"Hi, White," Steven said happily. He excitedly ran over to the large gems hand and she raised him up to her face. "I'm so proud of you Starlight, how are you doing?" Steven's smile became larger after hearing the praise. "Well good except the new gems are a lot of work but the Pearl at least seems to remember her place," they continued to talk for a while.

They returned to Steven's room after an hour of him talking to White. When they entered the room Steven's attention was laser focused on Connie. "So Connie," he tested the name. "I thought you would like to meet my other pet," he grabbed her arm and took her out of the room. "So your name is Steven?" she asked. "As my pet you're not supposed to talk to me until I talk to you, but yes that is my name," the curious girl asked "So, where are we going?"

"To my garden,"

"Who is there?"

"Spinel,"

"So why do you wear dresses?" Steven stopped and looked at her. "Is there something wrong with it?" he blinked at her "No, it is just unusual for boys to wear dresses,"

"Boys?" Connie's face went as red as a tomato. "Yeah, like girls and boys," the boy just seemed more confused. "You know like I'm a her and you're a he," his eyebrow came even closer "he?I forgot how weird some orgainics are," He started to walk again.

Spinel was waiting in the garden. She was waiting for Steven, the one who didn't abandon her. The warp went off and she bounced her way over there. Steven patted her on the head. "Hey, Spinel," Connie looked at the gem with heart shaped hair. "Spinel this is my new pet Connie she is a human from Earth," Spinels mouth made an o shape but Connie thought she had a hint of anger in her eyes. The boy gave them both a smile "Stevem, do you want to play hide and seek?" Spinel asked. "Tag your it." Steven bopped her on the head and ran away laughing. Spinel walked up to Connie "listen I'm Stevens best friend," she could see the murderous glint in the pink gems eyes.

Pearl was snooping around the diamonds room trying to find something useful. The door opened. A tall skinny green gem with a Pearl on her arm walked in. Her hair was in a bun Her emerald eyes met Pearls blue ones. The Pearls stared at each other for a second. "So your Pink Diamonds rebel Pearl," The green Pearl's voice was high-pitched. "That i am,"

" Well I am here to teach you how to be a proper Pearl," Pearls blues eyes narrowed at the green gem. "What is that supposed to mean?" the other Pearl gave her a look. "No proper Pearl would be a rebel, I am supposed to teach you but if I can't do this the proper way, I have other methods that prove quite effective," her voice darkened at the end. "What is that supposed to mean?" she asked. "You don't think the littlest diamond was perfect at first but i tried teaching him like a normal gem, through trial and error he got it" Pearl didn't like where that was going so she didn't say anything. The other Pearl gave a large smile with all her teeth. "Good, first thing to remember is a Pearl must always stand three gems behind her owner,"

Steven warped away with a small smile on his face. He knew the drama bringing a new pet to the garden would cause. Maybe they would fight by the time he returned. The human was surprised when the hybrid warped away but the gem wasn't. Whenever Steven didn't want to play he left. Connie looked over to the gem and saw how they deflated when the boy left. Then the pink gem looked over to Connie and stiffened. Connie put her hands up and started to back away. "I'm not trying to steal Steven from you," Connie tried to reassure him. That was only half true as she had a negative opinion of the boy.

Pearl was tired of the tedious lessons. She was made with this information in her head but she did complain knowing how cruel some of homeworld's tortures could be. "As a Pearl you are weak and being owned by a diamond is the greatest honor-" she was cut off by the door opening. "Thank you Pearl that will be all," he clapped twice and the green gem left. His pink eyes studied Pearls light blue ones. His eyebrows raised and he went to the bed "Just in case you're wondering. My new pet Connie is playing with my other pet Spinel," Pearl remembered Spinel always playing. "Steven I think-" Steven glared at her, his pink eyes glowing. "It is my diamond to you and i don't care what you think, maybe you need more lessons''

"No, I'm sorry my diamond," he nodded at her. "Pearl, tell me about the earth," Pearl's eyes widened. "Well it is one of the most beautiful places in the universe," Steven seemed interested.

Steven was sleeping peacefully. Pearl stared at him. She thought about things that could have been different. She could have raised him in the temple. He could have been a crystal gem. That was a dream White diamond knew the whole time and took the boy when he was born leaving the rest of the crystal gems to suffer without him. The thing that worried her the worst was what the other Pearl did to him when he was younger.

He was in anguish. The throbbing in his head got worse and worse every second like a sledgehammer was being continuly bashed into his head. Every second the pain surrounding him got worse like needles stabbing him over and over again. The punishment was harsh all he did was not shatter a gem for getting one of his outfits wrong. The pain finally stopped and the green Pearl walked up to him. "Now Steven, what do you say to this worthless gem? He woke up shivering, not remembering his dream to see a Pearl in front of him. He didn't think he just screamed. An earthquake went all around the palace and the walls cracked. "My diamond," Jasper rushed in along with Amethyst. Tears went down Steven's face "Jasper," his voice cracked. He saw the purple gem next to the orange one and stiffened. He didn't like being so weak in front of gems he didn't know. Then Blue diamond entered the room. "Steven what is going on," his mouth was dry and he didn't know how to react. He hadn't had a bad dream in a long time.

Steven was wearing a pink shirt and pants made for stealth but kept his heels because it helped make him feel powerful. He felt anything but that his legs were wably, his mouth was dry, and he was sweating like a hooker at church. He didn't want to go back to the dark room. All that happened there was pain and that was all he could remember. The diamonds thought it would be a good idea after the nightmare. They thought he was going to go back to his old ways.He wanted to run but he knew that would only prove them right.

Pearl was in the void trying to decide on her new form.She knew if she picked the wrong one she would be humiliated again by the diamond picking out an outfit for her. Pearl reformed in Steven's room. She chose her original form hoping that would be okay. It was empty except there was a large figure at the door. She tensed up when she saw the figure's head turn toward her. The shadowy figure came towards her. "Chill out Pearl it's me," Pearl recognized the voice. "Oh thank god amethyst, What happened,"

"I wasn't here when it happened but I heard that Steven made an earthquake and poofed you after a nightmare, Steven left after that and then they put me here to guard the room and you," Pearl absorbed the knowledge. "Do you know where Ruby and Sapphire are?" Amethyst thought about it. "I saw Sapphire being escorted to a resting room but I don't know about Ruby. What about Connie? Where is she?"

"Connie is on a different planet, we can get her after the others," Pearl went toward the door and Amethyst followed. They snuck around the palace. "Pearl do you even know where we're going?" she whispered to the other gem. "Yes," Pearl snapped back. They kept going through the maze of hallways.

Ruby and Sapphire were waiting for the others to get them. Ruby had found Sapphire a few hours ago. They were waiting until the door opened. They smiled for a second. Sapphire whispered to the others "We need to grab Steven,"

"He won't come with us,"Amethyst argued.

"He will follow us" Sapphire started to run down the hall, the others trailing after her. They reached the ominous door and Pearl opened it. Screams went through the hallways. They all shuffled out of the hall into the room then the door closed. They saw Steven with a helmet and restaurants on screaming. Then their eyes looked around the room and Pearl saw the green Pearl tapping on a screen. The Pearl looked up. "What th-" she was cut off by Pearl's spear going through her stomach. Her eyes widened then she poofed. Amethyst took the helmet off of him. She saw his puffy red eyes and streaks of tears on his face. It made everyone in the room flinch as they had only seen him as a confident Diamond. Steven flinched back from them, fell down, and started to crawl backwards away from them. "What are you all doing here!" he could feel his face heat up from embarecement. "Careful dude, we're here to help," Amethyst tried to calm him. "No, you all need to go back to work!" he was used to being with the other diamond after the lesson, not rebel gems. Steven was shaking heavily. After seeing nobody was moving he yelled. "Jasper!Jasper!" He was looking around trying to find a way to escape. They looked at each other and said something but Steven couldn't hear over the blood rushing in his ears. Then they all left except the small purple one.

Amethyst somehow convinced the others to leave so she could talk to Steven the poor boy looked scared out of his mind. "Hey," she sat down across from him waiting for him to calm down. Eventually the boy's breaths slowed and he wiped the tears away. "Get Jasper," his voice was wabaling. "I can't do that Steven," she said calmly knowing it is not the time to joke or break down. "Did you ever meet your dad?" The boy's eyebrow raised."Dad?" Amethyst nodded as if she was expecting this. "Yeah, since your half gem you have two beings that created you, your mom,Pink diamond, and your dad ,Greg,"

"Greg?"

"Yeah, I mean at first I didn't see it but you look exactly like him," Steven nodded at that. "Why did you guys do it?" Steven asked.

"Well, I was made on Earth but the other crystal gems didn't like being told they could only be a servant or they weren't important or they thought the Earth was beautiful and they didn't want it to be destroyed,"

"I don't like it here," the boy confessed. Then he wrapped his arms around the small gem and started to cry softly. After a while his cry softened. He looked into Amethyst eyes and nodded. They got up and started to go towards the door. A glow came from behind them and they turned around. The green pearl reformed in the same outfit she was wearing before. She studied her surroundings then started to laugh. "What is wrong with you?" the purple gem asked. The green gem took a second "You have no idea how to take care of Steven, he is not just half human he is half diamond,and you have no idea what we have done to him,yxqbiz isyk lqxi(1)" Stevens eyes glazed over and he walked over the Pearl. He blinked and his eyes cleared "What?" The pearl smirked at the purple gem.

Jasper was walking to pick up her diamond when she saw some gems walking down the hall looking not right. "Hey!" they froze and she walked up to the odd group. The rebels. "What are you doing?" The orange gem asked. Sapphire spoke up. "Steven asked to bring him his pet, he left it in his garden," Jasper nodded. "Well I'm going to pick him up, follow me my clarity," they were sweating the closer they got to the room. Pearl opened the door for the group. Everyone stared at what was happening in the room. "Jasper, Poof her," Steven "ylgz yb,(2)" Stevens mouth slammed shut and the click of his teeth was audible. It was too late there was a poof. The green gem was gone once again. Steven just stood there staring for a minute. "Let's go," he started to walk towards the door. "My diamond," Jasper said. He kept walking and everyone followed him silently. He brought them to the ship hanger. "My diamond you can't go,"Jasper grabbed his shoulder. He turned to face her "Jasper I'm going, Stay," he commanded. Everyone went into a ruby ship except Jasper who just stayed looking at the ship as it took off. "Goodbye my diamond," she whispered as the ship took off.
