Welcome to Pond a simple one-shot. Surprisingly not one of solely Harry and Daphne. I wanted to use Tracey since I enjoy a lot of stories that use her and I thought that she deserved a little more screen time. Maybe one day I write a sole Harry and Tracey but for now, I hope you enjoy this story.

Warm beams of sunlight danced out from behind a cloud. Tracey grinned as she looked up towards the bright blue sky. With a jump, Tracey grabbed the monkey bars above her and began to swing around. Tracey could see her mom reading on a bench and Daphne smiling as she swung on the swings. Eventually, Tracey got bored playing on the playground and walked over to Daphne. Daphne slowed the swing to a stop before she sighed and let Tracey pull her off the swings and towards the woods.

Tracey marched them towards a dirt path that led into the woods.

"Come on Daphne, let's go exploring!" Tracey said letting go of her friend's hand and beginning her march down the path. Only to stop short when Daphne grabbed the back of her collar.

"Auntie will not be happy if we go out of sight."

"Mum won't have a problem finding us, just a little swish, and pop right on top of us," Tracey said looking over her shoulder at Daphne. Daphne gave Tracey a blank stare before closing her eyes with a sigh and releasing Tracey. A grin stretched across Tracey's face as the two began their walk down the dirt path.

Along the edges of the paths colorful wildflowers bloomed. Tracey enjoyed pointing the vibrant ones while Daphne pointed out the more subtle ones. Both girls enjoyed pointing out the colorful birds they spot.

At the sound of gurgling water, Tracey and Daphne perked up and picked up their pace. The path lead them to a pond being feed to by a stream. Squatting down, the two peered into the pond to see fishes swimming along the bottom and ponds skaters dancing on the surface. The splash from an escaping frog made the two jump away from the pond. They turned to look at each other before giggling.

The sound of sniffling drained any amusement the two had. Looking around they saw a dark-haired boy with glasses soaked to the bone in overly large clothing. Some plant was stuck in his hair, but the boy made no move to get it out as he curled up on himself. Without thinking, Tracey walked towards the boy.

"You have something in your hair, do you want me to get it out?" Tracey asked squatting down.

The boy's head snapped up as he scooted away. His emerald green tear-filled eyes widen before they rested on Tracey's own amber eyes. He said no words as he nodded his head, his eyes never leaving Tracey's. Tracey gave a small smile and slowly moved her hand to remove the offending piece of plant.

"I'm Tracey, and you are?" Tracey asked tossing the plant into the pond.

"My name's Harry," Harry mumbled now not looking anywhere towards Tracey.

Tracey crossed her arms with a huff, "At least look at someone when they are talking to you."

"Sorry," Harry said looking up with wide eyes.

Tracey paused before sighing and flopping down next to Harry. Daphne sighed before she gracefully took her own seat next to Harry and pulled out a handkerchief.

"I am Daphne, please use this to clean yourself up a bit," Daphne said holding the handkerchief before Harry.

Harry stared at the handkerchief for a long moment before looking into Daphne's blue eyes.

"Thank you," Harry said taking the handkerchief and wiping his face and glasses with it.

For a brief moment, Harry moved his bangs out of the way revealing the lightning bolt scar before Harry covered it up with his hair again. Daphne and Tracey shared a look behind Harry, their eyes were wide and mouth slightly open. Tracey and Daphne shared a nod before looking back at Harry who was watching the pond.

"How did you get so soaked?" Tracey asked.

"My cousin and his friends pushed me into the pond before running off," Harry said monotone.

"Why don't you tell your guardians about this?" Daphne said a deep frown forming.

"My aunt and uncle don't care and would probably encourage it. Easier to stay out here and wait to dry then return and get yelled at for tracking in water and mud." Harry's monotone and casual attitude about the situation had Tracey's fist clenched tightly around her skirt. Daphne's blue eyes had a stormy look to them she frowned. Harry did not notice as he watched a bird flutter on the other side of the pond. "Thank you both for your kindness and company. You both should leave before my cousin comes back. He likes to bully anyone who tries to be nice to me."

"He sounds like a real prick and I am not about to let some prick tell me what I can or can not do," Tracey said crossing her arms.

"I don't want to see you hurt," Harry said looking towards Tracey with wide eyes.

"Like he could I make him think twice about being a prick. Come on, we are getting you out of those wet and disgusting clothes," Tracey said pulling on Harry's arm.

Harry let himself be pulled up, "Why? Why are you helping me?"

"Because you look like you need help and shown a little kindness," Daphne said as she brushed herself off.

Harry held out the borrowed handkerchief, but Daphne just gave a small smile and waved it off. After a moment of hesitation, Harry stuffed the handkerchief into his pocket. Tracey grabbed his free hand and began to pull him along.

"Let's go, I am sure mum can get you some dry clothes and you can take a bath at my house," Tracey said grinning at Harry.

"You really think she would?" Harry asked in a soft voice.

"I know she would, nothing to worry about."

Tracey began to pull Harry back up the dirt path while Daphne shook her head with a smile and followed her friend and new acquaintance. Harry's eyes were wide as he stared at the brunette that was pulling him along. A small smile danced at his lips for the first time that day as he let himself get dragged along.

I hope you enjoyed this story.

Hope to see you all around again.
