Chapter 14 All Better?

Once Ludwig entered the common room, he noticed all of his siblings sitting around the table, watching TV. There were four boxes of pizzas sitting in front of them. Ludwig cleared his throat, causing everyone to turn his way. They all looked extremely excited.

"Ludwig!" Lemmy exclaimed. He ran up and wrapped his older brother in a hug. Everyone else approached Ludwig, smiling the whole time.

"It is so nice to see you!" Wendy said.

"Yeah. You were more or less missing in action over the past week," said Larry.

Ludwig nodded as he chuckled apprehensively.

"Yeah. It got a little crazy."

Iggy went up and put his hand on Ludwig's shoulder. He looked concerned.

"How do you feel now?" he asked.

"Better," Ludwig said as he put his hand to his forehead. "That sleeping spell really helped."

Iggy smiled.

"I had a feeling that it would." He turned toward the pizzas sitting on the table. "I hypothesize that you are probably experiencing extreme sensations of hunger?"

Ludwig nodded as he laughed at the way Iggy chose to phrase the question "are you hungry?"

"Yeah, I am. I don't suppose you have any pizza for me?"

"Actually," said Wendy, "Kamek said that you would be waking up today, so we ordered a pineapple pizza for you."

Ludwig immediately licked his lips.

"Thanks guys. I appreciate it."

With that, Ludwig took his pizza box and headed up to his room. He was still impressed that it wasn't in smoky shambles. He reasoned that Kamek probably worked his magic to make it suitable for him and Lemmy. Speaking of Lemmy, just as Ludwig was about to take his first bite, he entered the room.

"Hey," he said.

"Hey," Ludwig responded.

Lemmy smiled sheepishly.

"May I have a slice? I like pineapple pizza too."

Ludwig smiled.

"Sure."

Lemmy's sheepish smile changed to a grateful smile. As he took the pizza, he looked at Ludwig with a concerned expression.

"Are you alright?" he asked. "You look a little frazzled."

Ludwig hesitated before nodding.

"I will be."

Lemmy nodded as well.

"Well, you don't have to worry," he said, his mouth stuffed full of pizza. "I don't think that anything like this will happen again."

Ludwig looked down at his arm. He traced his finger along the vein, which was the place where the source of his power rested.

"I hope that you're right," he said solemnly.

AN: Well, it is finished. I have to be honest; I thought that the original was one of my weaker stories. I feel that this remake is much better, though. Which version do you prefer?

As always, thank you to everyone who favorited and followed, and thank you to everyone who reviewed. I really appreciate it. Well, thank you for reading :)
