides it because of Grandparents! Ben and Mal are dating along with Evie and Doug! Carlos and Jane are close!

Ben was digging through his locker for a binder when he felt someone come up behind him. Turning his face, he saw that it was Lonnie and Doug, "Hey guys. What's up?" Finally finding the binder he was looking for, Ben turned to face them completely. It was Doug who answered, "We were wondering what you were going to do for our new students." Giving the boy a confused look Ben responded, "What do you mean?" Sighing Lonnie looked him straight in the eye, "Ben it's Family Day this weekend. They are going to be practically alone."

Pushing off his locker Ben started to head to a picnic table since he had free period as he answered her, "I know Lonnie. I was thinking of setting up a video chat for them with their parents. The only thing is I don't know if it will be alright. I don't know if all of their parents are good." Lonnie was about to reply when she spotted Mal and Evie headed their ways, "Hey Mal! Hey Evie!" Waving the two girls joined them, "Hey guys. We were just heading to out to the lawn to study for free period. What's up?" Smiling Ben leaned over and kissed Mal on the side of the head and put his arm around her shoulder in a quick hug, "Not much. We were just talking about Family Day." It was Evie, who was wrapped in Doug's arms who asked, "Family Day? What's that?"

Silently agreeing that the five of them would hang out for free period together they went and found a table for them to sit at while Ben answered, "It a day where everyone's family comes to visit. They get to see what their child is doing in school and even catch up with their own friends that they haven't seen in a while." Nodding the girls couldn't help but miss their family back on the Isle.

Seeing an opportunity to learn about his girlfriend and friends, Ben decided to ask some questions, "Speaking of family, when I was making the decision on who came over, I was given a list of names. All of the kids on the Isle were on the list and only had one parent listed. The only one that didn't is Anthony, Anastasia's son. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but do you know who your other parent is?" Laughing quietly, Mal put the young prince out of his misery, "You're not being rude Ben. Yes, we know who our other parent is. At least the kids in our group does. Most kids are raised by one of their parents for different reasons. Either the parents don't get along, the other parent doesn't want the kid, or the other parent has died. There a few of us who were raised by both of our parents, but for appearances and safety it is generally unknown who the other parent is."

Nodding Ben answered, "That makes sense." He wanted to ask Mal who her father was but didn't know if it was alright. Mal could see what he wanted to ask and decided to take pity on him, "Ben you can ask about my dad. He and my mom are married and have been for 18 years. My dad is Hades and I have a little brother named Hadie." It took a second for the others to process what Mal said and it was Doug who spoke first when it sunk in, "Hades?" Lonnie just stared at her and Ben was next to respond, "I can see it. That explains why your hair is purple and not black like your mothers."

The group of five spent the rest of their free period talking and having fun. That afternoon Ben was sitting in his room, working on homework, when there was a knock on his door. Opening it he saw that it was his friend Chad and his ex-girlfriend Audrey. Walking into the room and sitting down at his desk, he faced the two after they closed the door, "What are you two doing here?"

Sighing Audrey slumped her shoulders, "We're here to apologize. We know that we haven't been acting like your friends lately." Snorting Ben spun back to face his desk and grabbed his pen to work on his homework, "You think?" Rolling his eyes Chad responded, "Alright we deserve the sarcasm. We are sorry. We want to apologize to the others as well, but we don't know how. We know that it will take more actions than words for them to believe us." Nodding Ben placed his pen down and turned to face them, "That is true. Though it may help if you explain why you were rude to them. They appreciate honesty and to be honest so do I." Nodding Audrey agreed with him, "You're right. We will explain everything."

Ben gave them a gesture of go on before Chad began explaining, "Alright, to be quite honest I got a bit jealous. You've been my best friend for years and when you were talking so much about bringing the VKs over and everything, I guess I just thought that you would forget me. I know its stupid, but I thought that one of them would replace me as your best friend. I know that you feel like being a royal is restricting sometimes and these guys don't follow all the rules. I thought that you would find them more exciting than I am." Ben gave him a look and sighed, "Chad, you are my best friend. I could never replace you. You're right, I do find royal life restricting at times, but I also know that you will make any boring royal event fun. I also know that you will get along with them. They are actually very funny. Now Audrey what is your reasoning?"

Steeling herself, Audrey looked at him, "My reason sounds stupid. I feared that my grandparents would find out if I was nice to them. You know how they feel about the Isle and the people on it. They have been practically controlling me my whole life. My parents have tried to step in and stop them, but they were always busy with running the kingdom. They barely got them to give up the throne. It took talking to the advisors and basically have a coupe to get them to give it up. They have been telling me what to wear and who to be friends with for years. They have spies everywhere in the kingdom. The one time I didn't act like they wanted when I was twelve, they somehow found out and when I got home, I was locked in my room for an entire day. I wasn't even in Auroria when I did the 'wrong' thing. I was in Cinderellasburg. I was visiting Chad with you, Doug, Lonnie, and Jane. My parents were away for a royal meeting with Agrabah and the servants were scared of my grandmother, that and she tricked them into thinking that I was either not hungry or that I had already ate. When my parents found out, they were furious. They told my grandparents that they were never aloud to punish me again and that I didn't do anything wrong."

Nodding Ben thought over her explanation before realizing something, "Wait, is that why you were so adamant about us dating?" Nodding Audrey expanded, "My grandparents wanted me to date you so I could be Queen of Auradon. It makes no sense since I'm going to be Queen of Auroria after my parents retire. So, should we go now to apologize and explain or wait a bit?" Tilting his head Ben thought for a minute, "Perhaps we should wait to have you talk to him. Actually, I could use your help on something. I'm planning a surprise for the four for Family Day. The only thing is if I go and help set it up it'll be noticeable." Catching on Chad nodded, "So you want us to help set up the surprise? I'm in. What is the surprise." Nodding Audrey agreed with him, "I'm so in. Chad and I will definitely draw less attention than you Ben." Ben looked them straight in the eye and smiled, "I'm bringing them some family from the Isle."
