"The Reflection in the Viridescent Mirror"
Chapter One: Dear Izuku
{}
It wasn't often Midoriya Izuku found a package meant for him at the dorms. Usually, if anything was delivered, it would be in a cardboard box and would be something sent by his mom. The parcel would be downstairs in the common room if someone else picked it up, or it would be outside on the concrete just outside the entryway. The stamps would reveal the address, and nothing would be amiss.
Usually, it would contain a care package and a loving note from his mom. He never had it in him to throw the notes away. They were gathered into a simply labeled folder: Mom.
Packages never were delivered in ornate lacquered wood. They were never delivered without stamps or an address. They certainly never appeared in his room overnight, waiting for him on his desk.
The box's sudden appearance raised hairs on the back of Izuku's neck. "What could this be?" he asked himself with a sense of foreboding. More importantly, he wondered who had gone into his room while he was asleep.
The box's exterior was elaborate. Eight purple silk bindings interwove with eight sashes of green silk. The box's artistry was similarly impressive. The box depicted an emblem of two crossed swords, each fabricated from inlaid gold trapped in the dark lacquer background. What could it mean?
"Deku?" there was a gentle knock on his door. It was his friend Ochako, who he still called Uraraka. "You're late for breakfast. Is everything ok in there?"
Glancing at the clock he realized that he was still in his room much later than usual. This delivery had thrown him completely off. He moved quickly to open the door, wondering just how to deal with this. "Hey, Uraraka? Maybe I just slept heavily, but did anyone come into my room last night?"
Her eyebrows shot up in alarm as her cheeks turned crimson. It wasn't the reaction Izuku expected. "Someone was in your room?!"
He gestured her inside and pointed to his desk. "I think so. I woke up and well… that was on my desk. I have no idea who brought it here or what it is."
His friends' eyes bugged out at the elaborate gift someone had left for him. "It… looks expensive, Deku… maybe… maybe we should ask Miss Yaoyorozu." She almost whispered the thought, mumbling other thoughts to herself in a way that had Izuku worried. He could swear that he overheard her say something about their classmate "making her move" and something about a war.
"Yeah, you know what? That's a good idea, Uraraka. I'll carry this down to the common room and see if anyone down there saw someone carry this in." he said, burying his worry that this was not as benign as a gift from a classmate.
The two teens walked together in awkward silence. Izuku couldn't quite tell what was wrong, but something about this had Uraraka acting out of sorts. Maybe this gift was from her and she didn't want to admit it? Why would she drop something off in his room then? Also, it wouldn't be like Uraraka to blow so much money on expensive packaging.
Their fellow classmates stared as Izuku and Ochako descended the stairs together. The whole class seemed off balance. The fact that the two were walking in together didn't bother anyone. That was normal. However, the obvious package Midoriya was holding out in front of him was outlandishly strange.
"The fuck?" a certain angry blonde muttered.
"Good morning everyone. Did anyone notice someone enter my room last night? I found this on my desk." Izuku asked his classmates and friends. Seeing blank looks from most of the class, Izuku prodded further. "Yaoyorozu? Todoroki? This packaging is expensive. Did either of you do this?"
"No," Shoto stated simply. He then resumed eating his breakfast, the only one in the room still doing so.
"Hmmm…" Momo considered, standing up to get a closer look at the box and the silk wrapped around it. "The attention to detail here is really impressive. I have no idea who did this though."
"It's exquisite," Aoyama declared, a bright twinkle in his eye. He gazed off in a seemingly random direction. "It's almost otherworldly in its beauty, almost as good looking as me!"
Everyone else ignored that outburst, leaving Aoyama hanging as he held a ridiculous pose for longer than even he was comfortable with.
"Come on, ladies. Someone had better fess up before he opens your gift in front of everyone!" Mina declared to the rest of the girls in their class.
"What if it's from a boy? Kero." Asui objected to Mina's assertion that it had to be from a girl in their class, even though deep down that is what she also suspected.
"This is so exciting! I love surprises!" their invisible friend Toru declared, practically jumping up and down in her seat.
"Who cares? Just open the fuckin box, Deku!" Katsuki demanded, wanting his day to get back on track and stop watching Deku get so much attention.
"But what if it's not from one of us? What if it's from a villain?!" Tenya loudly objected, making a nonsensical chopping motion in the air.
"If someone wanted to hurt Midoriya, and had the ability to sneak into his room, they wouldn't have left a box for him to find in his room like that. Kero." Asui asserted, which seemed reasonable to everyone else, including Izuku.
"Alright. Let's just get the mystery over with, then." Izuku declared as he set the box on the table. One by one he stripped the silk bindings off the box. The other students watched with rapt attention, some better hidden than others, wondering what was inside and who would send their classmate such an expensive-looking box.
Once the last binding was removed the box appeared to have no lid. Izuku was at a loss about how to open it. As he slid his fingers across the surface, he found no groove to suggest where a lid might be. "That's odd…" he muttered when suddenly he felt a biting sensation on one of his fingers. As he touched one of the golden-inlaid swords atop the box, it felt as if the small blade shot out to attack him.
"Ouch!" he recoiled his hand away, as the swords seemed to absorb his blood.
The class watched in awe as the swords lit up with green fire before burning away into ash. "Recipient Confirmed: Midoriya Izuku" A dual-toned voice announced from within the box, speaking both Japanese and a language no one there had ever heard before. Mechanical sounds emanated from somewhere deep inside. Finally, grooves appeared along the box's top before it opened like a flower, revealing the contents within.
Inside, the class saw a simple jade cube with elaborate carvings in a script none of them recognized. Alongside the ornate cube was a folded note. "There's a note!" Mina declared as though no one else had noticed.
Izuku's face turned beet red after he picked up the note and began to read. Silent up to this point, their classmates' shocked face had Kaminari's and Mineta's full attention. Surely, this was something lewd, right? Right?!
Sweating, Izuku turned again to his classmates. "Um… Uraraka… Yaoyorozu… Ashido… do any of you know anything about this? Because if you do… now is the time to speak up." He put forward his request with a lot less forcefulness and confidence than he would have liked.
The three girls looked at each other quizzically, each wondering what he could mean by singling them out and no one else. "Um… here, let me see the note, please." Ochako suggested.
Izuku passed it to her tentatively, acting as though he was afraid their hands might touch. Ochako let out a small yelp when she turned her eyes to the note she was holding. Mina made no pretense of modesty as she ran to look over Ochako's shoulder. Momo, also curious, stood and walked over. The three of them eventually found a comfortable way to share access to the piece of paper.
What they read was nothing short of strange to them.
{}
Dearest Izuku,
We hope this note and this gift finds you well. We fear that you are going to face a great number of challenges ahead and wanted to send you something to help prepare you. It'll be very difficult for us to explain things to you, certainly not by talking or by writing to you. We decided that the best thing to do would be to send you a memory stone. It works very simply. Concentration and skin contact are all you need. It won't work for anyone else, but we included a schematic that Mei should be able to use if you do decide to let anyone else view what's inside.
Please understand that these memories are of the most terrible and wonderful times of our lives together. We faced so much loss together, so many challenges, but through it all, we found each other. In other words, please be careful who you share this with since we do share intimacy with each other.
Love,
Mina, Momo, and Ochako
{}
"Love?!" Mina cried out.
"Intimacy?!" shouted Momo.
"All three of us?" Ochako was utterly confused. "All three of us?!" she was also enraged.
Mineta's nose was bleeding. "Intimacy?!" he shouted with glee, which was short-lived since he was suddenly poked hard by a certain pair of sharp ears.
"Can it, grape juice." Kyoka dripped the words venomously.
"Hold on… let me see that." Momo gently pried the paper out of Ochako's hands. Poring over it, she peered hard at the signatures and the calligraphy. "I… don't believe it… but… I wrote this! I didn't but… I wrote this!"
"What do you mean?" Shoto asked her, still uncertain what the fuss was about but able to piece together a vague picture in his head.
"This calligraphy matches my own. The brushwork is… there's no mistake. Whoever did this forged my writing style." Momo was shocked and appalled.
"Wait… wait…" Mina looked at the signature line. "They did mine too! That's how I write my name with a brush! Oh wow, my writing looks like shit next to yours!" she blurted out.
"But… but… All three of us… Deku… what is going on?!" Ochako was visibly distressed.
During all the commotion regarding the letter, the rest of the class barely noticed when Izuku moved to pick up the jade cube. However, they all took notice when his grip on the cube became possessive, as though he couldn't let go of it if he tried. His eyes glowed with green fire as his skin clung to the cube's surface.
"Deku!" several voices shouted at once. Several students tried to get his attention, but he was thoroughly and frighteningly absorbed, viewing vistas they had no access to and trapped by mechanisms they couldn't see.
It took Eijiro, Shoji, and Ojiro working together to pry the cube out of Midoriya's hand. Only then, once contact had been broken, Izuku collapsed onto the floor as a sweaty hyperventilating mess.
"Holy shit, dude, you got a strong grip!" Eijiro panted.
"Don't scare us like that you shitty Deku!" Bakugou yelled.
"Deku!" Ochako cried out as she leaned over him, her previous concerns long gone. "Deku, talk to us. Are you ok?"
Izuku's eyed darted from face to face, trying to remind himself of where he was and who he was. The contact had only been for a moment, but he had seen and witnessed far too much. "Guys…" he breathed the words out. "We have a big problem."
Iida was gone and back again in a flash, a glass of ice water in his hand. "Sit up and take in some cold water. Then tell us what happened."
Izuku sat up and took Iida's advice. After regaining his composure, he addressed his gathered friends. "Everyone… I think… No, I'm sure now… that cube isn't from our world."
"Uh… freaky." Kaminari added in the background. "Is he going to be ok?" he asked no one in particular.
"Deku, what do you mean?" Ochako asked.
He looked Uraraka in the eyes. His gaze was intense, far more than she was used to. "That… thing… it's from a parallel world. One just like ours… except things there are much worse than they are here. It's not just a gift… it's a warning, one that the three of you sent me…"
Cold sweat covered Izuku's face and hands. His eyes darted around the room in panic before he lunged for the cube, grabbing it up in a series of silk straps before slamming it awkwardly back into the box he first took it from.
"Deku, calm down!" Ochako cried out. "Slow down. Breathe. Talk to us…"
"Yeah, chill bro!" Eijiro placed his hands up placatingly. Mina nodded emphatically in agreement.
"I can't!" Izuku cried out. He had seen too much and too quickly. He couldn't piece it all together coherently, but he knew that this device had the collected memories and experiences of a collection of people, most of them familiar to him yet so alien… far more than any one person had a right to access.
It also contained all the secrets of One for All… no… it had information about All for One as well. But it was more, so much stranger and so much more frightening. "I have to go. I can't just sit on this and pretend everything is fine or normal… I…"
"Deku." Bakugou's voice was calm but stern. "Calm the fuck down. You said this thing is from another world. Is this other world a threat? Yes or no."
Izuku locked eyes with his former bully, his rival. "Yes."
Todoroki leaned forward. "Is it a parallel world… or a completely different one? Are we in it, or is it one completely alien to us? In other words, is it a different timeline of our world?"
Izuku was lost in thought for a moment before answering. Pondering how to answer helped calm him down, at least a little. "Both. It's a parallel timeline… and there's also an alien world that invaded them. That other world, the alien one… it could invade us."
Iida immediately stood to attention. "Midoriya. Sit down. I'll call our teachers over here. I assume you want me to contact All Might even though we're not scheduled to have a class with him today."
Izuku nodded. "Yes, please. And Iida… thank you." He sat down on the couch after Ochako and Mina guided him to it, as though he were lost. No one mentioned the fact that he had his hands wrapped around the lacquer box or that he was shaking like a leaf in the wind.
Iida stepped out of the room to use the phone elsewhere, leaving the rest of the class to wonder about this unexpected development. Momo finally asked a question that was burning in the back of her mind. "The people in this timeline… they were us? They were different versions of all of us? And the version of you in this other world… was in a relationship with… the women who wrote this letter together?" she couldn't bring herself to ask if she herself or even the others by name were intimate with Midoriya.
He nodded nervously. "I'm sorry, Yaoyorozu. I… yes, all of us were in the other world. We were different, but it was us… and… I'm so sorry!" tears flooded from his eyes. "The other me… was… is… yes, he's in a relationship with the other you… all three of you… I'm so sorry!"
"The harem king lives…" Mineta whispered. The utterance earned him an elbow in the ribs from his friend Kaminari accompanied by a silencing stare from several others.
"Deku… why are you apologizing?" Ochako asked nervously. She wanted to ask why he was crying.
"It was… so sad… and beautiful… and terrible. I was so awful to you all… and you stuck by me when I didn't deserve it. And I'm sorry for invading your privacy like that! I didn't mean to… I didn't know that the thing would pour so much into me so quickly!" he blurted out the confession.
"You're apologizing… because… you have memories of being intimate… of having sex… with all of us?" Mina asked, able to form words that neither Ochako nor Momo were brave enough to utter.
Izuku nodded frantically as he squeezed his eyes shut. "I know things about you… things I have no right to know! I'm so sorry."
Momo recoiled backward, feeling strangely violated by that confession. The idea that someone could remember sex with her that she had no memory of… it felt horrible and wrong. The look of anguish on Midoriya's face, though, gave her pause over her own discomfort. "It's… not your fault. And that wasn't us. It was… other people in a different world. So, if you need to be forgiven, then I forgive you."
Ochako reached out to take Izuku's hand in her own. "I forgive you too. Without question." She said as her face flushed with embarrassment.
Mina laughed a light chuckle. "Fuck forgiveness. No harm, no foul. But I want juicy details!" she then looked around to all the boys in their class… "Just not right this moment."
"Just those three, kero?" Asui asked.
Izuku couldn't look her in the eye. "I… the other me was in a relationship with them. But… there were others… I…" he breathed out a long calming breath, emptying his lungs.
"Other relationships?" Mina asked. Out of the three young women singled out by the letter, she seemed to be taking this in stride.
"Affairs," Izuku could barely whisper the word, his fists squeezing tightly into themselves. A deep sense of shame and revulsion overtook him.
"Forget all of that. There are more important things at stake here." Bakugou interrupted, his voice eerily calm. "These other versions of us… did they all survive the invasion?"
Izuku didn't answer. The room fell silent as they waited for their teachers to arrive.

A Note from the Author
{}
So what does the recorded message in the box contain? To put it simply: lots and lots of spoilers for My Green Sun Prince Academia. This is a Viewing/Watching Fic, but with consequences.
Welcome to my little side project, where canon characters will react to the nightmare fiction I've been crafting in my mainstay fic. Expect the characters to grow and change as they take in lessons from what they are watching. Relationships will be tested by what they witness, some coming out stronger than before. Some relationships will take form that wouldn't have before, taking inspiration or warning from what they've learned.
Most of all, the BNHA cast must prepare for threats they've never heard of before. Between that and budding romances, they still have to fight villains and do their homework, too. Next time, expect an intense discussion of just who gets to watch what and how they'll handle their classmates seeing older naughtier versions of each other!
