I am so sorry everyone! I haven't updated in a week, and I know that is pretty common for loads of authors, but I don't like making you wait! I'll try and make sure it doesn't happen again, but I can't promise anything.

Silver: I'm loving the way you think. You probably write stories. Do you write stories? You should totally write stories. You have some amazing ideas. Thanks for the review as always! When I got the comment from you I literally said 'ope awesome it's one of my regulars' XD.

merendinoemiliano: Thanks!

Thank you to CelesteBunny5 for practically doing everything possible! I really appreciate it.

Thanks to Zenolover! for following and Ninjini for following and favouriting the story!

Sumydk: Welcome to the crew! I feel like we should have a group name for the readers of this story... but I'm not totally sure what it would be? XD I'm really glad you are enjoying the story and thanks for the support! I normally update every three days or so? Sometimes more, sometimes less. But as I said before, this is one of those rare occasions where it took a week.

Credit to Silver for the idea in this chapter! You are supplying lots of fantastic ideas and I think they are genius.

"Caaaaptaaaaain," Elizabeth heard a drone from the corridor. She recognised the voice instantly as well as the large clomping footsteps. She would've laughed at Ban, but her body was slightly... restricted at that moment.

"Hey," Meliodas replied lightly. He had sounded ever so slightly happier since she had managed to 'give him a sign of her safe awakening'. Well, that was how he put it when she'd done it earlier that day.

Ban grunted at his response. Elizabeth remembered that the two best friends used to have a ridiculous hand shake they would do. It resulted in broken arms and busted walls from people being thrown into them. Her and Diane would just sit there, uninterested, while other people would dive for cover. The girl knew her boyfriend and all of the other Sins, yes even Gowther, wouldn't let her get hurt, so what was the point of hiding?

"Dude... that sucked. What happened to ya will to live?"

"Oh, she just got hit by a car." Ban didn't exactly seem to have a answer to that. Elizabeth would have to remind herself to scold Meliodas for making Ban uncomfortable, and probably kiss him for saying she was what willed him to live.

That was a weird thought...

The last time she had kissed her... well technically still boyfriend... it was to avoid trouble. It had seemed so amazing and indescribable. But the old her saw it as something so natural, relaxed, just like blinking. Maybe the present version of herself would see it as a little bit of both?

"Ah, shoot, sorry Cap'n."

"Nah, it's good. Just warning you now though, Elizabeth can hear us." There was a sharp intake of breath, probably from the newcomer, and a slightly awkward pause. Then just dump in a whole lot of disbelief on Ban's part.

"And ya know that... how?"

"Doesn't matter." Meliodas finalised. His voice sounded chilled, but the intention and order behind it spoke for itself. She could imagine Ban shrinking back ever so slightly at his captain's tone.

"Right... well uh, sup Princess." Hey Ban. "Aaanyway, Cap'n, ya need a shower. Ya smell like a deadman."

"Don't care, I'm staying here."

"No, you ain't. And warning you now I'm fully prepared to drag ya skinny butt out myself." Ban's voice held challenge, but there was something there. Something else that Elizabeth recognised instantly, because it was the same way she spoke to the blonde boy. Meliodas was in a room with the two people that probably cared about him most. Maybe except Zeldris, and speaking of Zeldris...

"Though I called your brother and his scary girlfriend in the likely circumstance that you would decline." Elizabeth heard a groan before a thud and the sound of something hard hitting the ground. A series of muffled swearing followed. She could accurately guess what happened.

"Dammit Ban! God, fine, I'll have a shower! And for your information, I threw my chair at his head after I punched him in the face. He's fine." And the sad thing is I'm not really that surprised. Elizabeth felt sorry for the probably bewildered looking Ban, but he was practically invincible anyway and never seemed to get hurt. It was like the guy was immortal.

"Thank you Ban, I didn't really feel like fighting my brother today," came a sly voice and two pairs of footsteps. The girl was very relieved that the two were ok. What had happened to them when they had tried to stop the head of the Dragon household? "We're on the run now too, so we'll be sticking around here for a while."

"Oh and Meliodas, I stopped by Elizabeth's house to pick up anything she needs; hairbrush, toothbrush, underwear, all that for when she wakes up. Her sister packed it. Her whole family are incredibly worried about her," Gelda continued and the girl mentally thanked her.

Gelda. Gelda and Zeldris were a funny case in Elizabeth's past. The woman always seemed to have a mutual friendship and understanding with her. She new the struggles of loving a Dragon son as well. Zeldris despised her for getting his brother involved with exposing their family's secret. Of course, the silver haired girl had got him out of many horrible situations before despite his protests. He owed her if he liked it or not.

'Oh Zeldris, please be nice to the poor girl. You owe her that much.'

There was a silence before someone sighed and footsteps could be heard retreating. Elizabeth guessed it was Meliodas. She would be lying if she said she wasn't even slightly disappointed that he was leaving, but on the other hand, at least he was looking after himself.

As long as he's safe.

There had been a constant, quiet chatter in Elizabeth's room for the past two hours. She caught bits of unimportant and not particularly relevant conversation. Two or more different Sins, and some other close friends, had been in the room every fifteen minutes. It was almost like they were on shifts. Shifts to keep on eye on her.

Everything was running completely smoothly until there was a crack. All talking ceased. Another crack. Chairs could be heard scraping against the floor. What is going on? A shout, another crack. A smash and then a shattering.

Elizabeth could hear glass hitting the floor, someone was screaming, at least nine pairs of feet were slapping against the hospital floor. The girl knew that panicking wouldn't help her situation, but she couldn't move or open her eyes. Two of her senses, things she relied on to survive, had been stolen from her.

"Get the Captain and the others!" King's voice rang over the chaos clearly. Arthur or Escanor, both were there, could be heard sprinting from the room.

"Never mind him, go after the girl and track down the other three!" An unfamiliar voice barked. And I thought I'd be safe. I knew I should've have underestimated the length that man would go to. The other three... Zeldris, Gelda and Meliodas. Feet scuttled on the ground and someone could be heard groaning in pain. Wait... where they fighting? Elizabeth hoped with every fibre of her being that that wasn't one of her friends.

Cries of pain filled the air, as well as thuds and crashes. At one point the girl felt a hand reach her arm before it was yanked off my someone else. From what she could work out, King and Escanor were there. The two seemed incredibly weak at first glance, but she knew what happened when the got into a fight. Especially the taller of the two.

"King!" Diane's voice came as the girl entered the ruckus. No...not Diane. I can't let my best friend get hurt. I can't. I didn't stay here to listen to my friends suffer. Enough is enough.

Elizabeth refused to let anyone else fall at the hands of that wicked man.

Her eyes flew open and she shot out of her bed. The scene in front of her was horrifying. All the furniture had been destroyed or knocked over and the widow had been completely obliterated, glass littering the floor. There were six men dressed in black, their faces covered. Two surrounded King. At first the small boy was probably holding his own, but he was on the floor sheltering his head from their kicks.

Escanor had another two. For some reason his shirt had been ripped off and discarded on the floor, revealing his usually hidden, very muscular body.

Diane was stood in front of man who was unmoving on the floor. But her second enemy was leaning over her from behind, a thick arm wrapped around her neck. The brunette was choking, clawing at his arm.

Elizabeth scrambled out of her bed and rushed to her friend's aid, not without stumbling a bit first. No one had noticed her sudden awakening, being too occupied with their battles. Glass scraped the bottom of the girl's bare feet, but she ignored the stinging feeling.

Think, think! You did martial arts for years! Use one of those techniques. He obviously weights much more than you, and physical strength he could beat you in a second.

Actually, I think a slightly dirtier trick could be of use.

Elizabeth brought her foot up and kicked him in the groin. It has the desired effect. The man cried out, letting go of Diane and doubling over. The silver haired girl drew her arm back and slammed her elbow down onto the back of his neck, just at the bottom of his skull. He crumpled without another word.

The brunette whirled round whilst trying to catch her breath, but when she saw the smaller girl, her face immediately brightened. She opened her mouth to say something, but Elizabeth vigorously shook her head, gesturing to the boys.

The two split up, each going to help another member of the Sins. The girl was surprised her body wasn't weak, shaky, injured. Well, there was a horrible pain spreading through her legs, but she ignored it. Her mother's hospital truly was amazing.

As Elizabeth rushed to Escanor, she yanked the metal tray that was beside her bed with her. She then proceeded to swing it around, hard, and smash it against the side of one of the attacker's heads. Escanor took it as an opportunity, wrestling the other shell shocked masked person to the ground.

The teenager looked around for her next victim, but all of them were already on the ground. No, all she could see was a slightly traumatised looking Meliodas standing in the doorway with cackling Merlin behind him.

"Hey Mel! Don't worry, we had the situation under control," Elizabeth said brightly. She was given a few incredulous looks, but laughed them off. The blonde just stood there, firing an odd, questioning look in her direction.

The only difference was she knew what that meant. She'd give him a hint.

"I remember I found those lessons you dragged me along to such a drag, but it turns out they were handy. Gosh, how angry Margaret was when she found out I did them. With you of all people." Meliodas's mouth dropped open, it looked like he was trying to force the words out. Merlin spoke for him.

"Big Sis... it sounds like you..."

"Remember? Yup, everything, including that nickname! And you know what? I actually feel really good. Well, except my legs. They are really starting to ache." Elizabeth finished the sentence just before her legs gave away from underneath her. She stumbled forward, but she knew she would never hit the floor.

Meliodas zoomed forward, and in just a couple of seconds, her head was resting on his lap and his arms were wrapped protectively around her. She tried to beamed at him, but it turned into more of a grimace. The boy above her just put a gentle hand to her cheek and she covered his with her own.

"Elizabeth..."

"I knew you'd catch me. You promised you would never let me fall again." Meliodas searched her eyes, like he was searching for any lies or traces of doubt. It was useless, there wouldn't be any. So he didn't waste anytime. He leaned down to kiss her softly.

Elizabeth drew herself up to meet him half way, savouring the sweet taste. It felt so comforting, it felt so right. It wasn't the same flying sensation she felt before, nor the familiar feeling she used to feel. It was like she was truly with him, truly connected to him.

She would never leave him again.

The girl shifted around her position so she could bury her face into the crook of his neck, arms going around his neck. Meliodas's hands slipped around her waist and pulled her against him tightly. Elizabeth felt her stomach turn as she realised that he had been waiting eight or nine months to do that.

"Really took your sweet time, didn't you Ellie?" The boy pulled back slightly to whisper into her ear, his breath tingling against her skin.

"Sorry about that. But I'm here now, aren't I?"

"You are not going near a car or a road again. I felt so useless! All I could do was stand there and watch as-" Elizabeth cut him off by just shaking her head. He was the strongest person she knew. How could he feel like that?

"You did what mattered most. You brought me back. I was so close to leaving, to giving up. But then I saw that look on your face and..." she trailed off. The rest was reasonably self explanatory. She felt the blonde sigh against her.

"Thank you for staying. I love you Elizabeth, I love you so much."

"I love you too Meliodas. I promise, I won't be leaving your side anytime soon." Meliodas pulled back to then lean forward, resting his forehead to hers. The two sat there in their own world, their own silence.

"Ya know, if you two start making out properly then I'd be happy to watch but-" Ban interrupted, a large smirk on his scarred face. Oh yeah, there are other people on the room. Wait, when did Ban even get here?

"SHUT UP! You totally ruined the moment you idiot!" Diane cried, leaving a bruised King to go beat up a cackling white haired man. Elizabeth and Meliodas held each other's gazes for a second before bursting into fits of laughter. She ignored the stiffness and uncomfortableness of her legs, focusing instead on the scene around her.

"Quit it you two! This isn't the time." Meliodas called after a while. His tone was lighthearted, but Diane and Ban stopped in place guilty, murmuring a 'Yes Captain'. "Anyway, Elizabeth, you need to speak to that woman. After that, I know where we can all go. It's ready, right?"

The blonde boy glanced to the woman still in the doorway. Merlin just smirked, nodding. The Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins grinned in glee, his emerald eyes bright and alive.

"What? Is where done?" Elizabeth glanced between the two for a while before it hit her. "You don't mean..."

"Of course! The Boar Hat is back and open for business!"
