This is gonna be a Fem!Izuku (Izumi) fanfic and I'm also gonna be (Hopefully) a little more character focused so there might be less action than normal.
This is actually one of my first fanfictions and the first fanfic I'm actually posting so hopefully people will find some enjoyment in it and the other stories I'm hoping to post.
Chapter 1:The Beginning of the Adventure
*Inko POV*
Inko was worried about her daughter. Even more worried than she usually was.
It had started when her little girl had turned 4 and hadn't gotten her quirk like the rest of the children in her class. The doctor had assured her that she would eventually have one as she lacked the distinct signs of being quirkless but the time dragged on and her daughter's quirk remained missing. Izumi would come home with various injuries, more and more, as the days went on since her lack of quirk was discovered. Her daughter would shyly lie stating that she had been clumsy and injured herself but the number of injuries told Inko otherwise.
A year after Izumi hadn't received her quirk Inko noticed a bit of a change in her daughter. Izumi had always loved watching heroes and would furiously scribble away inside of a notebook analyzing every single thing about them. However when she came home that one day she had asked Inko if she could have a fresh notebook. Thinking that her daughter had simply filled out all of her last notebook she happily obliged and handed her a spare one that wasn't being used.
Her daughter's eyes lit up and she quickly thanked her mother before retreating to her room to presumably begin her work.
Later that night Inko had gone to check on her and found Izumi blissfully asleep at her desk. Chuckling to herself she carried her daughter to bed, tucking her in gently. Before she was going to leave, Inko went to turn off the light on the desk and caught a glimpse of what Izumi was working on. Carefully picking up the notebook, Inko was surprised to find page after page of drawings instead of hero notes.
Clearly her daughter had been practicing drawing all sorts of things. Humans, animals, insects, and the way each moved their respective bodies and the like. Inko had been impressed, her daughter seemingly having quite the talent for drawing. Some of the less filled pages held half finished sketches of what looked like classic monsters, mythical creatures, and titles that Inko briefly recognized as old monster films. Apparently her daughter had wanted to use the old movies as reference for her growing art skill. While Inko had thought that her daughter's new interest in monsters was somewhat out of nowhere she found nothing exactly strange about it.
However, Inko wouldn't be able to say the same thing when Izumi turned six.
It was evening and Inko had been happily preparing the ingredients for Izumi's favorite dinner since it was her birthday! They had gotten up early, Izumi excitedly waking her up, and gone on a brief shopping trip to buy more drawing supplies and notebooks. After a quick lunch they returned home and Izumi had begun marathoning monster movies while sketching and taking notes.
In the two years that had passed since not gaining a quirk, Izumi had filled a number of drawing pads with all sorts of drawings. Armors, fantasy-esque environments, people, animals and of course, monsters. Inko still wondered why her Izumi was so drawn towards monsters but she had no worries especially after her daughter showed one of them off to her.
The monster in question, one Izumi had designed no less, was quite cute in fact. It had looked akin to a mix between an armadillo and a lizard. It had a rounded shell which encased the lizard like body and head, and had cute features such as stubby limbs and a rounded face. Her daughter enthusiastically explained that it walked quite slowly so it instead rolled around and even had the ability to heal others. Inko wanted to gush about how cute her daughter was but settled for praising Izumi's work and suggesting that her daughter could use her monster designs to perhaps work on movies or games.
Her daughter still wanted to be a hero which worried her. Inko hadn't suggested movie and game design as a way to deter Izumi, she simply knew how much her girl loved monster design. The mother had watched Izumi process the idea, her eyes lighting up showing that she was seriously considering the prospect. Inko felt a little relieved that Izumi was taking the idea into serious consideration. Of course she wanted her daughter to be safe and this was certainly the safer route, however above all she wanted Izumi to be happy. So whichever path her daughter wanted to take, Inko would do her best to support her. Although if Izumi wanted to be a hero then Inko hoped her quirk would show up soon.
The two had a peaceful dinner and then things became strange. Izumi had gone to sleep early saying that she was feeling really tired. Inko didn't find it too difficult to believe since her daughter was only six and had woken up early in the morning. The next morning is when Inko became concerned.
Inko had gotten up, made breakfast, and woke up her daughter. Izumi was a bit drowsy but everything had seemed normal until she had fallen asleep at the table. Inko had woken her up and fretted over her daughter who claimed that she just felt quite tired. After the little episode at breakfast and Inko repeatedly checking on Izumi, the two continued their day. Still not at ease, Inko peered into the living room where Izumi had been watching TV and drawing and was shocked at what she saw.
Izumi had nodded off once again and on her lap was a ball like shell. Short limbs wiggled about and curious eyes peered around. Inko insantly recognized the creature as the monster that her daughter had shown her.
Inko took her daughter to see a quirk specialist. When she first woke Izumi up, her daughter was confused but quickly became excited seeing the living form of her creation. She rapidly descended into a mutter storm quickly coming to the conclusion that this was indeed her quick and began analyzing it while Inko rushed about to make an appointment for her.
The ride over had been a little tense for Inko. Izumi carried the little creature around and madly scribbled in her notebook as well as flipping through her monster designs. The creature didn't make any noises and acted much like a relaxed house pet letting Izumi shift it about and play with it. Her daughter fell asleep a few times inbetween her ramblings but woke up minutes after nodding off and Inko wondered if perhaps it was her quirk's draw back.
When they arrived at the clinic the two received some strange looks, both because Inko was in a bit of a tizzy and Izumi was holding a strange looking creature. Their turn eventually came and her daughter's quirk came to light. The doctor had been shown Izumi's self analysis of her quirk as well as the monster sheet that held the notes and design of the creature. Izumi was asked if she could try and make another monster and soon enough a small ball shaped tanuki appeared while the shelled one disappeared. Izumi once again marveled at her living creation before letting out a yawn and briefly falling asleep.
Both Inko and the doctor were surprised but Inko informed them that Izumi had been falling asleep at random times. She would nod off very suddenly but for a only a few minutes at most. The doctor theorized that since Izumi's quirk was summoning creatures from her imagination, therefore being a mental quirk, then the draw back was it made her quite drowsy. Also considering how active her mind tended to be then she could tend to be tired regularly and experience something akin to narcolepsy.
At the current time Izumi seemed to be able to summon a single monster at once and even if she fell asleep the monster remained until it was overwritten or dismissed by her. It was likely that the current rules of her quirk would change as she got older and her quirk became more powerful. The doctor explained that down the line Izumi could potentially summon multiple monsters at once, utilize the abilities she created them to have, and summon even more powerful ones. It was found that Izumi couldn't summon a monster off the top of her head. She had only been able to create and summon ones that she knew extremely well which is why the ones she had designed were the easiest for her to make.
After a few more tests they proceeded to fill out a quirk registration paper with Izumi appropriately naming her quirk 'Monster Call'. They thanked the doctor, who congratulated Izumi on her unique quirk, before the two went home.
Inko watched happily while Izumi switched between experimenting with her quirk and falling asleep. Suddenly Izumi jolted awake from her latest snooze, startling Inko, and proceeded to scramble for a drawing pad before furiously going to work. Inko couldn't help but feel a little unnerved from the glint in her daughter's eyes.
So what did you think?
Izumi does have a quirk in this and it's sort of a reference to another series. See if you can guess what it is based on the descriptions I give throughout the story.
