White cloths were draped over all the tables in the guild hall. Balloons and streamers hung down from the ceiling as several wizards made their way through them. Laughter boomed throughout the room in conjunction with the sound of glasses clacking against each other. There was a bevy of meat, salads, and sweets displayed at what was usually the front desk. Behind all the food there was a row of cups filled with either punch or beer for all the party goers. It had been a week since the defeat of Acnologia and the victory over the Alvarez Empire. Makarov had decided to celebrate by holding a party for their success. Not just Fairy Tail, but every guild in Fiore had attended the event.

Natsu tugged on his the collar of his black tuxedo and gulped. He looked over at Wendy who was dressed up in a ruby red ball gown, her hair tied up in two long pigtails. Happy floated next to Natsu, a sly grin on his face. "You gonna do it yet?"

"I'm not sure," Natsu said, nervously. He could feel the sweat on his neck slowly trickle down his back as his heart seemed to be doing somersaults inside of his chest.

"Come on Natsu," Happy said in exasperation. "You've been thinking about it for hours!"

"I know, but it takes time!"

"Not that much time!" Happy retorted in Natsu's face.

"Says you!"

Happy lowered his head in disappointment and sighed. "Just hurry up and get in there already!"

"I will! Later…"

"No! Now!" Happy pushed his paws against Natsu's back in an attempt to move him across the room. He kicked his feet rapidly and put as much pressure as possible on his arms. Of course, he still wasn't able to make Natsu budge an inch.

"Alright, alright. I'll go ask her now." Natsu took a deep breath and nodded to himself. "I can do this. Yeah, I'm all fired up now!"

Wendy, was in the midst of delighting in the savory sweet taste of chocolate cake, along with Carla. "Mmm, this cake is so tasty, Carla."

Carla nodded in agreement. "Yes it is. It has a very nice and rich texture." The white exceed then lifted her head up, noticing that Natsu had walked up to them.

"You having fun, Wendy?" Natsu asked her, a strangely bashful look on his face.

She nodded before swallowing her dessert. "Yeah, it's been tons of fun."

"That's good," Natsu said. He itched the side of his cheek while his eyes glanced around. "Hey Wendy, listen, I have a present for you."

Wendy's eyes widened at that. "A present? For me?"

"That's right," Natsu said as he started digging in his pockets. "Ah damn it…where is it? Come on, I rehearsed this!"

"Rehearsed?" Wendy asked as she innocently tilted her head to the side.

"Come on, come on," Natsu grumbled as he continued to ruffle through his pockets. "Ow! Ah, there it is!"

With his free hand, he shot out several blasts of fire up to the ceiling, causing a bit of panic in the guild. The fire soon rearranged to form a phrase in the air. "Will You Marry Me?" Natsu pulled out a small white box and then got on one knee. Everyone gasped at that. Wendy put a hand over her mouth in surprise as she looked down at Natsu. She noticed that the two of them had everyone's undivided attention. Natsu opened up the box and inside rested a silver bejeweled ring.

"Wendy Marvell," he began in a soft, yet robust voice. "We've known each other for the longest time. And ever since then, you've been the most precious person to me. When I met you again back during the Nirvanna mission, something instantly struck within me. I was still able to remember your name even though I had lost my memories. Now I know that it was because of love."

Natsu took Wendy's hands in his as he went on. "You're my rock, my everything. The most beautiful girl I've ever laid eyes on. When we first started dating, it was pure bliss. But now I want us to be something more…Something permanent. Every dragon needs their mate. And the only person I'm willing to settle for is the gorgeous woman that's standing before me right now. Wendy Marvell, will you marry me?"

Wendy didn't even need to think about her answer. It was already set in stone from the moment Natsu got on his knee. Even so, she felt it hard to speak for a while. Certainly not because of hesitation or anything of the like. Not in the least. But rather, simply because of the pure overwhelming feeling of joy that was spreading across her chest. Her heart thumped wildly and tears formed in the corner of her eyes as a bright smile came to her face.

Finally, she said in a clear, cheerful voice, "Oh Natsu, yes! Of course I'll marry you!"

Natsu grinned happily in response as he put the ring on Wendy's finger. She admired the jewelry resting on her finger before throwing her arms around Natsu in delight. Natsu wrapped his arms around her small waist in return. The two dragon slayers hugged each other, both eternally grateful that they would soon be spending the rest of their lives together.

"I love you, Natsu."

"I love you too, Wendy." And at that, Natsu leaned in for a kiss as Wendy puckered her lips. Their mouths connected as they began to make-out, moaning in pleasure as they did so.

"Whoa," Gajeel stared blankly at the sight he had just witnessed for a couple of seconds. "Did Salamander…just propose?"

Erza nodded, wiping her tears with a proud smile. "Indeed he did Gajeel. Indeed he did."

The iron dragon slayer cocked his eyebrow in confusion. "The hell you crying for?" He heard blubbering come from the other side of his ear as well and turned to see who the culprit was.

"Isn't it just beautiful?" Elfman looked up to the ceiling to prevent his tears from overflowing to no avail. "Now that's a real man for ya! WAHHHHHHH!"

Gray smirked a bit. "I can't even begin to imagine that flame brain as a husband. Wendy's got her work cut out for her, that's for sure."

Lucy nudged Gray in the shoulder and grinned. "Just admit you're happy for them."

Gray rubbed the back of his neck in an awkward fashion. "I never said I wasn't. I'm just saying, it's hard for me to imagine Natsu being a husband. Ever since we were kids, I just always thought it was something that just didn't fit him. So, I'm just a bit surprised is all."

Mira placed her hand over her mouth and giggled. "So, you're basically saying you're proud of how much Natsu has grown. In your own roundabout way."

Gray clicked his tongue and cocked his head to the side. "Think whatever you want."

"Well, let's congratulate the lovely couple," Mira said as hearts floated around her head.

Everyone in the guildhall turned their attention on Natsu and Wendy as they gave them a round of applause. The room filled with claps and cheers as Natsu held Wendy in his arms. He looked down at his little fiancee as she beamed at him. "Thank you, Wendy. I promise to make you the happiest girl in the world." His heart was filled with an immense sense of pleasure as he gazed into her eyes. He couldn't believe that after all this time, he would finally get to call himself Wendy's husband. They would be able to spend their rest of their lives together. It was a dream come true for him and he couldn't have been any happier.

"Thank you, Natsu," Wendy said, staring back at Natsu. "And I promise to make you the happiest man in the world." Her heart fluttered as she thought about all of the things that awaited their new life together. She was already overjoyed when Natsu had asked her out back before The Fantasia Dance, but the feelings that she felt back then had now been multiplied. He had chosen her to be his wife. Back when they had first met, that wasn't something that she thought would have ever occurred, despite how she always desperately wanted it to. But now, the mere fact that it had caused her cheeks to flush and heart to dance with joy. This was the start of the rest of their life and she couldn't wait to see what it held in store.

Makarov nodded tearfully. "To think, two of my precious children will actually be getting married soon. They grow up so fast." He folded his arms and sniffled as he did his best to keep his eyes from welling up further to no avail. The flaming letters suddenly fell on top of the tables and began to spread across the room, much to everyone's dismay, Makarov in particular. "Water!" He shouted. Quick! We need water!"

"I'm on it, Master!" Juvia said as she ran up to dispel the flames with her water magic. The water quickly washed over the fire and soon enough the guild was coated in a thick coat of steam.

"Damn it, Natsu!"
