AN: Hey guys, do you know what time it is?

[confused muttering from the audience]

I said...Do you know what time it is?! [pause for effect] CHIBI TIME, BABY!

[audience applause]

Yeah, that's right. Welcome to the RWBY Chibi spin-off for Remnant of the Key. Now, let me just give everyone a fair warning: this is my first time intentionally writing an entire story like this one.

Ruby: Uh, what does that mean?

AN: It means that since I'm usually so focused on stories that are normally all business and seriousness, I've never actually tried to write an entire thing that's supposed to be mainly for the sake of comedy, or really any other way you can describe a RWBY Chibi story/series. I mean, I guess you could kinda say that the first Meeting in RWBY Meetings would count, but...well, you get the idea. Anyways, my point is, the first time I've done a story like this one, so keep that in mind when you write your reviews please? That's not me asking you all to go easy on me; I want everyone's honest opinion on how good or bad this turns out.

Sora: Hey come on. It can't be that bad. I'm sure everyone's going to love this.

AN: I really hope you're right, Sora. Anyways, let's get this started, gang!

I do not own anything from any of the Kingdom Hearts, RWBY, or RWBY Chibi franchises, or any other franchise mentioned in this story.

Chapter 1: Enter the Chibi-Verse

It begins

We open to an empty stage, with a blank, white backdrop, and all seems completely calm and quiet. For the first few milliseconds, because like clockwork, large, bold text drops down from the sky, along with a giant, pink rose emblem, and the minute everything has fallen into place, the chibi versions of Team RWBY pops out from behind the text and emblem to greet you, the viewers in their own respective fashions, all while people can be heard cheering from the background. "RWBY…"

Before the unseen crowd can finish their cheer, a loud bomb is suddenly heard from behind the title and the girls, startling them a little. Another one is followed soon after, and then another, and another, until the final one comes with much more force, blasting the rose emblem away along with the text that spells out "RWBY." The girls are all knocked off their feet by the shockwave with various screams and exclamations of surprise, and end up landing in a heap on top of one another in a complete dog-pile.

"Ugh, what just happened," asked Yang as she struggled to move, despite having Blake sitting on her head while Weiss and Ruby were on her back.

"You tell me," Blake told her once she had hopped off her partner.

From the new hole in the back of the wall, out steps none other than Team SLVR, and while most of the boys seem a bit more apologetic or sheepish, Lea merely grins his excited grin as he surveys the area around them.

"Sorry about that," Sora started to apologize, only to have his red haired teammate cut him off.

"But you ladies need to step aside! This is OUR show, baby! Got it memorized?"

The girls all huff in annoyance at the boys, with Weiss, Blake, and Yang glaring holes into each of them, but Ruby seems to quickly get over it as she catches sight of Sora. In an instant, she turns away, looking much more bashful now, with a red tint in her cheeks and a smile on her face as she nervously brushes her bangs while offering him a small wave of hello. Sora smiles as he waves back in his typical friendly manner, but otherwise seems oblivious to anything else that may be communicated in her change of behavior.

The rest of their friends, are having a much different exchange from their leaders. "Could you be any less professional about this? I mean really; there are better ways of telling people things than blowing them up," Weiss criticized.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Princess, did we offend you in some way. I just figured it would be obvious who the real stars would be in a comedy/chibi spin-off for Remnant of the Key," Lea snipped back with a scowl.

Weiss merely huffs as she crosses her arms, while Yang merely groans, "Ugh, I can't work like this."

"Cut! Cut! Cut, cut, CUT," the director calls out as he walks on stage, revealing himself to be none other than Mickey Mouse. "Hey come on, fellas. We have a show to do, and I'm pretty sure the viewers are already here and watching this unfold. How about we try and resolve this calmly and maturely?"

"I'm pretty sure that maturity doesn't exist in more than half of Team SLVR's vocabulary," Blake fires off.

"Hey, don't look at us! This wouldn't have happened, if you guys had paid attention to the notice in the studio break room about how this would start," Roxas shot back.

"Okay, alright! Alright; everyone just calm down," Mickey cut in before things could get more heated. "I think it's pretty clear this was just a matter of miscommunication. Nothing to get worked up about. Accidents happen all the time, ya know."

Ruby's bashfulness disappears upon hearing that, and is replaced by a nervous look as she asks, "Are…Are you sure it was just an accident? I mean, what if we're being sabotaged?"

"Oh, not this again," mumbled Yang.

"Aw, don't worry, Ruby. I'm sure everything's just fine," Mickey assured the girl. "Besides, who would be crazy enough to take on an entire school of huntsmen that also has some of the best Keyblade wielders in the worlds attending? I mean you'd have to be really powerful, really crazy, or just really stupid to think you could do that and get away with it."

Meanwhile, at a secret villain hideout…

Out of nowhere, Cinder and her cohorts all suddenly sneeze at the exact same time. Even Neo, but since the others' were so loud, it was almost like she made little more sound than she usually did. After exchanging confused looks with each of the others, Neo pulled out a sign that read, "That was weird."

Back with the heroes…

"Now then, let's try this again from the top, okay," Mickey requested.

"Uh…Okay," Roxas shrugged, while the girls all walked off the stage.

"We'll see you guys in class or wherever we go to do something funny later," Yang told the boys.

Ruby gave Sora another bashful wave as she said, "S-see you later, Sora."

"Later Ruby," Sora waved back in kind.

"Now then, can we get the new emblem up," Mickey called out through his megaphone.

After the other-worldly king made the request, a crane could be heard working, as a large version of the crown pendant on Sora's necklace was lowered into the spot where the rose had once been, followed by the word "SLVR" taking up position on top of the large text that said "Chibi". Nodding in satisfaction, Mickey raised his megaphone again, and said, "Annnnd cue Team SLVR!"

Just like the girls had earlier, the boys all sprung up from behind the title text, with Sora grinning widely as he leaned back against the crown with his arms crossed, Roxas and Ventus seated atop the text with the latter waving happily and the former just gave a small smile, and Lea taking up a position opposite of Sora as he tapped his head in the usual gesture he made when he shot off his catchphrase with (you guessed it) a large grin. This time when the crowd cheered, there were no interruptions, confirming what you've just been welcomed into.

"SLVR Chibi!"

Cooking Cause

Ruby was humming happily to herself as she slid a fresh tray of cookies into the oven, ready to bake them, when right after closing up the kitchen appliance, Weiss suddenly appeared behind her, seemingly from nowhere and asked, "What are you doing?"

Ruby could not help it even if she tried. The minute Weiss had spoken, she let out a frightened yelp. "AH! Stay away from the delicious friends, you kitchen fiend," Ruby screamed as she branded a spatula at Weiss like a sword.

"What? Ruby…" Weiss gasped, confused by this sudden behavior.

"No! There will be no repeats of what happened the last time you were in the kitchen while I was trying to bake something," Ruby insisted, stabbing at Weiss with her spatula. "Get back! Back! Back, Schnee!"

After being all but forced as far away from the kitchen oven as possible without leaving the room and taking in Ruby's first comment, things started clicking into place for Weiss. "Are you seriously still upset about that? I did warn you to not make that cake yourself instead of having your cake butler bring you one."

"Weiss, for the last time, you. Are. The only one. In our group. Who has. A cake butler," snapped Ruby. "Seriously, how is it possible that you've had so much training in so many things but are a complete disaster when left alone in the kitchen?"

"Excuse you?! I am not a disaster in the kitchen," Weiss heatedly insisted.

"I left you alone in the kitchen for five minutes with that cake, and when I came back, everything was on fire, while you were screaming 'Run away from the fire,'" Ruby deadpanned. She did not even wait for Weiss to reply to that before she carried on. "You know what? Doesn't matter, because nothing you can do is going to ruin this baking project of mine. I will have those homemade cookies that I spent half the day working on."

"You've been working on those things for how long?! Why would it take you that long to bake one batch of cookies," Weiss demanded, incredulously. She got her answer quickly enough when Ruby's face turned a little pink, even as she started to mumble some ridiculous nonsense about uncooperative spoons under her breath. "You're making these things for Sora, aren't you?"

"Uh, no. I'm making them for me to share with Sora. Because he's a good friend," Ruby insisted.

"And the fact that you would be able to get closer to your crush doesn't have anything to do with it?"

"What? HA! Don't…don't be silly. That's just…That's crazy, Weiss. You're crazy," Ruby tried to play off with the most obvious fake smile you can imagine. It barely took more than a few seconds for her to get back on the attack though, with a new gusto that made Weiss think that her partner had somehow found a way to turn the spatula into an actual weapon, as she rapidly stated, "But I'm not letting you get in the way of me proving to Sora that I can make an incredible, tasty treat, so goodbye to you, and farewell to the kitchen hazard that is thee!"

"Ruby Rose, I will not stand here and let you-AH," Weiss gasped as Ruby stabbed at her again with the spatula, and this time, it actually seemed to hurt as much as a knife, much to her confusion.

"Weiss, I will use my scythe to get you out of this kitchen, if I have to," Ruby growled in warning, and that was all that Weiss needed to hear to beat a hasty retreat. Once her partner was gone, Ruby let out a relieved, happy sigh as she turned back to the oven and said, "Phew! That was a close call." She then pulled a picture of Sora out of her pocket and sighed dreamily as she said, "It's all for you, my sweet."

Missing Jacket

Roxas was rifling through the closet of Team SLVR's dorm room, desperately looking for something, when Sora casually strolled in. "Yo, Roxas! We're about to go out and grab some ice cream. You want in?"

"Huh," Roxas gasped, having not heard Sora's question entirely. "Oh, sorry Sora. I'm a little busy at the moment."

That was surprising, and the last thing Sora ever expected to hear from his former Nobody. "Roxas, did you just turn down a trip to get ice cream," Sora asked in astonishment.

"I kinda have to this time," Roxas shrugged, though you could clearly see him trying to resist the urge to rush out and join his friend in retrieving the tasty, cold treats. "I've been looking for my jacket all day."

Sora glanced over his friend's appearance, taking note of the fact that Roxas was fully clad in his usual attire as always, jacket included, and said, "Uh, you mean the jacket you're wearing right now?"

"Not this one; my school jacket," Roxas clarified. "I can't seem to find it anywhere, and I don't want to ask Ozpin for a replacement because of my own carelessness."

"Oh," Sora nodded in better understanding now. "Well, where's the last place you left it?"

"Right here in the closest as always, but I've checked in here at least a dozen times, and I still can't find it," Roxas insisted. He then crossed his arms and said, "I'm beginning to think somebody stole it."

Sora just rolled his eyes. "Come on, Roxas. What kind of nut would break into somebody's room just to steal a jacket?"

Meanwhile, at a secret villain hideout…

"Mwahahaha! At last! The moment of my revenge is upon us," Roman maniacally laughed, sounding like a Saturday morning cartoon villain as he did. "Watch out Little Red and Spiky; Torchwick is coming for you both! Neo! Prepare to…" It was at this moment that Roman realized that his silent but faithful partner was nowhere to be seen. "Neo? Uh, Neo? Where are you," he called out. When he got no response he looked over to Mercury and Emerald and asked, "Hey, have you guys seen Neo?"

Mercury just shrugged with a grunt to say he had not, while Emerald replied, "I think she's off in her room or something."

"She has her own room? Since when does she have her own room? How did she even get her own room?"

"Don't ask us. We're still trying to figure out how she convinced Cinder to give it to her," Mercury admitted as he returned to the game he was playing on his Scroll.

Torchwick just waved the silver haired boy off, got the directions to Neo's room from Emerald, and marched off to find the silent girl. When he did, he kicked the door open and half-shouted, "Neo! We need to get ready to take revenge on Ruby and Sora! What're you doing in…Where did you get that jacket?"

Neo had frozen up a little when her boss suddenly barged in, for it was at that same moment that she was cuddling with a jacket that was typical of the ones all male Beacon students wore. Not just any jacket though; this was the same jacket that Roxas had been looking for at that very moment. She had no intention of letting Roman know that though, and quickly pulled out a sign that said, "Found it."

Roman was tempted to ask why Neo was cuddling with a boy's jacket like that, but then decided he was better off not knowing. "Whatever. Come on! We've got revenge schemes to plot!"

Neo simply shrugged in a whatever fashion, but once Torchwick was gone, a mischievous smile found its way onto her face before she opened a secret compartment that housed not one, but two shrines. One for Roxas, and the other for Xion. Placing the jacket on the shrine for Roxas, she looked to the viewers and winked as she pulled out another sign that read, "What? Like you guys weren't expecting something like this after my talk with Cutie on that train."

Cooking Cause Part 2

Ruby had now long since finished her baking, and was just waiting by the plate of cookies for the moment when Sora arrived. She had to make absolutely sure that no one besides her or Sora touched the delicious treats, otherwise everyone would swarm to have some, and that would lead to Nora gobbling up all of them, and then she would need to eat them all in an effort to save them from Nora, which would mean… Okay, maybe she was being a little dramatic, but you get the point. Ruby was determined to not let anyone but her and Sora have one of these cookies. The only problem was that it had been almost an hour since she had been expecting Sora to show up, and there was still no sign of him.

"Ugh, where is he? He shouldn't have any more classes today, and he always passes through here before getting his things together and going out to do his usual solo training," Ruby groaned, unintentionally showing a little evidence of how well she had memorized Sora's schedule.

Just then, Ventus walked in, and spotted both Ruby and her plate of cookies. "Hey Ruby. Made some cookies?"

"Yeah."

"Mind if I have one?"

"YES I DO MIND," Ruby snapped, scaring Ven a little. Realizing her slip up, Ruby quickly scrambled for an excuse. "Uh…I mean…Sora already called first dibs and asked me to make sure that no one else had one before he did. Because he asked me. To do that."

"Riiight," Ventus humored her, though it was obvious he was not buying it. Still, if she wanted to play it that way, he could deal with it. All it meant was that he was going to have to rain on her parade a little. "Well, you might be waiting a while. Sora's gonna be busy for…I don't know, the next day or so, give or take?"

"What? Why," Ruby asked, now very confused by this sudden change in Sora's schedule. Was there something she missed?

"He's a little busy giving cooking lessons," Ventus revealed. "Weiss just came over to us as we were heading out, and demanded that he teach her. Something about proving she wasn't a 'kitchen fiend' or something…I didn't really get that part since she was muttering it under her breath. I'm pretty sure the word 'dolt' found its way in there too, so I figured you probably knew something about that. Considering the progress that they had made when I last left them…Yeah, I think we can all say that it's a good thing that we know some water magic, otherwise, all the fire extinguishers in the school would probably be emptied out within the next few hours."

Ruby's eye started twitching violently, and her whole body soon began to shake with anger, until finally, she spun around on her heel, snatched the plate of cookies, and began angrily stuffing them in her mouth as she stomped away. "Even when she's not here, she messes up any plans I have in the kitchen," she grumbled through a mouthful or two. "Excuse me, Ven. I need to go and have a little chat with my partner."

Ventus was not sure what would entail from that chat, and he wisely decided that it would likely be best if he did not follow to find out. One could argue that the moral of this story is to not insult your friends so harshly, lest it comes back to bite you later, but judging by the screams of panic, rage, and pain that could be heard all across Beacon's campus later on, others would say that it was to not mess with a Rose woman and any plans she may have regarding baked goods. Especially when those plans are connected to a boy they have a crush on. It really depends on who you ask.

The Things Done to Preserve Innocence

A very cheerful Yang is just strolling through the courtyard when suddenly something rushes past her, leaving her spinning like a top in its wake. As it went though, Yang could have sworn that she heard Blake's voice talking to her at a rapid speed, but it was too fast for her to really make out what was being said. "Whoa…What was that," Yang questioned dizzily. Her questions only grew in number when Lea suddenly came rushing over, his chakrams ready and an angry look on his face. "Uh, Lea? Is everything…"

"Yang, Shush! Be very, very quiet. I'm hunting dirty kitties," Lea hushed her. He did not take his own advice though, considering his next sentence was yelled to the high heavens. "GET BACK HERE, BELLADONNA! TAKE YOU'RE BEATING LIKE A MAN! Or…woman…YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!"

Yang just watched the redhead hurry off in his pursuit, still confused on what was going on, and hoping that nothing else strange would happen in the next few seconds. She had enough of multiple weird things happening at once during initiation, thank you very much. Thankfully, the next person to approach her was moving at normal speeds and in a decidedly more pleasant mood. "Hey Yang. Have you seen Axel," Xion asked as she casually strolled up to the blonde, her usual smile on her face.

"Umm…You just missed him and Blake," Yang shrugged, still not one hundred percent sure if that was her partner that ran past her earlier.

"Oh boy. That's not what I was hoping to hear," Xion said worriedly.

"Why? What's going on? Please explain before I get any more confused," Yang pleaded, and from the way her eyes were flickering between their two colors, you could tell she was just on the edge.

"I'm not entirely sure myself," Xion shrugged. "All I know is that Axel got upset because of something to do with this one book I found that belongs to Blake. I mean, I don't get why it's such a big deal if there was a little bit of dirt on it. I could easily have just brushed it off or something."

"Wait, what," Yang asked, now even more confused and yet somehow, able to start putting pieces together. "Xion, what exactly happened?"

"Well, it started this morning when I found one of Blake's books. It was kinda just sitting there, so I didn't think there was anything wrong, but I guess Blake really wanted to finish reading it first, because she suddenly came rushing over and snatched it away. When I told Axel about it later, he seemed to get pretty mad and said that the book was dirty. I'm not sure how he knew that. I figured he meant that it had been on the ground for a while or something, but before I could ask him why that was such a big deal, he suddenly summoned his Keyblade, turned it into his chakrams, and ran off to talk with Blake."

Yang took a moment to process everything Xion had just said in her little story, and was now starting to make a little more sense of things. Still, she had to be absolutely sure before she said anything to the girl. "Xion, what exactly do you mean when you said Axel called the book dirty? Like, what were his exact words?"

"His exact words? Um…I think he said 'that book is filth' or something like that. I figured he meant filthy. I still don't see what the big deal is," Xion shrugged.

"And what was the title of this book," Yang questioned.

"I'm not sure. I didn't get a very good look at it. All I know is that it had something to do with ninjas," Xion replied as simply as you please. "Yang, do you know why Axel's so upset with Blake right now?"

Now it all made sense to Yang, but how was she supposed to explain that to Xion. She knew that despite how she looked on the outside, Xion was still a very innocent girl in many ways that almost rivaled Ruby. Plus, she remembered something that Lea had once said to them about compromising that innocence.

"If any of you even think of exposing Xion to that kind of thing, I'll burn you to ashes, and only leave just enough of you to cook over an open fire, understand?"

Clearly Blake had not taken him seriously enough, and Yang was not about to make the same mistake. "Don't worry about it. I'm sure they're just messing around. Come on. Let's go get some ice cream."

If you think that Xion was not going to fall for that, then you would have another thing coming, because she immediately perked up with a bright smile and said, "Okay, sure!"

Was it lousy of Yang to leave her partner to Lea's rage? Maybe, but after that game of tag they were playing the other day…well, this felt like a nice form of payback. She'd save Blake later. Depending on how long it took her and Xion to get through their ice cream.

AN: And that's a wrap. I really hope this turned out to be as funny as I was aiming for it to be, but I guess that's really just a matter of what you guys think now, isn't it? If you'll notice, I made it a point to mix and match things that reference events from both Remnant of the Key and the actual RWBY Chibi series. One of the best examples was the reference during "Cooking Cause" to the whole Cake Butler thing. Seriously, I'm a little surprised that they've only really brought it up in passing and never built on it a little further after the first time it was brought up. I mean, I know normally people would want to keep someone who messed up in the kitchen as badly as Weiss did away from any and all cooking, but I felt like it was necessary to bring it up again.

Roxas: Not to mention you also brought up that whole thing about Neo's new fascination with me and Xion. [shivers] I'm officially creeped out by that.

AN: Hey, it's not like I'm the first one to do something like that in a RWBY Chibi like spin-off for their story, and I've seen people using Neo for just that quite a few times now. There's was even this one time when I saw someone using Weiss in such a role.

Weiss: Oh please. Like I would ever do something like that.

Yang: Sure, Ice Queen. We believe you.

AN: Moving on. In case some people have a problem with me making Xion seem like a really innocent girl in spite of the fact that this all takes place after what happened in Kingdom Hearts canon (or at the Remnant of the Key version of it anyway), can I help it that she's been given that treatment almost just as often as certain other characters from both Kingdom Hearts and RWBY? Besides, why else would Lea want to chase down Blake like that? Because she stole his ice cream? That would be more of a Roxas thing.

Now then, I know this is usually the part where you expect some big send off that leads into me saying "Onto the Preview!" but this is a bit more like RWBY Meetings in the sense that I don't really know what's going to happen in the next chapter, so instead, I'll simple lead off the sign off by saying...

What wacky adventures will come next? Who can say for sure? After all, it's all just a bunch of fun and games when you go chibi, and there's no way to know for sure just what will entail along the way.

Please read and review, and I'll see you next time for some more Chibi fun!
