Once a NEET always a NEET

Another day at school, another agonizing reminder for Kazuma as to why he quit going to school in the first place.

If it wasn't for him having to deal with boring subjects, he was constantly teased, bullied, and degraded by his fellow classmates, mainly Tanya and Demiruge.

But worst of all he was stuck getting weird looks, rumors were spread around him, and much more because of his party members and their terrible habits, and given hoe they're in a school environment and that just makes Kazuma's life more miserable.

Yeah he's made some solid friends like Erich, Kurt, Hans, and even the biggest fuck boy in history Subaru, but otherwise ¾ are associated with the devil in a little girl's body, meaning he risks running into and getting punished by her, which has happened before.

Overall he was starting to get sick of school life, and after many times where he and his classmates were lied to their faces over the vague pretense of taking part in these school activities will guarantee them safety back home by Roswaal, he was more than ready to give up.

"And that's the end of class for today, starting next week I expect you all to start or join some sort of school club, have a nice day~" said Roswaal as everyone began to gather their belongings and head out the class.

Why that hell do I even bother coming here anyways, thought Kazuma as he made his way out the class with Aqua bitching about every injustice that happen to her which was more than justified based on her actions.

"…That bra stuffing, flat chested undead vampire is just as bad as that mean succubus Kazuma" vented Aqua as she had a heated argument with Shalltear earlier in the day.

"Sounds nice" Kazuma said dismissively, "Hey Kazuma are you listening to me" asked Aqua as he she felt insulted from Kazuma.

"Just quit looking to pick a fight with people already and try to get along, last thing I want to is to get another week of detention because of you" said Kazuma, another statement that's true.

"Well excuse me for standing up and trying to put those undead bastards in their place while under the presence of a goddess" huffed Aqua as they left the school's main entrance.

"Look, it's the weekend, go home and relax or do something that doesn't involve me getting in trouble or spending my money, speaking of I got to hurry up to my shift" said Kazuma as he left Aqua behind and began to ran towards work.

"Hey Aqua, where's Kazuma going" asked Megumin as she, Darkness, Emilia, Subaru, Puck, Erich, Hans, Kurt, and the Fiora twins saw him ran off in a hurry.

"He's off to work" said Aqua as she gathered with this somewhat group of friends, "Yeah, same thing with Rem, she was also in a hurry to leave as well" said Subaru as she ran like a bat out of hell once the bell rang.

"So what do you guys want to do now" asked Aqua, "Me and Emilia are going to the pet store for our cats" said Megumin, "Me and the boys here were hoping to get Kazuma to go to the local arcade, but whatever" said Subaru, "And I also have to get to work" said Darkness.

"Fine go on and do your thing, I'll just go and play some pachinko and have dinner by myself" said Aqua in frustration as she stormed off, leaving everyone confused as if they did something wrong to her.

With Kazuma

Because of his solid relationship with Ruffian, the man was able to help Kazuma in securing whatever job he liked, be it working at local deli counters, sushi packaging, janitor, the list goes on.

So Kazuma seemed pretty grateful that he was able to work at his ideal electronics store, that offered videogames, visual novels, manga, and a few game systems.

More so the guy was nice enough to offer Kazuma the position and promotion of Supervisor upon being hired, which had its benefits.

Otherwise Kazuma's duty was to watch and maintain the store as hardly anyone came in, with the exception of Subaru and Ainz once in a blue moon.

In short he was free to watch anime, play some videogames, while setting up a timer to pause so he could organize and dust the place up.

"Kazuma, a minute of your time" called Ruffian as Kazuma paused his game to greet his boss and friend.

"What can I do for you sir" asked Kazuma, "Nothing, you're doing a good job, in fact I think you're just about ready to be promoted to assistant manager" said Ruffian with a smile.

"Are you serious" asked a surprised Kazuma as a smile crept on his face, "Indeed so, keep in mind your benefits include but not limited to an additional 300 yen per hour, and your employee discount is boosted to an additional 15% percent, but with those perks come more responsibilities, mainly how you'll be needing to work here a full 5 days a week for 8 ½ to even 9 hours if necessary" explained Ruffian.

"Oh jeez, I don't know what to say" said Kazuma as he was seriously about to be paid 2900 yen an hour and have that 35% employee discount.

"All you have to say is whether or not you want the job, but I want you to think about this since I'm aware you are going to school still" said Ruffian.

"Oh yeah, that" said Kazuma as he was willing to ditch school in favor of working since work did sound a lot more appealing.

Before Kazuma could further think, he got a phone call from the front of the store, "Allow me to get that" said Kazuma as he went to the front counter to answer the call.

"Hello" answered Kazuma, "Yes, we're looking to reach in contact for a Mr. Kazuma Satou" said the voice on the line.

"You're talking to him" said Kazuma as he was worried what it could be about, "Perfect, I'm calling from the Penny Pachinko Parlor, we have a woman named Aqua claiming that she knows you" said the person on the phone.

"Oh god, what did she do now" groaned Kazuma, "All questions will be answered once you arrive sir, please come by and we'll discuss the things your girlfriend has done" said person on the line before hanging up.

Sighing in frustration, Kazuma went to back room to explain his boss he was needed immediately for an emergency situation, to which he allowed Kazuma to go on his way without talking him out of it.

Later

Kazuma had to not only pay for Aqua's bail when she caused a scene and got detained by the parlors security, but their dinner since she wouldn't stop complaining.

"What's wrong with you Aqua, do you have any idea how embarrassing it is to having to bail you out of a scandal every other week" said Kazuma.

"Those pachinko machines were rigged, it wasn't my fault" cried Aqua, "Aqua, I want you to know that, that was the same pachinko parlor where I was able to win us a brand new Kotatsu, HD TV, and that mini fridge I gave you, but now I can't even show my face over there out of the shame you have caused me" exclaimed Kazuma.

Ignoring her cries, both made it home where he and his party roomed together, waiting for the duo to bring in dinner.

"Kazuma about time you got back, what's for dinner" asked Megumin, "Shakes and burgers" said Kazuma as he handed Megumin the obviously kiddy bag one with the toy, much to Megumin's delight.

"So how was work Kazuma" asked Darkness as she was handed her fried chicken sandwich and salad, "Good news they want to promote me to assistant manager, bad news that means I have to work more days" said Kazuma.

"That's good, I'm happy to hear that" Darkness said with a smile, "And you" asked Kazuma, "It's nothing that I or Cocytus haven't done already".

Her job was working alongside the ice bug at an Amazon packaging wear house, and Kazuma for the most part was grateful that Darkness was the most well behaved at work.

"Good to hear" said Kazuma, "Hey, since Kazuma is about to get promoted shouldn't we celebrate" suggested Aqua.

Now normally Kazuma would be down for a ragger and deal with whatever consequences and regrets the following morning, but now he's strongly against it, mainly because these aren't his guild members, and was certain that more than half the people here hate him at the moment.

"Let's not and enjoy our dinner" said Kazuma trying to get out of the situation, "Nonsense, I say this deserves a celebration, plus like you said it's the weekend" said Aqua as the girls cheered at this before making phone calls after phone calls for people to come over and party.

The Next Day

There place and their neighborhood as a whole was a disaster, since things were broken, food and party supplies were strewn across the floor, the list goes on and this was before describing the state of the people of team Kazuma.

Darkness was lying on her back on the cold hard ground without her armor as she had her signature perverted smile on after convincing her friends to give her the frat house initiation treatment that night.

Things they did and had her do was the obvious getting her ass paddled with a paddle, forced to dance on hot rocks while chugging down to bottles of wine duct tape in her hand, before being talked into doing the all classic flamethrower fart, which burnt a whole an revealed her bare ass.

Megumin did nothing but had an explosive contest before enjoying a fat kids dream of pigging out and stuffing her face with enough junk food and sugar that it jumpstart her to get back on her feet and ran around the neighborhood 37 times before passing out in a large bowl food with warm ice cream, soda, whip cream, sprinkles, and gummy bears.

As for Aqua, she got into a drinking contest with Albedo, Ram, and horse face what's his name as he called him, to which it didn't matter who won or lost, but she wound up puking on the carpet and slept on the couch in her usual belly scratching, leg spreading, mouthing gaping pose.

As for Kazuma, that was just a different story all together.

He was forced to play host, babysitter, and the overall punching bag for what transpired that night.

Everyone came and seemed to behave at first, and Kazuma found himself enjoying the company so far, that is until the alcohol was broken out.

Yes once everyone began to start drinking, things began to transpire out of hand, with Aqua goading people to wreck the place and insult Kazuma as they please.

Apparently people took it to heart as nothing was held back from what they did and what they called him, but to give short list, not including the common named insults were virgin NEET, closet pedo, sadistic bully, lowlife scoundrel, half assed and useless adventurer, the girls pet.

As for what they did to him physically were knocking things over after he cleaned it, getting food and drinks tossed on his head, getting a swirly, a few cases of experiencing the worst dick teases, and finally covered him in crap ranging from flour, honey, paint, grease, the list goes on.

So right now that man was sitting with his head in his head inside the shower as the water running down and washing everything on him off his body.

His soul was shattered, his will to socialize and put his trust on the people he thought he could call friends was all but gone.

He was just broken once more, but instead of being betrayed by the one girl he loved and made a promise to be with, he was instead roasted and told to his face how the people around him feel.

Turning off the shower, Kazuma walked down the halls naked with his clothes in hand before stepping in his room to see that a lot of his belongings were also destroyed, misplaced and further reminded him as to who he is to people and that there was nothing he could do to improve it.

Tossing his clothes on the side of the floor, Kazuma could only crawl in bed and close his eyes and hope to never wake up this time around.

Later

When the girls of team Kazuma woke up, they saw how much of a disaster the house was in as much as they themselves were in.

So naturally after a shower, they all did their part in organizing their home, while asking themselves the big question, where's Kazuma.

"Alright, I finally gathered up and collected all the garbage outside of our house" Darkness said as she carried behind her 2 really large garbage bags that were absolutely full.

"Dishes, floors, and anything that was sticky and covered in whatever, cleaned and washed" said Aqua with pride as she wasn't lying at all as everything was clean enough that you'd want to eat off it.

"Floors been vacuumed, and trash is ready to be disposed of" said Megumin as they gathered up the trash and used her explosion magic to get it out of sight and mind.

"Well I say we deserve ourselves some breakfast" said Aqua as they all felt proud of their hard work.

"Hold on Aqua, we need to find Kazuma" said Darkness, "If I know that NEET, he probably woke up first and saw the mess that was left behind and decided to go out and spend the morning with his friends" said Aqua.

"Yeah that does something Aqua would do" commented Megumin as Darkness had finished picking her up to carry her via piggyback.

"Ok point taken, so who's craving MgRonalds breakfast" said Darkness, "Yes please" said Megumin happily as she'd like to get another toy.

Throughout this whole time, Kazuma heard every word they said through his window before turning over to face the ceiling in his room.

Still bare naked and out of energy, Kazuma began to shut his mind as pondered just how important he really meant to the girls, before sitting up.

Sliding on his favorite tracksuit pants, which they had sold here, all he needed to do left was put on a simple black t-shirt and carry on to explore the disarray that is his room.

Just cause he's a NEET, doesn't mean he doesn't value cleanliness, as he began to gather up anything that was garbage, broken, or anything he didn't want to deal with that involved actual effort.

By the end of it all, all he had left was a handful of games for his computer, at least 2 viewable anime series for his tv and gaming consol, his bed was now without a sheet, but he still had a large blanket, and his pillow was without a pillow case.

With his work done, he figured this was the last time he'll be stepping out for a while as he began to step out of the house to leave his garbage outside the curb, before walking into town.

The first place he went to was his job where Ruffian was manning the counter.

"Kazuma, to what do I owe the pleasure, though I'm expecting you're wanting to give me your answer about taking that assistant manager job" Ruffian said with a smile.

"I'm still sleeping on that, I actually came here to buy some things and if I could put in some vacation time" said Kazuma.

"Sure thing Kazuma, how long do you plan to be gone" asked Ruffian as Kazuma had to withhold any sign of possibly never coming into work ever again.

"All of it, if possible" said Kazuma, "Sure thing, I guess I'll see you next month, or otherwise, now is there anything else I can do for you" asked Ruffian.

Once he got his games to last him a long time, Kazuma made a stop at the local market to buy an abundance of instant noodle cups, before walking back home.

Once inside he made sure to have everything else he might need ready and set since starting today was the first day of his last day being a member of society, and nothing was going to stop him.

Alright, I'm gonna end this chapter here for now, I'll see whenever I get around writing the next chapter.

Frankly speaking with how everything the world has become, it actually took a lot of motivation to get me to even write this story, since I had planned on writing this for weeks now, but ya know I'm emotionally and morally drained since that's my drive in order to survive this crisis.

Hopefully with whatever feedback I get, it'll motivate me to continue on this 5-8 shot story, which mind you it's not gonna be the length of this fic, just I need to let the story breath as I need to do research on a lot of these anime, which aren't Kono Suba or the Rising of the Shield Hero, so yeah.
