Hello everybody to Legend of Hiro. This fic was a request from sketchywolf. It stars their OC, Hiro Kurosaki and how his presence might affect the timeline. In the Bleach universe there are two separate but equal fanfictions. The Ichigo MC's and the OC MC's. This is one of the latter.

I hope you all enjoy this request and comment as needed for corrections as this is self edited.

Hiro Kurosaki kicked his legs as he watched the river from his perch on the railing. Today had been peaceful, he had gotten his homework and managed to escape the house while Isshin was harassing Ichigo, his twin brother. Yes, today would be a good day. A roar in the distance alerted the raven-haired teen to something. It was coming his way.

Hiro got into one of his battle stances. He had been sparring with Ichigo almost daily since their mother died. It had been a way to move on and to get back at their father for all the times he would try to cheer them up. It was always therapeutic to release some tension on the old man.

The howling got louder, smoke drifting into the sky as car alarms started to blare.

"What the hell is that?" Hiro moved off of the railing and stared at the unadulterated damage caused by...something. A black hand grabbed the side of a building and what followed chilled Hiro to his core.

It appeared to be a cross between a gorilla, an elephant and a centaur. Thick, flat feet slammed into the ground, cratering the cement with every step. Hair covering its twin hind and front legs while an upper body that appeared closer to humans, was supported on the front of the base. Twin black, fur covered arms pounded the beasts chest as it howled into the night air.

Hiro made the most logical decision and ran, as fast and far away as possible. Another howl and the scared teen could feel the ground rumbling as the monster took chase of the boy. He was able to continue sprinting but knew the monster was hot on his heels and catching up.

'Hehehe' Hiro spun around and was almost flattened by the monster as it trampled on past where he was. He looked around for the voice but found nothing. It sounded like a woman snickering at him. He chose to ignore it in lieu of the massive beast that was staring him down like its next meal.

Smack! Hiro didn't see the swing coming but he was blasted into a wall, twisting in the air and hitting the wall with a sickening crack. and slid to the ground. Slumped against the wall he felt blood dripping down the back of his neck and pooling at his feet. He attempted to stand up but stumbled forward and forced himself to avoid slamming his face into the concrete of the sidewalk. This was the end? So soon? Che, he guessed this is what he gets for not helping his brother in his endeavors. A gleam formed out of the corner of his eyes at the cross around his wrist. It was their mothers. Isshin gave it to them and had them decide which of the two would keep it.

"Whoever takes it doesn't matter so I'll let you two work that out. Yuzu will have dinner ready in a few minutes so make it quick." Isshin could have his serious moments. They were more frequent following the death of his wife but not so much in recent years. He still had them though. Ichigo and Hiro shared a look and Ichigo closed Hiros fingers around the cross.

"Somehow I feel like you had already decided this." Ichigo nodded as he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck.

"Don't think this doesn't mean I won't kick your ass late but I do have Mom's hair. You deserve to have something too so I won't put up a fight. Who knows, maybe it'll bring you luck to have a piece of her with you." Ichigo shrugged and left. Hiro stared at the intricate designs that were carved into the cross. Wrapping it around his wrist he followed his brother out the door to their shared room and down, smiling as the sweet smell of Yuzu's cooking filled the air.

Hiro clenched his fist and he felt a warmth flow through him and he punched the hand that the monster threw at him. Blue light covered the entire area and the monster stumbled back. It's arm was gone and it vanished into the shadows. Hiro slumped again, exhausted. The hollow returned with a vengeance as it charged the source of its ire. It bellowed out a roar that shattered the surrounding glass with its footfalls cracking the pavement as it lumbered forward.

Lacking even the energy to lift his head, Hiro stared at the ground as it trembled and shook. Shards of glass littering the ground. He tried to push himself up, ignoring the pain as the shards cut into his hand. He filed in the end but he at least wanted to die standing. If he didn't he couldn't face Masaki. He failed to notice the thunderous footfalls stopping or the purple haired figure that loomed over him with a smirk.

"Well look what we got here? A boy in need of saving? Seems like your lucky day kid." Hiro couldn't hear her. The blood loss and injuries were overwhelming him and sounds deepened as if there was an ocean surrounding him and who was speaking. He slumped over and fell to his side as the darkness took him.

"This just won't do, Isshin would be so upset if I didn't save him. Now let's get you to Kisuke." She hefted him onto her shoulder as the figure Shunpo'd back to the Shoten. Tonight would be a long one, that was for sure.

"You said he showed some kind of special ability?" Yoruichi was sitting across for Kisuke as they both sipped on some of the best tea she had yet. Tessai was truly magnificent at his job.

"Yes, the hollow attacked him and he retaliated in kind, even while injured he managed to take out almost a quarter of the hollow." Kisuke made a mental note. Hiro was healing well, he didn't seem to have the hollow reiatsu that his brother contained deep within but his Quincy heritage seemed significantly stronger. That combined with the cross around his wrist made him suspect that the boy used a Quincy technique to hurt the hollow, unrefined but one nonetheless.

"It might be best if we let Isshin know what happened and advise Hiro to go meet the Ishida's they would know how to help him better than anyone else. Souken may be gone but Uryu was proficient from what I've seen and maybe they could entice Ryuken to help out in training as well." Yoruichi took another light sip of the cooling tea.

"When do you think Tessai will be done with him?"

"It may take some time, the wounds he gained were almost lethal, some would have been if he hadn't received the same ridiculous spiritual energy as his brother. If you hadn't saved him, he would have died."

"Goooooooooood Moooooooooooorning Ichiiiiiigooooooooo!" Hiro woke to the sounds of Isshin being mercilessly beat by his brother for the thousandth time. When will old goat-chin ever learn. He shook his head as a mirthful laughter left his lips.

"What a dream." Ichigo turned to look at him with a curious stare as if he had grown two heads. "What? Is there something on my face?"

"You didn't come home last night. Where were you?" The voice was stern but his eyes spoke of another reason than curiosity. Concern maybe?

"I was out by the river, reminiscing." Ichigo scoffed, not really buying it but not willing to pursue the line of questioning further.

"Whatever, if you don't want to tell me about all the girls you're hanging out with then I don't mind. Not like I'll judge, just make sure you don't stay out late again. Dad was asking questions I didn't have answers to." Ichigo barked out a deep chuckle. "He got so upset when I put him in a hold and wouldn't let go till Yuzu dragged the goat away."

Hiro couldn't help but chuckle and at the same time questions what exactly he saw, it all happened so fast it was a blur. He saw the monster and was hit and then...nothing. His head hurt, something was blurring the memories. Who knows, maybe it was god telling him to stop going out every night. Ichigo's words did have some truth to back them up. He resolved to find the area and find out what happened. No matter what he felt that things were going to be changing for him, better or worse was anyone's guess right now.
