Chapter VI
I do not own Sailor Moon or any of it's characters, all that goes to their respected owners Naoko Takeuchi and Toei Animation. Please support any and all official releases.
I gave Ami the rundown on everything over the weekend, how we're all reincarnated warriors for a moon princess and are all named after planets. She took it about as well as you would expect someone would after learning about all that.
After I revived her I introduced her to Naru - I want to try and expand her social circle, I also want to help her find something she was good at besides studying, plus I figured it'd be fun for all of us to hang out, that poor girl looks like her only friend is school and that's not healthy - Naru, Ami and I agreed to get some ice cream, then spend the rest of the day down in Harajuku. We agreed to meet up at some shopping district.
I had to constantly remind Ami that this is not a sTudy meet up.
When we arrived, the place was absolutely crowded, more than normal I mean.
"Wow! I've never seen so many people before!" Ami squeaked out, in awe at the sheer crowd.
Naru giggled, "Ami-chan, you've never been to Harajuku?"
"N-no, I've read about it before, it's just that this is my first time actually being here," she said softly.
"Well then you need to stop reading about having fun, and just have it!" I teased fondly, linking her arm with mine, Naru following my lead and doing the same with the other arm. We dragged Ami towards the shops. We tried on sunglasses, hats and dresses, gazed longingly at expensive shoes and awed at adorable trinkets. The only thing we spent money on was food from one of the street vendors.
"I wonder what's going on over there?" Ami asked, looking over her ice cream.
I shrugged, "Probably a sale," I answered, not looking up from my ice cream.
Naru's face lit up, "Come on!" she said, throwing away her ice cream.
"B-but we don't even know what they're selling!" Ami protested.
I giggled, finishing my ice cream, "I'm pretty sure it won't kill us just to look."
The three of us squeezed our way through the crowded shop, only to find out that they soldd clocks, and it was the grand opening.
"Wow, I never knew clocks were so expensive." Ami mused
"It usually depends," I answered. "These ones however do not look like clocks that would be expensive." I eyed the clocks on the wall that were seventy percent off suspiciously. "I have a bad feeling about this," I finished unhappily
"Do you think it might be that dark kingdom you told me about?" Ami asked quietly.
"Most likely, I wouldn't trust any of these clocks so be on guard." I whispered back, I noticed Naru running up to us. She probably wanted to show us some clock in particular.
I returned home after my day of shopping to find out my dear sweet mother has bought me one of those clocks while out shopping with Naru's mother. I saw it resting on tissue paper, she also informed me that she got a clock for my little brother and father was hanging their clock right now.
"Arigato, Mama" I answered with a forced smile, I went into a kitchen and grabbed a screwdriver from the drawer and carried my 'gift' up to my room. "Luna," I called as softly as I could after closing the door.
"Hmm?" she answered, sitting up on my bed.
I sat down next to her and began working the screws out of the clock while I explained, "Okay, so there was this new clock shop over in Harajuku," I began. "It had a grand opening sale today and there wasn't any clockwork. All the clocks looked rather weird and they were dirt cheap." I opened the clock up and just as I expected, it was completely empty of any clock parts, just weird dark kingdom machinery, I showed it to Luna, "See?"
Luna raised an eyebrow, "I could take it to Ami-chan and have her analyze it," she offered.
"Oh really?" I asked,
"Yes, Sailor Mercury has always been the brains of the team, from what I remember in fact-" Luna began.
"Hey, I thought you had amnesia or something," I interrupted.
Luna gave me a glare. "It comes and goes, and I remember Mercury more now that she is back with us," Luna informed me with her dumb little nose in the air. "Now as I was saying, Sailor Mercury was always the smart one, and had a small portable super-computer. I was granted the ability to summon the items of the Senshi as they were needed, so it should be no problem to return Sailor Mercury's computer to Ami-chan, and she'll be able to use it to analyze whatever is in the clock."
I nodded, "Okay," I agreed, and moved to my wardrobe to grab a bag to strap to Luna's back so she could carry the clock over to Ami's. "Make sure you bring my bag back. I'll meet you and Ami out front of the clock shop in two hours, okay?"
Luna nodded, and headed out the window.
After she left I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote a note, folded it up, grabbed my staff and proceeded on my way.
It was late evening when we returned to the Harajuku shopping district.
"Please tell me you have a plan," Ami pleaded hopefully.
"That depends," I answered, and turned to Luna. "Apart from being the go-to for brains, what do you remember of Sailor Mercury?" I asked, crouching down to be at eye level with her.
"Mercury used the element of water for her techniques, which were in large part defensive in nature. I remember a move called the Shabon Spray, which would produce a thick, foggy cover for any and all attacks made by the other Senshi," Luna answered. "Apart from that, I generally made sure to stay away from the training areas whenever Mercury trained. I disliked getting my fur wet. It's a cat thing, you wouldn't understand."
I smiled and stood up. "Right," I said. "Since the shop just opened today, they won't be expecting us to attack until tomorrow at the earliest, most likely when the effects begin to be noticeable. So if we attack early, we have an advantage. We'll slip in quietly, and find the monster who'll no doubt be weak, since he hasn't collected any energy yet. If we get caught, you can create that Shabon Spritz or whatever it's called for some cover and I'll take it out while it's confused." I finished, pounding my fist into my palm for added effect.
Ami and Luna nodded in agreement.
I checked the street (deserted), the rooftops (just in case), and the alleyways, I called on the brooch that Luna gave to me with Ami (crying out "Mercury power! Make up!") following my lead, and we both carefully circled the building, looking for a way in.
Five minutes of searching lead to nothing, when I heard a whistle from up above - and the initial dread of being caught faded when I saw who it was.
"Tuxedo Kamen," I greeted softly, as he hopped down from his rooftop and gave me a bow and a tip of his hat.
"I have something for you," I said handing him a small piece of paper, "Think of it as a 'thank you' for saving me all those times," I said, fighting back the urge to roll my eyes.
"Thank you," he said putting it in his pocket, "Now Sailor Moon, I believe you and...?" he began, giving Ami a confused expression.
"Sailor Mercury," Ami replied.
"Sailor Mercury," Tuxedo Kamen agreed with a thankful nod, "I believe you and Sailor Mercury were looking for a way into this building?"
"Hai," I agreed. "There's a monster in there that needs to be stopped before it can really do some damage."
Tuxedo Kamen smirked, produced a rose from thin air, and threw it so hard that it nailed the latch of a high window. The rose somehow destroyed the lock (just what exactly is he putting in those things?), and the window silently swung open.
"Does that help?" he asked.
Both Ami and I beamed up at him. "Hai!" we answered at the same time. "Arigato!" we said as we made our way to the window he opened for us.
Tuxedo Kamen bowed politely to us, a smile on his face, and then leapt away.
Once inside we perched on the window ledge while Ami ran a scan of the shop on the portable super-computer.
"It's that giant clock isn't it?" I asked softly.
"Yes," Ami confirmed. "But the monster isn't coming up on my computer scans anywhere."
"Probably on his lunch break," I said. "I'll just destroy the clock, and he'll show up, I promise."
Ami swallowed nervously,"You seem way too calm about all this," she noted.
"You're kidding right?" I whispered-screamed back, "I'm going crazy! This whole fighting monsters thing terrifies me! Being smart enough to be sneaky about destroying them is the main reason I'm still alive," I looked down at Luna and added: "However long that lasts."
Luna closed her eyes and stuck her nose in the air, "It will take as long as it takes," she replied haughtily. "You are Sailor Moon. Finding the Princess and defending the world against these creatures is your duty."
"You're still haven't figured it out have you?" I asked as I removed my tiara.
"What haven't I figured out?" Luna asked, eyes opening in curiosity.
I threw my tiara and struck the upside-down clock. shattering it.
"What goes on in here!?" an angry voice demanded.
"Wow," Ami said quietly as she stared at the monster. I threw my tiara again dissolving it completely.
With him gone, the whole building faded out of existence, and we seemed to forget we were standing on the edge of a high window.
Luna, being a cat of course was the only one who landed on their feet.
Ami rubbed her lower back with a wince, as she landed on her bottom.
I landed on my hands and knees, (I've had more practice catching myself from my self defense classes).
"Well that's another monster dealt with," I said. "If they follow the pattern I've been noticing, we will have at least a week before we have to do this again."
"Sailor Moon," Luna said firmly. "What haven't I figured out?"
"Remember when we fought our first monster and I asked you for details, and you said the Senshi were princesses of their planets right?" I said.
Luna nodded.
"Hold up, I'm a princess?" Ami interrupted, then shot Luna a small glare. "You failed to notify me of that,"
Luna ducked her head sheepishly.
"Then that means 'Sailor Moon' isn't any different than 'Sailor Mercury' and so on and so forth regarding the others." I continued.
Luna's eyes bugged out of head, for a moment before she closed them shut and shook her head in denial. "Princess Serenity was not in any way a fighter."
"Lucky," I mumbled under my breath. "But I'm not gonna sit around and let a bunch of monsters destroy my home, especially if I can do something about it."
Luna frowned, "This bears thinking on" she said quietly.
I rolled my eyes and turned my attention to Ami. "You alright there?" I asked helping her up.
"Hai," Ami answered with a sweet smile. "I should probably get home now though. I have a lot of homework to do that didn't get done today because you and Naru-chan took me out here to shop."
"Oh you know you loved it," I giggled, teasing her lightly.
Ami blushed. "I did," she admitted with a little smile. "See you at school tomorrow?" she added.
"Hai," I nodded, "come on Luna. I'm tired and sleepy."
"Princess?" Ami asked in a hushed tone at lunch the next day.
"Heh, still stuck on that huh?" I giggled. "You know being a princess was a part of every little girl's dream." I countered happily, remembering the princess phase my little sister went through.
Ami nodded. "I do," she agreed, "but it was just that, a dream. This is a little more wild."
I snorted loudly, "Like having a super secret phrase that when said transforms you into a crime fighting super heroine with an outfit that supposedly hides our identity despite the fact it shows even more skin than needed for under aged girls and doesn't hide our faces at all, and fighting monsters who want to steal our energy, is nothing more than just a regular day at the office to you?" I pointed out.
Ami blushed. "It is," she conceded, "but... a princess just seems like overkill to me."
I smirked, "Oh? What's wrong Ami-chan? Don't tell me you're thinking about the ruggedly handsome general you were engaged to?" I teased.
"Eh?!" Ami yelped, her face beet red. "E-e-e-engaged?"
I giggled, "Well that's what the cat told me, the planets apparently all had daughters, no sons, except for Earth-and the Prince of Earth and the Princess of the Moon were in love. So, it makes sense to me that you would probably be with somebody of high-ranking as well, right?"
Ami continued to blush deeply, "I wasn't thinking of that," she answered softly, "but I am now and... I wonder what happened to all those people? If we were reincarnated, do you think maybe they were as well?"
I hummed. "Probably," I agreed, and a bad feeling rose in my stomach. One I didn't want to talk about so I dropped the subject all together. "Do you still have to do that cram school thing?" I asked.
"I do," Ami answered, allowing me to change the subject. "You're meeting with Chiba-san today?"
"Hai! I've got self-study at the end of the day, so I should be able to get most of my homework done then, but having Chiba-san go over it with me to make sure is always helpful," I answered happily.
Mamoru had serious expression on his face when I ran up to him at the school gates, and he didn't say anything when I greeted him, he just took my bag and started walking.
I followed in silence, confused, curious and slightly scared silence.
He didn't stop except for traffic until we reached the park and our bench there.
"Chiba-san?" I asked softly.
"Tsukino-chan... N-no. Usagi-chan," He said and reached into his pocket and pulled out the piece of paper I had given him the previous night. A piece of paper that read;
If you want to know about your black-outs, take me to the park tomorrow. I'll explain everything,
signed, Usagi.
"Will you tell me what happens during my black-outs onegai?" he asked a small look of concern on his face.
I chuckled, closed the distance between us, and wrapped my arms around him. "Sure I can, Chiba-san," I answered softly. "You may wanna sit down though," I warned him. "There are days were I still wish it was just a dream that I'll wake up from."
