After waking up entirely too early, yet again, I couldn't stomach the idea of instant coffee so I trudged through the street to the nearest Starbucks. I almost walked in and straight out again as I noticed the long line already formed but the smell of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods lured me in and I resolved to wait in line with the rest of the neighbourhood insomniacs and early risers. The line was moving, but not very fast. The soft murmur of voices, the clang of the coffee and buzz of the milk being prepared soothed my already foggy brain into a bit of a microsleep.

Mindlessly, I stepped forward with the rest of the line, my mind sluggishly going over the rest of my plans for the day. I didn't need to be at work for another hour and a half, I'd emptied out my inbox yesterday before heading home to my cosy one bedroom apartment at the end of the day. I thought about making a dentist appointment for later this week but my fear of having a cavity would probably put off that task for at least another week. I knew my boss Jessica would be loading my inbox with more work this morning so that would keep me busy, but I felt confident that once I'd had my morning coffee (and maybe another in a few hours) I'd be feeling ready to take on the tasks set.

I took another step forward, following the still too long line of people in front of me. I was on to planning the groceries I would pick up after work when someone stood beside me exclaiming, "Man, there are way too many people here so early. This is crazy!" then he gently took my hand in his. Frowning, I looked down at our joined hands, then up up up to the strangers face. A large man with dark curly hair, tired blue eyes and a clean shaven face was looking back down at me, both of us obviously in a state of un-caffeinated confusion.

"You're not my wife."

"Nope." I shook my head to emphasise that no, I was not his wife. I wasn't anyone's wife and would never be anyone's wife. Marriage wasn't for me, I'd already decided that when I was 4 years old and my parents marriage had ended loudly, messily and painfully.

A voice from behind us broke our stare. "You're holding the wrong hand, honey." A pretty blond woman around my height was looking at the man with a raised eyebrow. She sent an apologetic look my way before returning her gaze to the man still holding my hand. The mans hand tightened slightly against my own and we both looked back down to our joined hands. He then turned back to the woman I was presuming to be his wife.

"I don't know, I feel kind of committed now." I snorted at his response to his wife.

"Dude, I'm not paying." He looked at me with a hurt expression on his honestly handsome face and I almost caved and changed my mind. I remained strong though and he moved back in the line to hold the hand of his wife instead. She rolled her eyes at him.

"Honey, I'm not paying either." He looked crest fallen until a man standing a few people in front of me turned back to him.

"Sir, you can come and hold my hand. I'll buy you anything you want." The wife and I exchanged a surprised look as the large man walked haughtily toward the new man and took his hand.

"At least someone cares about me!"

I cast my eyes back to the woman behind me.

"Is this normal behaviour for your husband?" She snorted softly and nodded her head.

"Unfortunately, yes. I'm surprised at the man ahead of us but not at my husband. I'm so sorry about him. I'm Rose and that's Emmett." She held her hand out to me (which I quietly laughed at considering how I'd met her husband) and we shook hands.

"I'm Bella."

Rose and I turned to face the two men still holding hands. They were quietly murmuring to each other so we couldn't hear what they were saying but they moved on from holding hands to wrapping an arm around each other's back and snuggling close. I raised my eyebrows at this new development and turned my eyes back to Rose. She had an amused yet surprised smile on her face and I wasn't sure what to think. The other man started rubbing Emmetts back reassuringly and Emmett placed a kiss to the side of the mans head. While I was quietly appalled by Emmett's behaviour, Rose was apparently holding back laughter at this new development.

At the sound of Rose's snickering, Emmett and the man glanced back at us.

"Edward here understands what it's like to be unloved and uncared for. He's promised to take care of me this morning. We don't need a woman!" Both men were looking at us with serious expressions on their handsome faces and Rose and I couldn't stop ourselves. We fell toward each other laughing loudly, many other people sending us annoyed looks for interrupting the otherwise quiet morning. Rose obviously decided to play with her husband and a fake furious look overtook her face!

"And we don't need a man!" she looked back at me and toward my mouth. Suddenly I was on the receiving end of a soft, slow kiss from Rose. I was not complaining. Who doesn't enjoy soft, slow kisses first thing in the morning? Both men looked hurt at the turn of events and looked back at each other. At the same time, they got a determined look on their faces and started kissing passionately.

I grabbed Rose's waist for support. Not gonna lie, that was hot! I think both Rose and I were struck a little dumb by the display before us as the men continued to love on each other with their mouths. A throat clearing ahead of us alerted the men to the fact they were next in line. Rose and I turned to each other once again with matching shocked expressions this time.

It was our turn to order before we'd managed to overcome our shock at the turn of events. Without thinking, we ordered together and I paid for us both. We stepped to the side to wait for our coffees. The men still seemed committed to spending the morning together, they were still cuddling and casting angry looks our way. We were clearly not forgiven. For what, I'm not quite sure.

Soon, the men's coffees were ready and not long after that, our coffee followed. We walked out of the coffee shop together each taking sips of our beverages. As the coffee started to infiltrate our systems, the fog of the early morning must have started lifting from our brains. A few minutes of silence later and our eyes started darting around to each other in confusion. All of us wondering if all that had really happened this morning. Emmett tightened his hold on Edward briefly before releasing him and moving cautiously toward his wife. Rose still had one arm wrapped around my waist but released me as Emmett moved towards her. Edward scrunched his nose adorably, nodded to us once and turned to walk away. Rose, Emmett and I looked at each other, blushes rising to all our cheeks before we turned and headed in opposite directions. The coffee lifting the dream like state we'd all obviously found ourselves in.
