Hello my lovelies! I'm back with my second Gallagher Girls story for you all! I hope everyone has been staying safe during these uncertain times. I've found that reading Gallagher Girl fanfiction has really helped me, so I hope that this can help others as well!

I was inspired by Taylor Swift's Mine and it has somehow turned into this story here. I hope you enjoy my Zammie spin on the song.

Disclaimer: I do not own Gallagher Girls or the characters!

Chapter 1:

Cammie sighed, slumping in her seat and rubbing her eyes. She'd been working on her History paper for the past three hours and was still no closer to finishing. Stupid Macey for forcing her to that party last night. Now it was midnight on Sunday, and she only had seven hours until her paper was due to her lecturer.

"Coffee?" A voice broke her from her thoughts, and she smiled gratefully at the handsome man standing beside her with a steaming pot of coffee in his hand.

"You have no idea!" She spoke, lifting her empty mug toward the handsome waiter as he poured her third cup of the night.

"So, what are working on?" He asked conversationally.

Cammie sighed again, "I have a stupid History paper due tomorrow morning and my asshole roommates decided to force me to a party last night. So now I only have seven hours to finish it, and I have no idea what I am writing."

The waiter just laughed lightly, "Sounds like you got yourself a real dilemma there huh? Lucky for you we're open all night, and I'm a bit of a history buff myself," he smirked at her.

"Seriously?" Cammie asked shocked. "No offence, but you don't exactly look like a history buff."

He just smirked at her again, "Coming from the pretty blonde sitting alone in a 24hour diner at midnight on a Sunday."

Cammie blushed, but lowered her eyes slightly, "Okay point taken. So, you know anything about Joan of Arc and the Siege of Orleans in 15th Century France?"

"Oh, totally! Let's see what you've got so far?" he said pulling up a chair and shifting her laptop around to stare at the screen.

Cammie just sat there shocked for a second, wondering who this handsome history buff waiter was, and why he was so willing to help her.

"Okay, firstly, you want to start with actually describing Joan of Arc as a person, then go on to talk about the Siege. Hey! Are you listening?" he smacked her arm lightly making her jump.

Cammie snapped back to reality focusing in on the man in front of her, "Oh sorry! Zoned out!" She smiled shyly at the him. He just placed that smirk on his face and pointed at her laptop telling her to start typing.

So, that was why two hours later, Cammie found herself sipping the dregs of her fifth cup of coffee, typing out the final words of the conclusion to her History paper, surrounded by an empty plate of pie, a bowl of ice cream, and a handsome waiter.

Letting out a sigh of relief as she saved the document and submitted it to her lecturer, she turned to the man with a huge smile on her face.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so much…" But she trailed off, realising that she didn't even know his name.

"Zach. Zach Goode."

"Thank you, Zach. I'm Cammie Morgan."

He smiled back at her, "Cammie, I like that."

Cammie blushed bright red again, "So, where are you from Zach?" she asked, trying to change the subject.

He smirked, noticing the blush, but let it pass without comment, "Ah, a small town. Roseville, Virginia. Too small if you ask me."

"So, what brought you to DC?" She asked curiously.

He chuckled lightly, but there was no humour behind it. "Like I said. It was too small for me. Everyone knew everyone, my whole life was planned. My parents wanted me to settle down with my high school girlfriend, take over the family business. But that was never what I wanted. It was stifling, I couldn't be myself. So, I left. I moved here. I got a scholarship to play football at Georgetown and I work the nightshift here to pay the bills."

He shrugged slightly, "It's not the life I always expected, but it's mine, you know?"

Cammie nodded, she did know, all too well.

"So, what about you? Any skeletons in your closet?" Zach asked winking at her, trying to lighten the mood.

Cammie laughed lightly, "Well, I was born and breed here in DC, but when I was eleven, I was shipped off to an all-girls boarding school, Gallagher Academy. I was angry with my parents at first, but looking back, it was the best years of my young life. I made some amazing friends, Bex, Macey and Liz. We were always getting ourselves into trouble," she chuckled to herself remembering all the antics she used to get up to, "It was actually Macey's idea that we all move to DC and room together at Georgetown."

Zach just sat quietly, listening intently to Cammie talk about her three best friends and the trouble the got up to, a small smile gracing his lips.

"So, anyway, there was this one time that the nearby town had a big dance, and we all snuck out of school to go. We had the best time, until we realised that our headmistress was there with our drivers ed teacher. We got into so much trouble for that one, but the weeks' worth of detention was totally worth it!"

Zach chuckled along with her, enjoying the company and her stories, "Wow! Sounds like you were a rebel back in the day. I guess looks really can be deceiving," he smirked at her.

"Oh, shut up!" Cammie joked before stifling a large yawn. Checking the time, she realised it was after three AM.

"Oh shit! Um, I guess I better get going." She started to pack up her books and laptop, "It was nice to meet you Zach. You're a real life-saver!"

He smiled and nodded at her, "Anytime Cammie." He spoke as she stood and walked out the door with one last grateful smile and tired wave.

Thank you so much for reading this first chapter! Please leave a comment or review to let me know what you think because honestly that is what pushes me the most to keep writing!

For those of you who don't know I am from New Zealand, so I don't know a huge amount about American College (besides we call it University over here!), so forgive me if some parts don't exactly line up.

Also, I recently re-read all of the books and was thinking what an amazing Netflix series it would make! If only dreams could come true!

Anyway, please let me know what you think and stay safe and wonderful my lovelies! xo
