Maria Reincarnated Saga Episode 1: Glaciers Wreckers

On a bright day, the X Tornado is soaring through the sky. Tails is piloting the plane. Amy, Sally, and Rotor are inside as well while Sonic, Eve, and Jazz are on the wings. Everyone is wearing a few snow gear to where they're going.

"So Sally, what exactly are we doing?" Eve asks.

"The Arctic Freedom Fighters said that they needed their help with the glaciers. Apparently, the glaciers are starting to get too close to the Walrus home island so they need help clearing away the ice," Sally says.

"Clearing a way a few ice. Sounds cool if you ask me," Sonic says.

Eve sighs, "Was that really necessary?"

"What? You need to be so cold towards me, sis," Sonic says, confused.

Sally sighs, "Sonic, not now with the ice jokes."

"Fine. No need to give me the cold shoulder," Sonic says.

Everyone soon groans with annoyed looks on their faces.

Rotor sighs with a smile, "Still, it's going to be nice to see my family again. I haven't seen them in a while."

"Yeah. The last time we came here, Dr. Eggman was trying to melt the place to drown us," Eve says.

"Yeah. I hate getting wet," Sonic says.

Eve giggles, "I still think it's weird that you can surf and run on water yet, you're afraid of it because you can't swim."

"I'm not afraid sis. I just don't like getting wet," Sonic says.

"Relax Sonic, we're going to be on ice and snow. I don't think you'll be getting wet any time soon," Amy says.

"Well guys, I see Walrus Island up ahead," Tails says.

Everyone looks ahead to see the island that has the village of walrus living in ice base houses. What also catches their attention is to see the multiple glaciers that are even bigger than the island and they seem to be close to them.

"Wow! The glaciers must have grown and frozen a lot since the last time we're here," Eve says.

"Chao Chao," Jazz replies.

"And they look really close to Walrus Island. We Walrus live in houses made of ice, but these glaciers look like they might fall apart and crush some of the houses," Rotor says.

"I think this is something the Arctic Freedom Fighters might need help with," Sally says.

"Then let's go. Walrus Island, full speed ahead," Tails says. Then flies the X Tornado at high speed to reach the island.

At Walrus Island, Guntiever and the rest of the Arctic Freedom Fighters are waiting close to the edge of Walrus Island. They soon see the X Tornado flying towards the island.

Sealia smiles, "There they are."

"It's about time. I thought we'll have to wait until we freeze," Flips says.

The X Tornado lowers itself to the ground and safely lands on the ice and shows. Then, the Freedom Fighters hop off the plane to meet with their fellow Freedom Fighters.

Guntiever greets them, "Great to see you again mate. Thanks for coming to help us."

"It's no problem. We're always here to help a fellow Freedom Fighter," Sonic says.

"So guys, where should we start?" Amy asks.

"Well, we need to start by seeing the conditions of the glaciers and see what needs to be broken down. Some of us will need to stay in the village so the broken ice won't try to give them any problems," Erma says.

"Sounds like a good idea. I'll stay at the village with Tails and Rotor. Sonic, Eve, and Amy will help the Arctic Freedom Fighters with the Glaciers," Sally says.

"Good idea. Sealia and Flips can help you two out while the rest help get the Glaciers under control," Guntiever says.

Soon, the two Freedom Fighter split into different groups. Sonic, Eve, and Amy head off with Guntiever, Augustus, and Erma to help with the glaciers while Sally, Tails, and Rotor help Sealia and Flips around the village and make sure the ice doesn't fall on the buildings.

Soon, the group reach the glaciers to see how big they are. The glaciers are around twenty to thirty feet tall and wide enough to be an island. The glaciers are covered with snow on the top and the rest is made of ice. A piece of the glacier breaks off and falls into the water.

Sonic whistles, "That is one big ice block."

"Yeah. And with the ice breaking off of them can be very dangerous," Eve says.

"That's why we called you here. This is too big a job to handle ourselves. And the villagers are in the middle of their fish harvest," Erma says.

"Fish Harvest?" Amy asks.

"Rotor told me about it. The Walrus Mobians gather the fish each year. And sometimes even raises fish," Eve says.

"Well, then we better started. I don't like how these blocks of ice are looking," Sonic says.

Eve then brings out her sword while my brings out her hammer.

"Well then. It's time for us to get to work," Guntiever says.

With that, the Freedom Fighters begin to work on breaking the glaciers. Sonic spin dashes on the side of the glaciers causing some of its parts to break. Eve then uses her Chaos energy to levitate the ice so they'll gently land in the ocean. Erma places a stake on the ground giving Amy the right spot to smash her hammer. Amy taps her hammer on the stop of the stake so it will stay still.

Alright Amy. It's ready for you to smash it," Erma says.

"You got it," Amy says. Then slams her hammer to the ground. That causes the ground to shake and crack the ice on the glaciers.

Sonic the spin dashes on the side of the glaciers again and make more parts break off. Eve then uses her powers to levitate the ice and gently place them on the ground. She then uses her sword to cut the bigger pieces of ice into smaller pieces.

"You're doing great, mates. We'll be done with this in no time," Guntiever says.

"Thanks. We're happy to help," Sonic says, landing on the top of the glacier.

Eve puts her sword back in the scabbard, "I can understand why the ice needs to be clear. They can be too dangerous if they get too big."

"We just need to get a few more of the glaciers to break and destroy the pieces and the glaciers will be at a natural size and away from the island," Augustus

At the village, Sally, Tails, and Rotor help the Walrus gather the fish and the rest of their harvest. They also gather clams, and other kinds of food that can be found in the sea. Rotor is aiding his mother with Sally and Tails.

"We're glad to see you again, Rotor dear," Rotor's mother, Georgette says.

"It's no problem mom. My friends and I are always here to help," Rotor says.

"We're glad that we're able to help you. We'll be able to finish the harvest in no time," Sally says.

"Yeah. Any family Rotor are good friends of ours, "Tails says.

"You have such good friends, Rotor," Georgette says. Then gives Rotor a kiss on the cheek.

Rotor blushes, "Mom."

Sally and Tails begin to giggle with smiles on their faces.

Sometime later, Guntiever, Sonic, and the others walk over to meet up with the others as they have the glaciers broken down to regular size and slice the extra ice to pieces.

"I think that's everything we need taken care of," Guntiever says.

"Yeah. Let's head back and see how the others are doing," Eve says.

The group of Freedom Fighters head off to the village to check on the others. Soon, they reach the village to see how Rotor and the others are doing.

"So how does the fishing go?" Sonic asks.

"It went okay. Turns out fishing isn't as bad as I thought it was," Sally says.

"But carrying the fish is tricky," Tails says.

Georgette smiles and says, "Now that the harvest is one and the glaciers are stable for our safety. We can celebrate our Harvest Gathering."

"The what?" Sonic asks.

"It's kind of like a little celebration. We have food, games, music, and all the Walrus gather together for a little fun to celebrate a good harvest. Walrus Island has a great harvest this year," Rotor says.

"So then, let's party!" Sonic cheers.

Sally says, "Hold on Sonic. As much as we like to have some fun, but we need to get back to New Mobotropolis."

"Remind me why?" Sonic asks.

"Because, Ever since the incident with A.D.A.M Nicole's defenses are still having trouble working properly. If Eggman attacks while we're gone, it will be bad for the city," Eve says.

"You're right. Eggface can attack us at any time. But, maybe we can stay for a song, and you're playing it," Sonic says.

"I suppose we can let Eve do one song," Sally says.

Eve asks, "You really don't mind?"

"We won't mind listening to one song," Rotor says.

Amy asks, "Can you sing for us? Please?"

Okay. I'll sing just one song," Eve says.

Eve clears her throat and begins to sing.

After they finish breaking the glaciers, the Arctic Freedom Fighters accompany Sonic, Eve, and the Freedom Fighters back to the X Tornado.

"Thanks for all the help. The Fish Harvest got done ahead of schedule and the glaciers are at stable sizes," Augustus says.

"It's no problem. We're glad to help you. Even if we're not handled with Dr. Eggman, it's good to help fellow Freedom Fighters when they need extra hands," Sally says.

"Yeah. We sure have an ice time with you guys," Sonic says.

The others groan with annoyed expressions on his faces from Sonic's little humor.

"What? It was very funny," Sonic replies.

"Sonic. That has to be the lamest joke I have ever… whoa!" Eve says, and suddenly falls to the ground.

That causes the others to come to a stop to see Eve has fallen down.

Sonic laughs, "Look like I slipped on some ice huh, sis?"

Eve sits up, "No. I didn't slip on ice. I… I think I tripped on something."

"Tripped on something?" Tails says, confused.

Eve sits up and turns around to notice something that is out of the ice. Something made of… metal? Eve crawls to the strange object and taps it with her knuckles. Eve then narrows her eyes to see the ice and notice that the metal is part of something bigger.

"I… I think there's something inside the ice," Eve says.

"Something in the ice?" Amy asks, walking to Eve.

Eve places her hand over her forehead so she can get a better view. Amy does the same.

"It's faint, but I think there's something inside the ice, but it's hard to make out," Eve says.

Sonic looks at the ice himself, "You're right. Let's go see what it is."

"Sonic, how exactly are we going to do that? The ice is very thick," Sally questions.

Tails then snaps his fingers with an idea, "We can use the X Tornado to help out. I'll turn on it's engine and use the hot air to slowly melt what's inside the ice."

"Great idea, Tails," Sonic says.

"Okay, but remember to be careful. Whatever is in the ice, it could be important," Sally says.

"Don't worry. I'll be careful," Tails says.

Not long, Tails is in the X Tornado and adjusts the ship so it will be close to where the strange metal is.

"Alright Tails, you're right on target," Eve says.

"Let's fire this up," Sonic says.

"Metaphorically," Sally replies.

"Got it," Tails says.

Tails turns on the X Tornado's engines and the hot air begins to fly out of the plane and hits to the spot where the metal is. Soon, the ice at the spot begins to melt.

"It's looking good so far," Sonic says.

"Now we need to wait and see what it is. I just hope it's not going to give us any trouble," Sally says.

"You worry too much Sal. Besides, what kind of trouble could this piece of metal cause?" Sonic questions.

"It's what attached to it is what worries me," Sally says.

"And for us, when we meet something metal, it's mostly one of Dr. Eggman's annoying robots," Eve says.

"Like Scratch and Grounder of the Super Special Hedgehog Search and Smash Squad? And it's a good thing those two dumb-boys are to stupid to stu," Sonic remarks.

Sonic, Eve, and Tails begin laughing with grins on their face.

Sally rolls her eyes, "Oh brother."

Sometime later, the ice has melted around the strange metal. In fact, as the ice melts, the strange metal is actually attached to something. The ice continues to clear to reveal a strange glass attached to the metal. Time has gone by and the strange metal is finally clear to be something a lot bigger. The object is actually a cylinder object that is taller than Rotor. It has two metal seals on the top and bottom. The rest of the container is made of strong glass that there isn't even a crack on it.

"Wow… this thing looks like a capsule of some kind," Eve says.

"It seems so. Although, it also seems to look like an escape pod," Sally says.

"I think it is an escape pod," Rotor says.

"An escape pod of what. That's the question," Flips says.

"Yes. Of all the times we come to this area and we never even notice it was there," Augustus says.

Guntiever shakes his head, "No. It's easy to miss if we're not looking for it. This place used to be covered with more ice than now and that was over fifty years ago during my grandfather's time."

"And it's only by luck that we were able to find it," Erma says.

"Yeah. Question is; what's it doing here of all places?" Eve asks.

Eve looks at the strange capsule very carefully. She suddenly notices something through the glass that is covered in the cold mist of the snow. Eve then rubs part of the glass with her hand to get a better view. Because of the ice and snow that's been on it for a long time, it's a little hard to clean them up to get a better view. However, Eve is able to notice a strange silhouette of blue and yellow inside.

"Guys… I think… I think there's something or someone in there," Eve says.

"Really?" Erma asks walking over, she looks through the unclear glass, but it's clear to notice something.

"You're right. Someone must be inside," Erma says.

"Maybe there's a button or something for us to open it," Tails says.

"You mean like this one," Amy points out, noticing a red button close to the top of the capsule.

"Good eye, Amy," Sonic says.

Amy smiles as she blushes, "Thanks Sonic."

Sonic then presses the button and a click is made on the capsule. The group moves back as the capsule opens, letting out a cold steam and air. Soon, the cold air and mist clears away allowing the group to get a close look at the capsule. They look inside and to their shock to what they're seeing.

They see a yellow color hedgehog with blond color wavy hair and bangs. She is wearing a dark blue top with short puffy sleeves, a light blue dress with a long sleeve, and next to her feet are white shoes.

"A hedgehog?" Sally says, confused.

"What's she doing in here?" Amy asks.

"I'm not sure," Tails says.

Eve then notices something, "Hey guys, do you notice something strange?"

"Like what?" Sally asks.

Eve takes out one of the white short heel shoes, "Look at these shoes. These are too small to be hers."

"You're right. It looks like the shoes are about the size of a human's foot," Amy says.

"And look at her clothes. Some parts of the clothes are either too small or too big and long for her," Erma says.

The rest of the Freedom Fighters notice it too. The clothes are either too big or small for her, and the shoes don't fit her either.

"You're right. What's all that about?" Flips replies.

"I don't know. But you know… those clothes look very familiar…" Eve says, but suddenly notices something.

Eve notices a dark stain on the dark blue top. A dark round stain close to the chest.

"Guys, look at the stop of the girl's chest. It looks like a kind of wound," Eve says.

Sally and the others notice it too.

"You're right. It looks to be some kind of bullet wound and the blood on the clothes looks very dry," Sally says.

"Yeah…" Eve says to herself.

Eve thinks. "This is weird. What's a blond hedgehog doing in the capsule wearing blue clothes and white shoes that don't even fit her. And she has a bullet wound. Now that I think about it, this capsule looks very familiar. This girl…. It felt like I've seen her… a long time ago."

Suddenly, the blonde girl hedgehog mumbles and turns her head a little. The young hedgehog begins to slowly open her eyes to reveal a blue color.

The girl mutters, "Sha-Sha-Shadow… E-E-Eve…"

Eve and the others turn their heads in shock to hear her talking. The one who is the most shocked is Eve. The voice, the eyes, the hair color and style, and the clothes.

The voice mutters, "Sh-Shadows… E-Eve...Gr-Grandfather…Pl-Please… be safe."

Eve's eyes wide open in shock and tears begin to fall from her face.

"Ma… Maria…?" Eve asks, stunned.

Eve places her hand on the blonde hedgehog's shoulder and gently moves her, "Maria? Maria? Maria?"

The blonde hedgehog moves her head and slowly opens her blue color eyes. The vision of the hedgehog is blurry, but begins to get a little clear. Soon, the hedgehog is able to see Eve's appearance.

"E-Eve… is… is that you?" The hedgehog asks.

Eve smiles and tears begin to fall, "Maria, it is you… and it's me Eve."

"Eve?" The blond hedgehog says, confused.

She then shows a gentle smile, "You… you look very pretty… and very grown up… I'm glad to…"

"See… you… again," The hedgehog says, and falls asleep.

Eve can't help but smile as tears fall from her face. She picks Maria up and looks at her face.

Eve softly smiles, "Maria."

Eve hugs Maria with a smile and her head is close to Maria's. Sonic and the others are surprised to see Eve hugging the hedgehog with a smile. They decide to let her be and have a moment. Of course, now they have a big mystery on their hands. The girl hedgehog turns out to be Eve's good friend from the ARK over 50 years ago, and supposed to have died. Now she is alive and now a hedgehog. They're going to have a hard time figuring this out. However, seeing Eve happy with Maira…. It will make it all worth it.
