This chapter takes place right before Steven leaves.

Steven Universe was packing his bags, and going on a trip. He didn't have a set destination, or time of arrival, but he had a general plan. He had a few things to do on his checklist before he could leave.

Checklist.

Confirm plans with therapist (check!)

Confirm plans with Connie (check!)

Try to explain to Lion (check!)

Pack bags

Pack up room

Say goodbye to everyone

Tell the gems

Steven held the small piece of paper with a shaky hand. The first three things were easier than he thought, his therapist thought it was a good idea, Connie was supportive, and Lion… Well Lion didn't actually take it all that well, he tried to stuff Steven in his mane.

"What's the worst thing that could happen?" Steven thought jokingly to himself "Pearl stuffing me in her gem?"

Steven looked up from his paper at this thought. It was a real possibility. He was laying in bed, staring at his list. Maybe he should tell the gems before he packed up his room. Although they probably wouldn't notice, his room wasn't part of the living room and kitchen anymore. He finally had privacy.

Steven continued to stare at the list until he drifted into a restless sleep. Pearl shook Stevens' shoulders and he sat up quickly, looking around the room wildly.

"Steven! Steven! You can't go! Garnet saw that you were going to leave, a-and I came up here right away!" Fat tears rolled down her face as she continued to squeeze his shoulders tighter and tighter.

"Look, uh Pearl-" Steven started but was interrupted.

"Was it something we did!? Did we raise you wrong? We tried our best! STEVEN!" She continued to wail "Why are you leaving m- us. I can't lose you again Rose!"

Steven woke up gasping for air, and he could feel tears already dried onto his cheeks. He hadn't had a crazy dream like that since he started taking his medication. He had crumpled up his checklist in his fist while he was sleeping. He straightened it out and read it over. He got started on the next item; packing his bags for the road.

He grabbed his satchel and a duffle bag he found in the closet under the stairs. He folded up a couple different colored star Tee's white, black, blue, and a dark bluish green one. He packed his Camp Pining Hearts shirt that Peridot had made for him. It was one of his favorite shirts. He set aside his organic, pink, letterman style jacket to wear later. He packed jeans and a couple pairs of shorts. And a pink button up shirt that Connie gave him a while ago. It didn't close all of the way, but he still loved it! Steven packed a couple pairs of socks and shoved a pair of new sneakers in the bag. He planned on wearing his "Foot thong thingys".

Besides clothes he squeezed a brush, phone charger, toothbrush, and toothpaste into his duffle bag, along with other hygiene products (Shampoo, Conditioner, etc).

Of course Steven had to bring money, so Greg was happy to give him a large amount, as long as he used it wisely. Steven had promised but didn't really know how to use large amounts of money, so he did research.

Steven's favorite part was the backseat of the Dundi. He had folded the seats down to make room for an air mattress. The mattress was rather thin, and had to be pumped by hand, but it was comfy! He put sheets over it and adorned it with several blankets and pillows.
