The war was over Zeref is died peacefully with Mavis, and everything was going back to normal as it should, right?

Well, that would be a no for one Natsu Dragneel.

Being Zerefs only living relative, the empire was left in his hands.

This revelation forced him to travel to the Alvarez empire to sort out his affairs regarding this situation.

This came as a shock to the guild.

This all started when one day, Natsu didn't show up to the guild.

And the day after and the day after that.

"Master, do you know where Natsu is?" Mira asked

He held glum look in his eyes, just as he was about to speak the guildhall door opened reveals the scarlet knight with a blue exceed on her shoulder.

"So, That's where you were Happy, you're always with Natsu, so assumed you were with him."

Closer inspection revealed both Erza and Happy had the same look as the master.

"Ok, what's going you three I'm getting scared."

"Master, it's been two months since the war ended, and a week since Natsu left, I think they have the right to know," Erza stated.

"Aye, sir," Happy said in a sad tone.

He let out a sigh, "everyone I have an important announcement regarding Natsu disappearance," he said in a booming voice.

Minutes later, he had the whole guild's attention, and beside him was Erza and Happy.

"The reason Natsu is gone is…..he is now the rightful ruler of the Alvarez Empire."

Silent was all that was left in the guild for a few short minutes before complete chaos ensued.

The one who led the charge was, of course, the resident devil slayer.

"ENOUGH!" The scarlet knight demanded.

"I can see the master and Happy, but why were you told Erza?" This time is was Gray to voice his thoughts.

"Hmm simple I was just in the room when Makarov learned of this"

"Please explain more," it was Wendy's turn to speak.

"Fine"

Flashback start

One week ago

Erza was on her way to Natsu, and Happy's house since Natsu accidentally left without taking his share of the reward from their last job.

His home was within view; she instantly noticed a carriage outside his home.

Peaking her Curiosity, she had to know what was going on.

Not wanting to start something, she knocked on the door three times.

She waited a few seconds before the door opened, revealing Natsu at the door.

He let her inside.

She was treated with the sight of not only Happy but Makarov and one of the spriggan twelve.

If she remembers correctly, his name is Jacob.

"Pardon me for asking this, but what's going on here?"

Natsu let out a deep sigh before telling her everything that he and Makarov just learned.

Needless to say, she was speechless at this.

After an unknown amount of time, she finally found the strength to voice her thoughts.

"What are you going to do, Natsu" regret was laced in her voice.

"I have to return to Alvarez and deal with the fallout on their side from this war, I have no idea how long I'll be gone. Erza promise me something."

"Can you watch after Happy while I'm gone?'' and when the times comes, tell the rest of the guild what is going on."

"Very well, Natsu, you have my word!"

"Thanks, Erza, that means a lot and Happy, be on your best behavior while I'm gone, ok buddy."

"Good now that everything, one more thing," Natsu Brought Erza into a hug, which she graciously returned.

"Well, everything thing from this end is taken care of Jacob."

"Good, we will be leaving first thing in the morning."

"Ok, then Erza mind staying with me tonight if it not too much."

Makarov and the others left Natsu, Erza, and Happy to themselves.

Flashback end

"That's everything, take a few days to process this before heading back to work."

While it's true, they care for at each other deeply than most as far as the guild is concerned.

Before they knew it, the sun was setting, so they called it a night.

The next day Natsu was scheduled to leave, but before he could set one foot out the door, Erza had one more thing to say.

"Natsu, I want you to promise me if there is anything That troubles you remember, I'll always be there for you. So don't hesitate to ask for help with anything, you got it!"

"Aye sir," he gave her one last hug before saying his farewells.

Erza looks to the clock, and it was nearing 10 P.M

"Looks like it's time to call it a night Happy you coming?" He immediately found he spot on her shoulder.

Natsu was hard at work in his brother's study, working out the kinks for the new systems he hopes will work with the empire.

If all goes well, he can return to Fiore with only having to travel to Alvarez every so often, to keep things in check.

He leaned back in his chair, stretching out his stiff muscles from being in a chair all day.

He looks to the clock seeing 7 P.M

"Looks like its time for food."

"If all goes well a month, at least."

"And if it doesn't?"

"Three at the most, mainly because I don't know if I can last that long."

With those words spoken, his dinner was placed before him, "thank you."

"Your welcome, Natsu," the waitress head back to the kitchen to get the rest of their meals.

The new system Natsu is hoping to put in place would establish him as a figurehead of sorts to the empire.

Meaning he would have very little input as far as the politics of the empire is concerned.

He still restrains the right to abolish any laws he dislikes and supreme military command if the need arises.

These privileges also pass down to any of his children and their descendants.

Other than that, he aims to make it as self-sufficient as possible.

But he has no idea how long this will take or if the people of Alvarez will accept these new changes.

After he finished his meal, he retired to his bedroom for the night.

The next day he got dressed to ate his meals before slaving away at his desk for several hours before breaking for lunch.

After that, he did some sparing with his shield member for a few hours.

After that was done, he headed straight back to his study for the remainder of the day.

"Well, next is a place to live, sorry, but you can't stay with me."

Natsu was dreading this part.

"You messed up big time, Natsu," he said with a sigh.

"I know."

"Do you have any idea the magnitude of your actions."

"No, but I'm not gonna abandon her if that's what you're asking me!"

"I'm not, and that's good; otherwise, I would start to think someone would replace our Natsu," both chuckle at this.

"To be honest, I'm kinda excited to be a dad. Of course, I wish the circumstances were better, but since when have things been easy for us fairy tail wizards?"

"Hit the nail on the head with that one Natsu."

They headed back inside only to hear dead silence between the two women.

"Ok you win we'll get you a proper bed, the only problem is how do I get the right one without anyone asking questions," he said in a thinking manner.

Natsu wasn't paying attention to notice Dimaria was also rooted in thought about this.

The two elders traded glances with knowing smiles.

"That's it!" He said

"What did you have in mind?"

This time he had a sheepish grin "there's only one person I trust to help without arousing suspicion, and that's Erza" he couldn't look her in the eyes.

To the outside world, her banged were covering her eyes as she contemplated Natsu's words.

"Are you sure about this?"

"Yes, I might get beat up in the process, but she is the only person I can trust for the Time Being."

Dimaria took a deep breath before "fine, where is she now?"

"She went to a play with Happy should be back later today or tomorrow."

With a sigh, "she can stay with me for tonight and only tonight. Am I clear you two," she said bitterly?

Natsu Dimaria traded glances before saying thank you.

"Natsu, since she staying with Porlyusica tonight. I'd take this opportunity to bring your house up to a standard for this beautiful young lady," he gestured to Dimaria, who had pink dust on her cheeks.

"Not a problem" with those words, he was gone in a flash.

"Thanks, both of you," was all Dimaria said with a yawn.

"The bed right over here," Porlyusica stated as she got her bed ready.

With another yawn, she laid down, falling asleep almost instantly.

The two elder traded glances once more before calling it a night.
