So, I started growing an appreciation for a character from Naruto Shippuden, and of course I checked to see if this idea was used. It wasn't...that I know of.

While my other stories are plagued by the DREADED enemy: Writer's Block, I am still working on them. My friends have shelter; that is enough for me to be able to start moving on with my ideas. Of course, Depression is NOT good for motivation.

This idea was created after re-watching fights with the Hozuki Clan in Naruto Shippuden series...and wondering "What if it also was able to manipulate water the uses?"

Also, unlike the series, the user does NOT turn into a jelly-like state when they pass out. This version of said ability, the "Hydrification Technique", requires conscious decisions. It CAN be instinctive, but not when the user's mind can not respond to the danger. If you are unclear with the Hydrifiction Technique, I recommend looking it up on one of the multiple Naruto Wiki.

However, if you want me to simplify it, the Hydrification Technique allows the user to turn their body into water and also merge with bodies of water. This renders crushing and slicing attacks and weapons useless. The drawbacks are an increased weakness to electricity and the user has to drink a lot of water since this can make the user dehydrate easier.

The sword he has is Kubikiribocho (Decapitating Carving Knife when literally translated; also known as "Zabuza's Sword" or "Executioner's Blade"), but altered to use one type of dust.

As for WHY this isn't in the crossover section? This isn't a true crossover. YES, techniques appear, but only as the user touches the water as a part of their Semblance. They can't manipulate water they are not in contact with, or have drank. I will list the few techniques used as part of the Semblance.

Hunter of the Water

Chapter 1: Beacon is a Chaotic Whirlpool

Jaune Arc sat on a set inside the airship heading to Beacon. He was wearing a white, sleeveless v-neck shirt with his family symbols on each shoulder, blue jeans held up by two belts in an "X" formation with multiple reusable water bottles strapped to them as well as a secure dust container, and black hiking boots on his feet. While he was no bodybuilder, he wasn't completely scrawny. Finally, a large golden strap went from his left shoulder to his left hip.

A gigantic sword was next to him. It was gunmetal gray with a single, shining white edge. It was a large broadsword, as tall as a full-grown man, shaped like a butcher knife. The blade itself has two cut outs, a circle close to the top and a semi-circular one nearer to the handle. It has a large, almost two foot long handle with large cylindrical sections and blue wrapping; the one at the end with an indent carrying purple Steam Dust powder(1). Where the handle met the blade, were two golden crescents representing his family symbol. In the hole near the tip of the blade, there were multiple small holes leading into the blade itself. At the base of the handle, near where it connected to the blade, was a small dark blue button.

The young man had blonde hair and intense blue eyes staring over the group of people on the airship as he sipped on one of the water bottles. His hair appeared damp, pulled back into a Warrior's Wolf Tail to keep the hair from covering his eyes. Said gaze fell upon a beautiful blonde haired woman around his age hugging a shorter girl in a black dress and red cape close. He pulled the bottle away from his mouth and grit his teeth and closed his eyes as memories flashed before his eyes.

"That's my little warrior! Not only awakening your aura against those aquatic Grimm, but your Semblance too!"

"Jaune! Take Saphron and Run! Your father and I will cover you!"

Then, he saw a young girl in an orange shirt and slightly darker hair look at him. On her bet was a sword with a white and gold sheathe. "Jaune...we're all that's left."

That day always was a sore spot whenever he was reminded of himself. Just a week before, he was with seven older sisters and his parents celebrating the awakening the awakening of his Semblance; what they called "Water Body"...then their home was attacked by the Branwen Bandit Tribe...and the negative emotions brought forward by the battle drew in a literal army of Grimm. That day...all that was left was one sister; Saphron, and himself. While a lot of counseling and...well, working out frustrations with the sword next to him helped him cope, it still left an emotional scar.

Scars may fade, but they never truly heal.

Jaune shook his head as he worked on moving past those memories that bubbled to the surface and reopened his eyes, grabbing the large sword next to him. He stood up and strapped the bottle back to his belt as he swung the large sword on his back, attaching it to magnets and hooks on his strap. Just great. Now he was worked up by remembering the fall of his home, and he had no space to do practice swings with his sword.

"WOW! Look at that sword!" He heard a girl's voice cry and he was nearly knocked off balance as the girl with the red cape was suddenly in front of him; leaning to her left to get a better look at the sword on his back. The girl had black hair with red streaks and bright silver eyes.

"RUBY!" The blonde that was talking to her earlier jogged over to her and pulled her so the silver-eyed girl was standing straight. "Sorry. My sister Ruby is a bit socially awkward."

Jaune gave her a smile, as the two reminded him of a happier time. "It's quite alright. It's refreshing to see someone show an interest in Executioner that is more than 'get it away from me'. That gets old very fast." Jaune smiled at the duo, inwardly thankful for the distraction from those unpleasant memories. He pulled the sword off his back and held it so the tip was resting on the floor. "As you can see, it uses Steam Dust. These holes in this larger hole use the dust at the press of a button and creates a smokescreen of mist for me to hide in. If I move silently enough, I can get around some tricky enemies." Heaving the large sword onto his back, Jaune smiled at the enraptured Ruby. "In total, thanks to the metal and construction used to make it, it weighs about 66 pounds. To be honest, I have been thinking of renaming Executioner, but I can't think of a decent name (2). So far, it has been the death of Grimm that got in my way."

"It must have been tricky to make it in weigh less while making the mechanics and use of Steam Dust, even with such a simple form." Ruby gushed while the blonde girl with him eyed the two with interest; scanning to see any hostile attempts or feelings towards the younger girl. Watching as Ruby unfurled and gushed over her sniper rifle/scythe-Crescent Rose, she let out a sigh of relief inwardly seeing that Ruby's awkward weapon fixation hadn't backfired on her...like usual.

Upon landing, Ruby rushed off as she took in the sights that she was seeing two years early. Jaune walked next to the blonde girl as crowds of people surrounded them. The girl's lilac eyes kept glancing at him as he took another long sip from the water bottle. "Thanks for being nice to my sister." The girl finally said as Jaune put away the water bottle and turned to face her. "She got moved ahead by two years and left behind the few friends she made. It was nice of you to be nice to her."

Jane gave an understanding nod, "Yeah...my mother always said 'strangers were just friends you hadn't met yet'. Well..." The blonde girl looked concerned as his entire body expressed a pained expression and she realized that said mother must have died.

"I'm Yang Xiao-Long. Pun master, Brawler extraordinaire, and real hot stuff." The newly identified Yang said as she held her hand out for a handshake as she smirked.

"Jaune Arc. Swordsman and a watery grave for most Grimm." Jaune said with a matching smirk as the two hands clasped together.

Then, a loud explosion of lightning, ice, and fire coming from the courtyard got their attention as Yang's bracelets unfolded into golden gauntlets with small shotgun barrels and Jaune pulled Executioner off his back. With a silent look and a nod, the two ran forward in the direction of the explosion. They both were caught off guard by the sight of Ruby sitting in a crater, covered in soot.

"Good thing I was talking to Jaune here, sis." Yang said, as Jaune reached down, grabbing Ruby's outstretched hand and pulling her to her feet, "Not even your first day here and you already made a blast." This got a groan out of Ruby, but Yang was surprised when Jaune gave an amused smirk at that statement.

"For a premiere Huntsman academy, it seems to me that Beacon is more like a chaotic whirlpool than it would look like." Jaune said, gazing at the sky, "Perhaps it would be best if we followed the crowd to our orientation meeting place before we get lost."

The trio moved on, following the crowd as a pair of green eyes stared at Jaune from behind. "I've finally found him once again..." A young woman's voice said as she quickly stepped forward; red hair trailing in a flowing ponytail behind her.

Yes this chapter is short, but this is just the intro. I don't want to make my usual mistake of having too many events at once happening. Thus, I wanted to set up a hint of Jaune's backstory, and introduce a few future comrades.

1: Steam Dust is stated in the wiki to be a combination of Water and Fire Dust, just as Ice Dust is a combination of Water and Wind Dust. Ice Dust is light blue in color, which is interesting as Water Dust is Blue and Wind Dust is USUALLY white in the show. Since Fire Dust is red, I combined the colors blue and red; making purple.

2: That is something the readers can do in the reviews; suggest names that may replace Executioner for Jaune's sword.

Jaune Arc:

Semblance- Water Body. Naruto Equivalent: The Hozuki Clan's Hydration technique.

Semblance attacks- (a) Arm Drill; turns an arm into water and uses it to form a hard, spinning drill: Equivalent to Tobirama Senju's Water Release: Hard Whirlpool Water Blade from the game Ultimate Ninja 3.

(b) Drowning Blob-After liquefying a portion of their body, the user manipulates the resulting water to surround the target's head, preventing them from breathing in order to either: render the victim unconscious or ultimately kill them, if the suffocation is sustained. Equivalent to Hozuki Clan's Drowning Water Blob Technique

(c) Water Gun- The user mimics a firegun with his or her hand and, via the process of the Hydrification Technique, compresses an amount of water in their index finger. Once charged to a desired size, which takes only seconds for bullets of miniscule size, the drop is then fired at break neck speeds, similar to that of an actual bullet. This can do heavy damage to someone/something without Aura. Equivalent to Hozuki Clan's Water gun Technique.

(d) Giant's Arm- By putting the Hydrification Technique into practical use, the muscles of the arm are temporarily enlarged and strengthened. Moisture is gathered from the whole body and compressed into the entire arm, like an instant pump-up. However, because it is essential to properly control the moisture balance inside the body, this technique's degree of difficulty is very high. The technique gives the user superhuman strength, capable of breaking through both rock walls and steel doors. Equivalent to the Hozuki Clan's Water Release: Great Water Arm.

(f) Water Beast- After using his Semblance to merge with a water source, Jaune can form a giant wave that resembles a demon-like fish or dragon. Jaune can use this form to battle larger opponents, or he can use it to shield allies from attack. Equivalent to Hozuki Clan's Water Release: Tate Eboshi.

With his sword using Steam Dust, he recreates what was known as the 'Hiding in Mist Technique'. This can be used to obstruct vision and silent sneak up on or escape from serious enemies.
