Asriel was dying.

Bit by bit.

Turning in to dust. He was running. From his own fear, there were cracks on his fur as his colors washed away.

He would die anyway, but something kept him together for enough time to reach the core, the inside of the core, the place no one should go.

He only realized when he was thereâ he would die anyway, maybe that would make it less painful and terrifying.

He jumped. He heard Toriel and Asgore screaming his name, but he didn't looked back.

The world went blank.

There was the void. Darker. Yet darker, there was darkness around him.

The hospital looking corridor faded on distance. Multiple rooms.

There was light and a strange, pale man, empty eyes, not threatening, almost comforting, a gentile smile, the man was casting a shadow on Asriel.

The man was Gaster. That after a long time in the void, started making this place his home.

He had a brand new lab, a brand new life, time was nonexistent and he had all the 'whatever-keep-things-together-here' to make experiments.

But he never DREAMED that Asriel, the prince, the happy and lovely children would end up there. He tried suicide? He just slipped on an inconvenient moment? Someone pushed him?

He wanted answers, but no big deal if Asriel didn't wanted to answer them. Is not everyone that had the nerve to talk about his death.

"Iâ . Iâ I... deâ . Aâ dâ . Dâ .?"

Gaster answered with a slightly bigger smile.

â No.â

"Lâ ivâ e?"

"Not exactly, I believe the correct term is 'existing'" Asriel move his lips, almost unnoticed, like he was saying a 'ohâ ' under his breath.

"Prince Asriel?"

"Gasterâ ?" He now remembered his name. He hadâ forgotten? Yes. But now he remembered out of a sudden, and it wasn't the time to question.

"â We-Welcome to the voidâ I believe is your homeâ " he looked away "â for nowâ ".

Asriel went silent.

Gaster picked the boy up like a baby, Asriel was to shocked to follow Gaster by himself. He had flashing images, like his brain was trying to assemble a memory about what happened between the void and the world. So he was living the jump, over and overâ

Gaster was worried. Everyone would slowly forget about Asriel, his things maybe wash away with him as all the forgotten things, but if not, it would just prolong the sensation of emptiness on his parents.

Sans would probably remember, but it would not be any big thing since he can't actually access the void. His followers, especially Goner Kid would at least keep him company.

But about Asrielâ Gaster was not sure what to do...

He was desolate, he was destroyed, he didn't even knew about slowly washing away from the world and all your loved ones forgetting you, seeing your photos and thinking 'who is this strange?'.

Gaster maybe would be able to 'fix' him, Asriel was less shattered than him, he didn't striked the exact center, just enough to end up in the void.

But there were worst destinations than the voidâ as he previously thought, at least his followers could at carry information in and out of the void, so Asriel maybe would get his stuff backâ he was not sure if it mattered at this point.

He had to comfort Asriel at least, he had Papyrus and Sans as his loyal helpers, maybe he could give a purpose to Asriel.

â again, he was not do sure.
