Cammie

I walked on the walking trail taking in the sound. I could smell and hear the beautiful sounds of fall and I could just imagine what they looked like in real life. It kind of broke my heart to know that I couldn't see what made the sounds. I left my walking stick in the car to feel free for once. I felt someone knocking into me. I fell onto the gravel and landed on my knees. I think I must of skinned it because it stung like crazy. Then the most intresting thing happened. I sensed the object I ran into get up. It was a person! Oh, I was so embarrassed. I got up, said sorry to the person and started to walk away but the person grabbed my arm. "What's wrong with you? I was right in front of you! Didn't you see me? Or are you blind?" The man spat. Yes, I could tell it was a man by the voice. I held back my tears. This wasn't the first time someone insulted me not knowing I WAS actually blind. I learned how to not be insulted, and not take it as an insult but, it didn't mean that it didn't hurt. "Sorry sir. It won't happen again," I said quickly walking away from him.

"Oh my goodness! Girl! Please tell me you gave him a peace of your mind!" Macey fumed. I looked down, ashamed. Macey noticed and immediately started yelling at me. "Why didn't you say something?? Why did you let him pick on you? You really need to start sticking up for yourself! Is it really that hard!?" Ouch. Her words stung and I could tell without being able to see, she looked like she wanted to take back her words that she said. Her expression didn't stop me from getting angry though. Does she have any idea what it's like to be blind? No. No, she didn't.

So I say, "Macey. Do you have any idea what it's like to be blind? No. You don't. And I didn't say anything because would you really want to tell a stranger you don't know that you're blind and have them judge you? No. You wouldn't want too." "So Macey, that's why I didn't say anything," I finished. I slammed the door shut.

I was struggling finding my way home without my walking cane. I forgot it in Macey's car and there was no way I was going back to get it. It was very difficult because I kept on tripping over piles something that I assumed were leaves, and running into objects. Being blind was so frustrating. I kept on tripping and almost fell on my face if it wouldn't have been for something holding me up. I felt the object and noticed they were arms. The person who caught me propped me up on my feet again. "Wow, are you falling for me already?" The voice teased. Wait. I know that voice. Was it the guy from earlier? Oh shoot. It was.

Done with the first chapter!! I wanted to have a new story when Cammie is blind because not many fanfics are like that. The mom is not going to be mentioned in this story. Just a heads up. Hope you guys like it!!
