Hey guys. Sorry it took me so long to get this out. I was with my family for a few weeks and then my laptop decided to stop working and I have been slammed with work. I am hoping to be able to get more published soon.

The next ten days were normal, both of them working a lot.

However, on the following Monday, Lena woke up feeling off. She was achy and tired and just not feeling well. She had spent the night at her place that night because Kara was covering an all night protest.

Lena dragged herself out of bed, going to get ready. She took her temperature and winced when she saw the 101.7 flash across the screen. She knew she probably should stay home, but she had a lot to get done this week and starting the week off not going in would not work.

She got dressed, popping a few Tylenol before heading out the door. She made it to work, already feeling like she was dragging.

She sat down at her desk, getting to work on the formula she had been working on for the kryptonian pain killer. She allowed herself an hour every morning to work on it and then she had to move on to other L-Corp projects.

This morning, she had a board meeting at 9:30 and an investors meeting in the afternoon. By the time she finished the second meeting, Lena felt like she was going to pass out.

She carefully made her way back to her office, laying down on the couch for what she intended to only be a twenty-minute nap.

However, when Lena woke up, it was dark outside. She pushed herself up, holding her head as she felt a major head rush.

"Babe," a voice said said coming out of her bathroom, "Oh, Lee, what's going on?"

"Kara," Lena said, rubbing her tired eyes as her girlfriend approached with a wet wash cloth, "What's going on?"

"Jess called and told me you had been asleep here the past five hours," Kara said, placing the cloth on Lena's forehead, "And you're burning up. It's almost 7 pm. How long have you been feeling sick?"

"mhhh," Lena said, happy with the cool feeling on her forehead, "Since this morning. I'm fine. I just need to sleep off the fever."

Lena moved her hand to her stomach, itching it. She then moved it to her back, thinking the tags on her dress muct have been in a bad place.

"What's wrong?" Kara asked, watching Lena shifting uncomfortably.

"The tags in my dress are bothering me," Lena said, sitting up.

"Well, why don't we get home and get you out of that dress," Kara said, standing up and offering a hand to Lena.

The CEO took it, knowing that she was too sick to try to work anymore tonight.

"Wanna fly or drive?" Kara asked, kissing Lena's forehead.

"Fly," Lena said, leaning heavily on Kara.

"Alright," Kara said, making sure Lena was stable before she changed in the blink of an eye, "Let's go."

Kara scooped Lena up into her arms, flying to her place. Lena lived in a long-term hotel situation which was fine, but not ideal when you were sick. Kara landed in her apartment before gently setting Lena down.

"Are you alright?" Kara asked as Lena swayed a little bit.

"Yeah," Lena nodded, "Just a little dizzy from flying and the fever."

"I'm sorry," Kara said as Lena reached around to scratch at her back, "Here, let me help you get this off."

"I need to cut the tags out of this dress," Lena said, shivering a little as Kara pulled the zipper down.

"Umm," Kara said, opening the back of the dress, "Lee, I don't think the tag is the problem."

"What?" Lena said, absentmindedly scratching at her stomach.

"Your back is covered in pox," Kara said, eyes wide as she looked at her girlfriend's back.

"What?!" Lena said, eyes widening as she pulled her dress off.

As she looked down at her stomach, she realized her stomach was also covered in angry red dots.

"No," Lena said, shaking her head, "No, I can't have chicken pox."

"Did you have them as a kid?" Kara asked, looking at Lena's stomach.

"I don't know," Lena said, tears filling her eyes, "I guess not."

"Don't cry," Kara said, pulling Lena close to her, "It's going to be alright. We have everything we need to make this as easy as possible. It'll be fine."

Lena nodded, just resting her head on Kara's shoulder for a minute.

"Sorry," Lena said, wiping her eyes, "Fevers make me emotional."

"Don't apologize," Kara said, shaking her head, "You put up with my emotional roller-coaster when I was sick. Now, would you like an oatmeal bath?"

Lena nodded as Kara headed to the bathroom. Kara started the bath as Lena finished undressing before following her.

"Let me know if you need it warmer or cooler," Kara said as Lena climbed in.

"It feels good," Lena said, closing her eyes.

"Alright," Kara said, "I am going to go grab some food. Do you want Matz ball soup from the Jewish Deli?"

"Please," Lena said, nodding as gave her a quick kiss before leaving.

Within a few minutes, Kara was back with Lena.

"I got soup and a shake and some cranberry juice," Kara said, sitting down on the side of the tub, magically dressed in her pajamas, "I'm going to text Alex and James and let them know that I'm not going to be in for the next week or until your feeling better unless there's a major emergency."

"You don't have to stay with me," Lena said, shaking her head, "I'll be fine on my own. I always just take care of myself when I'm sick."

"I want to stay and take care of you," Kara said, brushing a piece of hair off Lena's forehead, "You stayed with me and I want to stay with you."

Lena was too tired to argue to she just closed her eyes.

About twenty minutes later, she was ready to get out. Right now, her pox were confined to her back and stomach, making covering it in lotion pretty quick.

"Come on babe," Kara said after helping Lena get dressed, "Do you want to go lay in bed or on the couch for dinner?"

"Couch," Lena mumbled, not really wanting to risk spilling anything on her girlfriend's bed.

"Alright," Kara said, guiding her to the couch before going into the kitchen and grabbing their dinner.

"Here you go," Kara said, handing Lena the container of soup as she set her own containers of food down on the table.

"Thanks," Lena said, smiling as Kara sat down next to her.

"Do you wanna watch something?" Kara asked, taking a bite of her sandwich.

"Sure," Lena said, nodding as Kara grabbed the remote.

She put on the Office, just something they could watch without really watching. Lena ate about half her soup before deciding she was full and setting it down. She then pulled her feet up on the couch and curled up with her head on Kara's shoulder.

Eventually, she ended up with her head in Kara's lap, oscillating between awake and asleep.

Kara just gently stroked her hair with one hand, grabbing her phone with the other. She shot Alex a text, telling her that Lena had caught chicken pox from her and that she wouldn't be in for the next week or two unless there was a major emergency. Alex texted back, telling her that if she needed anything, she or Maggie could help them out.

Kara thanked her before shooting James a text saying basically the same thing. James told her she could work from home for as long as she needed to and that he would drop by if he needed anything from either of them.

Kara also texted Sam and told her that Lena was had chicken pox and would be out for a while. Sam actually called Kara after she sent that text.

"Hello," Kara said quietly, not wanting to wake the sleeping Lena on her lap.

"She has chicken pox?" Sam said.

"Yeah," Kara said, "I had them a few weeks ago and apparently Lena caught them."

"Oh no," Sam said, shaking her head, "How is she doing?"

"She's got a pretty nasty fever," Kara said, stroking Lena's hair, "The rash hasn't spread beyond her stomach and back yet."

"Poor Lena," Sam said with a sigh, "Do you guys need anything?"

"WE are good for now," Kara said, "But if you could hold down L-Corp for a while, that would be helpful. I think Alex said this can last for two weeks."

"Yeah," Sam said, nodding, "I had them when I was 7 and I was off school for two weeks. Ruby got vaccinated so we luckily didn't have to worry about it with her. I've got L-Corp as long as she needs. I might need to stop by tomorrow just to brief a few things with Lena though."

"Of course," Kara said, "Just text me in the morning and I'll let you know what's going on here. She's staying at my place for now. I'm going to try to get some meds in her and get her to bed."

"Sounds good," Sam said, "I'll text you in the morning. Tell Lena I hope she feels better."

"Will do," Kara said, "Thanks Sam."

They hung up and Kara gently shook Lena.

"Come on Babe," Kara said, kissing Lena's warm cheek as she tried to rouse her, "You need to take some meds and sleep in a real bed."

"I don't feel well," Lena groaned, opening her sleepy eyes.

"I know," Kara said, rubbing her back, "But if you take some Advil and Tylenol and get to bed, you'll feel much better."

Lena nodded, sitting up as Kara got up and grabbed the meds she kept for when Lena or Maggie or Alex needed them. She brought them to Lena, knowing exactly how much she needed.

Kara made sure to learn the different types of medication that people needed because Alex and Lena were both terrible at taking care of themselves and often needed prompting and cajoling to take anything.

Lena took the meds that Kara handed her without complaining, a true sign that she was really sick. Once the meds were down, Kara helped her up and to the bedroom, giving Lena an extra blanket because she was shivering.

"Do you need anything babe?" Kara asked, draping the blanket over Lena.

"I'm good," Lena said, eyes already drifting closed.

Kara climbed into bed next to Lena. Lena instantly moved toward Kara, burying her face in Kara's chest. Kara smiled. This was the first time Lena had been sick with anything more than a cold since they got together.

Normally, when Lena was sick, she pushed Kara away. Not long after moving to National City, Lena had come down with a pretty bad case of bronchitis. Kara had tried to help her new friend, knowing she was sick and miserable and trying to work through it, but Lena stopped taking her calls and canceled their plans for three consecutive weeks as her lungs burned and she had intermittent fevers. Kara took to dropping soup off with Jess every day because she was worried about her friend. She also would fly past Lena's office at least once a day just to check on the sick CEO. She even visited her as Supergirl, coming up with crazy excuses for why she was there. It was pretty much like that whenever Lena was sick.

However, this was the first time Kara had seen her with such a high fever that was clearly making her feel miserable. She just held Lena close, hoping the meds she gave her would help drop her fever.

Just then, Kara's phone rang. She grabbed it, quickly answering it.

"Hey," Kara said softly, glad Lena didn't stir, "What's up?"

"Hey," Alex said, "I was just calling to see how Lena was doing and if you guys need anything."

"She's pretty miserable," Kara said, looking down at Lena's flushed face, "But the rash isn't too bad yet. Mostly just on her stomach and back, but her fever is pretty nasty right now."

"Did you give her something for it?" Alex asked.

"Yeah," Kara said, "Tylenol and Advil."

"Good," Alex said, "Do you need me to bring food or anything else?"

"No," Kara said, "At least not tonight. We had dinner and Lena is sleeping now. I'm hoping she'll sleep the rest of the night."

"Alright," Alex said, "Well, I will keep my phone on if you need me tonight. She'll be alright. Chicken pox usually lasts about 7-10 days. Hopefully the fever will go away faster and that'll make her feel a lot better."

"That's what I read online," Kara said, nodding, "I'm going to try to stay home with her while she's sick to help because I know it's going to make her crazy that she can't work until the pox are gone."

"Yeah," Alex laughed a little, knowing she and Lena had a similar work ethic and hated being told to stay home, "Well, let me know if you need anything. I'm gonna go so I can head home to see Maggie."

"Love you Lexie," Kara said.

"Love you too Kar," Alex said as she hung up.

Kara put her phone down, looking at Lena who was sound asleep on her chest. Kara carefully adjusted herself and turned off the light, allowing herself to fall asleep as well.

There it was. As always, prompts, comments, and reviews always welcome.
