The Dragon of Ice

Chapter 1: The Journey of a Thousand Miles

Two young figures walked in the hallway of the Xiaolin Temple.

The first figure was a attractive 13 year old girl had pink hair styled in rabbit ear-shaped odango, jade green eyes and fair skin. She wore a yellow top with a design at the middle, a green skirt with a black belt that contained a silver buckle and a white navy sporting jacket.

The second figure was a small boy with yellow skin and wore a Xiaolin robe.

The girl's name was Alice Hanson and the boy's name was Omi.

"So Omi...you were trained in the ways of martial arts since birth?"Alice asked.

"Yep!"Omi remarked proudly. "Master Fung since I was very small, his the best Xiaolin Master."

"That's impressive."Alice complemented. "Your parents must be very proud of you."

A sad expression grew on Omi's face.

"I...I don't have parents."Omi admitted sadly. "I grew up in the temple all my life."

Alice gasped and covered her mouth.

Omi was an orphan.

"I'm so sorry, Omi-"Alice apologised.

"No, it's okay."Omi assured with a small smile. "I'm not alone, I have Master Fung and Dojo. They are my family."

A gentle smile grew on Alice's face.

She had a good feeling that she and Omi were going to be good friends someday including the other three kids that came in the Xiaolin temple.

In the Temple Garden...

Omi lead Alice and the other students; Clay Bailey, Raimundo Pedrosa and Kimiko Tohomiko.

Clay was the taller student and wore cowboy clothing.

Kimiko was a girl with blonde hair and wore a stylish outfit with white, blue and red colours. She was a few inches smaller than Alice.

Raimundo wore a white hoodie, green trousers, a gold amulet around his neck and red shoes.

"The key is balance."Omi explained while hand walking. "If you are a beginner, you may want to start with three fingers."

"Uh, just curious."Clay said. "When will we need this?"

"Try never."Raimundo responded rudely.

Kimiko was busy talking to her friend on the phone.

"Okay Keiko, I'll e-mail it to you."Kimiko stated. "Is there a Net connection around here?"

"I don't think there is."Alice admitted.

"Oh, no worries."Kimiko assured and took out her PDA. "I'll go wi-fi."

Kimiko used a tech pen to write a message on her PDA as Omi walked forward

"Oh, what is that?"Omi asked in curiosity. "Is it magic?"

"It's a PDA."Kimiko replied. "I'm sending a message to a friend in Tokyo."

"A secret message?"Omi said.

"Nuh, I'm just telling her I've met a very strange kid who apparently doesn't know about personal space issues."Kimiko stated.

Alice frowned, knowing Kimiko was referring to Omi.

"Really? Who?"Omi asked before pointing at Clay. "Is it that guy?"

"Not me, partner."Clay responded.

"It's you, chrome-dome."Raimundo admitted smugly.

Omi blushed in embarrassment.

"Hey Omi, what is the next lesson?"Alice asked.

"Ah ha! Lesson two: the Fierce Cheetah method of fighting."Omi remarked and began rushing around. "I defy you to catch me! Witness the speed of a cheetah. I am dazzling and confounding you! And now, I stri-Hey!"

Clay grabbed Omi's foot with his rope.

"Hope I haven't mucked up your lesson too much, little feller."Clay complemented. "Just can't resist a challenge."

Kimiko continued talking on her phone.

"Yeah, uh-huh."Kimiko said. "The cowboy just lassoed the little guy."

"I am the teacher! You are the students!"Omi snapped. "You will give me the respect I deserve!"

"Respect this."Raimundo retorted.

Raimundo put Omi's pants down revealing his underwear making the small kid blush and Alice to shriek and cover her eyes.

"No way!"Kimiko giggled. "The Brazilian kid just pantsed the bald kid. Ha!"

Alice scowled in annoyance and face palmed.

A Moment After...

The five students went back inside the temple to listen to Master Fung.

The group sat around in a circle.

"The world will be thrown into 10,000 years of darkness."Master Fung explained. "It is your most solemn duty as Xiaolin warriors to find all the Shen Gong Wu before Wuya does."

"I have a question."Raimundo said and put up his hand.

"Yes, Raimundo?"Master Fung asked.

"I saw my room and no bed."Raimundo complained. "Just a mat. What the dilly?"

Master Fung, Omi, Alice, Clay and Kimiko frowned at him.

"Um, we can talk later."Raimundo stated with a smile.

Master Fung lead the five students to a small room where a scroll lied in a table.

"Learning is a treasure that will follow it's owner everywhere."Master Fung admitted.

"The ancient scroll of the Shen Gong Wu!"Omi replied.

Master Fung opened the scroll revealing the first Shen Gong Wu.

"Ah, the Mantis Flip Coin. It has revealed itself."Master Fung said. "Whoever holds the coin will leap with the skill of a mantis."

"Wild!"Kimiko remarked.

"Cool."Alice chuckled.

Master Fung closes the ancient scroll.

"And so our grand quest begins. Follow me to victory!"Omi ordered and rushed out of the room but then grew confused. "I have no idea where I'm going."

"Yeah."Kimiko agreed. "How do we find the Shen Gong Wu?"

"Dojo, you helped Master Dashi hide them."Master Fung admitted.

"Yeah, but that was a long time ago. You can't possibly expect me to remember which-"Dojo said and suddenly shuddered. "This way."

"Right, like we're gonna take direction from a gecko."Raimundo bragged.

"Gecko?!"Dojo said angrily.

Dojo enlarged himself and surrounded Raimundo with smoke.

"Don't ever call me a gecko!"Dojo warned with a grim look.

"Eh, my mistake."Raimundo said nervously.

In the Sky...

Omi, Kimiko, Alice, Clay and Raimundo rode onto Dojo as the green dragon flew towards San Francisco, where the Mantis Flip Coin was.

"Can't believe I went from temple guardian to babysitter in less that a day."Dojo commented.

Alice looked at the area below.

"I've flew on planes many times but this is way better."Alice said with a hint of excitement and took a bite on her hot bun.

"Keep eating that custard fried bun and you will become one, pinkie."Raimundo joked.

Alice gritted her teeth and angrily grabbed Raimundo by the shirt.

"Call me pinkie again and I will make your life a living nightmare."Alice threatened darkly.

"I'm sorry."Raimundo apologised and smirked. "Rabbit head."

Alice scoffed and shoved Raimundo down before going next to Omi to watch Kimiko play on her game pal.

"Jerk."Alice muttered with her arms folded.

"Kimiko, I have never seen such a wondrous device."Omi said. "What is it?"

"It's a game pal."Kimiko responded. "See? I'm making Po-Chi collect the disks."

Kimiko pressed a few buttons to control the game character named Po-Chi.

"Wow!"Omi complemented. "How did Po-Chi get in there?"

"Um, that's where he was born."Kimiko answered and handed the game pal to Omi. "Here. Try it."

Omi pressed the buttons on the game pal as Alice watched him.

"Look, Alice."Omi said with a smile. "My new little friend cooperates with me as I push the buttons."

Alice chuckled. "That's how you play the game, Omi."

Then Raimundo pressed the off switch causing the game pal's screen to go black.

"Ya! My little friend has been taken by the dark forces of evil!"Omi cried. "Po-Chi, are you in there? Can you here the sound of my voice?!"

"There, there, don't cry."Alice said and placed a comforting hand on Omi's shoulder. "

Raimundo laughed until Kimiko punched him on the arm.

"Hey!"Raimundo groaned and rubbed his arm.

"Don't mess with the monk."Kimiko warned.

"Girl, you hit hard."Raimundo stated.

Kimiko went next Omi and Alice.

"No worries, Omi."Kimiko assured and put the game pal back on. "The power just got switched off, see?"

"Po-Chi! You have returned!"Omi gasped excitedly. "I must remember to honor the power of the off switch."

Kimiko and Alice smiled at each other.

Dojo and the young monks-in-training arrived to San Francisco.

Once they landed in the city, Dojo shrunk into his small size.

"Whoa! A lot has changed in the last 1500 years."Dojo admitted.

"So many people. So many buildings."Omi said as he looked around. "What is this place?"

"San Francisco."Raimundo responded.

"Also known as the city famous for it's cool summers."Alice complemented.

"We've got a Mantis Flip Coin to find."Kimiko stated.

Dojo sniffed the air.

"And it's close."Dojo said. "Real close."

Then a boy at the top of a building earned the five monks and Dojo's attention.

"Bow before me, citizens of Planet Earth!"Jack Spicer announced. "I now rule you with the Mantis Flip Coin!"

Jack skilfully landed safely on the ground.

The evil female spirit named Wuya appeared next to Jack.

"You cannot rule the earth yet."Wuya admitted. "You have but one Shen Gong Wu."

"How many are there?"Jack asked.

"Hundreds!"Wuya replied.

"What?"Jack questioned. "Okay, you're gonna need to get solid and help me out here."

"Hello, friend."Omi greeted as he walked forward. "That coin is of great mystical importance. May we please have it?"

"No way, shortie."Jack responded with a smirk. "This Shen Gong Wu is mine."

Raimundo looked at Kimiko.

"How does he know about Shen Gong Wu?"Raimundo asked.

Wuya appeared next to Jack.

"How indeed?"Wuya replied with a evil smile.

"Wuya! Wow, the years have not been kind to you."Dojo insulted.

Wuya flew in front of Dojo.

"Mind your tongue, reptile!"Wuya snapped. "Dashi isn't here to protect you!"

Dojo slithered and hid inside Omi's shirt.

"Away, evil spirit!"Omi demanded. "You cannot stop us."

"She can't. I can."Jack replied and pressed a button on his watch. "Jack-Bots, attack!"

A bunch of Jack-Bots appeared in front of the monks.

"Mince them."Jack ordered.

The Jack-Bots flew towards the five monks.

Nine glowing dots appeared on Omi's forehead.

"Water!"Omi shouted. "Ahh-cha!"

Omi kicked a Jack-Bot and easily destroyed it.

Kimiko, Alice, Raimundo and Clay began fighting the Jack-Bots as well.

Kimiko rushed forward and kicked a Jack-Bot away.

Raimundo grabbed a Jack-Bot by the arm before throwing it to another causing them to explode.

Alice used her fists to punch a Jack-Bot's head and arms off.

Clay did a few movements and a Jack-Bot exploded when it came contact with his stomach.

Omi walked next to Clay.

"It's not your weight."Clay admitted. "It's how you throw it around."

"You never mentioned freaks in pajamas would be lookin' for the Shen Gong Wu too."Jack stated looking at Wuya.

"Details! You've got the flip coin."Wuya reminded. "Go!"

Jack activated his backpack causing him to fly into the sky.

"The Mantis Flip Coin!"Omi gasped.

Kimiko, Raimundo and Alice quickly ducked down as a Jack-Bot rushed forward while spinning it's sharp arms, but it ended up hitting Clay.

Clay crushed towards Omi, preventing him from following Jack.

"Ha-ha-ha-ha! A lesson for losers."Jack insulted with a smirk and flew off. "Don't mess with Jack Spicer."

"Kindly remove your gigantic self from being on top of my body."Omi grunted.

"Sorry about that, little buddy."Clay apologised.

Clay got off of Omi and they stood up.

"Because of you four, we have lost the first Shen Gong Wu!"Omi complained.

"Dude, it was a coin."Raimundo said.

"A magical coin! Do you not understand?"Omi questioned with a glare. "The more Shen Gong Wu Wuya possesses, the stronger she is!"

"Sorry, Omi."Kimiko apologised.

"We'll do better next time."Alice assured.

"Uh, next time is now."Dojo stated. "I'm sensing another Shen Gong Wu."

"Let's see what we've got."Kimiko suggested and opened the ancient scroll.

The scroll revealed the second Shen Gong Wu.

"The Two-Ton Tunic!"

"Oh, I remember that!"Dojo said. "It was Dashi's invulnerable armour."

"Ha-ha! Excellent."Kimiko complemented and put the scroll in her backpack. "Spicer better watch his back, because this round is ours."

Afterwards...

The team race to Venice, where the Two-Ton Tunic was hidden on a bridge.

"The Two-Ton Tunic is mine!"Jack laughed and else the armour shirt.

"Not so fast!"Raimundo snapped.

Raimundo and Clay tackled Jack and the evil boy genius ended up on a small boat.

Omi, Kimiko and Alice rushed forward and the armour shirt landed beneath their feet.

"Jack Spicer."Omi said and held up the armour shirt. "Today, victory is mine!"

"Better not count your chickens before they hatch."Clay warned.

A group of Jack-Bots approached towards the young monks.

"More Jack-Bots!"Alice said in shock.

"A fearsome force."Omi said and placed the armour shirt. "But they are not prepared for the awesome might of the Two-Ton Tunic!"

While wearing the Two-Ton Tunic, Omi accidentally released it's power, making it weigh two tons.

The bridge broke and everyone dropped into the water.

Omi, Kimiko, Alice, Raimundo and Clay brought their heads out of the water.

Wuya glared at Jack.

"You lost the Two-Ton Tunic!"Wuya growled.

"Relax!"Jack assured. "We'll get the next one."

In the Sky...

The monks learned that the next Shen Gong Wu activated is the Eye of Dashi, an amulet that shoots bolts of electricity.

Dojo began flying to the site as fast as possible.

"Look, it's not the way Grand Master Dashi would've done it, but, hey, you're still learning."Dojo stated.

"That's okay."Alice remarked. "From practicing, we learn."

"I do not wish to speak of the failures of me or my students."Omi admitted. "I only wish to find the next Shen Gong Wu."

"Which is?"Raimundo asked.

Kimiko opened the ancient scroll to reveal the third Shen Gong Wu.

"The Eye of Dashi."Kimiko replied.

"The way I figure it, it shoots lightning somethin' fierce."Clay complemented.

Once landing, the monks and Dojo walked in a grass field.

"Now, this is my kind of place."Clay said with a smile.

"Are you kidding?"Kimiko questioned and checked on her phone. "I'm not even getting a signal here."

"Though you gotta admit the air gives a nice chill."Alice commented.

"If I were a lightning-shooting Shen Gong Wu, where would I be?"Raimundo asked and held Dojo.

"Close."Dojo replied. "You'd be close."

Omi spotted the Eye of Dashi dangling on a tree.

"The Eye of Dashi!"Omi called out.

Omi and Jack reached for it at the same moment and reach a stalemate.

"Sorry, monk boy!"Jack retorted. "This one's mine!"

"I was here first!"Omi argued.

Suddenly the Eye of Dashi started glowing.

"Too bad."Jack scoffed and notice the glowing amulet. "Hey, what's with the glowing?"

"It is a Xiaolin Showdown."Omi answered.

"It's a what now?"Raimundo asked.

"A Xiaolin Showdown."Dojo replied. "It's what happens when two warriors reach a stalemate over a Shen Gong Wu. Two words: Freak-y."

"This is getting interesting."Alice commented.

"Jack Spicer, I challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown!"Omi said. "I wager my Two-Ton Tunic against your Mantis Flip Coin. Whoever reaches the last stone first wins the Eye of Dashi. And the other Shen Gong Wu as well."

Wuya appeared next to Jack.

"Accept the challenge!"Wuya ordered. "Accept it!"

"I accept your challenge, Omi."Jack replied.

"Let's go! Xiaolin Showdown!"Omi shouted.

The glow of the Eye of Dashi caused the grass field to rumble and grow high stone pillars, sending Omi and Jack up in the sky.

The challenge was a race across stone pillars.

Omi wagered his Two-Ton Tunic against Jack's Mantis Flip Coin.

"Oh."Omi said nervously. "I did not expect this."

"That's a Xiaolin Showdown for ya."Dojo admitted with a frown. "Always keeps you guessing. Gong yi tan pai!"

Jack and Omi stared at Dojo.

"That means go."Dojo replied.

"How am I supposed to do this?"Jack asked.

"Use your Shen Gong Wu."Wuya instructed.

"Oh, yeah."Jack responded and took out the magical coin. "Mantis Flip Coin!"

Jack easily jumped from one rock pillar to another.

"Yoo-hoo-hoo!"Jack rang out.

"Jack Spicer forgets I have my own Shen Gong Wu."Omi said confidently. "Two-Ton Tunic!"

The Two-Ton Tunic armour activated and Omi dropped on the floor.

"Ugh!"Omi grunted. "Of course, I forgot the Two-Ton Tunic is very heavy. Whoa!"

Raimundo, Kimiko, Alice and Clay watched the scene from a high mountain.

"You know what I just realized?"Raimundo asked. "Master Fung never answered my question about the bed."

Alice rolled her eyes at Raimundo.

Omi carefully jumped on another rock pillar.

"Come on, Omi!"Kimiko encouraged.

"Don't give up!"Alice complemented.

"I've got this in the bag. But, never hurts to cheat."Jack said with a smirk and pressed his digital watch.

Two Jack-Bots appeared in front of Jack.

"Jack-Bots!"Jack said. "Don't care, don't want to know how, just make him gone!"

The Jack-bots flew towards Omi.

"Whoa! I cannot fight with this heavy garment!"Omi panicked and dodged the incoming Jack-Bots. "Whoa!"

Omi looked at Clay.

"It's not your weight."Omi admitted with a smile. "It's how you throw it around!"

Omi used the armour to destroy the Jack-Bot.

"That's showin' 'em!"Clay chuckled.

Omi went out of the armour and went on the last Jack-Bot.

"Honour the power of the off switch!"Omi instructed.

Omi placed off the Jack-Bot sending it down before going back into the armour.

"Don't mess with the monk!"Kimiko laughed.

"Don't just stand there like a buffoon."Wuya retorted. "Finish the race!"

Jack headed towards the Eye of Dashi and Omi landed next to him.

"Now that I've defeated you, perhaps you'll respect the genius of Jack Spicer!"Jack laughed.

"Respect this!"Omi said with a smile and pulled down Jack's trousers.

Jack screamed and covered his underwear.

Raimundo, Kimiko and Alice laughed at the sight.

Omi headed towards the Eye of Dashi.

"Noooo!"Wuya shouted in anger.

Omi touched the Eye of Dashi causing the showdown to end.

Raimundo, Kimiko, Alice and Clay rushed up to Omi.

"Omi, that was sweet!"Kimiko remarked.

"Yeah, you really showed Spicer who's the boss."Alice giggled.

"You done a good day's roundup, partner."Clay added.

"I really liked that robe thing."Raimundo stated. "What's it called again?"

"The Two-Ton Tunic!"Omi responded and the armour grew big again causing him to drop on the floor. "Whoa!"

Raimundo and Kimiko helped Omi up.

"I got ya."Raimundo said.

Raimundo, Omi, Kimiko, Alice and Clay started laughing.

Afterwards...

The young warriors return to the Xiaolin Temple, where Master Fung was patiently waiting.

Alice, Kimiko, Clay and Raimundo now all wore Xiaolin robes like Omi.

Kimiko now had hair dyed black and tied in two small pig tails.

"You have all done exceptionally well."Master Fung admitted and looked at Dojo. "Wouldn't you agree, Dojo?"

"Not bad, for amateurs."Dojo complemented.

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step."Master Fung said.

"Where do you get this stuff?"Dojo questioned.

"I have a desk calendar."Master Fung replied.

"Master Fung, there are so many Shen Gong Wu left to be found."Omi commented sadly.

"Your new friends will help."Master Fung stated.

"Oh, yes, master."Omi replied. "I have already taught much to Kimiko, Alice, Raimundo and Clay."

"But, Omi, they are here to teach you."Master Fung admitted.

"But I am the chosen one."Omi stated.

"You aren't the only chosen one, Omi."Master Fung said. "Someday your new friends may become Dragons, as well. Kimiko, the Dragon of Fire. Alice, the Dragon of Ice. Clay, the Dragon of Earth and Raimundo, the Dragon of the Wind."

"Is this true, master?"Omi asked.

"Yes, but I didn't want to tell you until you were ready."Master Fung answered.

Omi grew dizzy and dropped on the floor.

"Is...he okay?"Alice asked in confusion.

"I don't think he was ready."Clay replied.
