Amity had stopped paying attention to the recap long ago.
Luz was in the middle of recapping the newest Azura book to her, and she got so wrapped up in her excitement of what she was describing that she was wildly gesturing and imitating the various spells and incantations, sound effects and all. Amity couldn't look away even if she tried.
She was more focused on Luz than what she was saying.
This little arrangement they had, this book club, had been a wonderful idea. Not only for the practical purposes, having someone to bond with over the Azura books, but also the actual person with whom she was bonding over these books with.
She still cant believe she was friends with Luz.
A human who somehow made her way to the Boiling Isles, lived with a criminal witch, and somehow learned to do spells all on her own. And she was friends with her, Amity Blight, after everything she said to her.
It's not like Amity wasn't unaware of how she acted around people, especially around Luz. She had a reputation to uphold! amity Blight had to be at the top of her class, in the best coven, crushing every opponent that stood in her way, and that meant the meek little human that snuck her way into Hexside with Willow. But Luz was different. Luz was determined to befriend her no matter what. And she won.
God, Luz was going to the same class as her. The thought alone terrified and excited her to no end.
It hadn't been easy coming to terms with her feelings for Luz. At first she deemed it a fleeting thing, something that she'd get over in a day or so.
But it wasn't.
Amity Blight had fallen hard for Luz Noceda. And who could blame her?
Luz as a whirlwind of passion and determination. She was smart, she was resourceful, she was funny, and had a way of immediately understanding what makes people tick, like she did with her.
Not to mention how beautiful she was.
God, Luz Noceda was beautiful.
Her brown skin, her cute face, and her eyes. Oh geez, her beautiful eyes. Eyes she found herself getting lost in on many occasions. Eyes she found herself she lost in right now.
Good thing Luz was too distracted on her recap to notice her getting distracted. She'd deal with her feelings another day.
Unbeknownst to Amity, the person who cast a spell on her heart felt exactly the same way about her.
They were both spellbound by each other.
But they'd both deal with that another day. Their friendship was enough for now.
