Yes, sorry, I'm late again for this update (I've never been good with being on time :)), I hope you don't mind too much. So, here is the first day of the games, and how it goes for our heroes. Don't forget to leave a reivew if you liked it.

Chapter 15: First day

Today, the day would start with the opening ceremony of the Grand Magic Games, to greet the eight selected teams properly in the stadium. The ceremony was just about to start, all the teams were ready to make there grand entrance in the stadium, which was now full, compared to the night before, when there was mostly the participating guilds in the stadium and not so many spectators.

From where they were standing, the teams could here the commentators, Yajima and Chapati introducing the games.

"Welcome to the x787's edition of the Grand Magic Games!" Chapati started, being received by roars of applause and cheers from the crowd.

"So let's not wait anymore and introduce you to the eight guilds who achieved to qualify themselves for the Games this year." He continued

"The first guild we will introduce is the guild that made it eighth in the Sky Labyrinth eliminatory trial, they are a guild less than two year old, and they already achieve to participate in the Grand Magic Games. Their name is DRAGON FANG!" he introduced them

As they heard their names, the Dragon Fang team started making their entrance, cheered only by their guild mates.

"Even though this guild is new, their master is Natsu Dragneel, former Fairy Tail mage, and there are a few other Fairy Tail mages in their team, so it will be really interesting to see how they do against their former guild" Yajima commented as they entered.

"The seventh guild qualified is a new guild who settled near Magnolia, trying to compete with the current first guild in Fiore, TWILIGHT OGRE"

As he said so, the Twilight Ogre guild started entering the stadium.

"I heard they have some difficulty finding enough requests, as most people in the area would rather give requests to Fairy Tail, so a good rank in the games could really help them" Yajima commented

"Then comes QUATRO CERBERUS" Chapati continued

"It's their second participation in the games, last year they ended last, let's hope that they'll be able to do better this year" Yajima said

"The guild who achieved fifth in the Sky Labyrinth is the all-women guild of Mermaid Heel" Chapati introduced, and the Mermaid Heel mages entered being the first guild to be greeted by roars of applause by the stadium.

"Mermaid Heel is always really popular in the games, and a lot of men would do anything to be with all these women"

"Then comes blue Pegasus!" Chapati exclaimed, greeting the guild in the stadium

"They gained fourth place in the eliminatory trial, which is quite impressive. And, if a lot of men dream of being with Mermaid Heel, a lot of ladies would love to be with one of the Trimen of Blue Pegasus" Yajima announced

"The third guild to qualify itself is Lamia Scale!" Chapati greeted as said guild was making its entrance in the stadium

"With a Wizard Saint in their ranks, it is no wonder that they achieved to get qualified for the games, but it makes the two remaining guild's achievement even more impressive." The former fairy tail mage continued

"And now for the two last guild remaining, the one that achieved second in the Sky Labyrinth is the young but powerful guild of Sabertooth" Chapati announced, greeted by cheers in the whole stadium

"They ended second in the last games, we can assume they will really want their revenge on Fairy Tail this year" continued Yajima

"And as for the ones who ended first, there is not so much suspense, it is the guild that everybody knows, the one who already won two Grand Magic Games, I'm obviously talking of FAIRY TAIL!" at the name, all the stadium erupted in cheers and applause greeting the current best guild in Fiore.

Now, the eight teams were in the stadium, Dragon Fang's team, composed of Mirajane, Lisanna, Wendy, Sting and Rogue, Twilight Ogre's team, Quatro Cerberus's team in which were Rocker, Nobarly, Jäger, Warcry, Semmes and Bacchus who stood as substitute. Milliana, Risley, Beth, Arana and Kagura represented Mermaid Heel. The Trimen, as well as Ichya and Jenny stood for Blue Pegasus. Lamia Scale was there with Lyon, Chelia, Tobby, Yuka and especially Jura, a Wizard Saint. Sabertooth had assembled a team of very powerful mages, Yukino, Rufus, Minerva, Orga and Dobengal. And last but not least, Gajeel, Laxus, Lucy, Erza, Gray and Jubia were there to try and keep Fairy Tail's title as the best guild in Fiore.

"So now after leaving our guild, you're trying to compete with us!" Gray shouted to the Dragon Fang members, though they could see the disapproving gaze he was getting from Master Makarov and from Erza.

"We're not here to fight you specifically, we're here to prove our guild is worth taking into account" Mirajane answered before the both guild left to go back to their respective tribunes.

"Well, these guild will surely give us a great show during the five days of these games" Chapati said cheerfully, which was greeted by cheers from the crowd all around the stadium.

"So, now that the guild are back in their reserved places, we will start the first trial, each guild now should choose the mage who will represent them for the Hidden trial." Yajima announced.

A.N. I won't tell this precisely, I don't really feel like writing fights, and I am extremely bad at it, so I will just give you the final results of the trial

In the end, Rufus from Sabertooth ended first, followed by Lyon from Lamia Scale, Gray from Fairy Tail made it third, Beth from Mermaid Heel ended fourth, followed by Sting from Dragon Fang in fifth, Eve from Blue Pegasus in sixth, Twilight Ogre in seventh and Quatro Cerberus ended last.

It was now time for the battles.

The four battles today will be "Twilight Ogre VS Quatro Cerberus, Risley from Mermaid Heel VS Hibiki from Blue Pegasus, Minerva VS Jura and finally Gajeel VS Rogue." Chapatti announced, receiving cheers from the spectators.

Quatro Cerberus won the first battle easily. The second one ended in a draw at the end of the time. Minerva ended up by winning against Jura in the third battle but not without difficulties.

Rogue was getting ready for his battle against Gajeel.

"Rogue, I'm sure you can do it" Sting cheered for his friend

"Fro thinks so too" his exceed confirmed

"I'll do my best, but look what happened when you fought Natsu" he said but was surprised when Natsu came out of nowhere

"Just give it your best Rogue, Gajeel is a really strong opponent, we've got no luck fighting against Fairy Tail on the first day, but just do your best, even if you don't end up winning what's important is to give it all you have" Natsu told him

"Thank you master" Rogue answer

"No problem, now go and fight for our guild!" he cheered as Rogue walked into the stadium at the same time as Gajeel.

"Gajeel, I've been admiring you for a long time, but today, I will fight you with all I have!" he said firmly

"I wouldn't have it any other way" Gajeel answered smirking.

And so, the fight started. Even though at the beginning it seemed Rogue was at the same level as Gajeel, after a few minute, the Iron Dragon Slayer started overpowering the Shadow Dragon Slayer.

"I'm not done yet, Shadow Drive!" Rogue shouted

And, the battle was more balanced for a few minutes, though, after some time, Gajeel finally defeated Rogue, thus winning the battle and earning 10 points for Fairy Tail.

"Well, looks like you still need some training before you can beat me" Gajeel told him

Rogue didn't answer, as Frosch came to carry him to the infirmary.

As he arrived at the infirmary, he was greeted by Sting and Natsu.

"I'm sorry I couldn't win" he said to his master, looking down.

"Don't worry Rogue, you did great in this fight, Gajeel has more experience than you, you can't always win." Natsu reassured him.

"Yes, you did far better than I did when I fought Master" Sting continued to cheer him up.

A the end of the day, the scores were:

1st Sabertooth: 20

2nd Fairy Tail: 16

3rd Quatro Cerberus: 10

4th Mermaid Heel: 9

5th Lamia Scale: 8

6th Blue Pegasus: 7

7th Dragon Fang: 3

8th Twilight Ogre: 1

So, yeah, I'm really bad at writing actions scenes, I tried writing the Hidden trail, and it ended up being terrible, so I chose not to try and write them. If anyone of the readers want to write the battles and post them as a companion fic to this one, just tell me in a review or in a PM and I'll tell about your fic in the next chapter.
