Rogue Trader William Vladimir Aquilious Von Novansburg is currently in a in adilemma as due to a "minor" turbulence in warp transit he some how got knocked off course and back in time.

Of course getting knocked of course and getting sent back in time, isn't all that strange as while it's not all that uncommon, it's far from unheard off.

The problem is that he isn't just knocked off course it's that he got sent back in time. If the star alignments are right then he got sent around 40,000 years back.

This is obviously bad as this was before the Imperium, before the great crusade, before the age of strife and way before the dark age of technology.

To put things into perspective while William isn't to sure but fragmented references found in excavated ancient ship data logs indicates that the dark age of technology starts at around 10~15 Millennium was that about 100 to 150 centuries from now.

Little is known in this Era as most of records regarding this Era is lost and forgotten, so he hasn't even the faintest idea what humanity at this Era looks like. Are they space faring yet? And what about the Emperor? Little is known about the emperor except that he emerged from the chaotic Era known as the age of strife to unite humanity, while the emperor is unquestionably powerful and ancient but surely he can't have existed this far back.

William has read ancient logs from space hulks that that accounts of mass awakening of psykers at the end of The Dark Age in M25. William speculated that the Emperor is from this Era.

(Author: yes I know the emperor was born in ancient Mesopotamia but that information is obviously not widely available)

This is obviously bad...

Or is it? One move from him could totally change the future with unimaginable consequences, as terrifying as that notion might be it however opens up a possibility.

Perhaps he could guild humanity to heights never seen before perhaps even heigher than during humanity's golden age.

The cyber rebellion, the Xeno betrayal, the warps storms that fallowed and... CHAOS.

William could do something about all of it! There's also the chance of him royaly messing it up but what is he? Is he not a Rogue Trader? Someone who takes great risks for the possibility of an even greater reword.

The thought of setting humanity to an even greater heights and even known to later generations as being the ONE to set this in motion is simply to far tempting to pass up.

Having made up his mind William stood from his captains chair and gave the order to head for Terra or known to the ancient humans as Old Earth.

"Set a course for Terra" William gave the order

The room quieted down as soon as he gave the order.

"captain..." a crewman wanted to question that order as Terra is not just someplace that one could simply hop by and take in the scenery.

It's a holy place which the Emperor resides and where humanity was born. Well even without the emperor its still the origin world which all of humanity came from, from the Tallarns, Cadians, Kregs, Valhallans to even the abhumans species such as the dumb ogryns and cat-like felinids.

The great humanity that dominated 2/3 of the galaxy with a mere 1 million worlds in a galaxy that has 400 billion stars systems, to think it all came from one little planet called Terra... simply remarkable.

Anyway, before the crewman can finish his sentence William interjected "Head for Terra" this there's steel in his voice as he stared down at the crewman who dared to question his orders.

The stare from William felt quite heavy it's as if staring at the barrel of a gun, the crewman took a step back in fright before replying.

"Ye... Yes sir as you command" the crewman stutters as nobody questions the captain especially in his own ship.

it didn't take long before the large lumbering warship began to move as it tears a hole in the fabric of reality, opening a portal to another dimension called warp.

.

The ancient Apocalypse class battleship then slowly enters the portal.

Once the ship fully enters the portal collapses closing the bridge to the immaterium.

(yes warp travel is possible even without the galactic north pole known as the Emperor. Humans have been doing it since the dark age of technology, great crusade and in modern times in the eastern fringes where the light of the Emperor is faint in some cases not visible)
