Disclaimer: I don't own the Brady Bunch

So My first attempt with this story didn't work. So, I thought I would try something else! This is going to be a pseudo series with the Bradys and their families, set in the modern day of course. And while it will have its angsty moments it'll be mostly lighthearted so here we go! Enjoy Episode one of Brady's Bunch! I hope you enjoy!

Peter's House

The sun was rising, and everything was soft and still that morning. Peter yawned, as he rolled over and smiled softly at the sight of his beautiful wife sleeping peacefully beside him. His brown eyes gazing at her light tanned skin, and her charcoal lashes that kissed her cheeks before moving downward to her pink lips. Gently, he ran a hand through her dark hair. It was crazy to think, that after several of failed attempts down the aisle and a couple of very very bad marriages here he was. Married to the love of his life, with six kids well granted they were his stepkids but that didn't really matter to him. He loved them and he loved Anna.

"Morning." She says with a smile, as she opens an eye before blearily smiling up at him.

"Morning." He says softly, and his wife giggles as he wraps his arms around her and pulls her in close. Gently kissing her forehead and she wraps her arms around him. When something gets on the bed, and they realize that they have been interrupted. They look, and see eight year old Rebecca sitting there on her knees with a smile, long brown waist length hair loose and while as she smiles. Playfully he quips. "Your children are up."

"Before sunrise they're your children." She replied with a chuckle as she rolled over onto her other side covering herself with the blankets.

"Mommy, Da...Peter, you have to get up it's time for school." Said Rebecca, bouncing on the bed slightly.

"You can call him dad, Rebecca." Said Anna, and Peter lightly chuckled.

"It's alright hon, you take your time." Said Peter, he and his wife had been married a little over a week and while he and his brothers had accustomed to calling Carol 'mom' fairly quickly he didn't expect the kids to do the same to him. For one thing it was an adjustment for everyone, he went from being single and childless to married and being a father, they went from their mom being married to their dad to...they're mom being married to some guy much older than her, who came from a large family. So yeah it was an adjustment, but Peter was patient. He'd let them take all the time they needed. "Why don't you go wake up your brothers and sisters alright? We'll be downstairs to make you breakfast."

"Ok, thanks Peter." Said Rebecca with a smile, before hopping off the bed. Anna sighed, as she woke up and brushed some of her dark hair away as she sat up and yawned.

"I'm sorry, I can talk to them and-"

"Anna, it's ok. I've been there before with the whole...stepparent thing remember? It took me and my brothers a few days to adjust to having new members in our family too. "Said Peter gently.

"Yeah, but you're their dad now, and-"

"And they'll call me dad when they're ready." Said Peter softly. She smiled softly and kissed him. She knows deep down it is a big adjustment for the kids, but she loves Peter and Peter loves her. He's kind and thoughtful, and someone she wants to spend the rest of her life with. She gets out of bed, and he smiles softly seeing her wearing an old shirt of his to bed as she pulls up her hair. "It's gonna be a good day."

Before she says anything there's immediately a fight breaking out over the bathroom between the two older girls, the boys run down the stairs from their room, and Rebecca calls out for her mother. Anna curls her lip and smiles at him. "You sure?"

He chuckles in response...yeah maybe not.

Bobby's House

Tracy hummed as she was getting breakfast ready. Bobby was at the table reading the paper, while their grandkids were waiting breakfast. Emma the eldest at eleven was finishing up a report on her laptop she hadn't finished the night before, eight year old Andy was on his phone, and six year old Vanessa was reading.

"Ok, electronics and reading materials away." Said Tracy, as she came over with a tray full of food.

"Grandma, I'm almost done!" Exclaimed Emma.

"You should have been done last night, why didn't you finish?" Asked Tracy, as she set the plate of pancakes down before her granddaughter.

"I...got sidetracked." Said Emma, earning her a look from her grandma. Emma however flashed those big baby blues and gave a small pout. "I'm sorry."

"Next time, when I say finish your homework. I mean, finish your homework young lady." Said Tracy with a nod, as she sat down. Emma saved her work and closed her laptop with a light nod as she smiled innocently at her grandmother and her brother and sister immediately began to dig in whilst Bobby took a sip of his coffee.

"Did mom's postcard come in yet?" Asked Vanessa cheerfully.

"Not yet, but we'll see." Said Bobby with a small smile.

"I can't wait to read about where she's been this month. I'm still thinking about her trip to Peru last month, I can't believe she actually saw real alpacas and jaguars, and even got to go to the rainforest!" Exclaimed Vanessa excitedly. "Oh! That reminds me, I have to go get my lucky charm!"

The little blond runs off back to her room leaving just the four of them in the dining room.

"How long are you gonna let this go on for? Sooner or later she's gonna get the hint that those postcards aren't from who she thinks they're from." Said Emma, and both Bobby and Tracy shared a look. They'd only had one child..a daughter named Grace. One day, Grace came home with three children..and then left the next morning. Leaving the three children in the care of her grandparents. Bobby and Tracy had of course written postcards to the children from their "mother" detailing her adventures out of the country and how she missed them, and...to them it wasn't bad and gave the kids hope...until the oldest two figured out just who those letters were actually from.

"Well, for now at least they make her happy." Said Bobby with a small nod. "I know they used to make you guys happy."

The other two say nothing, going back to looking at their plates as Vanessa comes back with her eternal sunny disposition. The thing was, the other two didn't want to crush their sister but...was it really ok to let her believe a beautiful lie? That their mother was out there writing to them and that she hadn't just dumped them on their grandparents and just...gone?

Greg's House

Breakfast was also underway in another Brady household, as Nora and Melissa Brady were making breakfast and Melissa was making lunch for her kids. Greg and Kevin were at the table helping Cody put the finishing touches on his science project. Kevin's daughter Violet was at the table, making sure all of her supplies were in order.

"Vi, pass me that highlighter would ya?" Asked Greg, his granddaughter handed him a blue highlighter and he began to use it on some of the notes.

"Doesn't this defeat the purpose of academic achievements? After all the purpose of at home school work is for the students to do their own work at home. I know when I was in elementary school I never needed assistance with my work." Said Violet, blinking with those blue eyes innocently as she smiled at her family. Her little brother stuck his tongue out at her which she ignored.

"Well, sweetheart for one thing, not everyone can be a certified genius like you are." Said Greg, and Violet smugly shifted in her seat at that. "Besides, there's nothing wrong with giving someone help every now and then.

"I still don't understand the logic behind doing his work for him." Said Violet.

"We're not doing the work for him Vi, we're doing this as a family." Said Kevin, as he and Cody were working on the actual drawing.

"That...ok." Said Violet, as she rolled her eyes and the sixteen year old went back to her backpack. Greg looked back at her, his eldest grandchild and only granddaughter..did have a point. Then again, his granddaughter was also very smart...incredibly smart. She could have skipped a couple of grades but chose not to because...something about "socialization between similar peer groups is beneficial, and...ok yeah she lost him but the point was she was very smart and Cody was...he didn't want to say normal. But Cody wasn't the genius his sister was. So he needed help.

"Hey so buddy, I actually asked my boss and I was able to get this Saturday off." Said Kevin with a smile.

"So you're coming to my game?!" Exclaimed Cody excitedly.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world buddy." Said Kevin, as he and Cody immediately gave a high five. Violet swallows a small lump in her throat as she deflates, and her gaze lands on her brother and father's hands for a moment before shying away her gaze.

"I'm going to go ahead." Said Violet, as she got her bag.

"You're not going to have breakfast sweetheart?" Asked Nora.

"No thank you grandmother, I'm not hungry." She says before turning and walking off. Greg excuses himself, before going after his granddaughter.

"Hey Letty um, I found this in the garbage last night." Said Greg, taking out a flier from his pocket. Violet bit her lip, she'd hoped that it would remain hidden but she supposed it wasn't the case. The flier was crumpled and wrinkled but you could clearly see that it was for a Mathlete Competition...this saturday, the same time as Cody's game. "Your grandma and I will be there."

"It's alright, grandfather you don't have to...this game is important to Cody, and besides. The outcome is always the same, Westdale wins because I lead us to victory." Says Violet, her voice wavering slightly. "You won't miss anything."

"Letty, I'll be there I promise." Said Greg, gently placing a hand on her shoulder. Because Greg knows how important this is to his granddaughter, and yes the outcomes are always the same but darn it if he isn't going to be there right there cheering for her as she excels at what she does best. He smiles and gently kisses her forehead. His little flower is going to do great things. Violet smiles softly before turning and leaving.

Kim Household (Jan's daughter and son-in-law's home)

Arianna sat outside with her grandmother, enjoying their usual relaxing meditation time. Jan and Phillip had moved in with Patty, and thankfully it wasn't too much of an inconvenience for her. It was just her, her husband, their daughter and her husband, and their one and only grandchild Arianna. Being the only grandchild, Jan spoiled her rotten and the two of them enjoyed bonding together in the mornings just the two of them sitting there and letting the cool crisp air hit them.

"Grandma?"

"Hm?"

"I think today might actually be the day." Said Arianna, and Jan knitted her brow as she looked at her granddaughter. "Ok, so our school is putting on a production of High School Musical and after several hours of debate, several more hours of making lists, and weighing the pros and cons, checking with my horoscope like twice, and consulting my tarot cards. I've decided to go for it."

"Oh! What part are you going out for?" Asked Jan.

"Well. that part I'm not sure of. I mean Gabriella is within my vocal range which is good obviously but I've always wanted to play a villain and yet I'm always typecast as the goody two-shoes girl next door. So Sharpay would be great! I'm at abit of a crossroads honestly...huhg maybe I should consult my horoscope again...and my tarot cards." Grumbled Arianna, and Jan chuckled as she reached over and gently cupped her granddaughter's face. She loves her granddaughter dearly, but the poor girl is very very bad at decision making.

"Or, you could just sit down and make a decision based on what you think is best for you." Said Jan softly.

"Grandma it doesn't work that way, the universe sends you messages and signs! Also what if I try out for Gabriella and end up being typecasted...again. Or or what if I'm cast as Sharpay and can't sing her songs because I can't sing her parts very well or act mean enough? What if this is all just a huge mistake and everything ends up going horribly wrong? What if-"

"What if you stopped overthinking." Said Jan, before brushing her dark hair back. "Arianna Carol Kim, you are a wonderful actress. No matter which part you get you're sure to nail it alright? Just have a little faith in yourself."

"Well...I suppose you're right." Said Arianna who was still very very unsure of herself. Jan gently kissed her cheek though...Arianna was still very...very confused.

Greenberg Household

"Lexa, get up." Orders Cindy, her twenty-two year old daughter groans as she looks up from her spot on the couch to see her mother standing there with hands on her hips tapping her foot. "What time did you get in last night?"

"...I think the sun was up?" Asked Lexa, as she yawned and rubbed her head.

"Lexa I've told you...numerous times I might add, that this is unacceptable. You can't just go out by yourself and party at all hours of the night and then come home to sleep it off until the next party." Said Cindy, she loved her baby girl but this was ridiculous. She looks back at Gary, who says nothing as he goes to get a headstart at breakfast.

"Oh my God mom, like seriously it's not that big of a deal." Said Lexa with a groan as she sat up. She wished her mom understood where she was coming from.

"Look I would rather not have the same conversation again. Your father and I are going with your brother and sister and their spouses on a triple date alright? Can you take care of the kids?" Asked Cindy, Lexa flashed her a thumbs up. Cindy sighed, and went to the kitchen and she leaned on the counter. She and Gary had married, and eventually they had a daughter. Carly and Jake had loved their baby sister, and obviously Cindy loves her daughter but...well...it was like her daughter was 17 instead of 22. She was irresponsible, lazy, and Cindy was at her wit's end.

"Everything ok?" Asked Gary, as he placed a hand on his wife's shoulders.

"I'm fine I'm just...very stressed." Said Cindy, Gary hugged his arms around her waist pulling her close and gently kissing her cheek.

"It'll be ok." Said Gary softly.

Marcia's house

Marcia woke up, and she sighed as she patted the empty and cold mattress beside her. She missed Wally dearly, it had been a month since he passed on without her thanks to a complication with a heart surgery. Her son and daughter immediately offered to let her live with them and her grandkids and inlaws were fine with that but she wasn't sure about that. She loved both her children dearly but she wanted to prove she could handle this. Not only that, they already had enough on their plates. Still, this house seemed so empty...and so very lonely.

Immediately she got her phone and scheduled a lunch with her daughter-in-law Noelle, deciding to do something to ease her nerves. She woke up, made herself some breakfast and did some yoga that morning. Feeling calm and serene, as the cool crisp air blew near her and she could feel the chilly fall air. It was brisk and calm, and everything felt right with the world.

Sort of.
