Bellatrix hated Rodolphus Lestrange.

When telling her family this they waved it away, "a school girl crush that she can't seem to understand." They would say, "in three years she'll be introducing him to us as her betrothed."

But they didn't understand, this wasnt some "school girl crush" that she didn't know how to deal with, unbridled loathing was what she felt for the boy who had attempted to bully her younger sisters when they were sorted; Who had attempted to lift her skirts during dinner in the great hall, and who had gotten her thrown into detention with Professor Slughorn when he tossed several unknown potion ingredients into her cauldron, resulting in an explosive concoction.

Yes, Bellatrix hated Lestrange, and he knew it too, as all of the black sisters went out of their way to ruin him; from getting teachers and prefects when he was trying to scare the younger years into doing what he wanted, to outright hexing him when he was distracted; just a week ago both Bellatrix and Andromeda caught him in a duel after he had attempted to bully little Emmeline Vance into doing his charms homework, their creative spellwork landed him in the infirmary for several days.

which was probably what led to this little stand off between herself and him in front of the one eyed witch statue, she had just finished a study session with a young Severus Snape when Lestrange came striding into the corridor, his brother Rabastan and friend Walden McNair at his side.

"Black." He sneered, "isn't this a surprise, you, alone, without your beastly little sisters at your heels."

"Careful there Lestrange." She said back, lip curling up in a snarl, "we wouldn't want to get blood on that pretty little coat of yours."

Rodolphus began to slowly move, his brother mirroring his movements to the right while Walden stood still, "three years you've been at this school, and for three years you've acted like the queen bitch, like you're above all of us."

"Well it does do one good to know where her place is." She drawled, "perhaps you would be much happier if you learned yours."

"Bellatrix…" the younger slytherin behind her whispered, his hand twitching to go to his wand, his eyes wide and terrified.

"Go get Dromeda little sniv." She told him.

"You stay put right there snape." Rabastan called, "or you'll regret it."

"Go, they wont do anything."

Severus hesitated for only a moment before he nodded and took off down the corridor.

"STUPEFY!"

"REDUCTO!IMPEDIMENTA!PROTEGO!"

Rabastan rolled out of the way alongside his brother as the floor exploded into dust in front of them, the stunner Rodolphus had tried to hit severus with had been rebounded by the shield Bellatrix had thrown up, it slammed into Walden's chest along with the stunner the dark haired witch had sent towards them.

"Bombarda!" Rodolphus snarled, sending the overpowered hex at the girl, who easily reflected it into the one eyed witch statue, flinging her own, now silent, spells at the brothers, who returned in kind, it didn't slow until Bellatrix caught Rabastan with an overpowered Flipendo, sending him crashing into the bannister behind him.

"Rabastan!" Rodolphus called worriedly, turning to look at his brother.

With a flourish of her wand, Bellatrix capitalized on Rodolphus being distracted, sending him to the ground clutching at his face as the Bat Bogey Hex did its work.

"It's about time you learned your place Rodolphus." Bellatrix sneered down at the defeated boy, "you couldn't even beat me with two others helping you, its pathetic."

"BELLA!"

Bellatrix turned and smiled as she saw her sisters round the corner; it fell when she saw the fifth year Prefect Lucius Malfoy follow, but not for long, "you missed the party girls!" She called.

"Watch out!" Narcissa screamed, raising her wand to send a stunner at Rodolphus; who had banished the bogeys and had sent a blue spell right at Bellatrix, who was caught in the back and sent crashing into a suit of armor.

What happened next no one could understand.

An explosion sent most everyone off their feet, a myriad of colors blinded those in the halls and forced Andromeda-the only one who had kept her feet under her-to cover her eyes. Once the light died down she found that her sister and the suit of armor had disappeared.

"Bella?" She called out, "Bella where are you!""

Narcissa slowly sat up, looking about, "where is she…"

Andromeda felt shaky as she walked to the spot she had seen her sister crash into, finding nothing but a singed spot on the marble, "Lestrange…" she started, turning to look at the groaning boy, attempting to get to his feet, "What did you do to my sister?"

He looked at the singed spot and slowly looked back to Andromeda, 'I...didn't do anything."

Andromeda got a dangerous glint in her eyes as she leveled her wand at him, "you hit her with a spell! A blue one! There's only so many that are that color so tell me!"

Rodolphus looked at Lucius, who was now back on his feet and likewise had his own wand out, "what did you do Rodolphus?" Lucius asked coldly.

"I...I only used a disarming spell!" He said quickly. "Why would I use anything else?"

"Don't lie to me." Andromeda whispered, striding towards him and pressing the tip of her wand to his neck, 'DON'T LIE TO ME! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY SISTER!"

"Ms. Black please." Lucius began, stepping between her and Lestrange, "he's not lying, though I wish he was, because now we don't know what happened to her...lets go find a Professor, surely they can help.'

"No teachers!" Rabastan groaned, slowly dragging himself over, cradling his arm, "they'll get us in trouble."

" You're already in trouble you little slug." Andromeda growled, attempting to push past Lucius, who stood his ground; Soon the small group dissolved into bickering and threatening, all the while Narcissa slowly knelt down by the scorch mark.

"Bella...where did you go…"

February 1994

Harry slowly made his way down the first corridor towards the one eyed witch statue, having finally lost Neville and ducked Professor Snape, he was finally good to simply leave!

But still he stopped-as he always does- at the dark scorch mark just a few meters from the one-eyed witch, he had heard the story just as everyone else had; about how a third year witch had disappeared, no trace left of her after a duel against never learned the girls name, nor did he try and find out, but every time he walked through this corridor he would take a moment to stop and have a slight moment of silence for her;even if he didn't know why he did it for her. It had simply become a habit that he couldn't break.

"I hope wherever you went...you're happy." Harry said softly, "and I hope you find your way back...someday." he then put his hand on the scorch mark, slowly closing his eyes.

BOOM!

Harry was thrown back across the corridor as a blinding multi colored light filled the air, soon followed by the sound of crashing metal and a pained grunt from Harry as someone slammed into him.

"Ow…"he groaned, slowly trying to sit up, only to be pushed down roughly by a slender hand, He opened his eyes when he felt a wand being pressed into his neck.

"Who are you?" A feminine voice growled, "where'd lestrange go? Where are my sisters?"

"i'm...Harry Potter...and I don't know who Lestrange is...or your sisters…" Harry said,cautiously looking up to the girl's face.

She was beautiful, in harry's opinion, with stormy gray eyes that seemed to shift into silver every now and then, and long, curly black hair that cascaded down her shoulders and framed her heart-shaped face; she was slender, and shorter then he was, but exuded a dominating power that made Harry shrink back as much as he could.

'Harry Potter?" she asked, "there's only one Potter here in Hogwarts and that's James Potter, so either you're a liar, or an idiot!"

Harry stared at her in confusion, "I'm the only potter in Hogwarts...and...are...you bleeding?" he asked, his eyes widening as he looked down towards her midriff.

Her own gaze likewise looked down, "oh…" she whispered, seeing the mangled end of the suit of armors sword sticking out from just below her ribs, "That's not...good…" she staggered back and collapsed, harry quickly slid forward, catching her before she could hit the unforgiving marble floor.

"We need to get you to Madam Pomfrey." He said, maneuvering her to where her left arm was draped over his shoulders.

"I don't need your help." She muttered as he got his feet under him and stood, she let out a pained grunt as the movement jostled her wound.

"I don't think you have much of a choice." Harry said dryly, "just take it slow, don't try to move too fast or you can make the injury worse."

"I have a sword stuck in my stomach." She hissed angrily as they began moving at a slow pace, "how can I make it worse?"

"You could make the blade move and cause internal bleeding. Or it could be jostled enough to make it dislodge, which could result in you bleeding out-" Harry started listing off.

"-I get it."She grumbled, looking away from him and pouting at being rebuked.

Harry smiled despite the situation, "lucky the infirmary isn't too far."

" oh yes so lucky." She grumbled as they trudged along.

"You never did give me your name." Harry said conversationally as they slowly rounded the corner.

"And why would I tell you?"

""Because I'm the one dragging your sorry arse to the infirmary."

"Sorry is it?" She bit out, "I think it's rather nice."

Harry snorted at that, blushing furiously, "you're deflecting."

She rolled her eyes as they finally reached the doors of the infirmary, "its Bellatrix, Bellatrix Black."

Harry felt like the name was familiar, and shuddered at the specific familiarity of the last name, but quickly shook it off, "beautiful name." He said as he pushed the door open, "Madam Pomfrey! We have an emergency!"

"What did you do this time Mr. Potter?" The Matron asked as she exited her office, looking down at a spare bit of parchment, "I swear you're in here more than-by the goddess what happened!?" She shouted upon seeing a bloody Harry Potter carrying an equally bloody girl.

"Not sure." Harry stated as the matron helped him get Bellatrix to one of the beds, "was walking down the first floor Corridor, by the one eyed witch statue when she kind of slammed into me alongside a suit of armor, its sword got stuck in her stomach."

"There's no suit of armor down there…" she trailed off as she got a good look at the girl, "There's no way…" she said in shock.

"Obviously there is" Bellatrix muttered as she glared at the matron, only for her eyes to widen, "Poppy?"

Harry raised an eyebrow at her incredulous voice, then looked at Madam Pomfrey who was still looking down at Bellatrix with shocked eyes, "madam pomfrey?"

The matron quickly shook her head and began treating the wound, "it's a good thing you didn't pull this out dear, it could've led to a whole slew of other problems."

Bellatrix kept staring at the matron, her piercing grey eyes flashing slightly, "you're much older then I remember." She stated flatly.

"Time does that, now take a deep breath; I'm going to remove the sword. Mr. Potter please keep her as still as you can.

Harry put his hands on Bellatrix's shoulders. But found that he wasn't needed as she barely even flinched when the blade came out, only a slight twitch in her eye and the curl of her lip showed the pain she felt.

"You were in your seventh year when I was in my first." Bellatrix said almost like an accusation, "and you had barely started working as an assistant healer here earlier this year.

Madam Pomfrey said nothing as she began closing up the wound, working on what amounted to autopilot until the doors to the infirmary burst open.

"Potter! I should've known this trail of blood would lead to you, what foolishness have you gotten yourself into now-" Snape began to rant, stopping only when his eyes fell on Bellatrix, who's eyes widened in shock.

"Severus?" she asked carefully.

Snape slowly approached her, "bella...you're...you're here…"

She looked from him, to Harry, then to Madam Pomfrey, then back to Severus, before promptly leaning over the side of the bed and throwing up.

WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW

"So she's the girl that disappeared all those years ago?" Harry asked after he listened to Professor Snape's explanation of what was going on.

"Indeed." Snape said as he watched Dumbledore scan Bellatrix with his wand.

Bellatrix refused to look at any of them, instead she was glaring resolutely at her blanket covered legs.

"Amazing." Albus whispered as he stepped away from her, "it seems, my dear, that you were a part of a very rare magical occurrence; you were in the right time and place to have been caught in a surge of ambient magical energy from the Ley Lines running under Hogwarts. It pulled you from your time and deposited you in the same spot a few decades into your future!"

"Right place and time he says." Bellatrix muttered bitterly.

"From a purely academic standpoint that is." Albus corrected himself.

"When can I see my sisters?" Bellatrix asked before Albus could continue.

"I've already contacted them, they will be here soon." Professor Snape said, stepping forward.

"Could always count on you, couldn't I, little sniv?" Bellatrix asked.

Snape's lip twitched, "please refrain from calling me that."

"Getting big for your britches aren't you Sniv-Sniv?" she asked innocently.

"Perhaps we should go meet Mrs. Tonks and Mrs. Malfoy at the gates." Albus interceded as he saw a vein pulse in Snape's head. "Come Severus."

The two professors walked away as Bellatrix began to cackle, stopping when the pain her stomach flared.

"You're my hero." Harry declared as he took a seat beside him, "I don't think anyone else could've gotten away with talking to him like that."

"He was a first year last I saw him." she murmured, leaning back in her bed, "angry little thing running after that muggleborn gryffindor girl…" she looked at Harry, "you have her eyes come to think of it…but you look Like James Potter's twin."

"I get that a lot." he said, running a hand through his hair.

"Hmph...Potter was a first year as well, he and Snivy were always butting heads," she shook her head, "poor Snivy always started the confrontation, and James and Siri would start some kind of fight, or prank in retaliation…"

"Siri?" Harry asked.

"Sirius, my cousin," she shook her head, 'he hated our family, well, he hated his mother and father, and I can't blame him, Auntie Walpurga threw the cruciatus around at the most minor of conveniences, and Uncle Orion never spared the rod; their favorite kicking post was Siri, but he gave as good as he got, I remember one day he blasted auntie through a wall when she hit Reggie with a Cruciatus, one of the few times Uncle was proud of him…" she looked to Harry, raising an eyebrow at his discomfort, "do you not like talking about my cousin?"

"Well...he...isn't a nice person." he started slowly, 'In fact...he betrayed my parents...got them killed."

Bellatrix stared at him for a few moments, then burst out laughing, "Sirius...betray…" she got out between chuckles, tears trailing down her cheeks as she held her stomach, "oh that's funny, Sirius is the most loyal person i've ever met, he'd just as soon cut his own arm off then betray his friends or brother." she looked at Harry, her laughter subsiding as she saw the serious look on the boys face, "you're...you're serious…" she said faintly.

"He killed Peter Pettigrew after…" he said bitterly, "along with twelve muggles….he escaped just to...finish his mission…"

Bellatrix slowly shook her head, "No...no Siri loved anything muggle, why would he-" she stopped as the doors burst open once more and two women came running in, for a moment she thought it was her mother running towards her;but that wasn't right, her mother would've been ancient by now, and the woman in front of her-

"Andy?" she asked carefully, staring at the woman with curly raven hair and garnet eyes, then looked to the woman behind her, slightly taller than Andy, with long blonde hair, "Cissy?"

"Bella…" Andy whispered, tears in her eyes, 'Bella!" she surged forward and wrapped the girl in a hug. A hug that Bella numbly returned as Narcissa joined them.

Harry slowly stood and walked away, a myriad of emotions raging in his heart as he closed the door to the infirmary with a loud click!

WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW

"-we looked for you for weeks…" Andy whispered, she was now sitting beside Bella's bed, nursing a cup of tea that Narcissa had procured from a hogwarts elf, "the aurors were called in and everything, we searched that corridor and the grounds so many times…"

"They couldn't find a single trace of anything." Narcissa said, daintily sipping her tea, "Professor Dumbledore expelled the Lestranges over it, they transferred to Durmstrang…"

"Lucius was most vocal in their removal." Andy muttered, "it seemed he had finally found a line that his lackeys shouldn't cross."

"Andromeda." Narcissa started warningly, "that is my husband you're talking about."

"He was a bullying ponce and you know it."

"He wasn't-"

"He was cissy.' Bella interrupted, she sat in her bed with no tea, staring down at her hands, "unless we stated they were off limits he did as he pleased…" she looked at her, "and you married him."

Narcissa set her tea down, not looking her older-younger?-sister in the eyes, 'I did."

"What on earth possessed you to marry him?" she questioned, "it couldn't be for his money or status, we had that in droves, and I know you would've razed the townhouse to the ground if Uncle Orion had made a contract…"

"He loves me." Narcissa said simply, "and he always has…"

"Narcissa, look at me." Bellatrix commanded, making her younger-older-sister look up into her storm gray eyes, "I have one serious question…is he a good shag?"

Andromeda choked on her tea as she began laughing while Bella wore an impish smile, "he has to have something going for him under that prim and pomp." she cackled as Narcissa blushed furiously.

"He...I...how Vulgar!"

"Oh please we've said worse before." bella retorted with a snort, smiling at the tension being broke, she looked to Andromeda, "and you really married that mudblood you were flirting with-"

"Don't use that word." Andromeda said abruptly, shocking Bella, Andromeda sighed, "Ted is a wonderful man...he doesn't deserve that title…"

Bella's eyes softened, "then I won't use it around you." she conceded while Narcissa huffed, "Oh get your knickers out of that twist Cissy." she drawled, "she's with him and there's nothing we can do about it."

"You're okay with our sister being with a mu-ggleborn but when it comes to Lucius-" she started.

"Had Lucius been a gentleman and not a bully I would have no problem with him." Bella spat, her trademark anger flaring up, 'but the way he carried himself even amongst the Pureblood put shame on the noble houses."

Narcissa looked like she had tasted something sour but said nothing more.

"Now...can someone tell me why everyone believes that Sirius Black is a traitor?" she asked, narrowing her eyes when both her sisters looked away, "It was only their first year but everyone can tell that Siri was Loyal to James."

"The official report states that he was the Potters secret keeper." Andromeda said carefully, "and that he sold them out to You-Know-Who-"

"No I don't know who," Bella snapped, glaring at her sister, "I've been a bit busy lately so forgive me if I don't know who we are talking about."

"The Dark Lord mother and father were talking of our third year." Narcissa whispered, once again refusing to look at her sister, "he was more than hot air and empty words...he took the wizarding world to war…"

"-and had support of most of the sacred twenty-eight." Andromeda added, earning her a glare from Narcissa.

"And they believe Siri followed him?" she asked angrily, "the boy hated even the mentioning of Dark Magic outside of Grimmauld Place!"

"No one knew what to believe," Andromeda said, "and it didn't help that Sirius blew up a street to kill Peter Pettigrew a few hours after the Potters died."

"What was decided in the courts?" she questioned, her lip twisting into a snarl when both of her sisters stiffened, "he had a trial didn't he?"

"I pushed for one…" Andromeda murmured, "but with being disowned-"

"-And I was dealing with Lucius and his trial at the time, I didn't-"

"EXCUSES!"

The older women flinched at their sisters' rage, her magic lashing out along with her words, "The Heir of the Most Noble and Ancient House of Black sent to Azkaban without a trial and his living relatives don't even fight for a trial." she spat, "after everything Siri did for us, making himself a target for the ire of our parents and his when he could; Defending you, Narcissa, your first few weeks of school when the older gryffindors would insult you when me and Andromeda weren't around, and standing up for you, Andromeda when Belby was trying to besmirch your honor." she sneered, "and neither of you could give him more then a half-hearted attempt."

"We did what we could in our position Bella." Andromeda growled, her own magic manifesting and pressing Bella's back with a strength Bella had never felt before from her sister, "there is only so much a disowned Black and Trophy wife can do."

"Trophy wife?" Narcissa asked in offence as Andromeda's magic slowly receded.

"Let's be honest here Cissy, you haven't done anything with your masters in Potions or Charms."

"Still not a trophy wife."

"Can we get back to the topic at hand." Bella snapped, "we need to make sure Siri gets the trial he deserves! Not to wallow back in Azkaban."

"He won't wallow in Azkaban."

The three women looked up to the new arrival, a petite girl with bright pink hair and pixie-esque features, "Nymphadora? What are you doing here?" Andromeda asked, standing up.

The girl's hair turned bright red, "Mum you know I hate-" she stopped when Bellatrix suddenly stood up, walking towards the girl with a slight limp, 'Um...what's she doing…" she asked, her hair turning an unsure brown.

"A metamorphmagus…" Bella whispered in awe, "and you're Andy's Sprog." she looked to her sister, "you had a Metamorphmagus? The first one in the Black family in Centuries?"

Andy nodded slightly, 'Bellatrix, this is Nymphadora, Nymphadora, your aunt Bellatrix."

"Mum!"

"Don't like your name little Nym?" she asked sympathetically, "trust me, I understand, Bellatrix doesn't exactly roll off the tongue."

"Can you please just call me Tonks? And at least you never got called Nymphadora the Nymphomaniac." she grumbled, crossing her arms.

"Well it doesn't roll off the tongue as well as yours but they did try and call me Bellatrix the trick."

"Until you cursed them out a window." Narcissa said.

Bellatrix looked contemplative for a moment, then broke out into a fond smile, "I did do that didn't I?" she sighed, then looked at Tonks, "what were you saying about not wallowing in Azkaban?"

Tonks cleared her throat, "the Minister has approved the use of the Dementors Kiss on Sirius if he gets caught."

Both andromeda and Narcissa were instantly on their feet as Bellatrix's magic flared once more, knocking two beds against the wall and almost bowling over tonks, her hair seemed to crackle with energy as she clenched her fists, "Cissy…" she growled out, "you will get that Ponce of a husband of yours to begin pushing for a trial for Sirius, and Andy…" she looked at her now eldest sister, "you will help me track down the idiot so we can get him there."

WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW

A few days later.

Harry sighed as he walked towards the great hall, his satchel on his shoulder, he was awake a lot earlier then he usually would be, but the last few days he had found it hard to sleep, the confusion and surety of Bellatrix's words about her cousin kept coming to him while he was trying to sleep and kept him out of the dream world he so craved to be apart of. What if she was right and Sirius Black hadn't been the reason his family died? What if there was something else going on?

"You may want to be careful potter."

Harry looked up and found himself staring at Bellatrix, now out of her ruined uniform and in a fairly nice dark blue dress, her hair still as curly and wild as he had seen it the day she arrived in their time. "Careful about what?" he asked curiously.

"I can see the smoke spewing from your ears," she said with a cheshire smile, "if you're not used to doing much thinking then you'll fry your brain."

Harry rolled his eyes, "guess you're feeling better since madam Pomfrey allowed you out of the infirmary."

Bellatrix's jaw clenched, "she was much nicer back in 1970." she grumbled.

Harry laughed, "I'm sure she was." He said making a move to walk into the great hall, only to stop when Bellatrix stepped in front of him, "is...there something else I can help you with?" He asked awkwardly.

Bellatrix smirked, making Harry take a small step back, "don't you know your manners Potter?" She drawled, taking a step forward as he moved backwards, "custom dictates a gentleman should be escorting a lady to her seat. And while I'd use the term loosely with you…" she trailed off as she watched the indignation fight with his anxiety.

"Well then," he muttered, stepping forward to offer her his arm, surprising her ever so slightly, "allow me to escort the lady to her seat, though I use the term loosely."

Bellatrix's smirk turned into a full grin as she looped her arm through his, "he has wit." She purred, making harry stiffen, "perhaps there is hope for him yet."

"W-what house are you in?" He questioned as they walked into the great hall, fighting off the urge to glare at Ron and Dean who were staring at him in shock.

"Normally I'd say Slytherin, but Professor Dumbledore in his infinite wisdom had me resorted." She almost laughed at the sour look on Harry's face, "I take it you don't like the snake pit too much."

"One more so than the rest."

"Is it wittle dwako?" She simpered, "i met him two days ago, too much like his father for my tastes, and about as good at getting hexed."

"You hexed him?" Harry asked in surprise.

"I instructed him in a lesson every boy should know by their first year." She drawled, giving him a cheshire grin, "if you're going to posture and threaten, make sure you can back it up." She stopped his walking and pulled him down a bit, whispering into his ear, "and to make sure your fangs are sharper than your adversary." She let out a breathy chuckle as she pulled away from the flustered gryffindor, "thank you for escorting me to my table Mr. Potter." She said, still grinning at him.

Harry blinked, looking at the table that Bellatrix was beginning to sit at, "so...ravenclaw?" He asked.

Bellatrix rolled her eyes, "who said Gryffindors weren't smart?" She sneered, making a few fourth years laugh, "run along now Potter, before you hurt yourself."

Harry put his hands in his pockets, his eyes narrowing slightly before he smiled, "well, blue does suit you much more then green." He quipped, turning around and walking away.

Bellatrix watched as he walked away, her lips quirked up in a smile, "wit indeed." She said, slowly turning to the dishes in front of her.

"You're Bellatrix Black." A dreamy voice said, making Bellatrix look at the girl sitting across from her, her silver eyes staring at her with an air of distance in them, "you have several wrackspurts around you."

Bellatrix blinked, "Wrackspurts?" She questioned.
