Love finds a way to seep into the hearts of many.
With it a heart can do many things.
It can bring forth the greatest potential one can have or break it all.
Such is the tragedy of the double-edged sword called love.
Kimihito Kurusu was what one could call the room-reader, whenever a social mishap would happen he would always find the right way to fix it, but that did not mean he was exempted from experiencing such situations.
He lived alone in japan in his childhood home. A two-story house with a common design. In his college years his group of friends were what kept the house warm and occupied as a study-spot and as an a occasional party house because of the absence of his parents, but now that the working-stages of life had arrived for him and his group. The house felt a lot bigger and emptier.
Living alone truly fashioned him into an independent person. He did not actively seek out company, but whenever his group of friends were to gather he would never hesitate to offer his house.
His life was often quiet with little to no interesting events. With the ever-growing number of individuals participating in the Cultural Exchange Between Species Program he was visited by a woman named "Kuroko Smith", a coordinator of the program, by some twist of words she managed to get him to sign the program sign-up. She promised him that he would be doing a great help to the cause of peace among all species and that it would make good use of the empty home he had. Not to mention she had brought over her squad of monster girls to investigate the house for any illegal operations that might have been hidden in his home. They seemed fun to be around so he decided to fully agree with the program despite having already signed it. He was then told that the extraspecies exchange candidate would be brought to his house in the following week. Though he was promised he would be told of what species the candidate would be, it had seemed that Agent Smith had forgot to inform him.
It was a sunny morning.
It was the very week after Agent Smith had visited Kurusu and it was the last time she contacted him.
Kurusu felt anxious about the whole thing. He was never told of what species the his soon-to-be housemate would be, which made it even more difficult him to make changes to the house to fit their species.
He sat on the living room couch with the television on, but he ignored it as he was busy with his thoughts.
"Why am I wasting my time here? I should be figuring out what I should do to make this place more extraspecies-friendly, but how can I do that without even knowing what species they could be?"
"Hey you!" A girl's voice announced.
The television caught his attention.
It was an advertisement of a raccoon girl accompanied by a black-haired man wearing a green jacket.
"Yes you! An unaware person who forgot to get a present for your extraspecies friend because of your ignorance and bad planning skill!" The raccoon girl announced as she pointed towards the camera.
"Now that's just too harsh" Kurusu remarked feeling personally attacked.
"Well not to worry! Because we have an amazing offer for you!" The raccoon girl directed the camera towards her jacket-wearing companion who was carrying a large wooden cube that was fashioned with different symbols representing extraspecies.
"Behold the extraspecies ultimate gift box! It's got the gift for every type of extraspecies! For you lamia lovers we have a torso-to-tail heat blanket to make sure your scaled friends are always covered with warmth to feel hot all over when you're away!" She announced gaining a glare from her jacketed companion.
"We got blood-alternatives for your friends who can't seem to stop sucking out all that nutritious liquid out of your body that they can't resist!" She got an even more serious glare from her companion.
"And we even have a something for your friends who come from the sea with our sea ornaments that are sure to remind them of their home as they will the rest of their lives with you!" The raccoon girl blushed as she held her cheeks before being karate chopped by her companion.
"So order now! You never know the possibilities a gift can bring in a relationship!"
The advertisement ended briefly after showing the raccoon girl tackle her companion.
"Looks like I will have something to do today"
One hour later
*Knock
Preparing himself, Kurusu brought his wallet with him."Wow, they sure do deliver quick"
He made his way to the door and noticed through the windows that it was Agent Smith.
"Ah Kurusu, looks like you've been expecting us"
"Well actua-"
She cut him off.
"Well regardless of that. Your liminal housemate has arrived."
She moved to the side revealing the wheel-chaired bound woman behind her.
Her hair was as pink as what beauty could be described as.
Her outfit was that of a royal maid that evoked a presence of professionalism.
Her azure orbs were filled with an innocence only a fairytale could conjure.
Her ears were fin-like and had a pink fish tail in place of where legs would be.
"Good afternoon Dear Sir! My name is Meroune Lorelei and I will be in you care from now on!"
She warmly smiled clasping her delicate webbed-hands together.
Kimihito Kurusa was awestruck of the woman infront of him. And to think she'd be living with him together in his house from the on. Yet there was only one thought came to his mind.
"She's beautiful."
