These are the entries for our second contest in the 'Konosuba Fanworks' Discord server, which we held at the end of last month. We increased the word count limit to 2,000 words this time to give contestants more freedom to express their creativity. The prompt for this month's contest was "Chomusuke suddenly transforms into a cat girl". This time, the winning story is "Playtime for this Predatory Feline!" 「…Hey, Kazuma, I noticed just now, haven't you been giving Chomusuke too much attention recently? Any particular reason for that?」

We were lounging in the living room, when Darkness said such a thing in between her sips of tea.

「I don't need a reason to play with Chomusuke. I'm a cat-lover. Besides, look at her, she's been growing steadily all this while. Who knows what might happen in the future.」

Ever since we defeated Wolbach, this guy has been in her growth period.

With fantasy characters like elves and beastmen existing in this world, I'm certain that the future is bright for this fellow.

Darkness cast a suspicious gaze to me who was holding Chomusuke up in the air.

「…In the future? What are you talking about?」

「Come on, don't you get it? If animals gain enough magical power or experience, they'll eventually transform into beastmen. There's a fair chance Chomusuke might become a catgirl one day.」

「So that's why you've been giving manatites to her… I've never heard of that happening, though if it does, how would you go about that? If the police find out you're hiding a monster, they'll come knocking on your door.」

While saying those alarming words, Darkness kept a straight face.

「Hey, hang on, what do you mean by that? Why would pets have anything to do with police?」

「Beastmen aren't pets, Kazuma. They're extremely intelligent, cunning and aggressive monsters, and have been banned from setting foot in human towns.」

I immediately jumped up from the couch.

「That's just blatant racism towards beastmen! If they're intelligent enough to converse with humans, why not give them a chance?」

To my protest, she inquired my reasoning by raising an eyebrow.

「Maybe open a special part of town for them? Start a shop or a tavern? That'll allow them to integrate gradually into human society.」

「You sound ridiculous. Monsters and humans can't coexist, it's been like that for ages. If such a place existed, police would probably raid that establishment.」

「Can't you leave others to have their peace?」

With this meathead around, I can't imagine what kind of cruel fate awaits a certain shop if they were ever uncovered.

That'd be a national tragedy.

Just then, Aqua called from the kitchen,

「Darkness~, Kazuma~, can one of you come here? Megumin and I are preparing lunch, we need someone to take care of the cabbages~.」

Looks like they're having trouble preparing a salad or something.

「You heard her. They need brawn to pacify rebellious vegetables. Archers like me don't have the strength for that kinda stuff.」

I lazily waved Darkness off and turned my back.

「You seriously are… This is why your strength never increases. Try working out for once, maybe you wouldn't be dragged around by Aqua and Megumin then.」

「Both of them are anomalies, much like your brain-to-muscle ratio. Now go, I have the important task of taking care of Chomusuke.」

「Yeah, stay there and… Wait a minute, what did you一」

「Can you hurry up? We can't hold the basket cover down for much longer!」

What kind of cabbages are able to toss you around?

「A-Ah, right! I'll be there in a second! …We'll continue this later.」

When Darkness ran off to the kitchen, I sunk back into the couch to observe Chomusuke, who began to play with my hand.

「What's up with you, really? Every time you want to be spoiled, you come right to me, no matter where I am. Soon you'll start sleeping with me as well.」

Perhaps it's because I'm the only person around here who always plays and feeds her whenever we stumble across each other.

Megumin has always been strict with her, while Aqua keeps spouting nonsense such as 'keeping that malevolent being under control' and the like.

Chomusuke is probably shying away from them because of that.

「…Say, if I give you this expensive manatite, will you allow me to take care of you if you turn into a catgirl?」

Chomusuke looked up at the crystal I held, before grabbing it with her paws.

「Nyaa~~.」

「'Atta girl.」

During this tranquil moment of watching Chomusuke play, sounds of ruckus came from down the hallway.

「Kazuma, we need your help! Cabbages are out and about everywhere! Darkness is keeping them occupied, but一」

「I shall not cede my position! No matter how hard you attack, I won't yield to your assaults! So go ahead and hit harder~!」

「That's it, Darkness, keep them there! Let me get my staff and we'll have fried cabbages for lunch!」

「Kazuma, come quick!」

Seriously, how hard is it to prepare a simple lunch?

「Fine, I'm coming now! …It's alright, I'll be back soon. Don't do anything funny, okay?」

I rubbed Chomusuke's ears and left to fix whatever problem my useless party members were having.

And as I was about to close the door behind me,

「If only they were as easy to handle as Chomusuke… W-Whoa!?」

An intense light flashed in the living room.

Though not looking at the source, it blinded me temporarily and forced me onto the floor.

「W-What was that…? It was like the flash from Explosion… Hm?」

During the brief pause after rubbing my eyes, I surveyed the room and spotted smoke rising from behind the couch.

A small manatite crystal rolled from around the corner into view.

…That's the place where Chomusuke was playing.

Dashing back, I prepared myself to see the worst…!

「No… No way…」

The sight I saw froze me in place.

Lying on the floor was a pale girl with jet-black hair, no taller than Megumin.

Looking like she was dazed, she perked up with a pair of cat ears to lock gazes with me, revealing two golden feline eyes.

「…Ch-Chomusu…ke?」

「N-Nyaa…?」

There's no mistaking it.

What I'm looking at right now is a genuine catgirl.

「I-I'd never have thought I'd get to see one in person.」

Now I just need her to start calling me master…!

「…Myaster.」

「Eh?」

Did she just…?

「Hey, how about you repeat that? …No, actually, wait, aren't you naked!?」

The girl looked at me confusedly after my startling discovery.

She had enough hair coming over her shoulders to prevent full frontal nudity, however those heaps underneath aren't leaving much to imagination.

「P-Put some clothes on! H-Here, you can use my jacket, so…!」

I shoved my jersey towards her, but she kept staring at me with a tilted head.

In that moment, when my guard was down.

「Myaaaster~~ !」

「Wha一!?」

She pounced on me in a surprise attack.

I got knocked off my feet and landed ass-first on the floor, with her resting on my chest.

「Myaster awways gives Chyomyusuke wots of attyention… Chyomyusuke want to weturn favouw~ 」

「F-Face, your face is coming too close…!」

I remember this dangerous pattern! I must get outta here!

But I can't think straight with that cleavage pushing against me!

「L-L-L-Let's calm down now, no need to do anything rash! Actually, I can't play with you right now, I've got to help out my party members, so…!」

The moment I tried to leave, she clamped onto my waist with her thighs and restrained my wrists over my head.

「Myaster said… He will take cawe of Chyomyusuke… Chyomyusuke been feewing… Vewy hot latewy~ 」

She said in huffs, her cheeks flushing red.

Doesn't that mean一一

「You're in heat!? The reason you keep wanting to play is because you're in heat!? …G-Get off of me, you shortstack! Dammit, why are you so strong!?」

I can't move an inch!

Her hand drifted onto my chest…!

「Myaster~~~ 」

「Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!」

She just tore my shirt apart!

What's more, she's licking my ears!

Please spare me, aaaaah!

My shriek for help bellowed throughout the mansion…!

「That's it, Darkness! Grab 'em and don't let go! Use your iron claw if you have to!」

「My staff isn't just for casting magic! Prepare to suck on this hard一一」

「You guys!」

They can't hear me because they're playing with food!

I continued to struggle against my captor, who is…

「L-Listen, I know cats love to be scratched, but a crisis might spring up if you rub yourself against my bulge! …H-Hey, what was that moan just now? Your hair might be blocking my view, but I'm not imagining something leaking, right!?」

She just smirked at me!

That girl is doing this on purpose!

Then, she fixated on the result of her work with a hungry gaze and muttered,

「Myaster is vewy livewy down thewe… 」

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, I began to writhe for freedom!

「Is okay, don't be scared… Chyomyusuke will take cawe of Myaster~ 」

「Saying that in catspeak isn't helping at all一一一一!」

With a cliche ero phrase that didn't match the mood, she began to pull on my pants.

Ah, is this it?

This is how it happens?

「Chyomyusuke can't pull them off… Myaster is sticking hard to the undyerwear…」

My first time will be this awkward?

In this moment when my hope dwindled, as my last line of defense was being swayed,

「Nya?」

A manatite crystal rolling by caught her attention, making the clutch on my wrists ease.

「『Drain Touch』!」

「Nyaa一!?」

I immediately reached out with both of my hands!

Remembering only now that Drain Touch works best being used near the heart,

「I'll be squeezing your mana dry, so don't hold a grudge if your hair gets messy! Take, this!」

「Nyaaaaa~~~~~ !」

I gave it my all, grabbing onto with an unshakeable grip一一!

「一一Kazuma, where were you? Why didn't you help us… Kazuma, why are you all curled up like that? More importantly, what are you doing in your underwear in broad daylight!?」

Following my mortal encounter, Megumin was the first one to check up on me.

I crawled on all fours and hugged her knees, while she stared at me with a complicated expression.

「Megumin… Megumin! Listen to me! That cat of yours…!」

「C-Calm down and tell me what happened! …Wait, your face, have you been crying? And is that a nosebleed? D-Don't do that, you'll stain my…!」

Bawling into her robes, I pointed towards一一

「Chyomyu… Chomusuke! She is a predator, a predator!」

一一After a change of clothes and recalling the event through perpetual sobs,

「So you're telling me Chomusuke transformed into a catgirl, pinned you down to the ground and began to ride you with malicious intent? Also, what was that 'something precious' that almost got taken away from you?」

Megumin said unfazed, combing Chomusuke's fur.

「Nevermind my precious thing! Being labeled a lolicon I can tolerate, but living with the title of 'monstercon' I won't ever allow to happen! That thing is carnivorous!」

She paused to look at the peacefully snoozing Chomusuke.

「 …Kazuma, are you sick? Next thing you're going to tell me is that she can breathe fire and fly… Wait, something interesting was mentioned一」

「Don't write off my emotional instability as a sickness! That cat can definitely breathe fire, I saw it happen firsthand! You need to believe me一一!」

As I was dragged along the floor trying to convince Megumin to stay,

I decided that starting from tomorrow, I'd accompany Darkness on her daily strength training.

My cat who was actually an evil half of a goddess turned into a catgirl while she was sleeping on me, and now my party thinks I committed adultery?

I was lying on the couch after coming back from a supposedly simple subjugation quest.

Well, according to all known laws of the universe, nothing could be just simple for me.

We were supposed to take down a kobold tribe, but when we reached there, Megumin unleashed her Explosion early, the kobolds who survived attacked us and Darkness jumped into the middle of the hoard. Aqua tried to escape but failed, and started crying, we somehow managed to get away back without dying. Thankfully, there was no Rookie Killer this time.

I was currently lying on the couch after the others had already gone into their rooms. It was the middle of the night, and I was playing with Aqua's gamegirl colour.

Why can't I have better party members? Why must they always cause trouble for me?

I saw Chomusuke coming towards me, she then jumped on my chest and started sleeping there.

"Ahh, I wish my party members were like you too." I said while petting her, I gave her some of my extra mana with Drain Touch.

"You really are getting bigger, aren't you? Are you going to turn into a cute catgirl?"

She continued to sleep on my chest.

"...Wolbach." She perked her ears up at me saying that, and looked at me.

I suddenly felt exhausted and sleepy. My eyes were closing on their own.

Wait, I think I'm giving her too much mana…

I fell asleep on the couch after giving Chomusuke too much of my mana.

Part 2

I woke up to a situation straight out of a cliche Light Novel.

A girl was sleeping on my chest.

A catgirl was sleeping on my chest.

A naked catgirl was sleeping on my chest.

This is fine.

She had black hair and a petite physique, and looked a bit like Megumin, but a little shorter, she also had a black tail coming out of her waist and cat ears protruding from her head.

I tried to keep my eyes away from looking at her exposed parts, but I couldn't keep my eyes from floating towards them.

I'm a healthy male afterall, it is only na-

Wait, no! Think straight!

Where did this girl even come from? And why does she have cat ears? Where's Chomusuke…

Wait a second…

Please don't tell me I ogled a cat.

No! I have issues to think about!

This is bad, what if the others catch me like this? They are going to think I committed adultery and beat me up!

Think! Satou Kazuma, think!

"Hey Kazuma, why are you up this early, you usually wake up at noon, it's weird for you to wake up this early, did yo-wait, who's the person on you?" Megumin walked into the room, rubbing her eyes.

"Concealment."

This is getting worse and more cliche every second.

"Wait, where did you go?" Megumin rubbed her eyes harder.

'It must have been my imagination, Kazuma would never be up so early, and surely there wasn't a naked girl."

Yes!

She went to the kitchen, presumably to get breakfast.

I'm safe now.

Wait, I have learned from the past! I'm not a dense anime protagonist, she is probably waiting for me to come out. I should hide for longer.

"Ahh...Good morning, Kazuma-san." The cat girl in my arms said.

She looked around herself, and tried stretching a little bit, but failed since My arms were constraining her.

"Eh? What are you doing? Kazuma-san? Why am I like this? Did you touch me?!"

Hu-

I got sucker punched in the face.

"What?"

"Ah….sorry, I lost my temper a bit."

"No…I'm not a dense anime protagonist, I won't fall for excuses such as that…If a girl hits me, I'll hit them right back, what do you think of me?" I took a fighting stance against Chomusuke.

"Ahh, can we do this later? I'm a little tired."

Is she mocking me?

"No, no, you hit me for no reason, at least stand up to me." I stretched my hand towards her.

"Come here, don't run away."

"I'm not running away though, really, can't we do this another time? I enjoy the violence and all, but if I wanted that, I would go to Megumin."

So she really is Chomusuke…that means my wish came true.

"There's the Pedo-NEET! Catch him!" I heard Megumin's voice.

Wha-

Darkness suddenly jumped on to me, pinning me on the ground.

"Aqua! Check the girl! Has Kazuma done anything bad to her?" Darkness yelled.

Crap, they got me.

"Wait! Release me! Where did you come from?"

"I never thought Kazuma would cross the line like this….poor little girl." Aqua said.

"I didn't do anything! I swear! She just appeared here!"

"How would that happen? You must have finally crossed the line last night when we were asleep!"

This is getting worse by the second…

I tried using Drain Touch on Darkness, but she didn't even budge. Her stamina is too high for me to drain her.

I don't have access to my rope either, so I can't tie her up.

"Hey….no need to attack him, he didn't do anything bad to me, you can't just let me sleep, can you?" The cat girl got on the couch, curled up and closed her eyes.

Help me! Don't just sleep!

"What is wrong with her? She is thinking of her sleeping after Kazuma defiled her? Did you brainwash her?!" Darkness said.

"I didn't do anything to her! She's Chomusuke!"

"Don't say such ridiculous things, are you saying that Chomusuke turned into a girl?" Darkness said.

"Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying!"

"'Sacred Highness Heal'!" Aqua stretched her hands toward me and cast a healing spell.

"...Why did you do that?"

"It was to heal your brain, you have finally gone crazy."

"I swear, I'm not crazy!"

"Ah! It didn't fix him! Is he too far gone?" Aqua said.

That bitch...

"Wait...why does she have cat ears? And a tail? Did Kazuma make her wear these?" Megumin questioned, she pulled on them before realizing they were real.

"Now that you say that, I feel some sort of evil aura from her….it's suspiciously similar…" Aqua said while sniffing the air.

"Does that mean..." Darkness said.

Yes, you're getting it….

"Kazuma used a transformation spell on Chomusuke and defiled her?!" Megumin yelled out.

"That freak!"

No!

"Wait, I would never let him touch me!" Chomusuke finally spoke.

"Stay back, Kazuma has brainwashed you!"

"Wait, no, let me explain."

She ended up explaining the situation to my party, who were still suspicious, but they decided to go along with it for now.

Thanks for waiting that long.

Part 3

We were in a bath right now after Chomusuke had requested to take a bath after explaining the situation.

She had requested to bathe with me specifically for some reason, The girls seemed reluctant about it, saying stuff like 'That Pedo-NEET will take advantage of you' and other such ridiculous things, but eventually went along with it.

It's a little weird how little they questioned a cat girl.

She wore a towel, so I couldn't see the important bits, but it was still lewd.

I took a few glances, I was a healthy male afterall, I wouldn't let a situation like this go to waste.

Oh, also:

"Why did you ask to bathe with me specifically?" I asked.

"It is fun to bathe with you, we are bath buddies, right?"

"...So you really are Wolbach."

"Yes, I got this form thanks to your praise and mana supply, for now, I'm stuck in the body of a loli."

I knew my efforts would pay off!

But now that I think about it, I almost got beaten up for it.

But now I have a cute cat girl bathing with me. So it is a net positive, right?

"I don't know what you are thinking, but it doesn't seem to be anything decent."

"...You seem to be taking this very calmly, you didn't react in the slightest over getting transformed." I stated.

"Why would I be? This has happened countless times already, this is not the first time I have been transformed, I have been split, transformed, remerged a few times already."

"You could have made a comment on it, you know?"

"I knew I would see some violence if I didn't say anything, but I didn't want you to get too hurt."

"Thanks…?"

Wait, what does that mean?

I decided to ignore that and ask her a question that's been on my mind for a while:

"Hey, you mentioned something about how you would tell us why you joined the Demon King's army if we defeated you, do you plan on saying that now?"

She sighed.

"Guess I have no choice but to tell you, it was a long time ago…'Oi, all that work is exhausting, right?' 'Yeah.' 'You want to see violence, right?' 'Yeah.' 'Then join my army.' 'Sure.'"

Stare…

"...Really? Did you make us wait this much just for that pathetic excuse of a backstory? That's poor writing!"

"What? I was young at the time! I turned into a dark goddess because of that, and now I can't return to Heaven! Also, don't critique my backstory like it's a book! Why are you laughing? That's not funny!" She said, but I didn't stop laughing.

Can nothing cool happen here?

I expected something like her betraying the pantheon to save a loved one or something like that.

Did she really used to be such a carefree person? I thought she had more elegance to her.

"Stop laughing or I will punch your nose straight into your face." She said something unexpectedly scary.

Crap, I might have pissed her off.

"Sorry, I lost my temper, I'm the Goddess of violence after all."

"Yeah….you seemed kinder as Wolbach."

"Now that I fused back with my beast half, I have regained the domain of violence, so sorry if I punch you when I lose my temper or something...Well, I'm going to turn back soon anyways."

Huh?

"What do you mean?"

"The mana and attention you gave me isn't enough to sustain this form for long, so I'm going to turn back into a cat soon. Ah, I'm starting to turn back soon."

Wait, does that mean I lost my cat girl?

"Don't worry, the fact I have transformed once means it will be easier to transform later, so we will meet again soon."

That's good, at least I asked her everything I wanted to ask.

I heard a knock on the door.

"Kazuma, are you getting out? I want to talk to her." Megumin said.

Oh right, Megumin!

Crimson demons were smart, Megumin probably noticed the fact that the Cat girl was probably Wolbach, that's why she wanted to speak to her.

"Wait, but don't go, I'm pretty sure Megumin wants to ask you some questions!"

"Sorry, I can't keep this form for longer, she can ask those next time."

As she said, she shrunk down, and gradually transformed into a cat again.

No, wait!

I tried giving her more mana, it didn't seem to do anything.

Crap, she's gone.

I took Chomusuke into my arms, so she wouldn't drown in the water.

"Hey Kazuma! Why aren't you getting out of the bath, I'm coming in! I want to talk with Wolbach!" Megumin's voice came as the door opened.

"...What did you do to her?"

"She turned into a cat."

"You took her all for yourself! I wanted to ask some questions too!"

Megumin pounced on me for a while, I retaliated by draining all of her mana. Chomusuke just watched from the other side of the room, seeming to enjoy it.

You caused me much more trouble this time than when you were a Demon King's General.

A CATastrophical Debacle

It was an evening like no other for Kazuma's party. Kazuma laid lazily on the couch, feet curled in to save some space for the couch hog herself, Aqua. Darkness and Megumin sat at a table while they exchanged their usual love for the end of their last adventure.

"Did you see how I handled that huge spider?" Darkness blushed, then took a small sip out of her steel mug. "It wanted to curl me up in its webs, tying me into a cocoon, and then…"

"Not while I'm drinking," Megumin cringed, spitting a small bit of her drink out, "I've just lost my appetite!" She placed her mug down, stretched, and left the table.

She wandered up the stairs, doing a quick turn into her room and turned to face her coat rack. She placed her staff on to the rack just as an old man would place his cane and hat, she let out a profuse yawn and jumped into her messy bed. Her hat quickly leapt into the air like a Gary's Mod ragdoll, toppled down onto the side for lazy pickup the next day.

As she stretched herself out on the bed, however, she felt a little warmer than normal. The fur of her adorable kitten brushed up against her, as she slowly drove herself off into dreamland. As she dozed off, she felt a little more weighed, but it didn't bother her one bit.

"Until tomorrow, Chomusuke!"

The beams of morning peaked through her windows, which invited Megumin to rise from her slumber. But as she tried to lift upwards, she felt a tug. More than a tug. Whatever was on her weighed more than Darkness-'s armor! Darkness' armor! She pushed back, but to no avail the weight on her back wouldn't budge.

"What in the hell is on me?" The panicking loli thought, her eyes not wanting to open just yet.
"This is probably one of Darkness' strong-back exercises," As she attempted to lift upwards, a panicked "Nyaaaa!" caused her to fall back to her spot, heavier than the last time.

Megumin finally, after she struggled to do so before, opened her eyes. She turned around to see a red-haired woman clothed in a red keyhole cat outfit and matching undergarment to go with it. The tail bulged out of the back side like a torpedo. "Whatever's going on," Megumin slinked her eyes around, "This has nothing to do with last night." She gained a bit of strength to push back, she rolls out of her bed and picks her hat up.

She gazed at the voluptuous beauty in front of her, picked her hat off the ground, rose it upwards and spun it around. Taking her staff off its' rack, Chomusuke jumped down and followed her behind like a lion to its prey.

As she continued her walk downwards, she watched Chomusuke like a hawk, "Don't you try anything," Megumin growls. Chomu hissed back, only to prepare a large lunge. Megumin's staff rolled downwards, Chomusuke and Megumin in tow. The duo landed on top of one another. A dark red blush striking deep into Megumin's cheeks. The catgirl Chomusuke's breasts towered over her face.

"Just what in Eris' padded chest was that?!" Aqua yelped, peeked around the corner of the stairway with Kazuma and Darkness as witnesses.

"I can't imagine how amazing it feels to be crushed beneath-"
"Now's not the time, Darkness." Aqua interrupts her.

Aqua locked her eyes while the cat girl sat on Megumin's body. "There's no way this could be-" With a powered jolt towards Aqua, the buxom goddess panickedly runs away, while Darkness braced for impact.

CRASH!

With as much force as… whatever a busty anime girl weighs, Darkness fell to the floor, her armor exploded into tiny fragments. Kazuma looked onwards with an envious gaze behind the couch with Aqua. Megumin quickly tiptoed behind her cat, turned cat girl and slinked behind the couch, joining the NEET and Goddess in hiding.

"So are we taking her to Wiz?" Kazuma suggested
"That lich was probably the one responsible for her TURNING INTO the thing!" Aqua annoyingly whispered

"We'll give it a shot," Megumin replied. "I get your bias towards Wiz, but we need this fixed AND NOW."

"Just stay behind, Aqua." Kazuma requested, "We'll have her fixed in no time."

Kazuma and Megumin combat rolled from behind the couch, Darkness sat on the floor, face red as a plum, armor in tatters, and clothes ripped open to reveal almost everything.

"Create water!" Kazuma shouted, getting Chomusuke and Darkness all wet. While Darkness didn't mind it too much, Chomusuke jumped back in horror.

"Come 'ere, girl!" Megumin commanded. Tail swaying, Chomusuke walked to her master's side.

"Darkness-" Kazuma pointed, "Hang back here with Aqua."

Kazuma opened the door and Chomusuke quickly leapt out into the open, a frightened Megumin and an equally speedy Kazuma slamming the door in tow.

The trio strolled down the street of Axel, the eyes of city folk darted towards them. Kazuma's party often faced reception like this, but equal praise for their triumphant defeat of Demon King Generals and the Destroyer. Continuing through the marketing district, it wasn't long before they met their first forced stop.

"Kazuma, Kazuma!" Megumin screamed.

The splattered remains of kiwis, cabbage, and bananas littered the floor. This was a sight akin to something of a horror film. Chomusuke… was eating the remains of the gardener's children! Their peels dropped on the floor, stems broken off and the insides of the gardener's family ripped apart! Who or what would stop this monster?

"Create water!" Kazuma screamed, forcing the panicked Chomusuke, cat girl outfit now wet and see through, off of the shopping cart. But that created an even bigger horror! Now everyone could see the fruit murderer's… everything! Women covered their innocent children's eyes, men locked a wide-eyed gaze. If Darkness were here, this situation would sure be more awkward for everyone. Kazuma scrambled towards the nearest bazaar, a few eris coins in hand.

"Can I have a towel for our friend over there?" Kazuma begged the shopkeep. With no time to spare, the cloaked man immediately threw him their finest cloth. Kazuma immediately threw the towel towards everyone's favorite arch wizard.

She wrapped her friend up in the fine cloth, now everything remained cloaked better than Chris sneaking through Alderp's mansion.

"This is why you put your cat on a leash." Kazuma dickishly added.

"Oh, shut it!" Megumin grunted, "If you woke up with her next to you, you'd probably not be used to having your adorable friend turn into a-"
"Can we not argue about everything in public?" Kazuma snarled. Megumin put her hand around Chomusuke and continued forward.

"Just don't let her out of our sight next time." Kazuma scolded.

Kazuma and Megumin continued their humiliating stroll through Axel, Chomusuke being kept a close eye on as to not have another gardener's children eaten in front of their faces. Kazuma and Megumin turned to face each other, Megu's arm wrapped around Chomusuke tighter than the coins probably under your couch. They were walking through an alleyway to get to Wiz' shop to avoid any eyes. Chomusuke sniffed about, her eyes looking at a bit of yarn.

"I was really looking forward to questing today," Megumin frowned.
"I would've liked an excuse to practice explosion magic, too." Kazuma dickishly replied.

"Oh, whatever," Megumin growled, "It ain't my fault my wonderful kitty decided to turn into… well…" She looked down and continued walking. Her grip slowly lessened.

"If it makes you feel any better," Kazuma picks his voice up, "I'll get ya a crimson beer at the guild hall when we get back!"

Her eyes shot up higher than an American school, her smile brighter than a star.
"Thanks, Kazuma-san!" She cheered.

In their small argument, however, Megumin's grip lessened and Kazuma noticed a cat girl sized blank spot between them.

"Oh, for fuck's sake!" They shouted in unison.

"Alright, you go look for Chomusuke, and I'll go to Wiz' shop so I can explain the situation." Kazuma strategized.

"Of course I get the hard task…" Megumin grunted.

It was midday. At this point, Kazuma had been in Wiz' shop for a good hour and Megumin had been stuck looking for Chomusuke. The market area was packed with people, and no Chomusuke in sight.

"Have you seen the fruit murderer anywhere?" Megumin asked the gardener.

"No, and I don't want to see her!" He cleaned up the mess around his shop a small bit, ignoring Megumin's saddened gaze in the process.

She continued her search around Axel, only to realize something.

"She went missing in that dangerous alleyway…" Megumin's fear strengthened, and she ran through the Market district, running into the fruit shop owner's basket again.
"YOUR PARTY'S PAYING FOR THAT!" he yells.

Megumin bolted back to the alleyway, fear resonated in each step she took. Could Chomusuke have been taken by some goons? What about picked up by some thugs and… Oh no. Megumin's thoughts on if anyone committed that put a fear in her stomach.

Turning around the corner of broken glass and garbage cans she found her! Not only was she covered by the towel, now she's wrapped up in yarn! Jeez, and you thought magic club leaders were the only one to mess that up. Megumin walked towards the poor kitty, ready to free Chomusuke from her prison of yarn and finally get her fixed up.

Megumin's fingers laced through the yarn prison, letting loose once more her cat of hell. Chomusuke gleefully rubbed her nose against Megumin's, a large blush formed shortly after.

"We've gotta get you back to normal," Megumin's hands gestured towards the exit of the alleyway. "Follow me."

Kazuma sat back in Wiz' shop, while the buxom lich anxiously listened to the end of Kazuma's story.

"So you're saying that she just turned into a catgirl?!" Wiz whimpered

"Yeah, and she's very playful." Kazuma nonchalantly responded. "So unless you don't want to get glomped, get working on something."

Wiz got up and made haste to her backroom, sounds of herbs clanged into glasses and heat rising resonated from the backroom. Kazuma stretched his arms out and laid back facing the wall. Just as he closed his eyes, the door opened. The now nearly exposed Chomusuke and a weary Megumin crashed in. Megumin panted while Chomusuke prepared a small pounce over the counter, much to the already panicked lich.

"Sit, girl!" Kazuma threatened, "Or I'll use create water!"
"So what's going on?" Megumin said out-of-breath. "Are we getting closer to getting my Chomu back?"
"Yeah, Wiz is working on something. Still gonna get you that crimson beer once we're done." Kazuma reassures.

Megumin sat next to Kazuma, the shaking Chomusuke letting out an innocent, "Nyaaaa!" to everyone's relief. It seemed like, finally, Megumin was at ease. She busted her back the most, after all. A small bit of time passed by, and Wiz walked out wielding the potion. Only to catch the eye of Chomusuke. With a mighty leap, a loud crash shook the walls of the shop.

"Just.. pour this on Megumin's cat, and she should be fine." Wiz said with a smile. "I don't mind when she does this normally, but she's heavy!"

Megumin immediately poured the potion on her, much to the repulse of Chomusuke. Her efforts in resisting the watery substance were futile, however, as she went from her small form to a… She turned into a hairless sphynx! The only part of her body left intact were the wings and the mark on her head.

"Don't worry, she'll get her features back in no time." Wiz assured, "Just keep her home. Don't take her on any quests, keep her locked up."

Kazuma picked the hairless cat off Wiz and looked to the door.

"Here," Kazuma plucked a few Eris from his pocket, "You deserve this."

They walked out the door, this weird day seemingly over.

Chomusuke and I went to the dungeon where Chomusuke and Megumin fused because leftovers of Japanese tech.

I came here to use fusion chamber again, wanting to try what will be happen if Chomusuke placed inside.

"Ok Chomusuke, are you ready?"

"N-Nyaaa?"

"Don't worry, we already know how to undo the fusion. I just hope you turn into a cat girl or Wolbach."

I patted Chomusuke and put her inside a pillar tube. I touched button near the pillar tube, closing it.

"Nyaaaa?"

"Calm down Chomusuke, calm down."

Somehow my words actually calmed her

SHIIIIII-

"N-nyaaa?"

"Oh, it started… don't worry Chomusuke, that thing just fused you last time so I doubt it would kill you."

BAAAAAAAM

The light blinded my eyes for a second before I regained my vision.

Inside there was a girl with cat ears, wings, tail, red cross on her forehead, black hair and golden eyes.

She was Chomusuke in her catgirl version… BUT NAKED.

"WHAT THE HECK DID YOU SAY KAZUMA!? YOU SAW CHOMUSUKE NAKED AFTER TURNING HER INTO THIS!?"

"W-What's the matter, Mistress-nya?"

I was telling Megumin who was searching Chomusuke, she didn't found her because what I told her was really happening.

"What's the problem Megumin? It's not like I touched her lewdly."

"Really Kazuma-nya? I sensed you ogling me after I turned into this-nya… albeit this form is nice-nya."

"Kazuma… can you explain this!?"

"Scary!? Where the heck did your dark aura come from!?"

Megumin kept insisting me to tell her why I turned Chomusuke into catgirl.

I just rolled my eyes.

"That was just a fusion of Megumin and Chomusuke, although I know that the previous version looks alike but she look more like Wolbach now."

I saw Megumin looking at Chomusuke's chest and looking down to her own chest, it's at least C compared to her A almost B size. Ah, she is now sulking in the corner.

"Even my Chomusuke is even bigger than mine… what's this? An evil god interrupted my growth?"

"She's chuuni as ever even when she's sad."

"That's her clan trait-nya…"

Chomusuke put her head on my lap.

"Yeah yeah, but why are you using me as a lap pillow?"

"When I'm still a cat, you did this to me while giving me head pats and rubbing my fur… It's just my habit since your touch felt nice."

"Okay-okay, let me pat you now since rubbing you might anger Megumin."

I patted Chomusuke's head while her tail swung side by side and sometimes hit my face, it's not hurting though.

Aqua and Darkness who's back at home after their daily routine of disturbing axel civilians, especially Aqua disturbing the Eris Order, asked me with a worried face.

"That's Chomusuke-dess…"

"Are you still sulking Megumin? I heard when a boy massages a girl's chest, it might grow faster."

"Really Kazuma!? I want to try it!"

"WOAAAH!? TOO FAST!"

"I doubt it Megumin, he's probably thinking to touch yours."

"Well, I mean I don't mind… eh, no I mind it… eh…"

Well, Megumin is messed red today- wait that sounds so wrong, might call it blushing. Why are my thoughts today so messy. Also Aqua, I might punch you in the face later.

"Brace yourself and choose one already!?"

"… Eh, t-then no? I guess we can take time."

"Kazuma-san, I'm hungry. Don't just flirt with Megumin."

"Alright, but can you help me with Chomusuke? She's a little heavy as cat girl."

Suddenly Chomusuke wakes and gets up from my lap.

"Why wake up now? When Chomusuke was still a cat, you're lazy until we gave food."

"Because Kazuma-nya needed to cook in kitchen for dinner-nya, am I wrong-nya?"

"No, you're not wrong! Kazuma is indeed needed for kitchen work! I hate work myself, so as a goddess I let others cook for me!"

"Hai-hai, I don't need your goddess speech to make me cook… it's still my turn today right?"

"I will sleep on the sofa for time being-nya."

"That's my spot Chomusuke! Ah, I know! How about giving me a lap pillow…"

Before Aqua punched Chomusuke, Chomusuke was being held close by Megumin.

"She's still my cat! I don't want her to get hurt by my companion even when she's like this!"

"Megumin, you sound like a mother."

"W-what did you say, Darkness?"

"Yeah, totally a protective mother."

"W-what are you saying, Kazuma?"

"Hold her, Megumin! I will give this cat girl a punishment!"

Did Aqua not hear what Megumin said? I closed my eyes for a second, before I knew it Aqua was on the floor begging for forgiveness to an angered Megumin and frightened Chomusuke. What the hell just happened in this short amount of time? My best guess was Megumin punching Aqua mercilessly because Aqua succeeded hurting Chomusuke?

"S-scary-nya…"

"It's ok now Chomusuke."

"Nyaaa…"

Megumin sat on the sofa and Chomusuke on her lap, Megumin patted Chomusuke. It really looks like a cat and her owner but also child and mother.

Without wasting time, I headed to the kitchen. After around one hour, I went to the dining room with food plates on my hand.

"Can anyone help me bring other food from the kitchen?"

"I will help Kazuma."

"Thanks Darkness."

After preparing dinner, Aqua was done with her crying and sat with us, but on opposed side of Megumin and Chomusuke. Meanwhile, I was beside her. She was distancing herself from Megumin.

"Mistress, mistress, where's my fish portion-nya."

"Here Chomusuke, also you need to eat vegetable since turning into this."

"I don't want to."

"You must."

"Don't like it."

"YOU MUST!"

I was a little confused by this scene, Chomusuke sat on Megumin's lap and Megumin really acted as a mother to naughty kids. Chomusuke seems to have more mass than Megumin so why did Chomusuke sit on Megumin lap? Oh well, maybe because Megumin's strength stats.

"Itadakimasu."

Darkness and I ate silently because we appreciated the food, Aqua was silent the entire time too as she was still scared of Megumin.

After done eating, Aqua played the gamegirl console to make her mood better. Megumin was playing with Chomusuke's tail while she still ate, apparently she needs more fish than usual. Darkness was going to her room for… either her lust or sleep, I don't care. Me? I don't know what to do so I tuck myself in the kotatsu.

"Haaa, I wonder why I suddenly wanted to use that fusion chamber again? And my mind is also thinking weird things while using unusual words."

I tuck myself deeper into the kotatsu until I felt something on my arms.

"Huh, what is this? Crimsonian perfume?"

I think again, have I ever bought this or used it?

By the name of it, it's a crimson demon product and…

"Ah, maybe Vanir sold it off to my companion when one of them visited Wiz shop."

Reading the description on the perfume. It said: Crimsonian Perfume, Perfume that makes you think as smart as Crimson Demon also if you're a crimson demon and used it to your lover, he/she will become a crimson demon!

So I guess Megumin used it on me, although by the wording. It's used on a lover to turned him/her into a crimson demon, practically useless item. However, the effect really took place.

"Ah, that's why I suddenly wanted to use that fusion chamber again. I have courage of a crimson demon now. my speech felt weird because it was crimson demon product, the potion is a prototype maybe?"

After pondering for a few minutes, I felt it was alright. I need to lecture Megumin for using the perfume on me. It felt worthless and only affected my behavior, also might be because Megumin really wants me as lover?

Oh well, it was time I went to my bedroom. When I arrived, a cat girl laid on my bed. Looks lovely, but why is she here.

"Chomusuke, wake up."

"Hoam, what's the matter Kazuma-nya?"

"It's my bed."

"I know-nya."

"Why did you sleep here?"

"Habit-nya?"

"Really? Just a habit?"

Chomusuke pulled my sleeve and the result was me on the bed right now, Chomusuke laid on my chest.

Megumin without my consent breaks in my bedroom and looks at me for a while, now she's enraged.

"Calm down Megumin! Calm down! It's just her habit as a cat!"

"What's the fuss all about-nya? Oh, hi mistress. I guess mistress wants some alone time with Kazuma-nya."

Chomusuke's words made Megumin confused for a while, without delay she moves herself to the edge of bed and making enough room for me and Megumin to sleep together.

"What is mistress waiting for? I am distancing myself for mistress's sake."

"Eh, ah, okay."

Megumin still confused by Chomusuke's words, she laid beside me using my arms as pillow, while Chomusuke sandwiched from the other side… what the hell is this situation?

"So, what does Megumin want to talk about?"

"Will Chomusuke turn back to normal?"

"I don't know."

"I don't know either-nya."

This is awkward…

"I sense you must've felt it's a harem you wanted, Kazuma."

"No, it totally felt awkward…"

It was what I hoped would just be a lazy sunday. I had just recently dealt with yet another problem not associated with me and was just relaxing at home

At least that was my intention

"Oi get back here!"

Wandering through the halls I could hear Megumin yelling at someone from around the corner

I was quick to meet who she was yelling at

Some girl I didn't recognize came sprinting across the hallway stopping in front of me letting out a quiet...

"Nya"

Shortly after this girl stopped in front of me Megumin rounded the corner, saw me, and tried turning back around and leaving

"Oi stop right there! You have some explaining to do"

After letting out a heavy sigh Megumin headed over to me and the unknown catgirl

"So, who's the cat girl sitting in front of me"

"Okay so.. It's not that problematic"

"..."

"...I might have accidentally turned chomusuke into a cat girl and- hey don't look at me like. that it wasn't all my fault!"

"Explain"

"Well I went over to browse Wiz's shop since I was bored-"

Why do so many of my problems have to come from that shop?

"And they were advertising something that would let you talk to your pets..."

"So you bought it and used it on Chomusuke?"

Although the idea of a cat girl being part of our party doesn't sound bad on paper, I don't think I can handle any more trouble makers

Prompted by our conversation Chomusuke finally spoke up during all this

"Oh, so I guess she really can talk after all"

"Of course. My name is… actually I don't remember what my name was... but I guess I go by chomusuke now nya"

"Do you have to end every sentence with 'nya'"

"It just happens sometimes, can't help it nya"

...

"Welp, you two have fun. I'm going to the kitchen"

"Yeah sure, and thanks for not completely freaking out"

"Hey, I'm assuming you'll find a way to fix this. If not you'll definitely be losing explosion privileges for the foreseeable future"

"H-Hey you wouldn't go that far… right? Kazuma?"

"Welp good luck dealing with that"

And just like that Kazuma walked off

"He wouldn't do something as awful as that, right?"

"He might nya"

"Oh I don't need your input right now. You're supposed to be my familiar! Why must you be so misbehaved!"

"Ugh, well I better get to finding Aqua"

After a short trek around the mansion I find Aqua napping on the couch

"It's barely noon, how is she even tired? Whatever"

Waking her up I eventually briefly explain the situation to her

"So I need you to try to break the curse put onto Chomusuke"

"You don't have to do that yet nya. I like having a human form again"

"Sorry my familiar but I can't risk losing Explosion. Alright Aqua can you do your thing now."

Looking back up at her she seemed to be trying to do… something… but was failing at it

"What's wrong?"

"Well I can't put her back"

"What!?"

"Well whatever you put on her wasn't a curse, so I can't get rid of it"

"Ugh, guess I'll go see if Darkness has anything that could help with this"

Leaving Aqua to fall back asleep, seriously how is she even tired? I went back over to Darkness' room to find her reading some boring looking book

"Hey so Chomusuke turned into a cat girl and I was wondering if you would have anything to help with this?"

"Wait what happened to Chomusuke!?"

"Details aren't important right now. Do you have anything that would help turn her back into a cat?"

"What? No, why would I have something like that laying around"

"Alright well see ya"

"Wait what happened exactly!?"

Leaving Darkness to whatever she was reading I left continuing down the hallway

I needed to think, who could I go to for help?

Aqua and Darkness were useless. Kazuma wouldn't be any help either, and admitting defeat this early could be bad for me

Who could help me cure Chomusuke?

Actually now that I think about it…

Looking around Chomusuke was nowhere to be seen

Gah I lost her at some point!

Oh great now I have a another problem to worry about

Hopefully she hasn't run too far off into the mansion

Looking around I don't see any signs of Chomusuke, however…

The front door's wide open?!

Not only did I have to find some way to cure Chomusuke… I had to Find Chomusuke

Well no point in beating myself up over it, I'll just have to start looking… everywhere

But where would Chomusuke run off to?

Looking around town no one I asked had seen a cat girl running around

Checking the guild she wasn't there. However the receptionist did not appreciate me asking around about a cat girl, and asked me to leave

Entering the shop I'm greeted with that masked devil doing something behind the counter, as well as Wiz serving tea to Chomusuke

"Chomusuke! Why'd you go and run off again!"

After taking a long sip from her cup, Chomusuke spoke

"I always wanted to try Wiz's tea… Ahhh it's subarashii! nya"

"Oh right while I'm here, Wiz your product was faulty, as usual"

Looking like she'd heard this too many times, Wiz's showed a disheartened look

"I,heh, noticed…"

Saying this she gestured to Chomusuke

"So are there any cures for… this?"

Vanir after hearing my question left the counter and answered for Wiz in a very matter of fact fashion

"You bought a product that would let you talk to your pet for 24 hours, so it would be safe to assume that the effect would end after 24 hours, no? Do you even read the fine print of what you're buying?"

"Hey, I was just excited to finally have the chance to talk to my familiar!"

"Yes yes whatever you say. Now moi needs you to leave the store with your 'familiar'".

"Oi why do I have to leave so early?"

"Your presence is bad for business"

"Hmmn!"

Leaving that rude man and Wiz, I begin walking back to the mansion with Chomusuke

"Can you stay with me for now? I'm tired of you causing me trouble by running off!"

"Yes nya. I can do that"

"Well... is there anything else you want to do today?

"I've heard alot about your explosion magic. I wouldn't mind seeing a demonstration nya"

Ah right! How could I forget!

Somehow I forgot to show my fabulas Explosion magic to my familiar

Well before we go I guess I should go get him

"Kazuma I need you for my explosion routine"

Really this girl. It's only been a few hours and she's already given up?

"What? No idea on how to cure Chomusuke so you're using one final explosion before you lose it?"

"What? Of course not! I just wanted to show my mastery of Explosion magic to my familiar!"

"So you have a way to cure her then?"

"Well yes and no. There are no cures-"

"Oi!"

"But it'll only last for 24 hours"

"Oh. Well that's fine."

"Yes yes now can you stop wasting away in your room and come with us?"

"Ugh, yeah sure gimme a minute"

And so after a bit of prep, and a decent bit of walking we ended up at what had become the new usual explosion spot

"Prepare yourself my familiar. For I will be showing you the greatest and most powerful spell magic can offer!"

"Ou I am excited nya. Does master Kazuma know this most powerful magic?"

"Heh, no not yet"

"What do you mean yet? I don't think I'll be learning Explosion anytime soon. Maybe as a last ditch effort but I wouldn't get your hopes up."

"Don't be such a killjoy Kazuma! Alright, here I go!"

"Oh, blackness shrouded in light,Frenzied blaze clad in night, In the name of the crimson demons, let the collapse of thine origin manifest. Summon before me the root of thy power hidden within the lands of the kingdom of demise!

Explosion!"

And so a large explosion manifested in front of us leaving a large crater in its place.

After collapsing to the ground Megumin asked the usual

"How many points do you think that one was worth?"

"I'd say around 98 points, this was a solid explosion. I guess you're showing off for today huh"

"Of course. Only the best for my familiar"

"Hey hey that looked fun! I wanna try nya"

"Chomusuke explosion magic is something that takes a long time to learn. Since you just become human I don't think you'll be able to-"

"Darkness blacker than black and darker than dark, I beseech thee, combine with my mana. The time of awakening cometh, appearing now as intangible distortions! I desire for my torrent of power a destructive force:a destructive force without equal! Return all creation to cinders, and come from the abyss! Explosion!"

After a lengthier than usual chant Chomusuke let off her own explosion magic leaving behind a creator, collapsing afterwards

Megumin couldn't contain her excitement any longer squealing in joy at what she just witnessed

"My own familiar was able to use Explosion! I can't believe it! You shouldn't even be able to learn basic spells yet, let alone this beauty of a spell!"

"Heh, How many points do you think that one was worth?"

"I'd say 76 points. It had a clean shape but didn't leave quite the destructive power I've come to expect from explosion"

"Kazuma come on! If you were to learn explosion now this would be the best moment of my life!"

"That would be great and all, but how do you think we'd get home afterwards?"

"I.. uhhh…"

With the sudden realization of our situation her enthusiasm was brought back down

"Don't worry about it. If I ever do learn Explosion I'll make sure to use it the most spectacular way possible"

"That's great to hear Kazuma. Now before the moment is ruined may I ask why you're giving energy to me and not Chomusuke?"

"Well I was going to carry her home since she'd be lighter"

"Are you trying to say I'm heavier!?"

"Well by comparison I guess so?"

"Alright once I'm able to move again I'll make you regret saying that!"

"Oi I came out here willingly! If you're gonna be like that I'll just leave you both here!"

"Ok ok I'm sorry."

'Sigh'

In the end I gave the energy to Chomusuke and carried Megumin anyway

If you really want to be carried so badly just ask you tsundere

Returning the the mansion Aqua had finally woken up yet was just watching the fireplace

"Really? Have you just been sitting on the couch all day?"

"Can't say i'm much worse than you were NEET, so just leave me alone"

Realizing she kind of had an argument there I decided to leave her be.

I decided to fix up dinner since Megumin was preoccupied with caring to cat girl Chomusuke

They ended up spending the rest of the night playing games and talking about miscellaneous topics

At least that's what I saw them doing

The next morning, true to her word, Chomusuke was back in her cat form.

At Least this adventure didn't involve too much trouble for me

After everything he had experienced in this new world, Kazuma thought nothing would ever surprise him anymore. Nope. This world always finds a new way to surprise him with something unexpected. One example is the current situation being presented right in front of him. Megumin is playing with a little girl with blakc hair, except the little girl isn't actually human. It's pretty obvious judging by the girl's bat wings, yellow eyes, sharp teeth, and the red cross-shaped marking on her forehead. However, the little girl's most notable traits are her cat ears and tail. Who is this little girl? It's none other than Chomusuke.

Kazuma stares at the collar around Chomusuke. It's the reason why the cat is in that state. Earlier today, their party took a quest to explore and map out a new dungeon with any treasure or magical items they found being their reward. Fortunately for them, there weren't many dangerous threats in the new dungeon, making it easy for the party to explore it. There was indeed a treasure chest with gold at the end of the dungeon but no new items with the exception of a pet collar. Megumin chose to take the collar for her cat Chomusuke in case the familiar ever gets lost and needs to be returned. The group was surprised when they saw the cat transform into a humanoid after Megumin placed the collar on her when they returned to the mansion.

"Say Kazuma," Darkness spoke, snapping the adventurer back into reality. "What are we going to do about Chomusuke? This is the first time I've ever seen an ordinary animal transform into a person."

"I don't see nothing wrong honestly," Kazuma replies. "All we have to do is remove the collar if we want to return Chomusuke back to being a cat. So far, the collar hasn't been negatively affecting her. Besides, Megumin is enjoying having Chomusuke as a catgirl."

"Plus, Chomusuke looks cute as a little girl," Aqua adds, reaching over to pet the transformed cat. However, the cat girl narrows her eyes and bites the incoming hand, earning a cry of pain from the goddess. "Ow! The heck was that for?! Even as a little girl, this cat still doesn't like me! With those wings, she looks like a devil. In fact, I'm still sensing a malicious aura coming from her. Maybe a divine spanking will teach her some manners."

"You will not lay a hand on Chomusuke!" Megumin shouts, hugging the catgirl on instinct. "Even though she has a human body, Chomusuke still has the mind of a cat."

"Nyaaa," the catgirl meows, proving Megumin right. For some reason, the collar only changed Chomusuke's body but not her mind. Therefore, she's incapable of human speech. Kazuma couldn't understand why.

"Tch. Makes sense Megumin would raise a problematic child. Kazuma, act like a responsible parent and discipline your daughter!" Aqua demands.

"Oi, what the hell are you saying, you stupid goddess?!" Kazuma shouts back. "I'm not a father, and Megumin and I aren't even married."

"You and Megumin are dating, right? And Chomusuke belongs to Megumin. Since Chomusuke is now a little girl, she's basically Megumin's daughter and therefore your daughter as well," Aqua explains.

"That logic is a load of crap, and you know it," Kazuma says. "Back me up here, Darkness. Darkness?" However, the blonde crusader is with Chomusuke, holding out her hand in front of the catgirl.

"Come on, Chomusuke, bite me just like you did with Aqua. I want to feel how sharp your teeth are against my skin," Darkness eagerly tells the catgirl with an erotic look on her face. The catgirl tilts her head in confusion as she stares at the crusader.

"Darkness, don't you dare think about doing any inappropriate behavior in front of my Chomusuke," Megumin orders, pulling the little catgirl away from the blonde crusader. She's already taking up the mother role.

"On second thought, maybe we should take the collar off and return Chomusuke back to a cat," Kazuma spoke, not wanting any trouble this situation might bring. Of course, Megumin wouldn't have it.

"Come on, Kazuma! Chomusuke barely had time being human. Let her spend time as a little girl. Maybe she'll like it." Megumin pleads.

"I don't know…" Kazuma mutters, still unsure.

"Nya…" Chomusuke meows at Kazuma, giving him a sad look on her face. The adventurer's body stiffened as he suddenly found himself unable to look away. For some reason, he can feel guilt building up inside his body.

"Okay, okay, she can be human for a bit longer!" Kazuma tells Megumin. "Just get her to stop looking at me like that." Chomusuke smiles, satisfied that Kazuma will allow her to stay in her human form.

"Hmph. Too easy," Aqua huffs, giving Kazuma a look of disapproval. However, Kazuma whips his head at her after hearing the words.

"What's that supposed to mean?" the adventurer demands. Before the water goddess could provide a response, Megumin pulls Kazuma away as she makes her way to the mansion's front door.

"Come on, Kazuma. We gotta show Chomusuke the wonders of being a human," the arch-wizard says, bringing the aforementioned catgirl with them.

"Wait, why do I have to come with you two?" Kazuma asks, questioning the young arch-wizard.

"Chomusuke loves being in your presence just as she loves being in mine. I don't want her to be nervous when she's exploring Axel as a human," Megumin explains. "Besides, you know how some of the people are in this town."

"Wouldn't Chomusuke's… unusual features attract unwanted attention in the town?" Darkness asked, wondering if touring the newly transformed cat around a town of adventurers is such a good idea.

"Nope! I thought ahead on that. Since she's taking the appearance of a little girl, it's easy to dismiss any questions by stating she's a little girl who loves to play dress up," Megumin explains. Chomusuke nods, agreeing with the plan.

"If you say so," Kazuma sighs before turning to his two other teammates. "You guys gonna come along as well?"

"No doubt if I come along, that little devil is going to bite me again," Aqua states, narrowing her eyes at the catgirl. "I'll just stay here with my precious alcohol."

"I actually have to do something in a bit, but Aqua and I will meet you three at the guild," Darkness tells Kazuma.

"I guess it's just the three of us then," Kazuma says, turning his attention back to Megumin and Chomusuke. "Megumin, since this is your idea, lead the way."

"Fufufu, you leave this to me, Kazuma! Come on, Chomusuke. Let's start your first day as a human!" Megumin exclaims with pride. Chomusuke meows by her side. Kazuma sighs at the young girl's antics, but he couldn't help but smile. As the three are exiting the mansion, Aqua couldn't help but make the following remark.

"Have fun on your family outing!" the water goddesses calls out. Kazuma couldn't tell whether she was teasing them or being genuinely dumb, but the remark managed to both annoy and embarrass him. Megumin pulls down her hat to cover her now red colored face after hearing the remark, not wanting to show her embarrassment. Chomusuke, on the other hand, didn't know what was going on with the two party members, but it didn't matter to her anyway.

Throughout the day, the three spent their time having a pleasant walk in Axel, wanting Chomusuke to enjoy the sights and activities she previously couldn't as a cat. Though they couldn't help but overhear the comments made by passing bystanders, calling them "a cute couple" and saying how adorable they are with their "daughter". While the comments embarrassed the two party members, they managed to stay strong.

Spending the day with a catgirl Chomusuke proved to be a… unique experience. While Megumin did create reasons to tell people why Chomusuke as a human has cat ears, a cat tail, and bat wings, she didn't account for the catgirl's incapability of human speech. As a result, there were some people giving the three weird looks whenever the catgirl meowed instead of speaking human words. Kazuma had to explain how committed Chomusuke is whenever she "plays" dress up.

There were also some hectic incidents during their outing. When they brought Chomusuke to the park to play with other children, Kazuma had to stop her from biting and clawing the other children when they pulled her tail to see if it was real. Not only that, he also had to stop Megumin from picking a fight with the other parents when they said rude things about the catgirl. However, he joined the fight right after they insulted him and Megumin. They immediately had to run from the park when the guards were alerted.

Another incident, but on a lesser scale, was when Kazuma and Megumin argued over which flavor of ice cream to get for Chomusuke. Megumin wanted to get her chocolate, but Kazuma wasn't sure if chocolate was still harmful to a cat like Chomusuke even if she now has a human body. Therefore, he settled for vanilla since he figured it would be the safest flavor for her. Instead though, the catgirl chose strawberry.

Eventually, the three made their way towards the guild at sunset. Once there, they were able to locate Aqua and Darkness and joined them at their table.

"Hello Kazuma, hello Megumin, how was Chomusuke's human experience?" Darkness greets them.

"You guys didn't cause any trouble, did you?" Aqua questions, raising an eyebrow at the group of three.

"I'll admit there were a few hiccups, but things turned out alright," Kazuma answers, having enjoyed the outing.

"Indeed, we had a splendid day with Chomusuke without any problems at all," Megumin adds with a proud smile on her face.

"Nyaaa!" Chomusuke meows, having enjoyed the fun she had today.

"Good, then I guess the rumors I heard about a teenage couple with a daughter dressed up as a cat picking fights with other parents were just silly rumors after all," Darkness states, waving the words off. Kazuma and Megumin gulp, turning their heads away. However, Aqua wasn't going to quit.

"Hmph. I said it before, and I'll say it again. Megumin has been raising a problematic child, and Kazuma is too weak willed to discipline her!" the water goddess proclaims, which angered the adventurer.

"Oi! What the hell are you saying about me in public, you dumbass! Are you trying to ruin my reputation?!" Kazuma shouts as he starts to pull Aqua's cheeks apart.

"Kazuma, there is no need for such violent behavior! If you want to punish someone, punish me!" Darkness exclaims, standing up with a determined look on her face. As usual, the group's antics caught the attention of some of the other patrons.

"Megumin!" a young female voice calls out, belonging to the other Crimson Demon Yunyun. "As your rival, I've come here to challenge you yet again!"

"Oh, Yunyun, you're here?" Megumin asks quizzingly. "I guess I'll play along, but I'm choosing the challenge!"

"B-But" Yunyun stammers, but Megumin cuts her off.

"First one to have a catgirl daughter wins!" Megumin says before pulling Chomusuke towards her. "I win!"

"What?! Not only Megumin made up the rules for herself, but she also beat me as a woman?!" Yunyun shouts in disbelief before bawling into tears. As Megumin is distracted by her pride, Chomusuke sees a plate of fish and heads toward its direction. However, she accidentally bumps into Chris.

"Oops, sorry little- wait, what's that around your neck?" the silver haired thief attempts to apologize before her eyes focused on the collar. However, the catgirl ignored her and kept her focus on the fish. To Chris' shock, Chomusuke cooks the fish using her fire breath before eating it.

"You're not a normal little girl!" Chris yells out.

"She's a perfectly normal little girl!" Megumin shouts at her in response.

"Thank you for the purchase."

I waved as I left.

"See you around."

"Farewell, cautiously optimistic brat! Fuhahaha!"

Today, while I was visiting Wiz's shop, Vanir called out to me, saying he had a product I might be interested in.

According to what he said, it was a potion that improved intelligence… I think. Actually, he was a bit vague, which worries me.

But he did specify that it would work on a divine being.

Which means something I had always thought was impossible might actually happen today: Aqua attaining human-like intelligence.

The only worry I have is that I don't know Vanir's motivation… perhaps he's hoping that a smarter Aqua would cause fewer problems for him?

"I'm home!"

… there was no response. Seems like everyone's out right now.

"Nya?"

Well, except for the pets.

"Oh, hey Chomusuke. You wouldn't happen to know where Aqua went, would you?"

"Nya!"

"Figured."

Chomusuke and Zell were curled up on top of the kotatsu. The chick was fast asleep, but the cat seemed to have been woken up by the sound of the front door opening.

"Well, I suppose it can wait until she gets back."

There's still time left before dinner, so I think I'll go hang out at the Adventurer's Guild for a bit and see if there's any interesting rumors going around.

I placed the potion on a high shelf in the kitchen so the pets can't reach it, then headed back out.

"Later, Chomusuke!"

"Later, Chomusuke!"

The male human said something and left.

He usually gives me treats and pets me, but he didn't this time.

I stretched out my legs and stood up.

The fluffy yellow thing shifted, but didn't wake up.

Sniff sniff

Something smells good.

Up there, on that shelf.

I flapped my wings and flew up there.

It was a hard, clear thing with green in the middle. It doesn't look like food. But it smells good.

I tapped it with my paw. The green splashed around inside it.

Maybe the food is inside. I shoved it hard.

Crash

It fell off the shelf and made a loud noise when it hit the floor.

I looked down. The green was now all over the floor, and the good smell was a lot stronger.

Now I can eat it.

I flew down and started licking up the green.

It tasted really good.

After finishing that yummy green, I ended up dozing off on the kitchen floor.

Whatever that green was, it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside…

"I'm home! Ah, Yunyun, just set me down in the living room."

Ah, that voice. It's my master. I should return the greeting.

"Welcome home, nya~"

"… eh? Hey, Yunyun, did you hear that?"

"Yeah, it sounded like someone was in the kitchen!"

She sounds surprised. But it's not the first time I've greeted her.

I stretched out my legs… hm? They feel weird. Like they're a lot longer and heavier.

I tried standing up, but something was very wrong. My front legs were way shorter than my rear legs.

And my paws are different. In fact, they look like… hands.

"In here… eh!? There's a naked girl!? With cat ears!? Who are you!?"

Master came into the kitchen carried by the one with big breasts. For some reason, my master doesn't seem to recognize me. Maybe there is something wrong with me.

Who am I? I'm Wo… Wo…? I can't remember my name.

No, wait, that's not what Master calls me. She calls me…

"Chomusuke, nya~"

Master went quiet. I wonder if something is bothering her… hm? That's weird. I've never thought about things like that before.

"Eh, Megumin, wasn't Chomusuke… smaller? And, you know, a cat?"

"Of course Chomusuke's a cat! This is clearly some sort of scam!"

"You don't recognize me nya~?"

"And you, stop ending all your statements with 'nya!' It's not appealing at all, you know!"

"Eh, I think it's kind of cute–"

"Not now, Yunyun!"

I don't understand what they're talking about. Are they saying I'm not a cat?

I looked down at my body.

…

"I became a human nya~?"

"Oh, come on, that's blatantly obvious acting!"

"Wait, Megumin, look! There's something on the floor!"

The big breasted one pointed at the broken pieces of the clear thing on the floor. Some of them still had bits of green on them. I didn't lick it because the clear pieces were too sharp.

She picked a piece up and showed it to Master.

"What do you think, Megumin?"

"Hm… I think… it's some sort of potion."

"I could figure out that much! I meant what kind of potion do you think it was?"

"Hold on, are you suggesting that a potion turned Chomusuke into a red-haired, cat-eared little girl? You actually believe that this girl is my cat?"

"I mean, Chomusuke isn't anywhere else around here, is she?"

"… true, she's a lazy cat so it's not like her to off and vanish on her own. And she usually greets me when I come home…"

Master thinks I'm lazy? I feel like I should take offense, but that sounds like too much effort.

Maybe I should find some way to convince her. If I tell her something only I would know…

"Master, last night you were posing in front of the shiny clear thing while wearing–"

"Stop, stop! Okay, I believe you, so don't ever mention that again!"

"Megumin, what was she–"

Master glared at the big breasted girl.

"Yunyun, just put me down on the sofa now, then clean up the broken glass."

She then turned back to me.

"And you, come along."

Looks like Master believes me now.

"So, you drank a potion that Kazuma brought in, went to sleep, then became like this?"

"That sounds right, Master nya~"

Master was now sitting on the soft red thing. The other girl brought some of the fake skin humans wear and put it on me.

"Say, Megumin, what should we tell Kazuma?"

"Are you crazy? We can't tell him! Whatever that potion was, it must have been valuable!"

Is it bad that I drank that green?

"And also…"

Master looked at me with a strange expression.

"… I'm a bit worried about letting a cute, naive girl like this near Kazuma. So, we'll have to keep her hidden until she turns back."

"But we don't know anything about this potion! What if it's permanent?"

"We'll cross that bridge when we–"

Creak

The sound of the front door being opened came from the foyer.

"Shit, someone's here! Chomusuke, go to my bedroom and hide!"

Eh, why do I have to do that? It sounds like a pain.

I just tilted my head at her and curled my tail.

"You little… okay, if you hide, I'll get you a treat later, alright?"

"Right away, Master nya~"

I tried to make my way over to the stairs.

"… the hell are you doing, Chomusuke?"

"Walking with mismatched legs is hard, nya~"

"Just stand on two legs–"

"Hello? Megumin, is that you?"

It's the male human's voice.

"Crap, it's Kazuma! We're out of time, so change of plans. Yunyun, drag her over to the kotatsu and hide her, quickly!"

"Nya~!?"

The big breasted girl shoved me under the warm place I was sleeping on top of earlier. I started to complain, but it feels really nice underneath it, so I just curled up instead.

I came into the living room and saw Megumin slumped on the sofa, with Yunyun crouched next to the kotatsu for some reason.

"Oh, Yunyun is here too."

That's right, Yunyun took her out for her explosion today, didn't she?

I went over to Megumin and gave her a bit of mana with Drain Touch so she could move. She immediately went over to the kotatsu.

"Thanks."

"Say, have you two seen Aqua today?"

I really want to test the potion. If it actually works, I'll gladly shell out as much as I need to get more.

Megumin made a face like she had an epiphany.

"As a matter of fact, you just missed her. She said something about going to… the guild."

"Wait, seriously? I was just at the guild."

I wonder how I missed her. And why is Megumin facepalming and muttering to herself?

"Well, it's almost dinnertime, so I guess I'll wait here until she gets back."

I headed over to the kitchen to start on preparing dinner. If I can slip the potion into Aqua's serving… eh?

"Hey, where's my potion?"

I turned back to Megumin and Yunyun, who were wearing stiff expressions. That definitely seems suspicious.

"… I didn't want to mention it since you might get mad…"

Megumin started acting bashful. Does she think that'll actually get her out of this?

"… when Aqua stopped by earlier, she mistook it for a fancy new drink that's popular in the capital and drank it."

"… ah, that's actually perfect."

"Eh?" x2

And here I was worried my pricey purchase had gone to waste. Turns out things are going just as I wanted.

"I'll go ahead and get started on dinner, then."

Mmm… I like how warm this place is…

Sniff sniff

Something smells good.

I poked my head out of the warm place.

"Food, nya~?"

Master jumped, then rudely shoved my head back in.

"Nya~!?"

She whispered to me in a forceful tone.

"What did I say!? Stay! Hidden!"

"Hey, what was that?"

The male human's voice came from the kitchen.

"Uh, what do you mean?"

"It sounded like a sloppy impression of a neko girl."

"Neko? …Kazuma's saying strange things again. Well, anyway, that was just Yunyun practicing for a play audition."

"Eh!?"

"Oh, really? Good luck then."

I don't get it. Why am I the only one who has to hide?

"I'm bored nya~"

"Quiet!"

"I didn't realize Yunyun was such a talented actor. That sounded nothing like her."

"Ah, yeah, she's been practicing a lot."

Master poked her head in. She seemed stressed.

"Chomusuke, listen. If you behave yourself, I will give you something nice later. Like… a fish?"

"Two fish."

"Eh? Oh, fine, two fish."

I'm enjoying being able to talk with Master. I can get what I want easier.

Creak

"Hello, is anyone else here right now?"

It's the hard woman and the blue thing. I don't mind the hard woman, but the blue thing has an irritating aura so I usually don't like it getting near me.

"Oh, Aqua, Darkness! You're finally back! Just in time, dinner is ready!"

"That's great! I really worked up an appetite today!"

"… I'm afraid to ask what you've been up to. Oh, Aqua, after dinner, can you play me in chess real quick?"

"Chess? I don't know what brought this on, but just to warn you, I'm at my full power today!"

I could hear everyone heading to the eating room. I want to go too so I can get scraps.

"Nya~"

Master caught me and shoved me back in.

"Remember, Chomusuke. Two fish."

"Three fish."

"Wha– this damn greedy cat."

"What the hell is this!? You haven't gotten any smarter at all! If anything, you played even worse than usual!"

"Why are you angry? I'm the one that lost!"

The male human and the blue thing were arguing about something.

"… that damn devil, did he actually rip me off? I'm going to go have a word with him!"

As the front door slammed closed after him, I continued to nibble on my fish under the warm place.

It's very tasty.

… that fuzzy feeling is back again. And my body feels hot.

Am I changing back?

… but I have three tasty fish, so I don't really mind.

Chomusuke clawed at my face while I was trying to get some sleep.

I pulled the covers over my head to try to fend myself off from her.

Whether she's hungry or anything, I'm too tired to worry about that right now.

After Chomusuke stopped, I peeked over the covers to see what she was up to.

My gaze was met with a naked red-haired Onee-san with cat ears and a tail.

"Nyaaa~ Good morning Kazuma-san."

"Say, 'Nyaa~ I love you master!'"

I gave Chomusuke some spare clothes after waking up.

"Nyaa~ I love you master... W-why do I have to say this?"

I gave a piece of mackerel to Chomusuke after she performed the trick I just taught her.

"Hey Kazuma-san, did you kidnap some innocent cat girl?"

Aqua was lazing on the couch watching me train Chomusuke.

"I didn't kidnap anyone. This is Chomusuke. She finally transformed into a beautiful cat girl like I knew she would."

Chomusuke gave me a confused look after I said that.

"Wait a second! I-I am who you say I am, but I'm also that Onee-san you talked to in the hot springs! Hey, Don't-"

"How did she transform? Did you feed her something weird?"

"I'm sure there's an obvious reason for why this happened."

"Y-yes, I am my familiar, but please listen! The reason-"

"Kazuma-san, she looks like a high bounty monster! You think we could get rich if we sell this thing?"

"I would never sell such a creature, besides, aren't we really wealthy already?"

"W-what?! N-no! Please let me finish what I'm trying to say!"

While me and Aqua were talking, I heard the front door open.

"We're home! Is anyone up yet-"

Megumin announced her return home while riding on the back of Yunyun.

Yunyun and Megumin looked like they've just seen a ghost.

"Oh hey. Chomusuke turned into a pretty cat girl."

"Ehhhh?! Doesn't that look like that friendly Onee-san I met in the carriage?"

"What the hell is that?! And why does it look like that Onee-san that taught me explosion magic?!"

What are they going on about?

The girl that taught Megumin explosion was the Demon King General, Wolbach.

Actually now that I look at her… She does look exactly like that Onee-san.

"The Onee-san that was a Demon King General? Is that you?"

"Y-yes it is me! I've been trying to explain that the entire time!"

I remember her trying to explain something, but I think I was too ecstatic over her transformation to pay attention.

"Wait, weren't you evil? Yeah, yeah, you tried to kill all of us back at that fortress!"

Aqua seemed to finally put the pieces together.

"W-well that was just me doing my job! R-really I didn't hate any of you! Please forgive me over that incident! I'm truly a different-"

"You're alive? H-how did you live? Did you teleport away before I used explosion magic on you?"

Megumin interrupted Wolbach after she was put down on the couch.

"Um… no. After I was killed, my familiar consumed my very existence."

So she… merged? I'm not really following…

Is that why she has cat ears and a tail?

It seems Wolbach noticed my confusion.

"Ah, well if I were to go into more detail… Well for starters-"

"Do you really not remember me?"

Wolbach was interrupted by Megumin again before she could explain.

Megumin was blushing lightly and was hiding her face under her hat.

I remember how important this Onee-san was to Megumin; How Megumin wanted Wolbach to remember her so much.

Wolbach held Megumin's hand, and answered in a gentle voice.

"I don't think I could ever forget someone like you."

Wolbach asked to talk alone with Megumin. I'm not sure of what they really talked about, but when everyone came back in, they were chatting it up like best friends.

A little time has passed since then and...

"Despite being Wolbach, you seem to still have some of that furball's traits."

Right now, 'Wolbach the cat' was stuck in the corner against the ferocious Emperor Zell.

"I-I can't help it! Such a creature just fills me with fear! AH! STOP!"

Wolbach started to hiss at the chicken when it got closer.

"Hahaha! Look at her Kazuma! She's scared of the chicken! Isn't that funny?!"

"Shouldn't you be the one helping me?! *hiss*"

Megumin was laughing heartily at Wolbach as she was losing the battle.

"That's my Zell; A fearless dragon that puts people in their place."

"L-Listen! It's not that I'm afraid of it! It's that my familiar is! I-I'm a very confident person!"

Wolbach started clawing at the self-proclaimed dragon.

"Were you ever a confident person? You seemed to be eager to leave the bath after just a bit of teasing."

Megumin, Aqua, and Yunyun all blurted out after I called out Wolbach.

"Why are you bringing up such embarrassing memories right now?! Wait please don't misunderstand!"

"Maybe I am wrong. You were quite confident to crawl into my bed this morning and wake me up."

"Huh?" x3

"No! I-I was still in my familiar's form when I went to sleep! So obviously I just went to bed with you because that's just… W-Wait! What am I saying?! No please it's not like that!"

Teasing her is a lot of fun.

It's like she has Darkness' body, but with a gentle and normal personality.

Actually, Yeah they're definitely bigger than Darkness'... wait.

"Hey, where is Darkness."

Even Wolbach said 'huh.'

"Didn't Darkness say something like… uh… something."

"Darkness wasn't here when I woke up, so that's why I asked Yunyun to accompany me for my daily Explosion."

"Ah…um... I heard from the guild that Darkness-san was going to meet with her cousin Sylphina to take care of her for a few days…"

We all stood in silence after Yunyun said that.

"Who is Sylphina? Is that another girl this NEET has gotten attached too?"

It seems none of us remembered who this Sylphina girl was.

Honestly that girl was really forgettable. I don't think we should be blamed for not remembering her.

"AH! I have an idea! We should have a girl's night! It's been a while since we've had any of our girls talk, and now we have Wolbach with us!"

Aqua proposed something strange.

Girl's night? Did they really have something so outrageous?

"Ah you're right Aqua! I have some interesting things I'd like to talk about regarding events after our battle with Wolbach.."

"I think Wolbach-san would like the stories I have detailing my adventures! Ah! I should tell her how I defeated that Mini Destroyer!"

"Girl's night? We had one of those at the Demon King's Castle. It was really enjoyable, until Sylvia started joining us…"

Right now I'm listening in on the girl's night they're having in Megumin's room.

Why are they talking about me? What did Aqua say? Was it something embarrassing?

I initially came here to see what kind of things I could learn about the girls, but it seems like I'm just being criticized.

As I was getting up I heard Wolbach speak up.

"So… I was wondering which of you is in a relationship with Kazuma."

I immediately leaned my ear back against the door.

"In a relationship with that NEET? Fufufu, like I'd ever be with someone like that!"

I expected that from Aqua, but the only responses that matter are…

"Kazuma-san? I-I'm not in a relationship with him. There was that one time I asked to… um… I asked him a stupid thing-"

I'm just getting disappointed again.

Megumin stopped talking suddenly.

Was she thinking about what to say? Was she wondering if we really were in a relationship? Maybe she was rethinking her feelings about me? She still likes me right? I didn't do anything to make her lose interest right?

Before I could hear any more, the door suddenly opened and I fell inside the room.

Megumin looked at me smugly as she had her hand on the door knob.

"..."

I refused to look up at any of the girls.

"Heh, was Kazuma getting antsy over me hesitating to answer?"

This is bad.

I can't be humiliated like this.

"Hey Kazuma, I said, were you-"

I jumped up and ran out of the room.

"Hey! Get back here! Get him!"

I ran to my room and locked the door.

"Hey Kazuma open up! Hey! Unlock the door!"

Megumin was banging on the other side of my door.

"W-why should I? I refuse to be made fun of!"

"I'm not going to make fun of you at all! Well, at least not too much!"

I threw a pillow over my head and tried to ignore her.

"Fufufu! I didn't know the NEET was spying on us!"

"Kazuma-san? How long were you listening in? W-what I said about you was… uh.."

"Was Kazuma listening in? I'm sorry for that silly question I asked. Nyaa~"

Why was Wolbach starting to act like a cat now?!

"All of you go away! Unless you want to feel the wrath of Satou Kazuma!"

"Huh? That shitty hikikomori thinks he can handle us? Fufufu, this guy really is an idiot. Seriously, he can't even hardly handle any interaction with a girl. Even when the only people who like him are strange and have a few screws loose, he acts like he's popular!"

I opened up the door and me and Megumin pounced on Aqua.

"AH! AH! I'M SORRY! WAIT! WAIT! STOP! WAAAAAAH!"

Aqua and Yunyun were both sleeping soundly on the carpet near the fireplace.

Megumin was leaning on my shoulder drifting off on the couch.

Ahhh… Every now and then, I truly feel at peace here…

"Kazuma…"

Wolbach called out to me from behind the couch.

"You seem to have wonderful companions."

She sat next to me on the couch.

"Yeah, I really do. They might all have some weird quirks, but I wouldn't have it any other way."

Wolbach gave me a sincere smile.

"I'm glad I was able to talk to all of you. I also appreciate how you've taken such good care of me. It's strange, but you truly are a good person at heart aren't you?"

"Oh? Are you starting to grow feelings for me too?I didn't know that was how you felt back in the hot springs."

"You know I can use explosion magic in this form, right?"

"I apologize for that."

She let out a laugh suited for a Demon King General.

"Ah Kazuma! I'm sure you're wondering how I was able to transform aren't you?"

"Oh yeah, I was wondering that."

"Well, it's all because-"

Suddenly, my vision was engulfed by a flash of a bright light.

When I opened my eyes, a sleepy looking Chomusuke was on the couch.

Chomusuke crawled over to me and layed down on my lap.

"Nyaaa~"
