A/ N – I don't own Tales of Berseria and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I hope you enjoy this story.

Everything is pitching black... the last thing Velvet could remember is when she sacrificed herself to seal away Innominat. She could see nothing at all... nothing... she wonders if she gets a second chance, but she scoffs at the idea.

"That's ridiculous..." Velvet thought, "There's no way a monster can redeem itself..."

Suddenly, she suddenly feels a sudden pain in her chest and crotches down to put her hands on her chest as the pain was so sudden and questionable. What on earth just happened? Just before she could think of anything, the pain stops and a bright green light appears in the darkness where she looks up and hears a voice she knew right away.

"Velvet! Velvet!"

"La...Laphi?!"

Velvet quickly gets up and runs towards the light without any hesitation. Once she got into the light, she sees a mysterious, dark green-haired girl standing in the light, much to her confusion. But she didn't care as she suddenly feels something solid on her back, where her eyes start to open up and looks around her surroundings

She sees that it is the middle of the night and inside of a forest, where there are a lot of trees and the soil is dried, meaning there's no raining happening in awhile. She slowly gets up and looks down, noticing she's wearing her usual clothing and her bandages around her arm.

"So... I still have it..." Velvet thought negatively, until she hears a very familiar voice...

"Velvet!" Laphi, who is wearing his usual pyjamas before he become Innominant, cheered as he hugs his older sister, "Thank goodness! I was so worried about you!"

"... La... Laphi..." Velvet muttered as she gives a soft smile and hugs back, "I'm... I'm so happy... I... I can't believe... I'm so happy to see you normal again..."

"Same, Velvet," Laphi agrees as he looks at her as he bursts into tears, "I'm... I'm so sorry Velvet... if... if I had known what would happen to you, I would have not sacrificed myself in the first place! I am so, so sorry, Velvet!"

"It's okay, Laphi," Velvet forgave him as she embraces him tightly, "All it matters now is that we have each other..."

"... Thank you..." Laphi thanked her as the two siblings continue hugging until...

"RUN!"

Laphi and Velvet quickly stop hugging and gets up as they see three teenagers; two boys and a girl, running away from a group of ugly men. The duo look at each other and nod as they rush to the scene.

"Come back you bra-"

Suddenly, one of the men got a kick in the face by Velvet, causing the chase to stop all around the two groups.

"H-Hey! Who the hell are you?!" The pig-headed man answered threateningly.

"Someone who's going to end your life," Velvet replied as she takes out her wrist-blade and prepares her usual fighting stance.

"Now you're pissing me off!" The leader yelled at her, "Get her!"

Just before a bandit takes out his sword, he suddenly got shot in the head by an arrow. Which shocks the others as they turn around and sees the tanned-skin, green-eyed teenage boy with his bow and arrow on his hand, while the blonde-haired boy takes out his lance and the white-haired girl takes out her axe.

"Aww, you have forgotten about us?" The archer teased, "Well, we can't let someone else have the fun, can we?"

"Enough playing around, Claude," The girl told him off, "We need to help her!"

"I agreed," The blonde boy agreed as he rushes ahead to the battle.

"Attack! Attack! Attack!" The leader shouted as his men charges at them, "Kill them before the Knights of Seiros gets here!"

Velvet kicks the other one in the face and stabs his chest; the blonde boy impales the other bandit while the girl cuts off one of the men's arm.

"Gah! She-She cut me-"

The archer, named Claude, shoots an arrow at his neck and collapses. Claude smirks as he swirls his arrow.

"Headshot!" Claude said as he keeps his distance from the enemies.

The blonde boy slashes one of the men with his lance and just when another bandit was about to stab his back, Velvet rushes in and stab his chest.

"Gah!" The bandit screamed before he died.

"Ah, thank you, ma'am," The blonde thanked her as he turns around and has a better look at her face, which makes him blush a bit.

"No problem," Velvet told him, "Just be more careful and also, name's Velvet,"

"I-Of course!" The boy replied.

Laphi shoots out strong wind magic at one of the bandits and Velvet rushes in to roundhouse kick the last one in the face. The five looks at the leader, who is clearly shivering and bites his lips.

"Y-You know what?!" The leader shouted, "I'm getting out of-"

"Not so fast!"

"Oh crap!" The leader shouted as he runs away as fast as he could.

"Come back her-" The boy called out as he was going to give chase, but Velvet stops him. "Huh?"

"He's not worth your time," Velvet told him.

"But-"

"Are you five okay?!"

A muscular man with brown hair, brown eyes and a scarred face rushes in as he yells out and comes in with his set of men. Velvet stands guard in front of the children as she takes out her wrist blade and the man puts both of his hands defensively.

"Whoa there, kiddo," The man said, "I'm not a part of those goons. One of my men heard some screaming and I investigate the source."

"… How could I trust you?" Velvet asked in a hostile manner.

"Well, my name is-"

"Captain Jeralt?!" A voice called out in shock, "Is that you?"

"Oh, you gotta be kidding me!" The man named Jeralt complained.

Another group of men, but this time, they are wearing white armours and the one who is leading them has dark brown hair, blue eyes and a moustache. The man smiled at Jeralt as he shouts, "Well, I can't believe this! You're actually alive!"

"Hello… Alois…" Jeralt groaned mildly. "And all because I was investigating that noise… just great…"

"Oh! My apologies," Alois apologised to Velvet and Laphicet, "Ahem… Wait! You're a bandit! Aren't you?!"

"Ugh…" Velvet groaned at the misunderstanding as she's about to remove the bandages of her arm, until Laphicet quickly gets in front of her. "Laphi?"

"W-Wait! She's not a a bandit!" Laphicet defended her, "She's my sister!"

"That's right, Alois," The boy confirmed Laphicet's statement and defended Velvet, "In fact, she saved our lives. If it wasn't for her, we would not be alive at this moment."

"Yeah, we would have been bandits' snacks!" Claude joked.

"Are you seriously joking about our near deaths, Claude?" The girl groaned at Claude's joke.

"Hey! I can't help it, alright?" Claude said with a small smirk.

"I guess those kids happened to be students," Velvet thought, and says, "Well, it seems everything is fine now. So, I'll be heading off."

"Now hold your horses, missy!" Alois stopped her, "Where do you think you're going?"

"Anywhere," Velvet told him vaguely, "I'm a traveller, so I prefer not staying in one place."

"Wait! Sis!" Laphicet stopped her, and looks at Alois, "Ahem… can you tell us where we are? Since we're pretty lost and we don't have a map, so…"

"You're on the outskirts of Remire village," Jeralt told them. "That's also how I was able to locate you kids."

"And I'll be happy to be your guide!" Alois said happily, "But first, I'll have to take you to Garreg Mach Monastery."

"What's that?" Velvet asked bluntly, which everyone except Laphicet look at her with widen eyes as if she's crazy, "Why's everyone staring at me? Did I say something weird?"

"You… you honestly don't know what Garreg Mach is?" The girl asked in shock. "How… fascinating…"

"No, I don't." Velvet admitted.

"Oh, this is very interesting turn of events," Claude said jokingly.

"Ahem… Garreg Mach monastery is a location with two entities," The girl explained, "The church of Seiros and the Officer academy."

Velvet groans at the church part while Laphicet's eyes sparkles as he asks, "Did-Did you say academy?!"

"Yes, I did," The girl replied.

"Sis! Sis! Can we go?! Can we go?!" Laphicet begged his sister.

"I… ahem…" Velvet groaned and grits her teeth, but she takes a deep sigh and replied, "Fine… we'll go…"

While she has a strong disdain against authority figures due to her experience back in her world, it would be heartless to deny her little brother after being separated for so long. So, she just reluctantly goes along with it and Laphicet smiles at her answer.

"Thank you, sis." Laphicet smiled.

"… You welcome," Velvet replied with a soft smile.

"Wonderful!" Alois cheered, "Alrighty than, let's get ready to head out, than!"

"And going back home…" Jeralt groaned as he turns away, but his wrist is suddenly grab by Alois. "Damn it…"

"Oh no, you been missing for twenty years and there's no way I'm letting you go now after those years!" Alois told him.

"… Looks like I have no choice," Jeralt sighed.

"Welcome to my world," Velvet whispered in agreement.

"You don't know the half of it, kiddo," Jeralt replied.

Just as Jeralt reluctantly follows Alois and his men, Velvet and Laphicet is about to follow them until they were stop by Claude.

"Hold on there, how about a little chat while we walk, shall we?" Claude asked.

"Mmm… N-"

"Sure!" Laphicet interrupted his sister, who quietly glares at him, but sighs in defeat.

"Ugh… fine, ask away," Velvet said.

"Great! The name's Claude by the way," Claude said.

"And my name is Edelgard Von Hresvelg," The girl named Edelgard introduced herself, "I am the princess of the Adrestian Empire and it's next emperor."

"Woah! You're a princess?!" Laphicet gasped, "That's so cool!"

"Why… ahem, thank you," Edelgard blushed a bit.

"And my name is Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd," The boy introduced himself, "And I'm the prince of the holy kingdom of Faerghus. I would be very happy for you to lend your strength to the kingdom."

"Oh please, Dimitri," Edelgard said, "It's very clear that she will lend her strength to the Empire. And besides, you trust too easily, and you'll be a lacking king if you fail to notice the darkness behind every word."

"And you'll prove to be a lacking emperor if you could not trust your own companions and find every words to be deceitful." Dimitri called out.

"Ooooooh! He just called you out!" Laphicet laughed, which Velvet couldn't help, but laugh as well.

"Ha ha ha, well as the embodiment of distrust," Claude said, "I can't help, hear nothing but naivety,"

"Me? Naïve?!" Edelgard asked him harshly, "Tell me, are you actually incapable of keeping quiet or is your lack of self awareness a condition of some sort!?"

"He-Hey now! Let's be nice now!" Laphicet called out to break up the argument.

"Sorry about that," Dimitri apologised to him, "It happens sometimes. Come, we should head off and follow those two."

"Yeah. In the mean time," Claude agreed, "How about you tell us your names or do I just call you beautiful raven and little guy?"

"… Velvet. Velvet Crowe," Velvet told them.

"Ah-Ahem, Laphicet Crowe," Laphicet told them, "You can just call me Laphi for short."

"Got it," Claude smirked, "Oh yeah! And I'm the grandson of the Leicester Alliance's leader. Just to let you know."

"So, I just saved a bunch of big shots, huh?" Velvet thought while walking alongside her brother and the three nobles, "Why do I have a bad feeling about this…" She glances at her bandaged arm and thinks, "And check if I still have my Therion powers or not…"

A/N – I hope you guys enjoy this prologue and if you did, leave a review to let me know where I can improve on and such.

Some important notes; Byleth doesn't exist in this world, so Velvet ends up taking their place. Before you ask about Sothis, which you will see very soon enough.

Concerning Velvet's and Laphicet's powers, they still have them, just greatly weaken due to the fact Innominant having no presence in the world they're in since Innominant doesn't exist in Fodlan.

So, that's all I could say for now. Oh yeah, and I'm only doing the Blue lions route btw. Sorry Black eagles and Golden deer fans, but I think Velvet going for the blue lions makes for the most sense honestly for me, especially for the people who have played Azure Moon route.

Anyways, thank you for reading! See you guys in Chapter 1!
