Weiss fidgeted as she waited just outside her apartment complex for Ruby to show up. It had been nearly an hour and now she was getting ready to go do her laundry with a person she had only seen in person once and talked to for a grand total of roughly seven hours. And she was going to go do laundry with her, her laundry, that contained all of her clothes, including her more daring choices. Weiss could barely believe she was doing this. A part of her was thrilled to get a chance to talk in person with the crimson haired woman but another part of her was mortified at the prospect of Ruby seeing one of her g-strings or one of her more revealing bras.

Before she could put more thought into her dilemma a black car pulled up to the curb in front of her. Ruby popped out of the driver side door and smiled brightly at her. "Hi Weiss."

Weiss blinked at the car and then looked up at Ruby, she had seen the crimson haired woman driving a motorcycle a few days ago so she was almost expecting her to show up with that but to see her driving a high end black sedan with dark tinted windows she briefly wondered how much money her family made through their business before dismissing it as not her business. "Hello Ruby, thanks again for offering to take me to the laundromat." Ruby came around the car still smiling as she opened the back passenger door.

"No problem Weiss, like I said I've got all my work done for the day and doing anything is better than sitting around the office listening to Yang moan about paperwork." Ruby chimed with a chuckle. Weiss enjoyed the crimson haired woman's chuckle; it was light like chiming bells but there was huskiness to it as well. It sent shivers down her spine. "Besides I'd be terrible person if I backed out now." After Weiss put her bag of clothes in the back Ruby quickly shut the door and opened the front passenger side. Weiss blushed a little as entered the car, Ruby was acting like a perfect date, not that this was a date, and it was really charming her. When Ruby got back into the car and started it up she turned to her, "So where am I headed?" Weiss gave her the address and Ruby hummed and pulled away. "So Weiss, how long have you been in Vale?"

"Close to seven years." Weiss answered, she was use to the question. White or much lighter colored hair was more common on the northern continent so most people who met her knew she was at least from that Solitas. "I moved when I came to University here in Vale."

"Neat." Ruby nodded as she turned a corner, "I had the chance to go University here but I decided to go to an online school before I got my PI and Bounty hunters license." Ruby chuckled as she shook her head.

"I know you said it was the family business but what made you want to get your licenses?" Weiss asked, it had been a question she had been wondering for a while.

Ruby sighed and nodded in understanding, "Well one it's all I've really known, one mom is a Bounty Hunter along with her brother and a friend of theirs, the other mom was a PI and she had ties with the DA offices so I learned the laws pretty early on, they would give me scenarios when I was young and let me figure them out and stuff like that so I was kinda trained for it." She chuckled at that, "I was always attracted to law enforcement jobs when I was young but the more I learned about the restrictions on them and how many of them are often bought off I decided that I liked the more wild side of being freelance like my moms."

Weiss stared at her for a few moments as she tried to dissect what she had just been told, most of it she got and understood but the part that was hanging her up was the fact that Ruby had said 'moms'. "Wait, what?" Weiss questioned, at Ruby's confused look she clarified, "Is one your step mom?"

Ruby shook her head, "Nope." She chuckled as she popped the 'p'. Weiss confusion grew but before she could ask they reached the laundromat. Once Ruby parked around the corner in the lot the pair made their way into the building seeing that there weren't many people inside. Weiss went to change a few lien into change for the machines while Ruby wondered moved towards a vending machine and looked at it.

Weiss was thankful that the woman distracted while she quickly threw her delicate and more risqué underwear into a washer and started it before Ruby could see any of them. "Want some?" Ruby asked making Weiss jump slightly and small amount of blush coated her cheeks as she turned around and saw the crimson haired woman offered her an opened packet of chocolate candies.

"Sure." Weiss nodded and accepted the treat. While she went through the rest of her laundry and sorted them out into different machines, she approached the subjected that had confused her earlier. "Ruby earlier you said No when I asked you if it was a step mother, what did you mean?"

"Oh." Ruby chuckled, "Well I have two moms, Summer Rose and Raven Branwen. They did a procedure that mixed their genes together and they got me from the result." Ruby smiled as she held her arms out and spun around as if to show Weiss her mix. "It's pretty cool cause a lot of people are confused like you and when they ask me about my dad I can just say I don't have one, I've got an uncle and a pseudo dad. Freaks people out when they learn about my family life." She chuckled and shrugged.

Weiss looked at her considering what she had said. She knew about the procedure the crimson haired woman was talking about, it had made waves years ago when it had come out and there was full testing still going on as scientists still tried to explore the full scope of the possibilities. But a new question formed her in mind and she couldn't resist asking, "Is your sister the same?"

Ruby shook her head. "Nope," again popping the 'p', "Yang's mom is Raven but since the procedure wasn't available at the time Yang was born she and Summer asked their friend Taiyang, our pseudo dad, to be the donor. Raven had her and Summer had me. It's also why she's a blonde."

"So do you and her have the same name?" Weiss asked as she started a machine, before she blushed and shook her head, "Sorry if that's personal but Joanna saw you two while you at the diner and she explained it to me so I'm trying to figure it out."

"Joanna?" Ruby questioned as she cocked her head to the side, "Ohhhh. Mrs. Daniels. Yeah she's known our family for a while but we never really explained everything to people before." Ruby shrugged and moved on, "No we don't share last names, I've got Summer's last name Rose because I look like her family and Yang got the Xiao-Long last name because she resembled their family more than the Branwen's. Technically speaking our full names are Ruby Branwen-Rose and Yang Branwen-Xiao-Long. So, we share the Branwen last name but we don't really use Branwen to keep people from being confused. Because if we used the Brawen name they'd assume that I'm uncle Qrow's, which would just be weird."

Weiss nodded in understanding at the explanation she was given. It was a bit confusing but she got it. "So, she and you are sisters through your mother Raven then. I'm going to guess that was the woman in the picture you sent me earlier?"

"Yep." Ruby nodded as she popped herself up on the counter across from where Weiss was putting her laundry in the different machines. "That was Raven. She's awesome and you'd really like her." Ruby paused, "Actually maybe not, she can be a bit overwhelming." She chuckled slightly at that shaking her head.

Weiss fought the urge to blush, she was certain that she would be very willing to date Ruby once they got to know each other better and hung out some more, but she wasn't certain on meeting her family just yet. In order to prevent Ruby from noticing her blush which she was failing to suppress she responded, "Well if she's anything like your sister I can see that."

Ruby snorted as she rolled her eyes, ignoring the cute amount of blush that was creeping up Weiss' cheeks. "Yeah Yang got her personality pound for pound. When it comes to boundaries Yang and Raven are, well, they like to push them a little too much." She blushed as she thought of Yang giving her number to Weiss as an example, she was happy that she did but still the blonde could have let her know first. Weiss blushed thinking about the same instance.

"Yes, I can see that." Weiss nodded turning her head to the side while she blushed. "But she seems like a nice person, well given the company she seems to keep."

"You mean Blake and Neo?" Ruby asked while Weiss nodded. "Yeah those two are great. They told me what happened the other night by the way, next time if you're working late you can give me a call and I'll come get you. That neighborhood gets rough at night."

"I'm aware." Weiss nodded, "I've lived there for seven years. Though that was the first time I've ever come close to being assaulted." She shuddered a bit at the memory, "But those two made sure I wasn't. I normally don't work nights so I don't think it will come up again unless one of the waitresses are sick again." She saw Ruby was about to protest so she continued on, "But I'll keep that in mind if I miss the bus again, walking all those blocks after spending over sixteen hours on my feet is never fun."

"I can imagine." Ruby nodded. "I don't know how you do it."

Weiss chuckled as she finished putting the last of her clothes in the final washer before starting it, "Pain meds, ice packs and soaking my feet when I can." She explained while she turned to face Rudy while they waited. "So, can I ask about their relationship or is that a bit to early."

"Nah it's fine, it's another question I'm use to answering." Ruby shook her head, "Basically Yang and Blake have been together for about seven years now?" She cocked her head to the side as if trying to remember. "They were friends that always kinda flirted the line but Blake was in a relationship with a douchebag and after some things went down, she and Yang got together. Then about four years ago they came back from a business trip with Neo in tow, they got her out of a bad situation and showed her what she was really worth and she kinda latched on to them and they accepted it."

Weiss nodded as she listened to the redhead explain, "From what I've interacted with them I think I should feel sorry for Blake." She chuckled a little while Ruby nodded her head in agreement.

"Yeah she's the most level headed of the three of them. Yang and Neo are terrors when they get going." Ruby said. "And you'd think Neo being mute would make her easy to ignore but boy when she wants to tease she can keep up with the best of them." She gave a theatrical shudder making Weiss chuckle.

"Was it hard learning sign langue to keep up with her?" Weiss asked.

Ruby shook her head, "No not really. We got exposed to a lot of it rather quickly so it was 'learn as fast as you can' to make sure Neo felt like she was part of the family. The hard part was learning her 'accents' and ticks. Like half the time she'll sign one handed or only half the sign." Weiss gave her a confused look, "Think of it someone who only speaks Mistain translate something in Menagerian into Basic. The words are close and sort of line up but some of the phrases have to be considered for context." Weiss nodded, though a new thought popped into her head.

"So besides Basic and Universal Sign, what else do you know Ruby?" She asked.

Ruby cocked her head to the side as she spoke, "Well Valiction and Dragnarian are my best two besides Basic. I'm pretty good with Menagerian but I only know how to say a handful of things in Mistain and Atlassian and next to nothing in Calici." Weiss looked at the girl in awe, she hadn't been counting on the woman to know almost all of their world's languages. She herself only spoke Basic, Valiction and Atlassian. Ruby seeing her shock just shrugged, "My family is full of worldly travelers so it's hard not to pick them up." Weiss nodded still in slight shock before a thought popped into her head.

"Would you mind if I heard some of your Atlassian?" She asked shyly.

Ruby blanched before blush started to coat her cheeks. "Well, uh, sure but, ummm, don't like judge my accent or anything."

"I won't Ruby, promise. It's just been some time since I've actually gotten to hear it besides speaking to myself." Weiss smiled. She couldn't help but think that the blush made Ruby look particularly cute and the way she fidgeted made something deep inside Weiss hunger. There was something about watching Ruby squirm under such a mundane question when Weiss knew she chased criminals and investigated people for a living.

"Fine." Ruby sighed. "Ich mag die Farbe der Augen sehr. (I really like the color of eyes)."

Weiss felt a bit of blush heat up her cheeks while she smiled at the silver eyed woman, "Close, but not quite right. It's 'Ich mag die Farbe deiner Augen sehr (I really like the color of your eyes)."

Ruby rolled her eyes. "Well I was close, wasn't I?"

"Close, yes but in Atlassian being close could be the difference between being bored and being boring." Weiss chuckled.

"It's also the difference between being warm and being horny right?" Ruby chirped making Weiss blush even more. "Glauben Sie, wir könnten etwas dagegen tun? (Do you think we could do something about that?)." Ruby wiggled her eyebrows at her making Weiss blush more.

"Is all you know is how to flirt in my language?" Weiss huffed as she looked away from Ruby's cheeky smile.

"Blame Yang." Ruby shrugged, "She's the one who taught me most of what I know."

"I shudder to think." Weiss rolled her eyes just as the buzzer on her first load of laundry went off. She turned to open the lip and place them in a dryer when she paused, the first load was her underwear. Her rather risqué underwear included. And Ruby was sitting right beside the closest dryer. She blushed at the through of having to move the lacey and revealing clothing so close to this woman that she was starting to crush on.

"Everything alright?" Ruby asked from behind her making Weiss take a deep breath and open the lid.

"Yeah things are good." She responded as she gathered as much as she could in her arms and turned to the dryer beside Ruby, and much to her relief she saw Ruby turned towards the older woman who and just come in. As quickly as she could she opened the dryer and tossed in the load in her arms then turned back to the washer to get the rest of her lacy underwear. As she grabbed the last of the load she turned back to see Ruby picking up something off the ground and her world froze. In Ruby's hands where one of her favorite and most sinful pair of underwear she owned. It was a blue and white silk thong that hugged her hips tightly and left no lines when she wore a dress, the backside was barely a single string that ran up to a thin and virtually see through small triangle that was the front. Ice blue eyes met sliver.

"You, umm, dropped this." Ruby muttered as she held out the thong.

Wiess reacted on instinct as she gently took the underwear and placed it in the dryer with a muttered 'thanks', closed the door and turned it on. She glanced at Ruby out of the corner of her eye and saw a brilliant red blush coating her cheeks, she knew that her own face reflected her companions. Weiss turned her back to the woman she tried so hard to fight back the blush that was darkening her face.

Ruby was having similar difficulties as she tried very, very hard to keep any images from forming of Weiss in the underwear she had just handed her but was finding it very, very difficult. Images of Weiss with a matching bra, that was just as sheer and lacy. Images of Weiss in just that thong and a pair of white heels laying on a bed. Images of her pulling that barely covering piece of cloth off of Weiss with her teeth. Ruby shook her head heard dispelling that last image as hard as she could. She had only known Weiss for less than 24 hours at this point and thinking about erotic things that involved her wasn't going to help improve their budding friendship. After finally being able to clear her head of thoughts of how sensual Weiss must look in the thong she cleared her throat, "Well I mean it's not like we haven't seen lacy underwear before, I mean I can't even begin to count how many times I've seen Yang, Blake or Neo just strutting around in less clothing than that." Weiss coughed hard as she spun around and glared at the girl only to see Ruby looking sheepishly to the side as she continued to talk, "Actually I've probably seen them with nothing on more than I've seen them with underwear on." Weiss blinked as Ruby continued to ramble, "It's not like their exhibitionists or anything, well Neo kinda is, but she's got the body for it so, wait that's what I mean, I mean she's just really fit and stuff like that, and it's not like I spy on them it's just that's the way they are. And really Blake at least will be conscious enough to wear a robe or one of her kimonos."

"Ruby." Weiss tried to cut over the woman as she started to ramble some quite intimate details.

Ruby on the other hand didn't hear Weiss try to interrupt her and continued on, "And I even have a few pairs like that. I mean there's just something so impowering about wearing something so sexy while you're taking down a bounty. And they are great for keeping pantie lines away when you're wearing a dress, so they are nice for that too, not that I wear many dresses anymore but we've sometimes gone to Police Balls and stuff like that. And I mean you're really pretty so I bet you look great in them too. Dresses! I mean I bet you look good in dresses not the underwear though I imagine you look good in them too."

"Ruby." Weiss tried a little louder, she was starting to flush harder at Ruby's words of calling her pretty and tell her that she would look good in her risqué underwear.

Ruby still didn't hear her and continued on, "I swear I'm not a pervert who goes around looking at people thinking about what they look like in their underwear but I mean you're really beautiful and seeing that is like 'wow I bet she looks hot in those'. And I'm really trying to like not sound like a creep here but I've got to say that you do look really good even when you're in casual cloths so seeing you in something like that has got to make you look amazing, not that you already don't."

"RUBY!" Weiss finally raised her voice loud enough for the crimson haired woman to snap her mouth shut and her silver eyes on her.

Ruby's face was crimson red as she looked at Weiss as her mind finally caught up with what she had been saying and she was sure Weiss was going to say it was time for her to go or something.

Weiss for her part was sure she was blushing just has heavily as Ruby was and couldn't help but feel flattered at her words of how she looked and she was having trouble not picturing Ruby in similar sets of underwear that she had and how the younger woman would look in them but she needed to break this awkward moment between them. She held up her hand when Ruby went to speak, "First of all; thank you. I'm glad you think I'm attractive, it's always nice to hear." At this both of their faces lit up with a slight amount of flush. "Secondly, I really, really didn't need to hear about your sister and her girlfriends. I'm not sure I'll be able to look at them and not blush if I run into them again now." Ruby cringed but Weiss continued on, "I'm sure I'll see them again if we continue to hang out and be friends." Ruby went to speak but Weiss still held her off, "Yes I still want to be friends too, awkward moment aside I am enjoying myself." Ruby beamed at her and she continued on, "And you're right it's not like neither of us haven't seen someone else underwear before, I also have an older sister and when I lived with her I saw more than my fair share of hers. It was similar when I lived in the dorms as well, I saw my roommates in many different states of undress." She blushed as she mentally recalled one of her more shapely roommates who had a tendency to lounge around their dorm in just a pair of panties. The girl may not have been her type but seeing such a figure had stirred a hunger in Weiss. "This is just something we'll have to laugh about after it stops being awkward."

Ruby gave Weiss a grateful nod as she agreed with her. "Yeah. It's just our first time hanging out and it was really unexpected." Weiss nodded, "But hey at least we're both girls so it could have been a lot more awkward if I was a guy."

Weiss grimaced, "If you were a guy I highly doubt I'd have entertained the idea of even keeping your number let alone taking you to do my laundry." Ruby chuckled. "I also don't thing that a guy would even offer to take me to do my laundry as a first hang out idea. They'd try to impress me with some inane idea of showing off their manliness or how well they can do a sport."

Ruby laughed as she nodded, "Or they'd try to impress you with their car or how much of a hotshot mechanic they are by offering to tune up your bike." She paused before adding, "If you had one that is."

Weiss hummed as she put the next load in remembering seeing Ruby on a motorcycle when they first met, "I take it that has happened to you then?"

"Ugh," Ruby groaned. "More often than I care for. Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I don't know how to take care of Crescent Rose." She pouted, "I mean I build her from chassis up and do all of her maintenance myself. There's no way in hell I'm letting some douchebag touch her."

Weiss looked up at Ruby trying to piece together what she had just said, "Wait you named your motorcycle?"

Ruby beamed, "Yep!" She popped the 'p'. "Everyone in my family has name for their bike. Yang's is Bumblebee, Neo's is Cheshire, Raven's first bike was Muninn but she now has Summer's Huginn. Uncle Qrow's is Corvus, and Tiayang's is Lionheart." Weiss just stared. "Blake doesn't like bikes so she's not got one though she'll ride either with Yang or Neo from time to time." Weiss just continued to stare. "And we all do our own maintenance and keep them running right so we're all really protective of them, well Yang does maintenance on both Bumblebee and Cheshire because Neo isn't really the best at it yet but she's learning." Ruby chuckled, "It's actually kind of funny when I'm out on Crescent Rose and some guy comes up to me trying to impress me with his bike and I can just rattle off everything that he's gotten wrong on his own or when I start asking him about technical details about theirs and they just panic because they have no idea. One time Yang actually started doing a maintenance lesson for a group of wanna be biker gang members showing them proper maintenance practices. It was hilarious." Weiss continued to stare at her finally making Ruby fidget, "Sorry I'm a bit of a gear head when it comes to mechanical things."

Weiss shook her head, "No it's not that. It's just, you named your motorcycle?"

Ruby blinked before nodding, "Yep. She's my baby so of course I named her."

"Your motorcycle is your baby?" Weiss repeated.

"Yep. You know how people have fur babies? Well mine's a bike baby." Ruby grinned making Weiss shake her head.

"Yes, but pets will show affection and you know love you back." Weiss pointed out.

Ruby pouted, "Hey now Crescent Rose shows plenty of affection thank you very much. She purrs when we're on a ride and gives off a beautiful glow after a good bath and wax."

"But can you cuddle a motorcycle?" Weiss countered, slightly baffled she was having this conversation.

Ruby looked at her like she was crazy, "No that would just be silly. But you can cuddle up to her when you're feeling the wind in your hair and the road racing below you." She smiled, "There's nothing like that feeling."

"Having never experienced it I wouldn't know." Weiss shrugged.

Ruby looked affronted, "What? You've never been on a bike before?" Weiss shook her head, and Ruby's face took on a look of sheer mock horror. "Oh you poor deprived soul, we need to fix that as soon as we can."

Weiss chuckled at Ruby's look before shrugging, "I've just never seen the appeal." This time Ruby's face wasn't mock horror but one of genuine horror.

"But the freedom, the rush, the exhilaration of it all. There's just so much to describe that I just can't put it all into words." Ruby tried to explain. "Surely you've at least wanted to try."

"The only people who've offered before were men trying to impress me into dating them and I was never tempted by them." Weiss again shrugged, she had lost count of how many men had offered her a ride on the motorcycle before, as long as they got a 'ride' after. She was disgusted at the idea and never took the offer before.

Ruby shook her head before firmly say, "Well that ends now. Next time we can we're going out on Crescent Rose and you're going to experience the joys of riding." Ruby cocked her head to the side and a faint amount of blush coated her checks as a teasing smile pulled on her lips, "Besides I bet you look great in leather." Wiess sputtered as she looked over at Ruby, silver eyes were slowly going up her figure.

Trying to come back with a response Weiss panicked and before she could fully think out her response replied with, "Well you certainly do." As soon as the words left her mouth Weiss slammed her hand over it and blushed hard looking away. Ruby's faint blush went full blown as she looked down and gave the ground a goofy smile unseen by Weiss.

"Umm, thanks." Ruby muttered. There was a few moments of silence that was broken by the chime of a phone. Ruby pulled out her phone and looked down at the screen, Weiss was still looking away and missed Ruby's look change from her goofy grin to a hardened line, her eyes sharpening into silver daggers. But the look changed as quickly as it came so even if Weiss had been looking she would have doubted it had even happen.

When Weiss did turned back she noticed Ruby was looking off to the side her gaze distant. "Ruby?" She asked with some concern placing her hand on the crimson haired woman's knee.

Ruby jerked her gaze back to her and gave her a beaming smile, her hand come up to rest on top of Weiss'. "Sorry, just a message from Raven. A client of mine wants to meet later tonight so I was thinking about that."

Weiss nodded, "Do you need to go now?" While there may have been a few moments of awkwardness between them she was enjoying her time with the crimson haired woman and wasn't looking forward to when they would have to part.

Ruby shook her head, "Nope. They want to mean for a late dinner so I've got plenty of time." Weiss smiled and nodded still keeping her hand on Ruby's knee. The pair just looked into each other's eyes only to jump apart as a loud buzz signaling the first dryer was finished made them jolt back to reality.

Finally both of them seemed to notice that their hands were still resting together and with a small amount of blush from both they retracted their hands, all be it rather slowly.

A/N: So not gonna lie I'm not really happy with this chapter. I think i rewrote it like four times because I just couldn't get a good feel for it or just find a good pattern for it. So after getting sick and tired of typing it out to try to find something I'm just gonna leave it at this and if it's not your favorite chapter either i totally understand. Anyways next chapter we get back into the action and see what Ruby's phone really said. Also we'll see a bit more of Blake and Neo next chapter too and what they get up to when dealing with cultists, which will be devilishly fun.

But that's for next chapter so I'll see you all then.

PS: Thanks for coming around and reading, stop and rest a while, and until you come back please keep safe where ever you are and in whatever you are doing.
