A/N: I will only be writing this in the first chapter, but everything except the plot of this book belongs to Rick Riordan, not me.

Chapter 1: I Meet the Creator

"PERCY JACKSON!" Poseidon announced. My name echoed around the chamber.

All talking died down. The room was silent except for the crackle of the hearth fire. Everyone's eyes were on me—all the gods, the demigods, the Cyclopes, the spirits. I walked into the middle of the throne room. Hestia smiled at me reassuringly. She was in the form of a girl now, and she seemed happy and content to be sitting by her fire again. Her smile gave me courage to keep walking.

First I bowed to Zeus. Then I knelt at my father's feet.

"Rise, my son," Poseidon said.

I stood uneasily.

"A great hero must be rewarded," Poseidon said. "Is there anyone here who would deny that my son is deserving?"

I waited for someone to pipe up. The gods never agreed on anything, and many of them still didn't like me, but not a single one protested.

"The Council agrees," Zeus said. "Percy Jackson, you will have one gift from the gods."

I hesitated. "Any gift?"

Zeus nodded grimly. "I know what you will ask. The greatest gift of all. Yes, if you want it, it shall be yours. The gods have not bestowed this gift on a mortal hero in many centuries, but, Perseus Jackson—if you wish it—you shall be made a god. Immortal. Undying. You shall serve as your father's lieutenant for all time."

I stared at him, stunned. "Um . . . a god?"

Zeus rolled his eyes. "A dimwitted god, obviously. But yes. With the consensus of the entire Council, I can make you immortal. Then I will have to put up with you forever."

"Hmm," Ares mused. "That means I can smash him to a pulp as often as I want, and he'll just keep coming back for more. I like this idea."

"I approve as well," Athena said, though she was looking at Annabeth.

I glanced back. Annabeth was trying not to meet my eyes. Her face was pale. I flashed back to two years ago, when I'd thought she was going to take the pledge to Artemis and become a Hunter. I'd been on the edge of a panic attack, thinking that I'd lose her. Now, she looked pretty much the same way.

I thought about the Three Fates, and the way I'd seen my life flash by. I could avoid all that. No aging, no death, no body in the grave. I could be a teenager forever, in top condition, powerful, and immortal, serving my father. I could have power and eternal life.

Who could refuse that?

Looking at Annabeth, I realized what I should do.

"I accept immortality, but I ask that my friend Annabeth is rewarded with it as well," I announced. Athena smiled at that, happy that her daughter was going to be rewarded.

"So it shall be," Zeus decreed, and ordered the entire Council to raise their hands toward myself and Annabeth, who stood in the middle of the huge room.

"We accept that these demigods shall be rewarded with immortality!" the gods said in unison, blessing us. Lights erupted from every hand, showering us with their blessings. As soon as the last god blessed me, I felt a headache. Soon it intensified to a point of unbearability, and I blacked out wondering if this was some sort of trick, orchestrated by the gods.

Scenes flashed before my eyes, and it wouldn't matter to close them because I subconsciously knew that I was still knocked out. Finally, the scenes stopped flashing and came to a stop at one scene. Before my eyes was a deity, radiating power so great that I knew it could be none other than the creator of all, Lord Chaos. Like I would've expected, his was not a human-like body, and my eyes started to strain from looking at him for too long. Trying not to look disrespectful as I looked away from him, I attempted bowing, and realized that I had no form, no way of bowing down in an attempt to show my respect to the creator.

He announced in a booming voice, reflecting his authority, "Perseus Jackson! You have proven your true potential to me, and freed me from my bonds. I declare you a god, with power enough to rival my greatest children, and give you the power to use the realm of creation!" My thoughts raced, wondering what I had done was so great that the lord of all himself believed me deserving enough for this honor.

"Milord, would you please mind explaining why you thought me this deserving? I mean, I'm not the only one to have done something like this, even Hercules was blessed by the gods to become immortal!"

"Child, this is not the first time you have done something so great. Even in times prior to this, you have done great deeds. I have tested you already, and I believe you have passed my test! I sense great potential in you, enough to be my champion."

"Ok, and what exactly is the realm of creation?"

"Though I do proclaim you a user of the realm, I will hold back your powers over the realm to a tiny bit until you learn to control your new powers. You will still retain the use of your old powers, over water!"

"That doesn't really answer my question," I said. Even though I was very grateful to him for granting me this much power, I decided that if I was going to be his champion, he wouldn't mind me asking questions.

"Your question has to be answered by you yourself! Part of learning how to use your powers is learning about what the realm of creation truly is!" I decided I would just drop the questions and bid him goodbye, now having finally realized that this was actually just a dream.

As if he'd read my mind, Chaos said, "No, this is not a dream, Perseus. Now, enough small talk, you shall soon wake up!"

A/N: So this is the start of my first story! I know this is a common plot but I have many twists to come that will hopefully make this book something different!
